Oh joy, I've just seen my first broken image on a new Wayback Machine capture. Now I have to go to bed like that's going to bother me all night. What hasn't helped is that my internet signal has been dipping in and out for the last few days, which I suspect was the culprit there.
I've had at least one URL capture take a while to show up but this really stings.
#adventures in archiving#wayback machine#kitai25 has pages worth of screencaps of taki alone and i have mad respect for the webmaster on that account

HOLY SHIT?????
[id: comment from @marina-ponders: Heliopolis at least is back up, so no need to go digging for those fics on the webarchive: https://sg1-heliopolis.com/ ]
Hello friend! A friend of mine is doing a Stargate SG-1 rewatch and lamenting the slim pickings of fic on AO3. Do you know where she can find fic that perhaps is still on some old archive of yore? Or have any recs? She's mostly interested in Jack/Daniel and Jack/Sam. Ty!!
oh my. with all the love in the world to your friend visiting us from a very different fandom tax bracket than i have ever had the fortune to participate in (those two pairings have well over 6k fics each on ao3), i'll see what i can do!
[several hours of looking around later] bad news!! not much!
most of vintage sg-1 fandom was wiped out by expired domains, struck-through livejournals, ff.net's porn ban, yahoo lists, etc. some pages are still preserved in the wayback machine for heliopolis, the massive het-and-gen archive, and area52, the slash counterpart, but with the search and directory functions pretty much toast, they're almost impossible to navigate.
fanlore has an old list of archives (including plenty of jack/daniel ones). some smaller archives might yield wayback paydirt, especially if they were hand-coded. samandjack.net is still alive!
and, hate to say it, this was peak era for ff.net and they have like 30k fics over there... but all the explicit fic is gone.
i recently learned some people are still doing het-reccers (user-submitted fanfic recommendations, LJ archive is here). i don't know if any slash equivalents are still around (and i haven't looked at this site for genuinely fifteen years, so i can't speak to the quality of recs).
some sam/jack recs of mine; some of these authors multi-ship:
nanda: her resolution series especially should not be missed and i can't stress that enough. smut and action. fics great fics across the board.
it's kind of difficult to express how popular Salr323's fics were (under a different name) back in the day. i'm told that archive servers would crash when she posted something new. low on smut, high on PINING. rec: it was admittedly 1 am but as i recall this one made me feel like i'd just seen the fanfiction mona lisa
there are quite a few multifandom wonders who cut their teeth in this fandom, including missparker (rec: a small crime)
this cassandra fraiser fic dealt me some damage: nobody dies tonight by isawet
someone who's still in touch with her please harass splash_the_cat for writing 99 sg-1 fics and then walking away without cracking 100. lots of fun little snacks in there including this one
everything anr touches is gold <3
starting to get stressed out about who i'm missing!!!!
if your friend likes D/s this one is fun by tremontaine
lol read my stuff (i never wrote smut for sg-1 though)
hey everyone, please add recs in the notes/reblogs, especially jack/daniel recs because that's out of my wheelhouse but we aim to serve
#i didn't investigate thoroughly but Big News If True and it looks true from the landing page#i could have sworn i checked the other day and it was just a placeholder domain page#but i must have checked from within the wayback machine before the webmaster started putting it back up#sgwun

Fandom Memories: HMFarm
Hmmm. So, nearly a quarter of you whippersnappers wanna hear about the good ol' days, huh? Well, back in the day, you wouldn't just hang out on one or two big websites to try to find people who shared your niche interests among a million random users. Everything had its own dedicated site, with its own special pack of weirdos that you probably wouldn't find anywhere else. Home grown fandom, sprouting from the cement sidewalks of the freshly paved internet like so many weeds with pretty little flowers on top. So, let's take a little stroll down memory lane and visit one of the oldest fan sites with Archive.org's "Wayback Machine."
Ahh, just like I remember it. This here is "Harvest Moon Farm." 'course, we just called it HMFarm, like the URL did. This used to be the place to be. The prime progenitor of all farmin' fansites in the English speaking community. Maybe not the literal first, but up until around 2005, this was where you would go if you wanted to know anythin' about digital farmin'. It truly was a magical place to visit.
