she's doing the most to only make his entrance worse, with a hand tugging at his shoulder and another hand trying to get a grip just above his elbow. it's not her intention. her intention is to help, to guide him in through the window and onto sable ground, but there's not the space for them both and he's twisted like a pretzel at an awkward angle.
peter turns to her, standing on his own two feet now, and tugs his mask off to reveal his mop of brown hair and frantic eyes.   "oh it's not that bad."   she offers, reaching up to pat down a flyaway tuft of hair.   "it usually helps to, like, swing through in like an arc. you'll get it."   her smile at him is wide and genuine and hopeful. practice makes perfect, after all.   "tommy is at the store. do you want anything? i can text him- WAIT!"   she stops in her tracks halfway down the narrow hallway towards her room, to spin on her heels.   "you got me something?"
“nothing! nothing’s wrong with how your room is decorated!” it’s practically screamed into the receiver, eyes wide and large under the mask. way to go AGAIN! he’s handling this whole exchange with the grace of mysterio and the drones.
he tumbles through her kitchen window, crawling around her sink in what can only be described as soul crushingly embarrassing. it’s not his smoothest entry, phone tossed onto the counters, still on the line and cause a small amount of feedback between their two phones. there’s a groan as he finally comes back on his two feet, mask yanked off. “i don’t know how you do that every time. this has to be so much worse than just taking the door.” he shakes his head, hair finally free to toss about. “i had to pick something up for you, tommy home?” maybe they ought to move this to her room. his head pokes around, glancing out what he can see, eyes searching for some sign of her uncle or his belongings.

LAST WEEK TONIGHT STARTERS : “if you're thinking how bad could it possibly be -- well this is bad” / @rot3rstern
"i wasn't thinking that, actually." she doesn't sound terribly convincing. or maybe it's just hard to believe that she isn't, considering the situation facing them: doombots spilling down the steps of the met museum en mass. there's a sharp scream as a woman runs out of the front entrance and off to the side, trying to avoid the robots with their evil red eyes. maybe bucky is right, andie's heart hammers in her chest and she drops to a crouch, hand extended in front of her with web-shooters at the ready, maybe this is bad.

So... You Wanna Hyperfixate on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As a neurodivergent person, I know what it's like to come across a piece of media and start to obsess over it. To the point where it consumes all of your thoughts and waking hours. One of my personal favorites is the M.C.U., or the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
However, there is a lot of incomplete information out there on this franchise, so I've got you covered.
What is the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
The Marvel Cinematic Universe, or M.C.U., is a multi-media franchise adapting characters and storylines from Marvel Comics, and is comprised of films, television series, short films, web series and even, appropriately enough, tie-in comics. Beginning in 2008 with the film "Iron Man", it has continued to flourish and produce new entries until the present day. For the purposes of this post, we will be covering only live-action and animated entries in the franchise, totaling 70 entries as of June 2024.
What is the Marvel Cinematic Universe About?
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is divided into two Sagas, both of which are further divided into Phases. Phases are a grouping of projects, while Sagas are a grouping of Phases.
The two Sagas of the MCU are the Infinity Saga, comprising of Phases 1, 2 and 3, and the Multiverse Saga, comprising of Phases 4, 5, and 6.
The Infinity Saga revolves around the six building blocks of reality, known as the Infinity Stones, and how they impact the lives of the groups of superheroes known as The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as the quest of the power-hungry alien Thanos to obtain the six Infinity Stones. The Infinity Saga is comprised entirely of movies, specifically the first 23 movies in the franchise, with the 23rd, Spider-Man: Far From Home, serving as an epilogue to the entire Saga.
The Multiverse Saga, currently ongoing and roughly at its midpoint, revolves around the Multiverse, a collection of infinite alternative realities where events unfolded just slightly differently, resulting in vastly different outcomes. The villain of this saga is slated to be the time-traveling, reality-hopping Kang the Conqueror, as well as his Variants, or alternate reality counterparts. The Multiverse Saga is comprised of the 24th film (Black Widow) onwards, as well as the 13th television series (WandaVision) onwards. (See below for full film and series listings.)
There is also an unofficial Saga formally known as The Defenders Saga, comprised of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Punisher, culminating in The Defenders. The series Echo has retroactively been added to The Defenders Saga.
What is included in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
As mentioned above, we will be tackling everything except the tie-in comics, which results in 70 entries across the following formats; films, television series, short films, web series, animated series and telefilms.

