It’s so funny to see who watches women’s football when the Ballon d’Or nominees came out. The amount of people in comment sections saying Sam Kerr should win was astronomical and comical considering she had a mediocre season at Chelsea and barely played in the World Cup. All respect to her, but she doesn’t win this by FAR. Any women’s football fans know there really is only one true winner, or should be anyway. Aitana Bonmati is the only person who should come away at the end of the day with this trophy.

other people have probably already said this but i find it really ...interesting how when the uswnt were playing badly under jill it was all her fault and she was a terrible coach that didn't deserve the job but now that they are playing badly under vlatko it's suddenly only the players' fault and they are arrogant and lack the passion and determination

all those who are saying that Alexia's entrance in yesterday's match made no difference are honestly making me laugh.

you could absolutely see the rhythm and the pace of the game changing and increasing, and okay it wasn't just her, I'm pretty sure the entire team wanted to win, but it's undeniable the impact she had - the ball started moving more, spain became more aggressive again, salma seemed to pick up pace as well and didn't commit sloppy errors

i joked that as soon as Alexia entered you could only hear her yelling instructions on the pitch - that is true and, let me tell you, it was needed

This isn't 'hyping up someone undeserving', like I've heard some people saying. I'm sorry but if you can't see the importance and impact Alexia makes as soon as she steps on the field then i don't know what to tell you
