Hi Jade! Hope uni has been well. What would you recommend on doing in the Christmas holidays before Y12 Term 2 starts? Is it too much to write out all my notes for the next 2 modules ahead of time? Sorry for bombarding you with questions, but is it ideal to focus on UMAT/ucat study this holidays rather than the holidays right before?
Hey! Hope you’ve been doing well as well. I honestly wouldn’t stress too much about studying that much this holidays- I think if you want to, go and compile past HSC questions within topics (within your subjects- though you guys have the new syllabus so it’s a bit more difficult). I think it isn’t too much to write out your notes but really think to yourself if there is any point/advantage of you doing so- because you’re going to have to learn it again during school if you get me.
I didn’t start UCAT/UMAT (i only did UMAT since it didn’t change for us yet in 2017) until maybe T2 holidays but admittedly I had done a UMAT course in August the year before (Year 11). I think focus on HSC study this holidays.
Just some general advice with UMAT study- treat it as if it’s another subject- because it’s 1/3 of your entry into medicine (with interview + ATAR) so it’s pretty important you spend your time on it. Good luck!!! <3