This screenshot isn't the oldest design, but it's the one I fondly remember. The majority of my time using the site was during the lead-up to A Wonderful Life, which was probably also when it was the most active as an information source. Seeing the screenshots, checking the forums, speculatin', wonderin', dreamin'... It's a warm feeling. I can't really describe how it felt to look at these shots for the first time. Granted, they were mostly sourced from various places like IGN or Newtechnix, but who wanted to go to THOSE messy sites when all the info I wanted was right here? IGN wasn't telling me how to revive the Vineyard in Harvest Moon 64 while I was waiting for AWL news either.
Our first look at the character we would come to know as Muffy, the sheer novelty of being able to go into the townsfolk's glorious, 3D-rendered rooms, the apparent misidentification of flowering tomatoes... The webmaster, Gamergirl87, would caption each one as well. Some of the captions of those screenshots ended up not being exactly true, but it was the closest thing to on-going coverage we really had. Who else was there to trust?
It's a little off topic, but I think at one point after learning about the GBA connectivity, I must have dreamed about this very gallery and seeing a screenshot of a Gamecube-ized Popuri with the caption that Mineral Town villagers would visit after connecting the GC and GBA together. At least, I'm pretty sure it was a dream. I've met some people who claim they saw the same thing, but none of us have been able to find that screenshot or comment again.

The one that would most catch my attention was the one on the left here. I didn't have a PlayStation 2, so I was coming fresh off of the GameBoy and Nintendo 64 when going into A Wonderful Life. The pond, the mysterious glowing plants, the mood and ambiance of their lighting, the little tree on the door... Naturally, I mirrored it on my first day the remake was available.
It's a real shame that the message boards are poorly preserved, since it doesn't look like there was a news post about the pre-order plush cow. I was hoping to find the name of whoever it was that convinced me to commit my first ever preorder. I still have the receipt, but without the forum post it's really only tangentially related to HM Farm.
'course, just learning about existing games and upcoming games wasn't the only good thing HM Farm was for. As I alluded to, there was a whole community here! While it's a shame that the message boards aren't well preserved by the Wayback Machine, you know what is?
The "ideas" list! This incredible time capsule was one of the first "interactive" parts of the site, starting in the year 2000. It's kind of fun to see how many of these ideas actually happened. Obviously, new characters and personalities were probably expected, but Animal Parade would eventually feature a honeymoon, several games have clothing and other customization, a mall, city, and pig would be added as soon as GBC 3, a goat would be in A Wonderful Life... It's actually amazing how prescient a lot of the suggestions are.
I'd share the whole thing, but the amount of e-mail addresses involved gives me pause. Still, there's a couple I wanna highlight:
Considering how often I still hear about people wanting to marry the moms and people attributing it to just "the fans getting older," it's funny to see Laserion lay out that, no, we've always been like this. Right down to using Manna's unhappy marriage and Lillia's husband never returning as valid reasons they should be available.
Tuan145, on the other hand, I just find extremely amusing because of the specific "2002 Escalade" part. Yes, this is clearly the ideal vehicle for all farmers in the Story of Seasons universe. This is now accepted headcanon. The boat was added in GBC 3 too, so obviously a 2002 Escalade is going to be added any day now.
Another thing that's amazingly well preserved is the site's fan art section. There's a few missing images here and there, but for the most part the entire thing is open to explore. People of basically all ages and skill levels happily submitted their creations, including original characters, digital art, traditional art, crossovers with popular series like Sailor Moon, a liiittle bit of drug use... Y'know, all the kinds of things you'd expect to see in a fan art gallery of the day.
Even better, some of the artists are still doing art today! Looking around, I quickly discovered one of my favorites, Rina Cat, is now on Blue Sky. I made sure to ask for permission to repost their art before including it here. Reaching out to everyone would be a bit much though, so I'll just encourage you to just browse the gallery using the Wayback Machine yourself. There's poetry and fanfics too!
There's a lot more to the site, including useful bits of history like keeping track of release dates for games, pre-release screenshots, and information that was only available on Japanese websites at the time, but I'll leave it at that for now.
