#VERSE: Henchman Johnny

OK SO. i wanted to put together some different verses & AUs that i could potentially use for Johnny here!! :D there's a lot of different possibilities to be had with him, so this list may be changed & updated as time goes on!

also definitely feel free to tell me if you wanna explore any of these with ur muse if any of it catches ur attention!!

STANDARD / CROSSOVER: This is just your regular ol' Johnny Bravo. Nothing out of the ordinary here! He can be just about anywhere in his 20's here. This will be the go-to verse for threads unless specified otherwise. ( TAG — VERSE: Crossover )

TUMBLR JOHNNY: This is a special Johnny. :) Still your classic, regular Johnny Bravo by all accounts, same as above—however, it's more interactive! For example, say Johnny gets a lot of anonymous messages and questions and such, and he gives an IC response! NPC characters can also thrive here, so you could get as creative with it as you want. Occasionally, I'll also post my own writing drabbles or have fun events to go along with it, much like this therapy session drabble i wrote here! In essence there really isn't ANY verse attached to this one, and you could possibly even apply this to other verses instead if it could be applicable! ( TAG — VERSE: TBA )

TEEN: In this verse, Johnny will be his teenage self! Which can be anywhere from 13 – 17. Here, he is NOT as buff as he is now (except for age 17, specifically); in fact, he was actually quite scrawny as a teenager! It was also the 1980's when he was a teen, however that part can be optional if you'd prefer. ( TAG — VERSE: Teenage Johnny )

OLDER: For this verse, Johnny can be anywhere in his 40's - 50's. Older Johnny's character can vary a little depending on the setting and thread. Here's a post describing my general concept for a middle-aged Johnny! ( TAG — VERSE: Older Johnny)

POKEMON: Here, Johnny is a Pokemon trainer (team TBA)! But despite what you might assume... he's not really much of a fan of battling. Not to say that he won't battle if put to the challenge, but he's actually more of a fan of contests himself—in which he instructs his Pokemon to show off their moves, literally and figuratively! You know, all for show, baby! ( TAG — VERSE: Pokemon Trainer Johnny )

STEVEN UNIVERSE: Rather than your typical gem AU... Johnny is still a human in this verse, and lives at Beach City. He's still his regular self, essentially—however, he is exclusively looking to date gems. He's not interested in any human woman! He wants those foxy space mamas! He reasons it's because he wants to be included in fun alien adventures, and have the opportunity to travel space. And what better way to do that than by bagging an alien babe? He... doesn't have much luck in his romantic pursuits so far, though. ( TAG — VERSE: Steven Universe Johnny )

THE LAST OF US: Okay, basically, imagine Johnny's in the place of Joel in TLOU! If you've got a child muse, they could potentially fill the role of Ellie—however, if not, the "Ellie" role will instead go to Little Suzy! Keep in mind, please, that I'm only going off of the TV show version of TLOU here, so I am not familiar with the games or the full story yet! ( TAG — VERSE: TLOU Johnny )

EVIL HENCHMAN: Got an evil villain character of some sort? Johnny could be their henchman, if you'd like! Just know that he's not a very GOOD one, and will probably mess up all your plans by complete accident. Often makes a good "foil" character in this regard. ( TAG — VERSE: Henchman Johnny )

MEDIEVAL / KNIGHT: Based on an idea with @riiese ! Here, Johnny's a knight in the Medieval era! I imagine instead of sunglasses, he wears a big ol' helmet that covers his eyes and the gigantic pomdadour is still just hiding under there LOL. He goes around saving "maidens in distress," and thwarting any foe that stands in his way, in his... own goofy, cartoonish ways. ( TAG — VERSE: Sir Bravo the Brave )

PRINCE: Similar to the Knight AU, this verse may typically take place in the Medieval era, or any other old-timey era where princes would be a thing. Here, Johnny is royalty, and an heir to his mother, Queen Bunny! He desperately searches for a princess so that he won't have to assume the throne all by himself someday. ( TAG — VERSE: Prince Johnmark )

TOUR ROADIE: Based on an idea with @burnlikeme & @mfniccals ! Johnny is a tour roadie, riding around with singers & musicians as they perform around the world. He is not a celebrity himself, but is extremely starstruck around them, and hopes that this could be his ticket to stardom if he plays his cards right! ( TAG — VERSE: Tour Roadie Johnny )

MILITARY / G.U.N: Based on an idea with @drrobctnik ! Here, Johnny's a new recruit in the military. He's just gotten his beloved hair shaved—which may not seem like a big deal to most, but to Johnny it's like the end of the world, and because he initially put up such a resistance to it he's already on bad terms with some of his higher-ups and peers. ( TAG — VERSE: Military Johnny )

BABYSITTER: Got a child muse that could use a babysitter? Look no further! Johnny's got you covered. He may be in over his head, however, as Johnny has little experience with kids and is prone to making plenty of mistakes. It's worth noting that this verse happens to take place in Johnny's late twenties to early thirties (28 – 33 years old), sometime after his mama has passed away. ( TAG — VERSE: Babysitter Johnny )

