Understatement Master Post

understatement is an idea i came up with after an anon ask by @not-ready-for-gaster

thank you!!!

Understatement takes place in a timeline where mettaton saw potential in his extreme popularity, he started a buisness (MettaCo.) and basically bought out everything in the underground, creating a monopoly

since basically the only available jobs are at mettaco, everyone works there, filing reports and stuff on new fallen humans

though asgore is still in the political role of king, mettaton basically has power over everything in the underground and therefore is functionally the king, making all the decisions using his money

Alphys was the monster who created mettaton and by far the smartest, she was spared most of the suffering everyone else goes through by being mettatons assistant, working at the desk in front of his office (inside an office building that is placed where mtt resort would have been)

Undyne, Papyrus, and Sans* all work in the human capturing department, their pay depends on how many humans they capture in a year... meaning they dont get paid very much. they have alot of paperwork and basically are the typical "office job" folk

*sans was fired from his job for being a lazy bum and is now a deadbeat alchoholic, papyrus has to work twice as hard to provide for them and is very tired and anxious

Muffet, Grillby, and the Temmies all work as fast food employees at MtDonalds, they again, dont get paid much, and are also much more irratable than they usually are

Toriel is homeless, living in the ruins (witch has been turned into a garbage dump) and living off the waste and help of her fellow outcasts, making what is basically a homeless encampment

Mettaton and Asgore are both in "Power" positions, they each have a ton of money and generally have it pretty good, mettaton is now an extremely talented buisness man and asgore is blissfully unaware of mettaton pulling the strings of the whole operation

everyone (excluding the previous 2) are much much more tired and less enthusiastic about everything that happens, they just want you to leave them alone so they can go home and rest
