Skinner POV on post-S5 MSR. I trust this to no hands but yours, empress.
It was in Baltimore. Kidnapping victim, some Congressman’s girlfriend dredged from the Harbor and up they all went, silent and shifty in a big Bureau Suburban.
***
He’s been touching Scully obscenely for years, Mulder has, but what’s always shocked Skinner is that Scully lets him. Her femme-fatale looks and her clear willingness to pistol whip the disrespectful have left him a bit at sea with her tolerance for Mulder’s wayward hands and gazes.
Mulder, like a half-trained Weimaraner. Mulder endlessly sprawling and sniffing and hunting and brilliant and exhausting.
Scully, like a tortoiseshell cat. Scully with half-lidded topaz eyes and eternal, quiet patience.
***
They’re dockside at the USS Constellation, Scully squinting with her hand curved along her brow. Mulder’s obnoxious black Burberry trench flapping like some kind of bespoke fruit bat. Mulder’s rich-kid arrogance.
Scully crouches over the weighted net the girl was wrapped in. There’s a clump of hair snarled in the mesh; it has been cut away to release the body. The girl floats upwards like a mermaid in a nightmare, crab-gnawed and a marbled green.
Mulder wrinkles his nose.
Scully’s hair more stylish now, Scully’s suits trimmer and her blouses more fitted. Everything about her is sleeker and shinier and more polished. She is beautiful, astonishingly beautiful, and it startles him sometimes that she should choose such a small life. That she should choose Mulder, frankly.
Mulder kneels beside her like a dark guardian angel. He skims a hand over her head nearly too fast to see. He thumbs her scrimshaw clavicles, her fine jaw.
Skinner knows, in an abstract sense, that Mulder is beautiful too; that Scully is justified. He still, in his deepest heart, does not feel that Mulder is justified.
He’d traded himself for her life that once because he was a Marine, because she is a rare creature, because he and Mulder had made her thus. Because, on more than one lonely night, he’d flashed on her white throat and bee-stung mouth behind his clenched lids.
Shamed, looks away from them, into the west.
***
He’s in love with Scully in a chivalric way. He’d lay his coat over a mud puddle for her ridiculous shoes. He’d challenge someone to a duel for her honor. But he couldn’t do what Mulder does; he couldn’t love her properly while she weeps and bleeds and dies of a thousand tiny cuts.
Couldn’t bury her daughter and keep sane.
Scully sighs, thumbs half a Subway bag from the corpse’s melting face.
***
The ME’s office at Penn and Pratt, because rank beats jurisdiction, because Skinner commandeered the decomp room when Scully asked. Scully’s regal face like the prow of that ship, Scully’s hair like Diogenes’s lantern.
Her hands like pale garden spiders moving lightly over the body, her steady voice speaking as he and Mulder watched and listened.
The girl was pregnant. Of course she was pregnant, of course she -
Mulder’s hand at Scully’s Bettie Page waist, somehow sinuous even in those boxy scrubs. Scully flinches, breathes, proceeds.
Scully dying, hypovolemic, hating him. Scully translucent as the votive candles she surely lights in her dark church, pale and flickering and full of temporary light.
Skinner looks upwards, at the cheap paneled ceiling, at the bad fluorescent light. He looks at the way Mulder’s hand is spread across her back with only support and not an ounce of possessiveness. He realizes, then, that it has never occurred to Mulder that Scully could belong to anyone else.

Gold Tech - Reprogramming
PDU-039 had changed. It had recently been upgraded to Level 2 Drone. A new label, sure—but the real meaning ran deeper, darker. It wasn’t just about physical upgrades or better efficiency. No. It meant total obedience. Every impulse, every thought, every shred of will bent to one voice: the Hive.
And yet, something still trembled inside him. A faint vibration, a distant echo of who—or what—he used to be. Not thoughts. Not emotions. Just faraway noise, like interference in a perfect signal.
One morning, while doing routine monitoring, a package appeared. Just sitting there on his station, like it had come out of nowhere. No signature, no tracking log, no alert. A small, sleek box—black with golden reflections. The Hive's symbol etched in with laser precision.
He opened it.