Unfortunately, though the site continued to be updated until 2010 and stayed online until 2021, it's no longer available on the regular internet and the URL doesn't seem safe to access anymore. I wanted to include an interview with the former webmaster as well, but all their readily available contact information was tied to the website and I haven't had any luck so far in finding other means of contact. If I have any success, I'll be sure to make a follow-up! If you have any memories of HMFarm, or other fan sites, I'd be happy to hear about it.
#story of seasons#harvest moon#fandom history#i started this post by using portraits of Taro every couple paragraphs#to help sell that the “voice” of the article was a comically old and crotchety old man remembering the good old days#but he has like NO emotional range in his portraits. “Happy” just uses closed eyes and mouth open#so the idea was abandoned as the post went on. oh well#For a lot of the smaller sites I'm not sure if I can really write up a long article#I might try to do something more like a series of little glossary entries in batches or something?

so i've been coding a website
home of: the dervampireprince fanart museum, prince's art gallery, a masterlist of resources for making websites and list of web communities, and more!
[18+, minors dni (this blog is 18+ and the art gallery and art museum pages on my site have some 18+ only artworks)]
littlevampire . neocities . org (clickable link in pinned post labelled 'website')
if you don't follow me on twitch or aren't in my discord, you might not know i've been coding my own website via neocities since june 2024. it's been a big labour of love, the only coding i'd done before is a little html to customize old tumblr themes, so i've learnt a lot and i've been having so much fun. i do link to it on my carrds but not everyone will know that the icon of a little cat with a wrench and paintbrush is the neocities logo, or even what neocities is.
neocities is a free website builder, but not like squarespace or wix that let you build a website from a template with things you can drag in, it's all done with html and css code (and you can throw in javascript if you wanna try hurting your brain /hj). i love the passion people have for coding websites, for making their own websites again in defiance of social medias becoming less customisable and websites looking boring and the same as each other. people's neocities sites are so fun to look through, looking at how they express themselves, their art galleries, shrines to their pets or favourite characters or shows or toys or places they've been.
why have i been making a website this way?
well i used to love customising my tumblr theme back when clicking on someone's username here took you to their tumblr website, their username . tumblr . com link that you could edit and customise with html code. now clicking a username takes you to their mobile page view, a lot of users don't even know you can have a website with tumblr, the feature to have a site became turned off by default, and i've heard from some users that they might have to pay to unlock that feature.
i've always loved the look of old geocities and angelfire websites, personalised sites, and i've grown tired of every social media trying to look the same as each other, remove features that let users customise their profiles and pages more. and then i found out about neocities.
are you interested in making a site too?
neocities is free, though you can pay to support them. there is no ads, no popups, they have no ai tool scraping their sites, no tos that will change to suddenly stop allow 18+ art. unlike other website hosters, neocities does have a sort of social media side where you do have a profile and people can follow you and leave comments on your site and like your updates, but you can ignore this if you want, or use it to get to know other webmasters.
to quote neocities "we are tired of living in an online world where people are isolated from each other on boring, generic social networks that don't let us truly express ourselves. it's time we took back our personalities from these sterilized, lifeless, monetized, data mined, monitored addiction machines and let our creativity flourish again."
i'd so encourage anyone interested to try making a website with neocities. w3schools is an excellent place to start learning coding, and there are free website templates you can copy and paste and use (my site is built off two different free codes, one from fujoshi . nekoweb . org and the other from sadgrl's free layout builder tool).
your site can be for anything:
a more fun and interactive online business card (rather than using carrd.co or linktree)
a gallery of your art/photos/cosplays/etc
a blog
webshrines to your a character, film, song, game, toy, hobby, your pet - anything can be a shrine!
a catalogue/database/log of every film you've watched, every place you've visited, birds you've seen, plushies you own, every blinkie gif you have saved, your ocs and stories, etc
hosting a webcomic
a fanwiki/fansite that doesn't have endless ads like fandom . com does (i found a cool neocities fansite for rhythm game series pop'n music and it's so thorough, it even lists all the sprites and official art for every character)
i follow a website that just reviews every video game based on whether or not it has a frog in it, if the frog is playable, if you can be friends with it. ( frogreview . neocities . org )
the only html i knew how to write before starting is how to paragraph and bold text. and now i have a whole site! and i'm still working on new stuff for it all the time.