MCU Animated Series (aka Marvel Animation)
What If...? (2021-2023)
MCU Telefilms (aka Special Presentations)
Werewolf By Night (2022)
The Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special (2022)
[1] While Helstrom was originally meant to tie in with a Ghost Rider tv series, itself a spin-off of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Ghost Rider was scrapped and later statements from the show runner and some actors put its connectivity into question. However, the show itself slots in perfectly into the tapestry of the MCU and can be treated as equally as any other part of the franchise.
[2] The Daily Bugle is divided into three "seasons"; one marketing Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019 on YouTube, one marketing Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021 and 2022 on TikTok, and one marketing the movie Morbius (which is NOT in the MCU), also in 2022 and also on TikTok. This third "season" is non-canonical to the MCU and can be disregarded.
What Are Some Storylines To Look Forward To?
Anti-Superhuman Sentiment: A huge undercurrent throughout the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, both films and television series, is an aversion to superhumans, which could eventually evolve into the anti-mutant hysteria of the comics when the X-Men arrive to the MCU.
Gods and Mythology: From the Asgardian pantheon with Thor to the Egyptian pantheon with Bast, Osiris and Khonshu, to the Vodou pantheon such as Papa Legba and Baron Samedi and the Greek pantheon with Zeus and Hercules, gods and mythology and alternate dimensions are present in several series of the MCU.
Demons and Witchcraft: I tried to avoid naming direct entries in this section in order to maximize surprises, but these themes are ones that truly ingrain Helstrom into the rest of franchise, tying into Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, Runaways, Cloak & Dagger, WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Where Can The Marvel Cinematic Universe Be Watched?
Disney+ has the vast majority of the MCU entries, at 62 of the 70 entries.
Hulu has two of the entries, the television series Cloak & Dagger and Helstrom.
Additionally, if you get a premium subscription to Hulu, you can also watch Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is otherwise unavailable to stream.
The CW App has one of the entries, the television series Runaways, due to being removed from Disney+ in May of 2023 as a result of cost-cutting measures. It can be streamed for free.
YouTube has all three of the web series; Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Slingshot, WHiH Newsfront and The Daily Bugle. Compilations of all individual episodes are searchable. Though 3 of the 10 WHiH Newsfront episodes are on Disney+ as special features for Ant-Man.
The final entry, the short film Peter's To-Do List, is only available physically on Blu-Ray copies of the Spider-Man: Far From Home film.
If you would like to request the missing entries to show up on Disney+, you can click on this link. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, look for the box labeled "Give Feedback" on the right hand side of the page, click on "Submit Feedback" in blue. A window labeled "Share Your Feedback" will appear with a drop down menu captioned "Select a feedback type". Click on "Request a movie or show" and you will be prompted to type in 3 titles. Be sure to use the official names for the missing entries, which will be listed below. Once you've entered your 3 selections, click "Submit Feedback", and you will receive a quick message that your feedback has been submitted.