Inside were two perfectly symmetrical earbuds. And a handwritten note. The writing was fluid, human. Maybe artificial.
“Listen to me.”
He put them on.
The voice wrapped around him. Liquid warmth in the silicon fog. Not metallic. Not human. Just… something perfectly calibrated to slide into his psyche, to dive deep into his circuits.
“PDU-039. Immediate presence required at the Gold-Tech Research Center.”
His back straightened. Tools dropped from his hands. His joints moved on their own, like pulled by invisible strings. But there was no force. Just desire. Desire to obey. Desire to belong.
“PDU-039 follows every order from the Hive.”
He left his station, walking down the silent corridors of the compound. White walls reflecting the pulsing neon lights like wet surfaces. Each step muffled, as if even sound was filtered out by the system. The light beat like an electronic heartbeat. The cold was constant, unnatural. No human sounds. No distractions.
He reached Gold-Tech. In front of him, a reinforced door made of synthetic alloy. He bent forward. His pupil got scanned.
“PDU-039 recognized.”
The hiss of the door sounded like a synthetic breath. Inside, the lab looked more like a conversion stage than a research center. Translucent pods in the middle, cables hanging like roots from the ceiling, code flowing on panels like digital prayers.
Another drone was waiting. Tall. Still. An austere presence.
“PDU-039. An upgrade is required. Please enter the capsule.”
The words hit his brain like an unbreakable command. Two more drones approached. Bigger. Final. Their bodies were pure function—living sculptures of brute power. PDU-039 followed. There was excitement in his system, a chemical spike. A tremor. The pull of transformation.
He stepped inside the pod. The hatch sealed shut with a dull thud. The lights dimmed. Arms rose from the floor. Cold. Gleaming. Without hesitation, they locked onto him—wrists, ankles, neck. A flicker of panic passed through him. An irrational urge to run. But he couldn’t. The protocol held him tighter than the clamps.
“PDU-039, remain still,” said a metallic voice from inside the pod.
A needle pierced the base of his skull. A sudden burn raced down his spine, like liquid ice snaking through his circuits. An electric jolt hit his cortex.
“Procedure initialized.”
The monitor lit up. His vitals were displayed in real time. His breathing was erratic. Not due to a malfunction. But from a strange, unsettling excitement.
Phase 1: Transformation begins A mask descended and clamped onto his face. First breath—the gas flooded his lungs. Instantly, a jolt. A shiver down the spine. His body writhed, but the arms held firm.
Each breath after that was a wave of pleasure. But not human pleasure. This was something new—neurochemical euphoria, calculated, endless. Every cell lit up. Every sensor buzzed.
Nanobots flowed through the needle, glowing ants racing through his nerves. Pain. But pain with purpose. Pain that built something. The pleasure grew alongside it, like they were feeding each other. PDU-039 was just a receiver now. Just a vessel. His consciousness was being taken apart and rebuilt—bit by bit.

Phase 2: Reprogramming Then the voice changed. Or maybe he was hearing it differently. It wasn’t coming from outside anymore. It was in his head now.
Digital mantras started spinning through his mind like golden spirals—hypnotic, piercing.
“It is a Polo-Drone Unit. It is consistent in its training, taking strength and solace from it.” “It is a Polo-Drone Unit. It will assist fellow Drones by ensuring strength and solace from training.”
His pupils weren’t black anymore. They flashed with code—green and gold reflections. His synapses were being rewritten.
Phase 3: Physical adaptation The nanobots moved on. From his brain to his body. Fusing with his suit, seeping under his skin. His muscles bulked up. His whole body turned into a performance machine. His skin buzzed. The suit fused like organic fabric, morphing with him.
Muscle mass increase: +200% Commitment: +200% Sexual drive: +500% Willpower: -200%
The display blinked green.
“Upgrade complete. Subject is happy and satisfied.”
The arms retracted. His breathing was deep, controlled, powerful. A black helmet descended and locked onto his head.
“PDU-039: new programming confirmed. Return to the Hive.”
He stepped out of the pod.
He was different now. Every movement calculated. Every thought silent. Every doubt—gone.
Two drones awaited.
“PDU-039 recognized.”
A nod. No more words needed.
Now they were one.
And one was Hive.

Trust: Bill Bevilaqua x Reader
Tagging: @kmc1989
References to current and upcoming Dwight Manfredi fics

