Considering Allen has a habit of being adored by little kids (especially little girls) I can't help but think he and Lucia will become friends. XD Lucia would be a good friend for Allen to have besides Lavi during the bookman arc (if she's a clan member). She'd be even less emotionally involved (as far as bookman go) because of her young age and most likely having her own curiosity to discover things. Therefore probably help Allen look into things Lavi might not be able to from his position.

She seems like a less hyperactive child than those we have met thus far (for the characters who have more than one scene i mean). So she might be more paused and honestly she kinda strikes to me as more mature than her age would let show. Makes me think that like Lavi she undergoes the Bookman’s emotional rules, which could be kinda striking to see in a child. 

She seems also young enough to not have been poluted with some of the secrecy paranoia we come to expect from the Bookman, so her heart would be probably pure enough to stand by Allen. And besidesshe’s been told by Joe that the man who will come soon will be a sort of ally, so i could see her extend this friendship to him.

And now i just imagined a very sad scene, of Allen seeing Lucia’s golem. I think its name is Urcanpy? And it’s the same sort of technology than Tim. This close after Tim’s loss i could see Allen getting very sad about it. I could see the two of them bound over the Canpy somehow, with Allen having trouble to hide his sorrow and Lucia understanding it because she also likes her Canpy y’know? 

This would be an interesting dynamic to explore and at least some safe people for once for Allen to be around. I would love to see her as an ally because of that!

also a reminder that the stats are on a 1-5 scale (or occasionally a 0-5 scale, if someone’s just really shitty & goes below 1) and that the numbers in parentheses next to certain stats denote increases/decreases in that stat since the last fanbook (e.g. the new stat is 4, the last stat was 3, so in parentheses it says +1 because the stat increased by one)

and a second reminder that i don’t know japanese and am just very diligent with google translate, so like. i’m trustworthy, but also take everything with a grain of salt bc i have edited previous profiles & gotten things wrong & the like

DGM Week || Day 4

By Your Side

Timcampy and Urcanpy zipped through the air, chasing each other while their human friends worked on their respective tasks while leaning against each other, shoulder to shoulder.  Allen was finishing up his day’s record and Nea was composing. The quiet was broken by the beating of the golems’ wings, the scratch of quill pen against paper, and the rhythmic ticking of a grandfather clock.

Occasionally, Nea would hum a few bars from whatever piece he was thinking up to test the sound.  It was very distracting for Allen, who kept pausing to hear his companion’s voice and wishing Nea would sing a full piece.  He loved hearing Nea sing, but he needed to focus and do his recording right.  Bookman would have his ass if he slipped.

Allen gave up trying to write and dropped his head to Nea’s shoulder.  His friend had a little more than half of one of the two circles surrounding a coat of arms he didn’t immediately recognize.  “So what’s it sound like so far?.”

Nea finished the current bar he was working on before whistling the song’s melody.

“A lullaby?” Allen blinked.

“Mother used to sing it to Mana and me when we were kids,” Nea replied.  “She made words for, but I haven’t worked them in yet.”

“...This piece is different.”

Nea stared hard at the score in his hands, “...Its the Ark’s control song.”

Allen started, sitting up straight, trying to wrap his head around the implications of Adam having taught a human the Ark’s control song. And couldn’t just then.  He needed time to absorb it. 

He leaned a little harder against Nea, disrupting the intense focus on the score. “I’m surprised its taking you so long to put down.”

“The original version is written for an organ,” Nea said.  A sigh left him.  The an agonized groan left his mouth and Allen flailed to support himself when Nea bent double over his lap as if in deep physical pain.  “I’m trying to rewrite it for an upright piano.  Putting all of the Ark’s controls into a simpler device is a pain!  And I’m still not sure if I’ve encoded language fluently enough, because the lyrics are going to take nearly all the slack.”

Timcanpy and Urcanpy suddenly dropped onto their heads. Allen whipped Urcanpy off by the tail while Nea merely glowered at the golden golem.  The golems were like little kids sometimes.

Allen rubbed Nea’s shoulders comfortingly, “Maybe just singing the song aloud will help? I’m curious to what the lyrics are.  I don’t think I’ve got anything like that recorded yet.”

“Yes.” Nea straightened.  He paused and then looked over at what Allen was writing.  The Bookman apprentice was writing in his usual weird shorthand which made no sense to him.  “How far are you?”

“I’m about halfway through the day,” Allen replied.  He elbowed Nea lightly.  “Sing, Nea.  I want to be able to record you serenading me.”