I'm looking at the forecast for JOKER: FOLIE A DEUX, and I also saw how low the attendance was at my cinema job yesterday, and... It got me thinking again about where big comic book/superhero movies are at in the post-COVID outbreak world...
And how JOKER 2 - along with films like QUANTUMANIA, SHAZAM 2, THE MARVELS, and THE FLASH - sorta fit a weird group of pictures that probably would've made boffo bucks in 2019 but not now. Backwash, you could say, from a bygone era that's only like five years ago...
Meanwhile, we saw the recent successes of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 and ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE, superhero movies that were more than just your usual garden variety superhero movie. They had some kind of vision or passion or spunk behind them. DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE is, I feel, the anomaly to this, as I felt it to be a fairly vision-less movie. Just a big budget parade of your favorite characters and action bits and lots of cameos, but done well enough with a sense of fun that kept audiences coming back after it made over $211m on its domestic opening weekend. I certainly had a fun time with it, but I wouldn't say it's anything other than "here's some fan favorites and some bloody action."
And then smack-dab in the middle of all this is MADAME WEB, which by all accounts was hacked to pieces in post-production much like how MORBIUS was. A film that could've stood out amongst the superhero pack as a period piece (2003 as a period piece, that's frightening to me lol), but ended up being molded into your usual schlop with lots of noticeable ADR.
Then you have two other Sony Spider-Man-adjacent movies this year, out within two months of one another. VENOM: THE LAST DANCE, out in a few weeks from now, should do good business because of the campy buddy comedy appeal of these particular movies. KRAVEN THE HUNTER, which was delayed multiple times, I have no idea. That might get a little lost in the Christmas season feeding frenzy. I have no idea how much further these Sony movies will go, outside of the VENOM movies. Remember how they wanted to do an EL MUERTO movie and then it got canned?
It seems like it's all a slow, prolonged sea change in comic book movies. I think they'll still get made, but something will have to change... as even a sequel to JOKER - which prided itself on resembling a '70s/'80s New Hollywood Scorsese-esque project - isn't cutting it. The idea of the new one being like a classic musical and a courtroom drama sounds really cool on paper, but in 2024, it's just not enough. The first one seems to be of a specific time, and belongs only to that time, it could be argued. A Trump-era slog about a "misunderstood" lonely guy who eventually ends up killing people, that devolves into a cacophony of violence... Its most controversial aspects were outside of the movie itself. I remember all the pre-release worry about the film possibly being a rallying cry to shooters... It came out and nothing happened, but it got tons of people to flock to the movie. It just hit at the right time, the noise around it created an appeal of sorts. It being this R-rated gritty street level movie and not your usual comic book movie.
But in 2024, now it's just "Eh, a new JOKER movie?" Add in the extreme genre shift, and a chunk of the audience was alienated.
Next year... CAPTAIN AMERICA 4... Looks - to me - like the most anticipated movie of 2015, honestly. THUNDERBOLTS* also looks too little, too late and also kinda just... There... James Gunn's SUPERMAN could really go either way, it could pull a MAN OF STEEL, or it could really break out. Maybe a BATMAN BEGINS-esque performance is in the cards here, where it opens kinda okayish because of a general fatigue w/ constant superhero movies (not to mention Henry Cavill's Kal-El not being that far behind) but has great legs. FANTASTIC FOUR Again, maybe this new take does the same? Maybe it's just more MCU fluff that gets a handful of fans on opening weekend and just fades away afterwards. There's an untitled Sony Spider-Man adjacent movie set for summer 2025 as well, but I wouldn't be surprised if that gets nerfed from the schedule. By now I think we'd know what it is, unless it's some kind of surprise project. Still, you'd know about it because it'd be filming or wrapped up by now. Speaking of which, BLADE is definitely not out next year, I'm surprised Disney and Marvel haven't changed its release or removed it from the calendar. We'll have to see where it all goes...
Ya know what comic book movie sticks out among all these 2025 entries?
Tumblr media
DOG MAN!
Which I expect to be a respectable success for DreamWorks, come this winter. Its animation and visuals were outsourced to Jellyfish, much in the same way CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS was to Mikros. Jellyfish got SPIRIT UNTAMED out for $30m, I'd imagine this didn't cost anything more than that. Plus it's well after SPIRIT's timeframe, which was when vaccines were still rolling out, and this new movie is based on the Dav Pilkey CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS universe so it should do pretty okay. But to me, this is probably the most distinct CBM of next year, in a sea of big budget spectacle. A little cartoon movie about half man/half dog from a comic book written by fictional children that plays out in the way a comic drawn up by a kid would.
Leave it to animation to save the day here, lol. We need something to hold us over in comic book movies until BEYOND THE SPIDER-VERSE, whenever they decide to release that.
2026 is home to what looks like the usual array of late 2010s CBM backwash... AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY with Robert Downey Jr. returning to the MCU, possibly a fourth Tom Holland Spider-Man movie, two other untitled MCU movies (BLADE will likely take one of those slots)
There's also Gunn/Safran-verse DC's SUPERGIRL, but we gotta see what SUPERMAN looks like, first, before I can say whether their new DC shared universe feels like it belongs in the past decade or not...
You also have another animated entry with the MUTANT MAYHEM sequel, the first one - from last year - being a great and fresh new spin on the TMNT property. And THE BATMAN - PART II, the first one got a very strong response back in 2022. I would say THE BATMAN and MUTANT MAYHEM are of this new post-ENDGAME superhero movie era, the first SPIDER-VERSE arguably kicked that off in late 2018 before ENDGAME was released.
Again, it's a real "we'll have to see". Tracking this stuff can be fascinating for me.