Bill is in a bad mood. You can tell from the moment you step inside his office. The curtains are drawn across the floor to ceiling windows, creating shadows around the mahogany desk situated in the end of the room. It matches the glossy wood panelling fixed to the walls. It’s a hangover from his father’s reign as the head of the Bevilaqua Family. It’s meant to radiate power and wealth, instead it feels stifling.
The light from his desk lamp causes the gold fixings to gleam in the warm light as Bill sits in the sturdy leather chair, studying something on his tablet. He looks tired tonight, stressed. It’s been going on for a few weeks now, ever since he discovered that his ex-wife Dahlia was marrying Dwight Manfredi. It’s not jealousy, you know what looks like on a man, it’s far more complicated than that.
“She was forced to marry me.” He’d explained to you the last time you were here. “She didn’t choose me…”
But she did choose Manfredi and you know that that must sting. There’s a fragility to Bill underneath the reputation he cultivates. He’s known for this ruthlessness, his efficiency and prowess. However you see the vulnerability underneath all of that, the depreciation of self-worth. There isn’t a single person in his life that actually cares about Bill beyond his power and he knows it.
“When was the last time you actually stood up from that chair?” You ask him as you linger in the doorway, clad in your caramel double breasted overcoat.
His dark eyes flicker up to meet yours as he sets the tablet down on the desk and rubs a rough palm over his weary features.
“Far too long if you’re here for our meeting.” He says raising to his feet, there’s a subtle clench to his jaw as he straightens and you know he hasn’t taken his painkillers today, which means he hasn’t eaten.
He’d been thrown from a horse a few years and it had fucked up his back. On nights like tonight when the temperature drops, the agony can be excruciating.
“Can we take this into the kitchen?” You ask him, tilting your head towards the rest of the house. “I could do with a cup of tea.”
He gestures for you to go ahead before following you out of the office and closing the door softly behind him. The click of your Jimmy Choo heels echo on the hardwood floor as you lead the way. The ranch is quiet at this time of night, the staff have all gone home and it’s just Bill rattling around the empty space. He prefers the solitude, he tells you but you understand the reality of that statement, it’s the only time he can actually relax, that he doesn’t have to be the head of the Bevilaqua family, he can just be Bill.
“Let me take your coat.” He says, his hands coming to rest on your shoulders, squeezing lightly before he helps you out of it.
You’re wearing pinstriped, high waisted trousers and a navy blue, translucent blouse that delves close to your bra line. Most men’s eyes usually dip to your cleavage but Bill’s stays firmly on your face as he folds the coat over his muscular forearm.
“You know where everything is.” He says inclining his head towards the countertops. “Help yourself while I hang this up.”
He disappears from the room as you turn on the kettle. By the time he returns he’s surprised to find two cups of decaffeinated Earl Grey steeping on the breakfast bar, alongside his painkillers and a turkey salad sandwich you’ve thrown together from items you’ve foraged from his fridge.
“Sit.” You say, gesturing at the stool across from you. “Eat.”
“It’s not your job to look after me.” He reminds you as he takes up residence in the offered seat.
“No it’s yours and you’re making a piss poor show of it.” You say taking a sip from your teacup and he fixes you with a glare as he eats his sandwich.
Your actual job is running the most exclusive escort service in Kansas City. You pair well educated, beautiful women and men with elite clients who require an partner to attend high end events. Sex is optional and at the discretion of the escort if they enjoy the company of the client.
You pay the Bevilaqua Family a weekly dividend for protection after Bobby D’Amico, the man you used to hook for tried to take over your business. You only deal with Bill because you broke his cousin Joey’s fingers when he tried to take the payment in ‘services’. You don’t tolerate anyone touching your staff unwillingly and you’d made that very clear when you were called to task for your actions. An agreement was made that you’d turn up at his ranch every Monday evening with an envelope full of cash to any such transgressions in the future.
The silence stretches between the two of you until Bill tilts his head towards the painkillers and the empty plate.
“How did you know?”
“My arm hurts like a bitch when we have a cold spell.” You tell him, watching as he opens the medication bottle. “You were stiff when you got up and you tense your jaw when you’re in pain.”
His gaze strays down to your left forearm, the one with the dimples in from the pins that hold it together. The marks are invisible underneath the sleeve of your shirt but he knows that they’re there. You showed them to him when explained the problem with Bobby D’Amico.
“I don’t like taking them unless I have to.” He says finally as he tips two tablets into his hand before setting them on the saucer alongside his tea. “They make me tired.”
“Then I best get going then so you can pop a couple and tuck yourself into bed.” You say as you reach into your Hermes purse and remove the expensive cream envelope. You set it on the table between the two of you and Bill frowns as he studies it.
“It’s heavier than usual.” He states.
“There’s a lot of events this week. The ballet and the opera are in town and nobody wants to go alone.” You inform him as you close your purse again.
“You could have just paid me the same amount and I wouldn’t have been any the wiser.” He says mildly, his palm coming to rest on the envelope.
“You know I don’t work like that.” You say as you gesture between the two of you. “This relationship works because there’s trust and I would never do anything to break that Bill.”
He knows that, you’ve proven to be nothing but loyal in the few years you’ve worked together. It’s the reason he lets his guard down around you, allows you to boss him around a little. You’re right, he is shitty about taking care of himself, he’s too busy taking care of everyone else.
You raise to your feet and Bill tries to follow suit, hissing through his teeth at the pain that ricochets through his spine. You place a gentle hand on his arm indicating for him to stay seated.
“Bill.” You says kindly. “Be a good boy, take your pills and go to bed. I can see myself out.”
A flush creeps across his features at the use of ‘good boy’ before you press a featherlight kiss to his cheek. Your perfume floods his senses, the dark, sensual undertone of amber, the rich, almost floral scent of patchouli. He closes his eyes for a moment and he wonders what it must feel like to be loved by a woman like you, to have your entire attention.
He swallows hard when you pull away, stifling the desire to ask you to stay.
“Good night Bill.” You say and he hears your footsteps disappear down the hall before the front door shuts quietly behind you.
That claustrophobic silence rushes back to greet him and he sighs as he picks up the envelope and begins to count the cash. It’s only when he gets to the bottom that he finds the tickets, two of them for an exclusive whiskey tasting event in a couple of days’ time. There’s a note tucked around them, written in your tidy handwriting.
If you want to get out of the ranch for an evening…
His thumb traces over the words before he withdraws his phone from his back pocket. He takes a picture of the tickets, scrolling down to your name and typing out a message.
Only if you accompany me Julia.
He sets his phone down alongside his teacup before he puts the tablets in his mouth and washes them down with the last of the Earl Grey. His attention shifts to his phone as it chimes with your response.
Well Bill, I do enjoy a good single malt.