Nea stuck out his tongue playfully. “Or serenading an empty room. I’m still not sure I believe you and Bookman ever write a word about yourselves in there.”

“If we don’t, then just think - this is a personal memory just between the two of us,” Allen said brightly.  He batted Urcanpy away when the black golem tried to sneak up on him for revenge in being thrown.  Timcanpy flew off to check his darkly-colored twin when he didn’t immediately bounced back up from where he’d landed.

”This,” Nea paused dramatically to give him a Look, “is why everyone thinks we bed each other.”

“I thought it was because they’ve actually caught us in bed,” Allen grinned, laughter echoing out from behind his words.  They’d both been clothed, but it hadn’t stopped Katerina from sitting them down to have a talk, even when they tried to reassure her nothing physical was taking place.

“Well...maybe that was more the nail in the coffin,” Nea concluded, rolling his eyes.

Allen’s grin softened, “They’re envious over nothing, Nea.”

“Nothing, hm,” Nea sighed.

Allen felt a part of him cringe.  Nea insisted he understood Allen’s position as Bookman’s apprentice, but sometimes...sometimes Allen wondered if he should step down.  Not because of Nea’s reactions to reminder what they had would eventually end - but because Allen was coming to realize he dreaded loosing this.  He’d been in relationships before - been in romances, even, in the past on other assignments.  But leaving those others (and he was always careful to avoid creating problems for himself and the one he became involved with) hadn’t been as painful as the simple thought he would have to leave Nea .

To distract himself, Allen gave Nea another nudge, “Sing, Nea!”

“Alright, alright!  Stop jabbing me, Junior,” Nea growled.

Allen went back to leaning against Nea, smiling while the Noah sang the lullaby his mother wrote for him and his twin brother.

I’m wondering how Urcanpy will react to Allen Will he recognize Allen as past!Allen or as a stranger? And how would Allen react to Urcanpy?

Lucia anon: Exactly! One thing that I forgot to mention was in fact Urcampy! I bet if Urcampy is bookman tech then when Allen sees it, he'll get the idea a bookman might be able to revive Tim. Not only will Allen be searching for answers about Nea a and himself. But a way to save Tim. This could be the reason Allen and co make their way into the clan in order to convince them how to help Tim. That could tie into the bookman being wary about a outsider(or ex bookman traitor) having a campy -

2 and Allen trying to convince or find info on his own to let him have Tim back (and not get into trouble). Lucia and Ur could be his main allies (Other then Lavi, but Lavi might be dealing w/other problems too). Ur seems very affectionate. I could see it bonding to Allen very quickly and even sympathizing w\him over losing Tim. This could lead Lucia into also becoming interested in Allen and trying to help him as much as she can. Who knows, thanks to Allen she might see Lavi's pov and -

3 represent a new generation of bookman that would question certain more damaging ideology and support Lavi being Bookman as the best thing for their clans future. Things are changing. Maybe the bookman need to consider changing a few things w/o ignoring their core purpose.

YES!!! YES YES TO ALL OF THIS!!!

Honestly if they take advantage of the Canpy’stechnology to give Allen this sort of storyline I WILL cry but I want it! I think there would be something extremely tragic in Allen trying to revive a loved one again, and perhaps even more conflict from Allen o that point,  but i can’t see him being... not tempted. Because he could save Tim, he could get answers. And it would make him a spotlight for the Bookman since he has their technology, like you say!! 

And yeah i’m almost certain Lavi will have a lot of succession’s stuff to bother with even if he will still be by Allen’s side, so I could completely see specifically Urcanpy and therefore Lucia get closer to Allen while he’s having this turmoil. Hell imagine if Urcanpy and timcanpy were very old and very close for exemple? The canpy would in grief as well and I could see Lucia specifically extend her care to Allen because Ur is suffering too. 

And like you said, from this bound happening she can eventually side with them and with Lavi’s Bookman’s issue. exactly like you said, as a child she represents the new generation, so if Lavi is to try to push for a change in the way the Clan had ruled itself for centuries or so, the support from a kid who wants  to change things as she is part of that future  would be very narratively welcomed. 

I do believe the Clan has to change some things. Their way to handle individuals in their clan is not healthy and there is some sort of... irresponsability coming from having knowledge that could prevent wars but letting them happen for the sake of neutrality. And I believe this would be a major step forward to revamp the Clan, while both staying true to its recording core, but connecting back to the humanity that had been neglected with the years. 

And a kid on their sides to show exactly who would benefits from this future would be a welcomed addition!

So yeah, agreed on everything about that!! I want it so bad orz this would be neat!