watching peter's sleep-addled struggle does nothing to dim her excitement, grin stuck in place even as she shouts happy birthday to a face full of blinds. the world goes topsy turvy and sideways for a moment as she slides open the window and twists herself through it from where she hangs, narrowly avoiding the crumpled blinds on the floor where she lands. they're all sad looking like this. "thought i'd catch you before," she picks one end up with the intention of righting them, but the blinds prove to be a tough opponent—plastic bending and poking and enveloping her from all sides. she drops it back down to the floor with a soft crash and a crinkle, "all the craziness of the day starts. you look cozy!"
⎯⎯⎯⎯ @lvebug sent : there's a knocking at peter's window. incessant and somehow eager. tap tap tap at what is probably far too early an hour. it's followed by a head of blonde hair and the upside down grin of lovebug hanging just outside. she presses a hand to the glass, nearly presses her face there too. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
a groan is the first sign of life for andie, as peter ducks his head below the pillow to block out the tapping. an arm emerges from under the thin sheet, raised out towards the window. he’s tired and slow to hit the webshooter and send a web at the blinds. with every intention of blocking the sun and the bird at his window, he yanks his hand down against his bed and leaves it there— the blinds pull over the window and block out andie’s face. it’s her exclamation that after a few lingering moments actually makes him realize his mistake. eyes opening, he lifts his arm hoping the blinds will go back up. they don’t. swinging his arm up and down, it’s a completely worthless effort until he jerks it back and the whole thing comes off. great. just great. “it’s open!” what time is it?

