   the first thing that Kaeya thinks about Ajax's home in Shneznaya, the little cottage his parents have- is that it's homely. homely, and warm. there's the scent of something baking for dinner wafting even behind the closed door of his room- it catches at the traveling captain's nose, how this smell means family.

   curious fingertips are caressing, very gently, a personal picture taped on the inside of the closet- he found it by chance as he was unloading his clothes for the stay, mixing them with familiar ones. there's a child in the photo- a small, grinning child with ginger hair and bright, deep blue eyes, holding up a fish easily thrice the size of his own little height- proud as only an ice fisher can be.

   Kaeya's finger run over a little cheek stamped on paper, as if the little kid in the picture could really feel it, and then he turns, his eyes immensely soft, to the man that resembles him, but also does not.
