Braided Beauty

The Walt Disney Classics Collection (WDCC) Braided Beauty sculptor with a limited edition size of 750. Originally released in February 2012 and retailed for $165. Sculpted by Jacqueline Perreault Gonzales and plussed with pewter legs.

I can't believe I own this!

I have been searching for her since 2019. One finally came up on eBay at the right time! She is absolutely beautiful and so accurate! Braided Beauty is the number one most faithful interpretation of Rapunzel. Most figures and statues live in uncanny valley, but not this one!

The WDCC began in 1992 and ended in 2013. Braided Beauty was one of the last sculptors created and the only one from Tangled.

Each sculptor has a signature mark that represents its production year. The mark for Braided Beauty is an umbrella with the year being 2011. The umbrella honors Disney's Mary Poppins.

WDCC sculptors are said to define the essence of the character. Rapunzel's braid scene is iconic to her character. Definitely a beautiful moment to choose! If only the line had continued, maybe Eugene would have joined her.

Braided Beauty is absolutely stunning in person! All the detailed flowers, the swirl of her skirt fabric, her beautiful face and feet! All captured perfectly! She compliments the castle even though they are drastically out of proportion to one another. I only wish the skirt had been given its embroidery details.

Truly a best day ever moment to finally add Braided Beauty to my Tangled collection! 💗

A few Walt Disney Treasures sets that I found at a local thrift store recently that were surprisingly cheap (compared to online anyway). This is probably the 2nd best collection of classic cartoons (right after the Looney Tunes Golden Collection).

I went to a Target in California and I came across this…..

Some Target locations have an all Disney section, like a very mini Disney Store and that’s where I found this. There were two other themed mystery bag. “Street vender” foods and “desserts”, but this was the only bag that was labeled “festive flare” foods. So I bought! 😋🎄🎁

A Christmas mystery bag of Disney’s Munchlings!!! 🎄 I was excited! So from the possible plushies you can be inside are listed above. My top three choices were Robin Hood, Bullseye and Dug. Can you guess what I got???!!!!!!! 😃

ROBIN HOOD! My first choices! I grew up watching Disney’s Robin Hood like a ton, it was definitely one of my favs. The plush is suppose to be of Mulled Apple Cider in a mug. I LOVE Apple cider!!!! HUZZAH! 🍎

This July 8 to Aug 4, 1988 Happy Meal was a tie-in with the re-release of the 1942 Walt Disney film classic, Bambi, based on the story by Felix Salten. Four poseable characters with moveable limbs or wings came in a clear polybag with an insert card. Some cards featured information regarding a free Bambi poster with any Bambi collection purchase from Sears. The "Under 3" premiums were not poseable. Each of the 4 boxes could be cut apart and assembled into a Bambi playset. counter display unit was battery operated."

January 11, 2000: Disney/Pixar's Toy Story (1995) is re-released on VHS as part of the Walt Disney Gold Classic Collection.

This is the first title released in the Gold Classic Collection and it is the only release in the collection not to initially receive a DVD release alongside the VHS.

In addition to the film, this release also contains the short film Tin Toy and a behind the scenes featurette.

Hello there everyone, and welcome to night seventeen of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!

Tonight we're revisiting the WDI, Pressed Pennies, King Candy, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LE 250.

This pin was released in August of 2013 as a part of a large collection of pins known as the Pressed Pennies Series. A collection of pins made to reflect the design of their pressed coin counterpart, in honor of one of Disney's oldest forms of Disney park collectables. This particular pin was made in the image of the King Candy pressed penny once found in Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The pin itself is shaped like an oval, with the raised molded figure of King Candy in his classic pose. Leaning on his cane was smiling cleverly, all the while his name sits in bold beneath his feet while the movie logo resides under that.

The Pressed Pennies pin series comes with a bit of Disney history, as each pin in this collection was modeled after an actual pressed coin found in Disney parks. Amounting to sixty pins total, plus an additional three released in Disney Hong Kong. This includes coins from holidays, special events, as well as those that were only available for a limited time in parks. Immortalized in pin form so the memory of discontinued coins lives on. I have a particular fondness for this collection as I once walked around Disneyland as a child with my little book of pressed pennies. Excited to add another to my collection, after begging my parents for a penny of course. It was these coins that lead to my collecting of pins later on, so having a pin that brings together the past and present is quite a special thing.

This was part of Walt Disney's Treasury of Classic Tales, a feature that ran in Sunday newspaper comic supplements from July, 1952 to February, 1987. It consisted of comic adaptations of Disney movies that usually ran over the course of thirteen weeks, for a total of thirteen pages.

The feature was primarily to promote new Disney films and those that had been re-released. Unfortunately, it ran in very few newspapers (58 at its peak), so most kids never got to see these tales.

The Black Hole adaptation ran from September 2, 1979 to February 24, 1980. To my knowledge it has only been collected in a French volume which was never released for sale in the States.

IDW in 2016 began publishing hardcover reprints of the stories in chronological order, reaching the end of 1962 with Volume 3. However, low sales of the books lead to IDW cancelling the series.