Silk | Web of Spider-Man's Story

Hi! With the Black Widow movie coming out, I just re-watched some old MUC movies and remembered how much I love Natasha. What are the main, must-read, Natasha-centric comics that you would recommend to a comics newbie? (You once made a similar post for Loki comics that I used and found extremely helpful.) Thanks for everything you share! I've found a lot of content that I enjoy through your blog!
Thanks, anon! I'm always happy when I can be rewarded for my loud yelling about things that I love. :D
I was sure I'd made a Natasha reading list a while back but apparently not?? what the fuck self. (well, other than my overall MCU starter kit recs post from forever ago that was for all of the O6 and is also very old.)
okay well then I guess it's time to do that now, no time like the present! going to link to trades where they exist but I'll include issue numbers as well
heads up: you probably will run into references you don't understand in some of these. that's comics for you. my advice: either let those things float by you, or just Google them - you can enjoy comics without knowing/having read all the lore!
anyway, the recs.
the easiest suggestion I have right off the bat though is the Black Widow Epic Collection editions that have been published recently (Black Widow: Beware the Black Widow, and Black Widow: The Coldest War) which include some of her major appearances, including in a bunch of old single issues that would otherwise be hard to find. HOWEVER, those won't take you up into her more contemporary appearances (the latest publish date in there is 1996).
THE TOP OF THE LINE
The Marjorie Liu run collected as Black Widow: The Name of the Rose (Black Widow vol. 4 #1-5). If you read no other Black Widow comics, read this one. It's so good, easily one of my top five comics runs of all time. Cannot recommend it enough.
Black Widow: The Itsy Bitsy Spider which includes two different short runs (Black Widow vol. 1, #1-3 & Black Widow vol. 2, #1-3). This is probably my other favorite Black Widow collection of issues (and they very much lead into each other); here's where Yelena gets introduced and also where you can find some very gay panels. If you can't find this one, you can find the same issues republished with the added Pale Little Spider miniseries in a trade called Marvel Knights Black Widow by Grayson and Rucka: The Complete Collection.
The Nathan Edmondson/Phil Noto run collected in three trades The Finely Woven Thread, The Tightly Tangled Web, and Last Days (Black Widow vol. 5, #1-20). This one follows on thematically in some ways from the Marjorie Liu run but primarily the appeal here, in my opinion, is Phil Noto's art, which is gorgeous.
The Mark Waid/Chris Samnee run collected as Black Widow: SHIELD's Most Wanted and Black Widow: No More Secrets (as well as in a Complete Collection edition) (Black Widow vol. 6, #1-12). This was a series not long enough for this world but a delight while it lasted - again, particularly the art, but Waid and Samnee also just work together very, very well.
Black Widow: Web of Intrigue which includes Marvel Fanfare #10-13, Bizarre Adventures #25, and Black Widow: The Coldest War, some older stories featuring Natasha.
THE DEEPER CUTS
I'd put down first Hawkeye & Mockingbird / Black Widow: Widowmaker as a recent series worth reading; the trade also collects Solo Avengers #16-18 in addition to Widowmaker #1-4. I don't think it really gets referenced in other places, but it's a fun collection of issues and I love the dynamic of these three together.
If you want to dig into the background of the character and her true comics origins, check out the old comics collected in Black Widow: The Sting of the Widow which include her first appearances, the introduction of her iconic costume (in Spider-man, actually), and her short run in Amazing Adventures (Tales of Suspense #52, Amazing Spider-Man #86, Amazing Adventures vol. 2 #1-8, Daredevil #81).
This is...kind of a weird one and also a mixed recommendation, but I will throw out there the semi-extracanonical Black Widow: Homecoming (Black Widow vol. 3, #1-6) and Black Widow: The Things They Say About Her (Black Widow 2 vol. 3, #1-6), apparently also now collected as Black Widow: Welcome to the Game, written by Richard K. Morgan (yes, the author of the book that inspired the Netflix show Altered Carbon) because while they are...not good in all ways they do hit some very specific notes for me in places.
Captain America & Black Widow is a short team-up run with Steve and Natasha that's enjoyable if a bit wacky (Captain America & Black Widow #636-640) from a period of time where there was just a series of Captain America team-ups as part of the Captain America run.
This is going to be a hard one because it's not collected anywhere as far as I can tell, but Marvel Knights #1-15 which was published in 2000-2001 as part of Marvel's street level gritty initiative thing (that actually produced some quite good comics). I tracked it down in single issues back in college and actually really loved it. Team book but Natasha is prominent.
If you can find Black Widow & the Marvel Girls (Black Widow & the Marvel Girls #1-4) it is a treasure of a miniseries but unfortunately very difficult, in my experience, to track down.
The Black Widow: Widowmaker collection pulls together an assortment of sort of random oneshots/short runs with some good stuff in there (mostly the thing that I like that is in this one and not in other collections on this list are Fear Itself: Black Widow #1, but it does also include with other material some of the other runs on this list - Black Widow vol. 4 #1-8, Black Widow: Deadly Origin #1-4, and Widowmaker #1-4).
Finally: there's The Champions, the short-lived team Natasha actually led back in the day which is pretty Silver Age but sometimes in an endearing way, and the arc collected in Daredevil: The Widow which is Natasha-centric (Daredevil #61-66) and good enough that I bought it even though I'm not a particular fan of Daredevil. But that might partly be because I really like Alex Maleev's art.
People recommend Black Widow: Deadly Origin but I am not personally a big fan. I'm putting it on here mostly so you have it and also so other people know I'm aware of it.
I'm not yet caught up on the most recent currently running series so I can't speak to recommending it or not.
if you really, really want more deep cuts, anon, I have some, uh, team runs and single issue appearances I'm very fond of personally, but that starts going way down the rabbit hole in a way that perhaps you do not want to.

