I’m so proud of how this patch turned out even if it does look kinda shitty, simply because I think it looks really good regardless. I hand painted the letters with an old ass brush and oil paint that got literally everywhere.

I’m 100% gonna redo the letters eventually. Maybe once I get my hands on some actual fabric paint/markers.

Y’all have no idea how long the barbed wire embroidery took :,)

The back of this jacket is gonna be so much fun to make. I’m not sure if it’s like, too colorful? But I really like how I laid everything out. The plaid is gonna cover the really blank looking bottom corner, so essentially this design/layout is gonna be the entire back panel(?).

Five of these patches are old (clean) socks that I cut up, and one of them is part of the loop that was on one of my boots that ripped off when I was trying to pull it on, so that’s fun. Also one of them is the tag from an old shirt that I thought looked neat (I then spent almost an hour using a bent safety pin to painstakingly undo the stitches holding it on)

Also yes, I relocated the Mothman patch from the front bc I did a really fucked sewing job and kinda hated it.

Also also the patch I yoinked from that shirt tag is like, silk or some kind of silk-adjacent material so I’m gonna sew it onto some t-shirt fabric before putting it on the jacket. I realize that this could have been avoided altogether by just cutting the shirt, but I still really like the shirt and wanna keep wearing it.

I’m planning on getting a bunch of pop tabs to sew onto the shoulders of the jacket bc I don’t have studs or spikes (and I think it would look cool) so I’ll post an update on that when I get enough tabs for it.

participating in @the-wip-project for however long i can convince my brain to. i’m going to attempt to write a minimum of 250 words a day (in the interest of setting realistic expectations for myself). another personal limit i’m placing on myself, though: i can’t write more than 1,000 words a day. i’ll run out of words if i don’t put an artificial cap on there. brain fog moment

Kingdom AU character introduction - King Saitama with his pet Rover

Seeking thrills of fighting, he goes out expanding his Kingdom through war. Currently the most feared and ruthless.

Ps; So I talked with my friend over how King gave up his throne for Saitama. It went like this

King: Hey Sai, how about 'you' becomes the King? Let's exchange.

Saitama: Not interested, too much work.

King: Then I'll be your advisor.

Saitama: Dude, I'm not even royal blooded.

King: Let's plan to overthrow me, and I died in history but I can still be with you in a disguise of Royal Advisor. So your brute, my plan. We can rule the world!

Saitama: Unbelievable.

"Now you are monarch" "Nah.. too much work" "Here is the royal treasure.." "I'm in!"

The thing is King has always been afraid when he needed to fight even when he had Saitama as his Royal guard/protector. Of course, Saitama did all the fighting and violence while King with his intelligence at navigating and planning. They are best bud after all.

Half of it was on a flash fiction exercise about a smuggler getting beaten up by a robot while a twink watches and laughs, and the other was a short story about a gold panner getting lost in the Californian desert and coming across a mysterious forest that definitely does not contain a fae

Little brainstorm board for an old dream project.

So my original wood dnd set was 1/16th or 1/8th (I forget) ply woodburnt with patterns and with hand carved characters. Still have my original wizard, wise old man, and rogue, lost my kobold, but walls would just be implied by the shape of sheets

This new set is aiming to be *mostly* formless. Going to have a few big pieces for roofs or quick floors, a small bit of carved furniture, but mostly want 1x1x1 wood blocks in various combos/tetriminos to block things out. After enough blocks are gotten I'll be adding woodburning for bricks/wood/etc, and then some various stains for various materials, but shy from paint or unrealistic stains. I want shades of brown. All monsters will be various 'meeple' shapes, flat, with woodburnt patterns, mostly from dollarstore kids toys that are plentiful here, and humanoids will be woodburnt 'peg doll' style beings, roughly in 35mm scale/sub 2 blocks tall

Also going to have some more general shapes for quick things. have some fences/walls made already using off brand jenga, various preglued shapes, and I'll have some centre piece furniture with various uses. Eventually want to woodburn some of those fences with 'graffiti', mostly to fit into games like 40k

Tried making a wooden dnd set way back in grade 10, but the teacher got pissy about the wheelchair I had after surgery that year and would only let me do book work in shop class, so it never got finished (which I can understand no big power tools. Maybe even no scroll saw. But no hand tools, no chisel or hand saw, no wood burner, no stool or wheelchair only painful crutches post-surgery hunched on a desk, ridiculous, but a rant for another day)

Wood, you can throw it at a wall, dump it in a bucket, it won't break, at worst it cracks and you reglue with sawdust and can barely tell. And it's *aesthetic*. Good dnd stuff. Plus it fits into larp if you want to rp at the rp place XD

Coming back to this WIP skin, and it's amazing looking at the code. I've learnt so much this year! It shows even in the little things, like the amount of CSS shorthand I use. But I've got to say I am still very much vibing with the contained feel of this skin. Especially with the header on the header on mobile. I need to stick a new avatar in, though. Alas, the old one disappeared when nickpic went down.

I'm thinking of dusting off the code and selling the skin as a multi-sale. Would anyone be interested? I'm definitely going to overhaul the forum row and board stats, though. I've got a much clearer idea of how I want them to look now. Anyway, it's a fun little side project.

I LOVE THEM I’m so tempted to do smth TMA style, they’re seasonal workers in a national forest, the locals are strange, unnerving, and the surrounding town, as much as it tries to hide it, has a high, unexplained crime rate for such a quaint town, cases of otherwise perfectly kind, normal people, lashing out violently, normally followed by their disappearance, of course our narrator, Maddox knows nothing of this, her coworker Quince on the other hand, knows more of the strange happenings, as she grew up local, though she doesn’t let on a lot of this information to Maddox, Maddox simply is taking the job as, he needs one, and seems to be avoiding home…
