US Joint Special Operations Command (USJSOC) and Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) maintain historian offices. There are indeed special forces historians. While this brings to mind the hilarious mental image of a revwar continental army soldier with NVGs, it’s usually some old dude with extremely high security clearances. The thing is, like, 99% of everything these historians do is classified. They’re handling the day to day archival of SOF unit work and operations, for the most part. Personally I think it’s funny as fuck. Guys who are in the entire profession known for going through dirty laundry, reading the gossip of dead people, and everything they do, everything they handle, is covered in black ink and buried for decades. Every single thing they handle will be classified for decades. They probably won’t be alive for when the first record they handled is declassified and given to the public

National Security Brief: Summary In VA, on May 3rd; two men who had entered the U.S. illegally (Jordanian foreign nationals who "recently crossed the southern border into the U.S.") approached a security gate at Marine Corps Base Quantico. The men claimed to be Amazon delivery persons. Security personnel advised the driver to move forward to a secondary security area for further inspection, the driver refused an order to "halt" and accelerated attempting to navigate into the interior of the "Town of Quantico". Security personnel activated barriers, which prevented further entry. One of the men has been reported to have been on the U.S. terrorist watch list.  Two days after the attempted Quantico breach, a person crashed into the White House gates and died (similar breach attempted on Jan 8th and in both cases, mainstream media and Gov. were silent). In late April, a vehicle tried to enter Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story in Virginia Beach; the driver died in the crash. In late March, a Chinese national tried to access Twentynine Palms, was detained, and handed over to ICE. In early April a person attempted to breach an FBI field office by ramming a vehicle through the employee entrance gate. The vehicle was stopped by a security apparatus and the man was arrested. Separately, 3 Chinese nationals were captured after crossing over the Canadian border to the U.S. at Fort Fairfield, ME. Finally, in NC near Ft. Liberty (Ft. BRAD THOMAS Brad’s US Army career spanned twenty years, starting at 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment in the early 90’s before taking the “long walk” and becoming an operator with 1st SFOD-D (Delta Force). Downing 3 times in two years. In Mogadishu, we talked for a few minutes outside the hangar and he told me to quit smoking. I told him I would quit when the bullets stopped flying. A little less than a year later, I met him at the back of my aircraft headed to Haiti for the big invasion (that never happened). I was one of the jump masters for the combat jump and had finished rigging and JMPI’ing everyone on the bird and was out back firing up lung rocket when he rolled up in a vehicle and told me we were on a 24 hour delay... and then said “hey SGT Thomas I thought I told you to quit smoking” - I was surprised he remembered me from Mogadishu. Investigatory Brief: Chechen Trespass/Death near Fort Liberty In Carthage, NC on May 3rd; an active U.S. Army Special Operations Command soldier shot and killed a Chechen man who was trespassing. The man is reported by mainstream media to be from Illinois however an international identification found in an associated vehicle, Russian contacts in a seized cell phone, and a petition filed by his alleged family indicate he was from Chechnya. The man, Ramzan Daraev, was reportedly taking photos on private property in cooperation with a second man, Dzhankutov Adsalan, when confronted by the homeowner (USASOC soldier, no rank or name released but reliable sources say he was an O6/Colonel). The suspect reportedly became "aggressive" and was shot in apparent self-defense. The suspect's Russian speaking family claims he was a subcontractor working for a utilities company, but law enforcement has not been able to confirm that claim. The suspect was not carrying identification, was wearing civilian clothing, arrived in a privately owned vehicle, and had no work equipment. The FBI is assisting, including offering translation for the second male who is possibly involved but was released shortly after. The incident location is situated in proximity to Fort Bragg (now renamed, Fort Liberty). Special Operations Soldiers introduced Hardy to a variety of facilities and capabilities throughout the command, dined at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School dining facility, and enjoyed interactive discussions. The visit was facilitated by our friends at the USO of North Carolina!