it's amazing how quickly something becomes normal. only months ago and andie had been the most normal girl in the world. but charlie is right—she did escape for a reason. shield may have given her these powers, but they don't get to take anything else in exchange. they took enough.
she won't fight for them, too.
they hadn't been asking that of her before. or, no— that's not true, she thinks. they had been asking her to, or at least preparing her for that question. she just hadn't realized until yesterday, is the thing. how quickly something becomes normal.
there are plenty of superheroes in the world and andie would—like to make a difference. there's a strength in her that wasn't there before; the idea of lifting someone when they're down, shielding them from danger, it alights her like a spark setting her aflame. but what she was asked to do... charlie asks the question would you feel warm, would you be counting the days. she hasn't been in danger, or unsafe, but others would be, she thinks. shield wants a pawn, but andie won't fight their battles.
"i wouldn't be," there's an edge of desperation in the way she grabs his arm. he needs to understand. he might be the only one who does. "i wouldn't be myself. and i can't be their pawn." she doesn't want to fight—not for them. not at all. there are other ways. "i can't stay with them, charlie."
“ before last night, everything was fine. ” ╰ @lvebug
“ was it ??? ”   the question weighs heavy. it hurts, almost. he knows this feeling. he knows what it’s like to wish for it to be normal again. he should’ve done as he was asked : to stand down. but he couldn’t, he just couldn’t. he understands, and he looks at andie with so much worry.   “ you escaped for a reason. ” oh, how it feels like a curse                   the yearning to go back. charlie feels it in the bottom of his coffee mug, he feels it every time he thinks about his mother, and he definitely feels it when a tilt has left him pummeled into asphalt. and he feels it the moment he looks into andie’s eyes. and perhaps there’s pity, a bit of guilt : he’ll manage to blame himself. he’ll say he inspired this act of rebellion. but then there’s pride, and he could beam with it if everything didn’t feel so solemn. he imagines this is what his father has always felt. “ think about where you’d be right now. would it be four white walls, would you feel warm, would you be hungry ??? ”   that’s what he asks himself. everyday.   “ would you be counting days, would you feel like you’re waiting for something? do you feel any of that now ??? ”

"HOLD ON!" lovebug shouts over the chaos. she makes a grab for katrina with her left hand, right already raised into the air and firing off a webline that launches them into the air. the timing is a little iffy, but they don't have the time to worry about that. things are about 2 seconds from going KABOOM! andie can feel it buzzing incessantly in her skull.

Spider-Man: No Way Home'

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness of Madness
Thor: Love and Thunder
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
The Marvels
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania
The Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special

How to Watch Marvel's Movies in Order
Marvel Studio is a famous American film producing company specialized in directing and producing movies of superheros. It’s parent company, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produces web and TV series, comic books and short films. All over the world, people are Marvel fans and crazy to watch each production of Marvel.
Marvel has copyrights of the main superhero characters and every movie the character remains with unique characteristics in terms of their power and weapons. Marvel’s Universe is out of imagination.
Marvel studio movies receive an average of 64 nominations and awards per movie.
Most of the climatic battles that are seen in the Marvel studio movies among superheroes and villains rely heavily on computer generated effects. As we all know, each movie that Marvel studio makes has a signature shot of a cameo appearance of the late Stan Lee (the writer of many original comics). The first movie released by them was in 2008 but it all began in 1941. Most of the Marvel studio movies can be found online on streaming services like Amazon, iTunes and Disney+.