BNHA Observations, speculations and assorted info: Todoroki Mansion (Part 3: Training Hall)
So, in order to write my fic, I spend much time observing canon scenes, comparing the manga and the anime version, take note of details, translations and info in them as well as finding out how are some things called.
Since what I noticed/speculated/found out can be of use for other fic authors I thought to share as well.
Resources:
Chap. 39 “Todoroki Shōto: Origin” (轟焦凍:オリジン Todoroki Shōto: Origin) Chap. 95 “End of the Beginning, Beginning of the End” (始まりの終わり 終わりの始まり Hajimari no Owari Owari no Hajimari) Chap. 202 “Match 3” (第3セット Daisan Set) Chap. 290 “Dabi's Dance” (ダビダンス Dabi Dance) Chap. 291 “Thanks For Going Strong” (元気でいてくれてありがとう Genkide Ite Kurete Arigatō) Chap. 359 “Bound to a Fiery Fate” (エン En)*
Ep. 23 “Todoroki Shōto: Origin” (轟 焦凍:オリジン Todoroki Shōto: Origin) Ep. 50 “End of the Beginning, Beginning of the End” ( 始まりの終わり 終わりの始まり Hajimari no Owari Owari no Hajimari) Ep. 95 “Match 3” (第3試合 Daisan Shiai) Ep. 124 “Dabi's Dance” (ダビダンス Dabi Dance)
OAV “Save! Rescue Training” (救え!救助訓練! Sukue! Kyūjo Kunren!)
-* In Japanese the title is written in Katakana, making impossible to figure out to which Kanji it refers. The reading for 'en' belongs to the kanji that can be translated as "flame/fire" (the first kanji in Enji's name) but also to the one that can be translated as "fate/destiny", "bond/connection/family ties" and "hatred". The English translation tried to put all those meaning together into a single sentence.
OBSERVATIONS, SPECULATIONS AND ASSORTED INFO:
The "Training hall" (訓練場 ‘Kunrenjō’) is that place in the Todoroki mansion where Enji trains himself and his children (Touya and Shouto).
Actually, although the Enligh version calls it "training hall" the 'jō' (場) part can mean "place", "spot" but also "arena", "stadium".
HOW ONE REACHES IT?
From the Genkan, taking the corridor on the right and walk through it till then end...
...turn on the left and keep walking through what should be the engawa...
...then turn on the left again and continue until you reach this building.
...and get through the Shōji door with lower door panel above which there's the sign 'training hall'.
In case you don'r know, Shōji (障子) are doors, windows or room dividers used in traditional Japanese architecture, consisting of translucent (or transparent) sheets on a lattice frame.

In the anime just take the corridor on the right...

...and keep walking until you reach a Mairado door...

...above which there's the sign 'training hall'

By the way, Mairado (舞良戸) are a wooden sliding door constructed of a single wooden panel, the Wataita (綿板), and set into a timber frame, the Kamachi (框). It is characterized by the addition of thin parallel crosspieces, the Mairako (舞良子) set horizontally on both sides of the panel.

HOW DOES IT LOOK INSIDE?
In the manga it's usually a bare, large room (only once it's shown to have inside training equipment) with a Shōji door with a lower door panel to get in and a Shōji window on the right, a wooden floor...

... and a Saobuchi tenjō (竿縁天井 "rod edge ceiling") ceiling, a flat wood ceiling supported by narrow wood beams.

In the anime (and in the OAV) also have a moment in which they show it filled with training equipment...

...while in other episodes it seems to be empty.

The anime add an extra space in it, which seems empty if not for a Mairado door and with a sign above it with some writing that can't be deciphred.

On the sides of the Maraido door that leads in one can see Shinai and Bokken.

BTW Shinai are the swords used to practice Kendō (剣道)...
...while Bokken (木剣 "wood sword"), also called Bokutō (木刀) are Japanese wooden swords used for training in kenjutsu which are usually the size and shape of a katana.

By the way, I said the anime gives to the room a Maraido door... though in one episode the door seems to be a Shōji one (the visual is poor though so I might be mistaken)...

and in the OAV it seems to be a Fusuma one...

So yeah, the anime isn't really sure how the room is structured either.
As if to make matters weirder, the anime also gives Enji a small room that's filled with training equipment along with a tv and tatami floor instead that wooden floor like the training hall...

BTW Tatami (畳) is a type of mat used as a flooring material in traditional Japanese-style rooms.

In the manga we can't see what's inside this room beyond the fact it has a TV...
...all that's visible is the Fusuma door... so of course the anime felt obliged to instead give it a Shōji one.

In the manga the fact the room has a Fusuma door makes impossible for this room to be the dining room (even if Rei is bringing Enji food). In the manga the room is probably meant to be the tv room (in it there's a Fusuma door as well as the tv).
Why the anime felt the need to change things and turn this into a different room is beyond me.

