CONCEPT:

WHAT (is the project?)

Taking out an Architectural project, by designing an environment for the needs of people in the area of Duki, district in the Balochistan, province of Pakistan where they experience low quality of life. We are creating the solutions for them to improve their lifestyle by considering the negative impacts on their lives.

WHY (is it interesting / are you doing it?)

Making a Portfolio for a career into Architectural with skills gained in Revit and things worked around it as the project progresses. It is compelling because we found a way to solve a real-life issue while manipulating the technical and mechanical skills towards the skills needed for the job as Architectural.

WHO (is in your team?)

1: HOW..of the concept??? (Story of my life)... I was in a rush to build my own portfolio while Hooryah had a problem to solve. We fell into a research collaboration into solving this issue while I was still stuck with my idea of building a portfolio. Many multidisciplinary research were considered for other options we could play around with but one chosen research ([click here to revisit] mentioned in my previous blog) found a path where I could carry on with my portfolio, solving more than one issue for this chosen area for this project. 

HOW (are you to go about doing it?)

Working with an Architect from Architect Design & Modeling Services, meeting recommended clients around the community to understand how, why and what they would demand for their spaces and consider the aspects for the concept given. Also, I am taking ‘Research Practicum’ paper to compliment my Studio, basing off culture.

This week represents the end of the fifth year of the UnderstandingSociety blog. Writing the blog continues to be a source of great intellectual growth for me, not least because it has led me to read and discuss books and articles I wouldn’t otherwise have encountered. Readers have often suggested sources I hadn’t previously known about, and the result is often a new perspective on a new problem…