i just finished making a page on my website called 'explore the web'. this page lists everything you might need to know when wanting to make or decorate your website. it lists:
other neocities sites i think are cool and i'm inspired by, check them out for more ideas of what your site could look like and contain!
website building resources
coding help and tutorials
free website html code layouts you can use if you don't want too start coding from scratch
places to find graphics and decorative images for your site (transparent background pngs, pixels, favicons, stamps, blinkies, buttons, userboxes, etc)
image generators for different types of buttons and gifs (88x31 buttons, tiny identity buttons, heart locket open gifs, headpat gifs)
widgets and games and interactive elements you can add to your site (music players, interactive pets like gifypet and tamanotchi, hit counters, games like pacman and crosswords, guestbooks and chatboxes, etc)
web manifestos, guides, introductions and explanations of webmastering and neocities (some posts made by other tumblr users here are what made me finally want to make my own site and discover how too)
art tools, resources and free drawing programs
web communities! webrings, cliques, fanlistings, pixel clubs (pixel art trades) and more!
other fun sites that didn't fit in the other categories like free sheet music sites, archives, egotistical.goat (see a tumblr users audio posts/reblogs as a music playlist), soul void (a wonderful free to play video game i adore), an online omnichord you can play, and more.
i really hope the 'explore the web' page is helpful, it took three days to track down every link and find resources to add.
and if you want to check out my site there's more than just these pages. like i said in the beginning, i recently finished making:
the dervampireprince fanart museum
every piece of fanart i've received (unless the sender asked me to keep it private) has been added to this museum and where possible links back to the original artists post of that art (a lot the art was sent to me via discord so i can't link to the original post). every piece of fanart sent to me now will be added on their unless you specifically say you don't want it going on there. there's also links to my fanworks guide on there and how to send me fanart.
other pages on my site
about me (including favourite media, quizzes, comfort characters, kins, and more)
art gallery (art i've made, sorted by month)
graphics (so far it's just stamps i've made but plan to remake this section of my site)
media log (haven't started the 2025 one yet, but a log of all films, tv, writing, music, theatre, fandoms, characters and ships i got into in 2024)
silly web pets
shrines
site map
update log
my shrines so far:
i have ones for lucifer from supernatural, sam winchester from supernatural, charuca minifigures (arcade prizes i wanted as a kid that i'm trying to finish collecting as an adult), my waifuroulette discord tcg collection. my masterlist of every lgbt+ marvel character is a wip. i love making each shrine look different and suit the character/fandom/thing the shrine is about. and then there's also:
the european musical section
i ramble about them a lot and it's no surprise there's multiple shrines for them. i fell in love with german musical theatre in 2020 and that expanded in being interested in all non-english language musical theatre and trying to spread the word of it and how they deserve to be as known as english-language musicals. one musical in particular, elisabeth das musical, is my biggest special interest so expect a very detailed shrine about that one day.
so far this part of the site includes
'enter the theatre' an interactive web theatre where you choose a ticket and that musical will play on the stage (click a ticket and the embedded youtube video for that musical will appear on the stage and play. i dealt with javascript for the first time to bring the vision i had for this page alive, it might be slow but i hope enjoyable)
elisabeth das musical webshrine [not made yet]
tanz der vampire webshrine [not made yet, might abandon the idea]
my favourite european musicals [not made yet]
a masterlist of european musicals [a wip, only two musicals listed so far, i am listing every musical and every production they've had, this was a word document i kept for a long time that i always wanted to share somehow and this page is how i'll do it. there's no other list for european musicals out there so i guess it's up to me as always /lh]
the future for my site
i will update my art gallery, the fanart museum, my media log and other collections as often as i can. there's so many more pages i want to add including:
profiles for my ocs
finish my european musical masterlist
finish my 'every marvel lgbt+ character' masterlist (i have no love for marvel or disney's lgbt+ representation nor are all of these characters good representation and a lot are very minor characters, but for some reason i have gotten hyperfixated on this topic a few times so here comes a masterlist)
make shrines for loki (marvel), ares (hades), my sylvanian families collection, vocaloid (and/or vocaloid medleys), my plushie collection, pullip dolls
make a 'page not found' page
and i have one big plan to essentially make a site within a site, and make a website for my monster boy band ocs. but make it as if it was a real band, an unfiction project (think like how welcome home's website portrays welcome home as if it was a real show). this site would have pages for the band members, their albums, merch and maybe a pretend shop, and a fake forum where you could see other characters in the story talking and click on their profiles to find out more about them. and then once that's all done i want to start posting audios about the characters and then people can go to the website to find out more about them. that's my big plan anyway. i hope that sounds interesting.