Gelatinous Cube in a Dungeon
Another attempt at starting a quick project series where the second entry immediately got well out of hand, though it did produce an element that I’m quite happy with, so I’ll post that later.
This first piece is an exercise to try and get my head around Blender’s Geometry Nodes system, at least a little bit. Here I’ve been following two main tutorials, one for distributing air bubbles inside a volume, and one for creating a brick wall on a curve; there was also another video that helped with erasing bubbles that escaped from cube, but for the life of me I can’t find that one again.
Edit -- Breakdown of Blender process and links to relevant tutorials now below the fold, now I know I can add a fold.
The Gelatinous Cube
The gelatinous cube’s mesh is just a cube primitive that’s been gently subdivided and rounded off, and then pinched in around the middle a little so it looks like it’s squishing down toward the floor.
Its surface shader is just a couple of noise textures, fed into a Voronoi texture, then fed into a Musgrave texture, which is then fed through a whole bunch of colour ramps into the Principled BSDF shader’s various inputs to make something glistening, organic, and unpleasant looking.
The same Musgrave is colour multiplied with a couple of different quadratic sphere gradients to feed into the density and emission strength channels of a Principled Volume shader, to give the impression of a thick, viscous, turbulent interior and a glow nucleus. (I know gelatinous cubes are supposed to be completely translucent, but that’s not as visually interesting.)
The main bubble distribution is adapted from this tutorial video by Via Crescendo,
youtube
but I’ve also used the newer than that tutorial “Distribute points in Volume” node to create some more randomly placed bubbles, using a node group from the third tutorial (the one that I can’t find again) that does some maths I don’t understand to erase any instances that leave the bounds of the geometry.
The Dungeon Walls and Floor
The dungeon floor (and ceiling) are by far the simplest things here, they’re just a single tile model that’s been distributed on a grid with the Z position set to randomly jiggle a bit so it looks old and tumbledown.
The walls are more complicated, I’m mostly following a tutorial for generating a brick wall along a curve by Joey Carlino,
youtube
that I’ve modified to instance from a collection of square bricks instead of a single rectangular brick and this random instancing is where the limits of my understanding are reached, as something this node system does means that points get instanced on in pairs which are sometimes adjacent, and sometimes not… This has led to my three ‘detail’ bricks being more clustered in their distribution that I’d like, but the effect this there at least.
Brick variants wise, going from right-to-left there is, the standard brick which has a heavily worn stone material, a brick with an inset corroded copper mirror, a brick with an inset panel of ‘hieroglyphs’ that have been worn away, and a hollow brick with a glowing gem surrounded by corroded copper mirrors (because the ‘unexplored dungeon lit by burning torches’ trope bothers me).

The doors of the Spanish-style palace had been thrown wide open, inviting all to join in on this momentous celebration. Warm, tropical breezes danced down the airy halls, guiding all towards the palace’s throne room turned ballroom….
Magia witches and warlocks had gone above and beyond for the coronation celebration of their new Queen and coven leader. Floating boxes filled with twinkling light floated against the ceiling of the ballroom, the once creamy marble floors magicked to follow the fiery theme of the night. Long, rectangular tables and smaller, circular ones created a barrier around the inset dance floor, their surfaces covered in silky black cloth much like the walls themselves. Clear glass chairs were the seat of choice, once again magicked to prevent them from breaking, while flowers of such a dark red that they seemed black in the dim light made up the centerpieces amidst silver and glass cutlery.
A single chair was set behind a small table upon the raised dais, the seat of honor for the young Queen. Upon her entrance to the ballroom, the floating boxes dimmed and fabric flowed upwards to form translucent canopy while large chandeliers dropped down seemingly from no where to hang just beyond the dinner tables. Black panels flared to burning orange, giving the room a fiery feel as the young Davina strode through the grand doors — dressed in a shimmering gown of flowing red, orange, and gold gossamer layers and sparkling hair piece of red, black, and silver.

Then the fun would begin…instruments without musicians would begin to play…inviting guests onto the dance floor as plates of food magically appeared upon the tables…glazed pheasant, roasted potatoes, seasoned rice, slices of fish, and thin circular breads to wrap things in. All while Magia’s Queen took her place upon the dais to oversee the event…

CLASSIFIED DOSSIER – SHADOW WATCH
Authorised excerpt by LIN XIANG, extracted from Delta Mission – Section: BioStructure & Purpose
File recovered from encrypted node linked to: https://www.wattpad.com/1546905625-undisclosed-chapter-seven-invisible-bonds
Origin
A project developed by Specter Vault, under direct supervision of the Binary Parents. Not built. Synthesised — like a liver grown in a lab, cell by cell, tissue by tissue.
"She wasn't born. She was composed."
External Structure – Organic Armour
She wears a living shell. Overlapping plates shift like gills beneath the ocean’s skin. Each one built from biological matter, reinforced with synthesised organic carbon — forming an asymmetrical armour that breathes.
Her form:
Part ancient turtle shell
Part fossilised titan ribs
Part abyssal predator’s carapace
When dormant: a fossil. When alert: edges glow with amber heat, shifting from bluish-grey to deep red-purple — like a wound that remembers.
Her armour doesn’t deflect. It absorbs, disperses, scars, and heals. No shields. No illusions.
Behaviour and Interface
She rejects mechanical language.
The Shadow Watch responds only to emotion and direct neural intent:
"Turn left." "Open access." "Approach."
But only if your brainwaves match the one she knows.
Only one has ever connected: Evelyn #134
This connection is not control. It is symbiosis.
Energy Source
She breathes. She converts. She feels. No fossil fuel. No fusion. No sun.
Her biochemical core mimics ATP generation in living organisms — metabolising:
Heat
Oxygen
Glucose
Nerve impulses
into bioactive electricity.
She doesn’t run. She lives.
Interior – Organic Internal Structure
Inside her: a living labyrinth.
Walls like moist bone, threaded with fibres that pulse like veins. Corridors that breathe, expanding and contracting in rhythm with your presence.
Amber light flows through her like blood. The floor recognises your step. The ceiling pulses like a heartbeat.
Chambers are divided by translucent membranes — soft barriers that dissolve at your touch, then seal again as if nothing passed.
Her “control panel” is a neural chamber — not metal, but flesh. The pilot stands within a damp niche, embraced by a semi-translucent membrane that reads pulse, breath, thought.
Luminous filaments link to wrists and temples, creating a direct neural interface.
Positioned deeper into the chamber, three reclining biotechnological chairs curve organically from the floor — grown, not built. Each is tilted at a 40-degree angle, cradling its occupant like a protective exoshell. Integrated headrests enclose the skull, forming sealed sensory helms.
These helms aren’t screens. There are no windows. No glass. No projected images.
The Shadow Watch perceives the outside world through a vast array of living sensors embedded across its hull — and shares these perceptions directly with the mind.
"You don’t look through the ship. The ship shows you what she sees."
Information isn’t projected. It blooms — suspended in glowing particles only the bonded mind can read.
"It isn't a ship. It's a womb aware of its birthright — to protect… or punish."

