I constantly talk to the flies in my house like Beelzebub stop flying right by my ear I’m trying to watch a videodoc.

Happy that/ heureux que my personal documentary on changing weather patterns in South Korea and their connection to global warming  will receive another screening at the Alibag SFF. Also upcoming is publication of a paper I wrote on the link between military activity, carbon emissions (the quantities, unsurprisingly, are massive), and why this issue does not trend more often on social media.

Part of what we’re witnessing with ongoing social strife over the Covid crisis and how to best manage it is a foreshadowing of what will happen as governments try to manage more coherently carbon emissions. Expect continuous outbursts of the same sorts of stubborn, blind fury, and similar slow, feckless imposition of change by worldwide governments.

this is not what I expected after watching a 3 hour videodoc abt lab rats earlier this week I can't escape

…….okay you get ONE. ONE!!! but you have to promise not to point and laugh.

People of the lab rats/lab rats elite force fandom…..I accidentally crack shipped Marcus and Oliver [audible gasping].

I KNOW. BUT. LISTEN. They took Oliver’s character in a really weird direction in LREF, like, all his lines are about Skylar and being a creep to Skylar and how he wishes Skylar liked him and. It!! Sucks!!! I liked Oliver so much!!! So I wanted to write like, just a wholesome fic with a davenfam + Mighty Med team reunion weekend where they celebrate Skylar and Bree officially becoming a couple while Oliver has to silently move on, yknow, as one does.

PROBLEM. THIS FIC WAS BUILT OFF A SEPARATE FIC WHERE MARCUS IS ALIVE AND REDEEMED. So SOMEHOW after realizing they would meet it just. It Just Happened. It dawned on me.

IDK JUST BASIC PREMISE Oliver is struggling to find closure because he is happy for Skylar and Bree, but also feels selfish for still having some lingering feelings (not really romantically, just that he’s liked her so much for so long that not liking her is such a big change), which he can’t really admit to anyone. But then he has his big Not Straight crisis over Marcus at the same time cause I’m a firm believer that no one here is straight.

Lots of sorting out emotions and them healing together after finding a real family (and Marcus giving Douglas a deserved cold shoulder bc things aren’t perfect with them yet). Oliver gets to vent, he gets to like someone without years of knowing them or knowing everything about them. They just both need something new in their lives, they need to come to terms with things changing, and I think they could help each other through that process while being all cute n stuff. Also I want more content of Grown Marcus he slew and we only got him for one episode.

OKAY ENOUGH I just wanted to fix Oliver’s mischaracterization and it got away from me. That’s my Ted Talk I’m running off the stage with burning cheeks.

They are a non-profit that strives to provide young women interested in technology with the education and resources they need to chase their dreams and learn the lessons of app development.

Women in Technology International is another example, and they focus more on helping adult women participate in the field. Tech giant Apple has also recently opened an Entrepreneur Camp geared towards helping women get involved in app development.

These are encouraging signs. O’Brien cites participating in a female-centric entrepreneur program as a key factor in her company’s success.

Organisations and programs such as Black Women Talk Tech offer similar benefits. It’s important to give all women the freedom to build companies in this sector. This particular organisation focuses on providing black women in tech with such opportunities. By highlighting the success of other female black entrepreneurs, they further help to create positive role models.

Persian Women in Tech is another organisation helping often marginalised females participate in tech fields. As more non-profits like these arise, we can expect to see more diverse voices in app development.

That’s a good thing for everyone. A review of famous women in tech reveals they’ve made substantial contributions to computer science already. Ada Lovelace is credited as the world’s first computer programmer. Katherine Johnson and Margaret Hamilton helped NASA put humans on the moon. Many of today’s female developers are creating products you may use frequently.

The more chances women have to participate, the more that society will benefit from the products they develop. That’s just one reason to celebrate them every day – not just on International Women’s Day.