i also want to make an effort to try and join some website communities. be brave and apply for some webrings and fanlistings, and make some pixel art and join some of the amazing pixel clubs out there.
but yeah, that's my site, that's neocities. i hope that was interesting. i hope it encourages people to make their own site, or at least look at other's small websites and explore this part of the internet. and if you go and check out mine feel free to drop a message in the guestbook on the homepage, or follow me on neocities if you have/make an account.

Can someone please post this on the r/lostmedia subreddit bc i don't have enough karma rn
edit 4/25/25: this is old, it's not down anymore but who knows when it'll go down again so I'm trying to save everything i can
https://kirstenimages.com/ is a fan site and the largest, most thorough and most popular archive of actress Kirsten Dunst's career since 1998, and back in June of this year it started going to a Webmaster error page every time I tried to look it up, and I don't know if either the url simply changed and I can't find it, or it's just gone, which I REALLY hope is not the case, there's so many photoshoots/interviews/screencaps/magazine scans/candids that might be gone forever
there /are/ other Kirsten Dunst fan sites but none of them are nearly as thorough as kirstenimages, for some reason the main page https://www.kirsten-dunst.org/ and it's other pages are still up, but just not the gallery (aka the main reason to use the website)
By the way, the main website I linked /was/ posting gallery updates up until the site went down, but now it only shows gallery updates most recent as July 2023 (which still doesn't work when you click on it by the way)
I checked the "contact us" section in the "site & online" section for emails, and I emailed both emails listed, but I haven't gotten anything in 3 months, those emails are most likely very old and defunct, I've also emailed the Webmaster email and it keeps giving an error saying my emails didn't even go through
"Why don't you just use the wayback machine" because not all of it is archived, and the stuff that is doesn't usually load the images here is literally so much on that site, it'd take a long ass time to archive it all, I luckily saved a little bit of photos from the site that you can't find anywhere else but it's not even close to the amount of photos that are actually on the site
I just think it'd be tragic if it was lost because Kirsten herself knows this site, she's posted photos directly from the site on Instagram before, and even sent them personal photos to post on the site before, and it really is a good archive of photoshoots especially, photoshoots you might not find anywhere else, or anywhere in HD like on their site, there were also rare low quality photos that aren't anywhere else either.
The longest the site has been down was at least 1 month before, like last year in March I think, so this is vexing me
So I was wondering if anyone either archived EVERYTHING on the site somehow, the whole site itself, or if someone cloned the website, or if someone knows the owner/admin(s) of the site to get in contact with them and hopefully get it back up.

RECENT SEO & MARKETING NEWS FOR ECOMMERCE, March 2024
Welcome to my roundup of SEO and marketing news and useful resources for ecommerce businesses, March edition. There is a lot going on with Google, and some really strong marketing pieces this time around, so let's get right to it.
SEO: GOOGLE & OTHER SEARCH ENGINES
Google launched both a core algorithm update and spam updates on March 5, with the spam update ending on the 20th. Core updates now include the Helpful Content algorithm. In early observations, Etsy and Reddit both picked up visibility in the UK.
The Helpful Content algorithm updates late last year destroyed a lot of sites’ Google traffic. Avoid the things they had in common. You can read the full study here.
Ecommerce sites were some of the biggest losers in Google visibility in 2023, with Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Etsy, Target and Best Buy in the top 10 of sites whose Google appearances slipped.
New to Google SEO? They’ve revamped their SEO starter guide for people like you. And if you are more advanced and want to learn how to optimize your website product pages, this is a good overview.
This lengthy article on backlinks for ecommerce websites covers pretty much all the angles, including the really difficult ones.
Reminder that if you want to rank on Google for a search term, you need to look at what is already ranking, and make decisions based on that content. [video and transcript] This works for most search engines, not just Google.