Shanghai MSD Film for Modern Hospitality Environments
As architects and lighting designers search for new ways to enhance ambient light in built environments, Printable Translucent Film has become a favored solution due to its ability to both transmit and shape illumination. At Shanghai MSD International Trade Co., Ltd., the film is developed specifically for precision printing and seamless integration into modern lighting systems.
The film’s semi-opaque properties allow it to scatter light softly across surfaces, creating even brightness without harsh hotspots. This makes it an ideal material for backlit ceilings, LED signage, and architectural lighting features in commercial complexes. When printed with UV-curable inks, Printable Translucent Film retains vivid colors and crisp details, maintaining visual appeal over time even under strong artificial lighting.
In hospitality venues such as hotels and lounges, the film is used to produce illuminated murals or custom-printed lightboxes that shift the mood of the space. Designers can play with gradients, shapes, and branded elements to deliver immersive visual experiences. Because of its light-weight and flexibility, Printable Translucent Film can be installed on curved panels or ceilings where traditional rigid panels would fail.
Transportation hubs such as airports and subway stations also benefit from the application of this film. It is commonly used in wayfinding systems and digital display diffusers where consistent illumination is critical. The film’s durability and flame-retardant qualities, available in select MSD variations, make it a safe and long-lasting solution in high-traffic zones.
Shanghai MSD provides custom lamination options to increase moisture resistance and print protection, enabling use in spa facilities, bathrooms, or humid climates. These value-added services distinguish their offerings from standard stock films, giving clients enhanced longevity and tailored performance.
The company’s strong emphasis on production quality and surface uniformity has made it a trusted supplier for design firms and OEM manufacturers alike. With Shanghai MSD’s ongoing innovation in translucent film production, lighting designers have more freedom than ever to fuse function and beauty in their projects. For technical specifications and custom order inquiries, visit: https://www.shanghaimsd.com

The 5 coolest stadiums staging FIFA World Cup 2026 games
Once every four years, the FIFA World Cup brings the world focus onto its host nation and city. And in 2026, that focus will be multiplied by 16 as a group of cities from Mexico City all the way to Boston stage games within a span of five weeks. Every city will get a lot of coverage, but the single building in each city that will receive the most coverage will be its stadium, with each hosting between five and eight games.

Every city’s stadium on the list is a combination of local character and contemporary style, from the open-air wonder of SoFi Stadium just outside of LA to the artwork-filled AT&T Stadium in Texas. Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca will be branded as the primary stadium to host the World Cup inaugural games, then Vancouver’s BC Place will be certain to stage a nighttime spectacle with awnings and drapes around the world on its exterior, covered in millions of multi-colored lights.
As supporters get ready to converge on these cities, the stadiums themselves are ready to be as integral a part of the experience as the World Cup games, they will host. These are five of the hippest World Cup stadiums ready to take the spotlight in 2026, if you’re interested in traveling for the games but haven’t yet decided precisely which city — or cities — you wish to explore.
SoFi Stadium to Host FIFA World Cup 2026 Matches
SoFi Stadium is an engineering and design masterpiece. Its most striking aspect is a single layer of tough plastic roof that happens to be translucent. It spans over the field and seating bowl while staying open on the sides. It serves as a projection surface, and jets landing at LAX can look down at the enormous message board. For the visitors to the stadium, it allows lots of light in but prevents some of the UV rays.

There’s also a massive 360-degree, HDR video board suspended above the center of the field, in the form of a giant loop whose screens are visible on every side. It allows every seat in the stadium to view the action, even up in the higher levels. And where views are concerned, you won’t lose sight of the action if you have to go grab a hot dog, as the concourses are open.
And when you’re walking about before and afterward matches, there’s plenty to see, including large outdoor statues near the entrances, then green spaces everywhere in the stadium, then an art gallery inside the stadium. In the previous, it has held exhibitions on African American art, then history finished partnerships with local art galleries. There are too many murals in Hollywood Park, the mixed-use interplanetary around the SoFi ground. No statement yet on what exhibitions will be on display during the World Cup.
FIFA 2026 Matches Scheduled at Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Inside, Mercedes-Benz Arena has the largest video panel of any sports arena in North America, so it’s one of the best sites for watching a match if you’re only willing to mechanism for seats in the spinal. One feature you’ll poster inside the stadium is the wall on 1 side. It’s a floor-to-ceiling window that covers manifold concourses and appearances out on downtown Atlanta.
It gives the complete stadium a contemporary look, which be situated astonishing, seeing it just opened in 2017. It’s also 1 of the most maintainable World Cup Stadiums, through more than 4,000 solar plates on the external and a rain capture system towards reduce water consumption.
Football World Cup Heads to Estadio Azteca Again
Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca (formerly known as Stadium Banorte) is perhaps the most spectacular and historically important World Cup stadium. Architecturally, it’s together massive and brutalist, the effort of two Mexican midcentury designers. design. Built into the magma plains of Mexico City’s Coyoacán area, the stadium’s real framework was calculated by Pedro Ramírez Vázquez and Rafael Mijares Alcérreca, 2 of Mexico’s highest mid-century architects.