STUNT DOUBLE: Based on my own personal story for Johnny, in which he briefly works as a stunt double for movies & actors for a time! He's not much of a celebrity himself—he merely works for them. And like his Tour Roadie verse, he's absolutely starstruck to be around them! However, it's worth noting that this verse happens to take place in Johnny's late twenties to early thirties (28 – 33 years old), sometime after his mama has passed away. ( TAG — VERSE: Stunt Double Johnny )

WAITER: Same as above, based on my own person story for Johnny—but here, he works as a waiter at a 5-star restaurant for cuisine of various Asian cultures. It's worth noting that this verse happens to take place in Johnny's late twenties to early thirties (28 – 33 years old), sometime after his mama has passed away. ( TAG — VERSE: Waiter Johnny )

CASHIER: Here, Johnny works as a cashier at a music shop! He's starting to realize he may be a bit out of touch with what everyone likes in their music nowadays—he's got some old-school tastes himself, which gives him a harder time if the more modern crowd were to ask him for music recommendations. It's worth noting that this verse happens to take place in Johnny's late twenties to early thirties (28 – 33 years old), sometime after his mama has passed away. ( TAG — VERSE: Cashier Johnny )

WIP Wednesday

Hey guys I was today years old when I learned that if I accidentally press some button that I don’t know (I think alt or shift) and enter at the same time this post will post without my consent :D so I posted this WIP Wednesday with no WIP! Fun!

Anyhoodles saw @tiredassmage post, got inspired, realized I actually have something I’m working on (Shocker) so here we go!

It’s for Cyberpunk, I have no idea when it’ll get done because my writing well is at like 5% right now. Quick note, this is Era and Five but Era is V/Vivian in this ‘verse.

The door hissed closed behind V, the janky latch bouncing once, twice, thrice, before finally clicking and locking She’d meant to get that fixed for the past…month, maybe, but that required more eddies and more time than she had. And it wasn’t worth a repairman walking in on one of her…episodes with Johnny.

She thunked her head back against the door, squeezing her eyes closed.

Despite the dirt and grime that crusted her hands she scrubbed them across her face. She knew what was coming even before the voice snapped at her from deeper in the room like a whip.

“What the hell, Vivian?”

“It’s V,” she snarled back, “Can we start with hello, Five?”

Opening her eyes, she rolled them to the ceiling before fixing an icy look on Five, “You look like a fucking Corp.”

That had been their lifestyle once, chafing beneath the boot of the bigger man.

They’d since faded into the shadows of Night City, cut ties with the corporate conglomerate. Five still stuck out in the streets of Night City like a sore thumb.

He would’ve been better suited as Delamin’s henchman in his HQ than out on the streets. She was bitterly surprised he hadn’t been mugged yet. Even with the wicked knife she knew was tucked under his finely pressed jacket and the pistol no doubt concealed somewhere on his person.

Five stuck his hands in his pants pockets, sharp eyes roving over her, “And you look like you just crawled out of a sewer.”

Touche. Rain poured outside, sweeping with it all the grime and oil that packed into the rusted buildings and poured out of the derelict cars. She slung her jacket off, spraying water droplets across the room. Five curled his lip as some of it splattered onto his jacket, swiping it off.

He didn’t need to know that her jacket was soaked because she’d hydroplaned into a concrete Jersey barrier and careened into a puddle.

“Since when have you been stupid enough to hit two hundred miles per hour in Pacifica?” 

So he already knew, then. The way his words clipped when he got irritated drove her insane.

“You bug me or something?” V snapped, telling on herself even more as she ran her hands over the creases of her tank top, feeling for small, metal spyware.

“I didn’t bug you.” She heard the eye-roll sent her way and grit her teeth so hard her jaw ached, “I have contacts all around the city and they all say the same thing: they’re worried about you.”

His socked feet—damn him and his etiquette always taking his shoes off in her dingy ass apartment. Her boots were welding themselves to the floor with mud the linger she stood here—stalked forward until he was almost right in front of her, “You got a death wish or something?”

From the corner of her eye Johnny shimmered into view, arms crossed, “Aw is dad worried about his little girl?” he crooned, “You still haven’t told him about the gun, V.”

“Can it, Silverhand.” She snapped, whipping her head to where he stood. But he was gone now. Dammit.

No, she hadn’t told Five about the incident when Johnny had first appeared, about the way the horror had driven her so far out of her skin that she’d seized up her pistol and…no. He didn’t need to know that.

Five’s eyes flashed at her as his calloused fingers snatched her chin and pulled her eyes up to meet his. She bared her teeth, “Back off, Five!”

“Are you drunk? Smoking something?” He demanded, “All that chrome you’ve pumped into yourself finally frying your brain?”

