Also my dad gave me this whole bag of old stuff (mostly photos) to sort through and for fun I was doing it next to my mum and then I pulled out some old letters like RLLY old they were so soft w age and delicate and it was addressed to my mum but there wasn’t a sender name (there were greeting cards too and those had the senders names) so I read the first line and it was smth like ‘my dearest most darling [insert my mother’s name’ and I was like ……….mum I think these are the letters dad wrote to you before you got married

#and then AND THEN #SHE HAD THE AUDACITY TO GET MAD AT ME #AND SHE WAS LIKE OHOH GIVE IT TO ME DONT READ MY LETTERS #AS IF I WANT TO??????#this is so insane my mum told me she and my dad wrote letters once their marriage was arranged #to keep in touch while my father sailed (this was like late 90s and telephoning wasn’t an option)#and since theirs was an arranged marriage k thought it was like mostly cordial letters #WHAT THE HELL WAS TAHTTTTTTTT #my mum always said my dad was much more like infatuated/obsessed over her before marriage #i never thought he could be THIS expressive he’s not monotonous but #euch okay I don’t like thinking abt this #also in the split second btw me reading the letter and my mum taking it away I was like…..is this from some #idk forbidden paramour or smth LMAOOOOO