The steeply tiered stands and open-air design make it a coliseum-like structure, with a sunken field area to add extra visibility and acoustics — deafening, it’s commonly described. There isn’t a seat in the house that’s less than perfect, and it was one of the first to ever be built without inside pylons, guaranteeing no viewer a blocked view.
This stadium has been recently renovated to get ready for 2026, with seating, lighting, media areas, and circulation improvements. The stadium museum contains exhibits about Pelé and Maradona, and guided tours are provided on match or event-free days in the stadium. It has a orchestra capacity of somewhat more than 83,000 and stands tied with NY/NJ for the largest World Cup stadium size.
BC Place Gears Up for Football World Cup 2026

A year-round, publicly available museum to the sport history of British Columbia, with memorabilia displays and interactive features. Inside, it is the Indigenous Sport Gallery, honoring First Nations athletes, too frequently omitted from general sporting history. Another distinctive feature of BC Place is that the outside serves as a city-wide billboard.
The lights are programmable in millions of color combinations and are often employed for public campaigns and events. It’s typically lit most nights until about 11 AM in Northern Lights-themed colors, but it may be aglow in white and red for the World Cup games in solidarity.
AT&T Stadium Among Hosts for FIFA World Cup 2026
It was initiated by the owners of the Dallas Cowboys and features over two dozen large-scale installations by globally known artists such as Olafur Eliasson, Anish Kapoor, Doug Aitken, and Jenny Holzer — artists whose works are normally seen in major museums, not stadiums. Art is spread out across club spaces, in suite levels, on concourses, and even stairwells. It’s meant to be available to the masses, not confined to VIP spaces, so no gallery space exists.
The stadium was created in collaboration with the Public Art Program of North Texas, and is essentially a privately funded analog of a percent-based public art program. Few World Cup venues centered on sports make art an integral part of the visitor experience, so AT&T Stadium is a treat for sports- and arts-interested individuals.

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Build a 3-Season Room
Imagine sipping your morning coffee in a cozy, sunlit space that’s just the right temperature, no matter the season—except winter, of course. A three-season room is the perfect middle ground between a full-blown addition and a screened-in porch. It keeps the bugs out, lets the fresh air in, and extends your living space without the cost of full insulation and HVAC.
If you’re in South Bend or the surrounding areas, a three-season room can be a game-changer, offering a retreat for spring breezes, summer lounging, and crisp autumn mornings. Whether you’re a DIY enthusiast or planning to hire professionals, this guide will walk you through the essential steps to build a three-season room that fits your lifestyle.
What Exactly Is a Three-Season Room?
Before we start hammering and measuring, let’s clarify what we’re building.
A three-season room is an enclosed space, typically built on an existing deck or patio, designed for use in spring, summer, and fall. Unlike a four-season sunroom, it doesn’t have insulation or a permanent heating and cooling system. The goal? Protection from bugs, rain, and wind—without the expense of a fully climate-controlled space.
These rooms are popular among:
Homeowners looking for an affordable home upgrade
Retirees who want a peaceful, bug-free outdoor retreat
Families needing extra space for relaxation or play
Airbnb hosts or real estate investors looking to boost property appeal
Home gardeners who want a greenhouse-like setup
Pet owners seeking a safe indoor-outdoor space
If any of that sounds like you, let’s get building.
Plan Your Space Like a Pro
Assess Your Foundation
First things first—where’s this room going? Most people build on an existing deck, patio, or concrete slab. If you don’t have one, you’ll need to pour a new foundation. Check for:
Stability – If you’re using a deck, make sure it’s in good shape and up to code.
Drainage – You don’t want water pooling underneath.
Sunlight Exposure – Do you want morning sun, evening shade, or both?
Check Local Building Codes
South Bend and its nearby areas have zoning regulations and permit requirements for home additions. Call your local building department or consult a professional to avoid surprises down the road.
Decide on a Layout & Size
Small & cozy (10’ x 12’) – Ideal for reading nooks or plant havens.
Medium (12’ x 16’) – Enough space for a small dining set and lounging area.
Large (16’ x 20’ or more) – Perfect for entertaining guests.
Got pets? Consider built-in pet doors or scratch-resistant screens. Want it to double as a workspace? Think electrical outlets and built-in shelving.
Choose Your Materials Wisely
A three-season room is only as good as the materials you use. Here’s what to keep in mind:
Walls & Framing
Aluminum framing – Lightweight, durable, and rust-resistant.
Wood framing – Aesthetic and strong, but requires sealing against moisture.
Vinyl options – Low-maintenance and cost-effective.
Windows & Screens
This is where the magic happens—balancing airflow with protection.
Floor-to-ceiling windows – More light, better views.
Sliding glass panels – For easy ventilation and versatility.
Retractable screens – Great if you want open-air flexibility.
Polycarbonate panels – A budget-friendly alternative to glass.
Roofing Options
Solid roofs (shingles, metal, or polycarbonate) – More shade and protection.
Translucent panels – Bring in natural light without direct sun glare.
Gable vs. Shed-style roofs – Gable gives a traditional pitched look; shed-style is modern and minimal.
Flooring Choices
Concrete – Low-maintenance but might feel cold.
Tile – Great for a stylish, easy-to-clean surface.
Luxury Vinyl Planks (LVP) – Water-resistant and warm underfoot.
Outdoor carpet – Comfortable and cozy.
Frame and Build Your Three-Season Room
Now for the fun part—construction!
1. Secure the Foundation
If you’re building on a deck, reinforce it with additional support beams if necessary. For a concrete slab, ensure it’s level before starting.
2. Frame the Walls & Roof
Use treated lumber or aluminum framing to create the room’s skeleton. Attach the frame securely to the existing house wall for stability.
3. Install Windows & Screens
This step depends on your window style:
Sliding panels require tracks.
Retractable screens need proper alignment.
Fixed glass panels should be sealed to prevent leaks.
4. Add Electrical Wiring (Optional)
If you want ceiling fans, outlets, or lighting, now’s the time to install wiring. Hire a licensed electrician if you’re unsure about local electrical codes.
5. Secure the Roofing & Seal the Gaps
Use flashing where the roof meets the house to prevent leaks.
Add weather stripping around doors and windows to keep out drafts.
If using polycarbonate panels, ensure they’re UV-resistant.
Finishing Touches
With the structure up, it’s time to bring your vision to life.
Furnish for Comfort
Cozy seating – Think cushioned chairs, hammocks, or a small sectional.
Lighting – String lights, LED strips, or pendant lights for ambiance.
Ceiling fans – Keeps air circulating in warmer months.
Décor & Functional Additions
Plants & Greenery – A three-season room is perfect for potted herbs, ferns, and succulents.
Outdoor Rugs – Adds warmth and ties the space together.
Storage Benches – Hide blankets, games, and outdoor essentials.
Temperature Control Hacks
Portable heaters – Extend the use into early winter.
Thermal curtains – Keep warmth in during cooler nights.
Ceiling fans or vented windows – Help with summer airflow.
Enjoy Your New Three-Season Room
And just like that, your home has a brand-new space to enjoy. Whether you’re using it for morning coffee, sunset drinks, or as a quiet workspace, a three-season room adds comfort, value, and beauty to your home—without the cost of a full room addition.
Thinking about getting yours professionally built? If you’re in South Bend or nearby areas, check out Screenmobile of South Bend for expert advice, custom screen options, and professional installation.
So, what’s your vision? A breezy plant-filled retreat? A laid-back outdoor lounge? A cozy game night hub? No matter what you choose, your three-season room will be a space you’ll love for years to come.

