Last week we had the Royal Marines contact us enquiring about a service and repair of the turbo from a Pinzgauer High-Mobility All-Terrain Vehicle which has been mobilised to help during this coronavirus outbreak.
Being a second generation Pinzgauer the engine was a VW 2.4 inline six with a Garrett T3 turbocharger.

Coupe and Roadster the Porsche 718 T: the new version for the purists
A year ago, the modification with the prefix T (Touring) was introduced in the Porsche 911 range, and customers have adopted it so well that the company decided to create a similar option in younger family 718, which includes models Boxster and Cayman. Philosophy has remained unchanged: the T-model is positioned as a version for the purists that do not have extra equipment in the cabin, but the addition of driverscom “iron”.
It is based on base two-liter Porsche 718 with turboservice 300 HP Can be ordered as a six-speed “mechanics” and a seven-step “robot” PDK dual clutch. And in addition Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman T T by default equipped with an adaptive suspension with PASM reduced by 20 mm ground clearance (before it was available for cars with two-liter engine), Sport Chrono package, limited slip differential, 20-inch wheels instead of the standard 18-inch and the sports exhaust system with dual pipes.
In standard, there is no media system and buttons on the steering wheel — instead, they flaunt holes and plugs. However, all this can be enjoyed at no additional cost. Inner door handles are replaced by cloth loops, and the gear lever is a bit short. Finally, the T version has a special interior with red stitching on the seats and glossy inserts on the front panel, although the decoration can be replaced at the customer’s request.
In contrast to the model of Porsche 911 Carrera T Junior “purists” were not faster than the base model. T and Boxster, and Cayman T can accelerate to 100 km/h in 5.1 s in the variant with the “mechanics” and 4.7 with the version with “robot” — this performance standard modifications with a 300-horsepower engine. The maximum speed is also not changed: 275 km/h for all versions.
But in the end, the modification of the T goes to 5-10% cheaper than the base model with a similar set of options, although the exact price has not yet been named. Sales purist coupe and Roadster will begin in the near future.

We do a range of hybrid upgrades for the VAG 2.0 TFSI K03 and K04 engines. These engines are seen in many cars across the SEAT, VW, Audi and Skoda range. The normal output on these engines tends to be 200-260bhp but they are very tuneable units with 360bhp being quite achievable before needing to work on the engine's internals. Once forged and fitted with a big turbo, these engines have been seen to push out way over 500bhp!