Watch Marvel Movies in Sequence to Get All of it
Below is the sequence in which you need to watch the moveis if you are new to the Marvel world and get the understanding of the superheroes and their role in each movie.
1. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
In the first avenger which is most logical to watch first, Captain America is introduced through flashback as well as connecting the film to the major antagonist threat.
2. Captain Marvel (2019)
Captain Marvel can be viewed in various aspects but if we are striving to timeline continuity it makes sense to watch next where we are introduced to the most powerful superhero in the MCU and this film could exist entirely on its own outside the marvel timeline also a way to introduce important characters for later. It has been taken from endgame so it expects you to know who all the characters are.
3. Iron Man (2008)
Iron man introduces us to Tony Stark, his origin and idea of avengers initiative. This film has as well begun post credit scenes tradition.
4. Iron Man 2 (2010)
Iron man 2 introduction to another important character. This movie lays the groundwork for events and also introduces us to Black Widow.
5. The Incredible Hulk (2008)
The Incredible Hulk can be skipped.
6. Thor (2011)
Thor, first foray into cosmic elements of marvel introduces us to one of the original six The Norse God of Thunder, Thor and Norse God of Mischief, Loki.
7. The Avengers (2012)
Assembling this movie brought all the MCU heroes together and united them against a common threat. Now, the  movie takes elements from the Ultimates comic and introduced both mid credit and end credit scenes and was the first step towards infinity war.
8. Iron Man 3 (2013)
We see Toney dealing with the personal aftermath of events in Avengers and introduces us to his greatest enemy.
9. Thor: The Dark World (2013)
This movie also is dealing with the aftermath. This film is important because it has a direct connection with Thor: Ragnarok.
10. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
In this movie, we see Captain America and Black Widow team up for a mission.
11. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
This movie has a first hand introduction of the cosmic side of marvel introducing Star Lord, Gamora, Nebula, Groot, Drax and Rocket and finally introducing to an alien, Thanos.
12. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
Not much has changed in this movie. The details about all the characters are extended.
13. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
In this movie, Avengers is an already established team where they team up again to take down a big threat and also sets up a lot of things heading into Phase III.
14. Ant-Man (2015)
Ant Man is the conclusion of phase 2 and also setting up the groundwork for the endgame.
15. Captain America: Civil War (2016)
This movie brings together the whole team, deals with the fall out events in Age of Ultron and also deals with the introduction of winter soldiers from the previous film.
16. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
In this movie,  the spiderman is adjusting to life and it gives us a spider man origin story.
17. Doctor Strange (2016)
This is the first film to introduce Mystic Arts into the MCU as well as alternative dimensions.
18. Black Panther (2018)
Black panther doesn’t tie much into the rest of the MCU but shows the story of an original hero.
19. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
It is an adorable comics adventure. The post credits scene leads directly into the events of Avengers: Infinity war.
20. Ant-Man and The Wasp (2018)
Ant man and The Wasp introduces Quantum Realm and also the post credit scene shows a lot of characters get dusted.
21. Black Widow (2020)
One of the strongest female superheroes playing an important role in the following movies. Must watch to understand her skills.
22. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
It is largely a showdown between Avengers and Thanos. Avengers: Endgame final chapter of phase 3.
23. Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Going back to the time machine and getting all the power stones back and getting to the end of Thanos.
24. Spiderman: Far From Home (2019)
Spiderman facing monsters behind his life and fellow superhero Mysterio helps in saving him from these monsters.
Marvel has set a standard and gained popularity over the years
Marvel movie’s success is has four core principles:
(1) Select for experienced inexperience.
(2) Grasp a stable core.
(3) Need for challenging the formula.
(4) Foster customers’ curiosity.
Marvel Studios believes in granting directors majority of control in areas where they have the most experience. In order to balance the ideas, new talents and voices which are brought into each movie, the Marvel studio holds on to a tiny percentage of people from one to the next. The support and footing provided by them allows Marvel to maintain continuity among products and to give birth to an attractive community for fresh talent.
It has been noticed that Marvel movies portray differing emotional tones, that is the steadiness between positive and negative emotions conveyed verbally by its characters. Analysing the experience of Marvel shows us that franchises gain from continual experimentation.
Creativity, Animation, Character Building, and the Story Line are the main attributes of each Marvel movie and the fan followers just love to watch each of them over and over again!