Quitter hit em up

The lyrics in "Hit 'Em Up" were aimed primarily at Biggie and Puffy. A former Vibe editor denied receiving threats, but neglected to explain why the magazine substituted aliases for Henchman and Haitian Jack. Persons familiar with the interview say they used different names after the magazine received threats from Henchman. Shakur announced the names of his ostensible conspirators to Kevin Powell, a journalist for Vibe however, to mask their true identities, Vibe referred to Henchman as "Booker," and Jack as "Nigel" in the published interview. He also singled out businessmen James Rosemond ("Jimmy Henchman"), and Jacques Agnant ("Haitian Jack") of orchestrating the assault. Shakur admitted to releasing "Hit 'Em Up" as a response to "Who Shot Ya?" In a Vibe interview, the rapper called out Sean "Puffy" Combs and Biggie Smalls and accused both of them of setting him up, or of having knowledge of the attack and not warning him. Shakur was also enraged by Biggie's release of " Who Shot Ya?" provocatively only months after the shooting incident, and although it did not directly involve Shakur's name, he believed it was directed towards him. Johnny "J" also stated that he had never seen Shakur so angry and that the words he rapped were in no way an act, describing the recording process as the most "hard-core he had ever done." Although he was very happy with the work he had put into it and the resulting song, Johnny "J" went on to say that he had no desire to work on anything of that magnitude again. Shakur used this fury, which Johnny "J" described as "superhuman", to attack Biggie and other East Coast rappers. He claimed that Biggie and his crew knew of his shooting and wanted him dead. He explained that Shakur was initially fueled by his anger against Biggie and Bad Boy Records for the belief that they had a role in the November 30, 1994, ambush and attack on Shakur. The ferocity of Shakur's raging vocals, as said by long-time collaborator and producer of "Hit 'Em Up" Johnny J, was entirely authentic. The bassline of the soundtrack is a sample from a song called ' Don't Look Any Further', by ex- Temptation Dennis Edwards. The first and third verses are performed by Shakur, while the second verse is performed by Hussein Fatal, the fourth by Yaki Kadafi and the fifth by E.D.I. Together, the rappers (along with other associates) formed the original lineup of the Outlawz. For the song, Tupac Shakur recruited the members of the former group Dramacydal whom he had worked with previously, and was eager to work with again. "Hit 'Em Up" was written and recorded at Can-Am studios in 1996. The song is widely regarded as one of the greatest diss tracks ever recorded due to its explicit lyrical content and the seriousness of violent intent expressed by Shakur and his colleagues towards their rivals. The controversy surrounding the song is due in part to Shakur's murder in a drive-by-shooting only three months after its release. Following its release, the East Coast rappers insulted in the song responded through tracks of their own. "Hit 'Em Up" had a large role in exacerbating the East Coast–West Coast hip hop rivalry. The video, itself described as infamous, includes impersonations of Biggie, Puffy and M.A.F.I.A. Reporter Chuck Philips, who interviewed Shakur at Can Am, described the song as "a caustic anti–East Coast jihad in which the rapper threatens to eliminate Biggie, Puff, and a slew of Bad Boy artists and other New York acts." The song was produced by long-time collaborator Johnny "J". There is a previous version of this song recorded in October 1995. The song was recorded at Can Am Studios in 1996. (also referred to colloquially as Biggie Smalls). The song's lyrics contain vicious insults to several East Coast rappers, chiefly Shakur's former friend turned rival, the Notorious B.I.G. It is the B-side to the single " How Do U Want It", released on June 4, 1996. " Hit 'Em Up" is a diss track by hip hop artist 2Pac, featuring the Outlawz.

             Okay, so here’s the RULES

I’ve been a henchman for a long freakin’ time, okay? I’ve been around the block. I know how this works so I’m going to be very clear about a few things.

I’m not gonna be all that active. I don’t expect a ton of followers and I’m not going to rush to replies. I’m busy, you’re busy and I don’t stress about role-playing. This is for fun. Let’s treat it as such.

So, I’m in a canon ‘verse shared with Johnny Quest and Scooby Doo. No kidding. I’m multi-verse and multi-shipping and happy to RP with original character and a lot of weird can happen. Weird is normal. My professional costumes are a combination of butterfly themes. Gender is complicated, sexuality is complicated and there’s a whole lot of fuzzy lines there. 

Along those lines, this is not gonna be a real serious blog. Yeah, adult stuff like violence, death and sex might happen. It’s gonna be tagged ;nsfw. But, there’s gonna also be in character commentary on stuff and crazy hijinks. That kinda stuff happens a lot in my life.

I don’t really plot. Stuff just happens so if you wanna say something, just do it. Ask and submit boxes are open. Memes can be tossed at me whenever, just keep in mind that if they’re old memes I might not remember what symbols and stuff are for. 

Yeah, I’m a henchman, but I got a brain. I don’t blindly follow whatever I’m told, so no godmodding.

‘Kay, so, I don’t have a lot of triggers but I can’t stand smoking. Real life imagery of people smoking- not cool. Tag it, okay? I’ll unfollow and block if it gets to be a problem. If you got a trigger, let me know and I’ll accommodate you as best I can.

Johnny had been sneaking around with Carmen for who even knows how long now—for what reason, or where they were going, he wasn't entirely sure. If she'd told him, he's long forgotten by now. All he knew was that he supposedly wasn't allowed to speak right now, the two of them as quiet as a mouse. Unfortunately... Johnny wasn't very good at keeping his mouth shut for too long.

"Oooh, look! A lucky penny!" he exclaimed, bending over to pick up a penny off the ground, completely forgetting to keep his voice down as he'd been warned.