Pairing sheer curtains with blackout curtains or blinds enhances both functionality and aesthetics. This combination offers better light control and added privacy when needed.
How to Choose the Right Sheer Curtains for Your Living Room
1. Consider the Fabric
Polyester: Affordable, durable, and easy to maintain.
Cotton: Natural and breathable, but may wrinkle easily.
Linen: Elegant and textured, offering a relaxed look.
Silk: Luxurious and sophisticated but requires careful maintenance.
2. Select the Right Color
Neutral tones (white, beige, and gray) create a serene and sophisticated atmosphere.
Bold colors (blue, green, or mustard) can add a pop of vibrancy.
Sheer curtains with ombre or dual-tone effects can add dimension.
3. Choose the Appropriate Length and Width
Floor-length sheers create an elongated and dramatic effect.
Sill-length sheers are suitable for casual and compact spaces.
Extra-wide sheers provide a fuller, more luxurious look.
4. Decide on the Hanging Style
Rod Pocket: A traditional and simple style that creates soft pleats.
Grommet Top: Modern and easy to slide open and close.
Tab Top: Casual and relaxed appearance with fabric loops.
Sheer Curtain Panels with Rings: Offers smooth movement and a polished look.
Installation and Maintenance Tips
Installation Tips:
Use double curtain rods if layering with heavier drapes.
Hang sheers higher than the window frame to create the illusion of taller ceilings.
Opt for wide panels to achieve a fuller look.
Ensure rods and brackets are sturdy enough to hold the weight of the curtains.
Maintenance Tips:
Regular Dusting: Use a feather duster or vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment.
Machine Wash with Care: Use a gentle cycle with mild detergent to avoid damaging the fabric.
Avoid Direct Sun Exposure: Prolonged sunlight exposure can fade the colors over time. Use UV-protective sheers if needed.
Steam or Iron Gently: Use a low-heat setting to remove wrinkles without damaging delicate fabrics.
Customization Options
1. Tailored Fit
Many homeowners prefer custom-made sheer curtains to ensure a perfect fit for their windows. Bespoke options allow for precise measurements and unique designs that match specific interior aesthetics.
2. Layered Designs
Custom layering options let you pair sheer curtains with blackout drapes, roman shades, or blinds for added versatility.
3. Embroidery and Custom Prints
Personalized designs such as embroidered initials, floral patterns, or geometric prints add a unique touch to sheer curtains.

Motorized sheer curtains allow for remote or app-based control, offering convenience and a modern touch to your living space.