Yes, Google crawls “high quality” content more often. I used to refer to this as Google thinking the page is “interesting”, so I guess I will need to change my wording...
While Google sends the most traffic to websites, people spend a lot more of their online time elsewhere. Market where people are, not just where your stats say they came from.
Sadly, Google has stopped providing caches of website pages in its search results. While you can still see the caches of some pages by using the Google search Cache:[page link] as in cache:https://cindylouwho-2.tumblr.com that will eventually stop working as well. Bing still provides caches, but unfortunately both it and the Wayback Machine do not crawl often enough to give really recent results most of the time.
Missed Google news in February? Here’s your update. And just in case you are really behind, here is January.
Not Google
Unsure if your website has enough good backlinks? Bing Webmaster Tools will now tell you if you don’t.
Yandex - the top search engine in Russia - was sold by its Dutch ownership group to a consortium in Russia.
SOCIAL MEDIA - All Aspects, By Site
General
A US study of social media use found that the most popular site was YouTube, with 83% of adults using it. Two-thirds of American adults use Facebook, while TikTok is up to ⅓ of the US population.
Because they do change periodically, here are the latest image and video sizes recommended for the top social media platforms. [infographic]
Bluesky is now open to everyone - it was previously invite-only.
Facebook (includes relevant general news from Meta)
Meta has introduced several changes to its Ad options, applying to Facebook and Instagram.
Meta had a great 4th quarter in 2023, with revenue, users, and earnings per share up. “Fast-growing upstarts Temu and Shein, which originated in China, have been pouring money into ads on Facebook and Instagram. Li said on Thursday that revenue from China-based advertisers accounted for 10% of sales for the year and 5 percentage points of growth.”
Instagram
An updated post on Instagram's algorithm and how it works.
Instagram is still beta testing longer Reels for some users.
If your account is a brand account, you can now run ads on Instagram with coupon codes right in them. (Some Facebook users can already do this.)
LinkedIn
Among other recent changes on LinkedIn, the algorithm is now looking to boost important content longer than just the first day or two after publication.
Pinterest
Pinterest has its own stats package, called Pinterest Analytics, but only for “Business” accounts. They show how many people clicked on the outgoing links, how many people saw your pin on their screen, and much more. Here’s everything you need to know.
Reddit
Reddit successfully launched on the stock market this past week, but questions remain about how this will change the site.
Google is paying Reddit to scrape its content through the API instead of from the web.
Snapchat
Snap was a little later than most tech companies doing layoffs recently, waiting until February 5 to let 10% off staff go.
Threads
Threads is so new that the algorithm is bound to change a lot in the next year, but for right now, here is how it works.
TikTok
There is an overwhelming amount of info out there on the US attempt to either ban TikTok or force its sale, and much of it is incomplete, so I will let you Google to your heart’s content if you want to learn more. If you are relying on TikTok to drive sales, this would be a good time to make sure you diversify your promotional strategy.
You can now track trending terms on TikTok through the Creator Search Insights section. “Creator Search Insights will highlight frequently searched topics, which creators can organize by category (for example, tourism, sports, science) or tailor to their content type with the “For You” option. Additionally, creators can filter for “content gap” topics, which are highly searched but have relatively few videos on TikTok covering them.“
TikTok may be testing a photo app, which would obviously compete with Instagram.
Twitter
What? Twitter may have lied about its Super Bowl ad performance? I’m so not shocked.
Tumblr
Tumblr will be selling data access to AI companies.
YouTube
This is a pretty decent article on YouTube SEO.
(CONTENT) MARKETING (includes blogging, emails, and strategies)
Small and micro-businesses need an email list. An email list is:
portable (unlike most social media followers or marketplace buyers)
is available to almost everyone, as we all need at least one email address if we are online
less susceptible to the whims of algorithms (unlike SEO, marketplaces, social etc.)
I keep seeing people argue that no one opens emails, but the chart in the article above is proof that is still wrong. (My blog email list averages close to a 70% open rate, depending on the topic and the time I send it. My jewellery email list - which I hardly ever send to - still has an over 30% open rate. My click rates are well above the industry averages, usually 30 to 40% of all recipients for the blog list. These are much better numbers than social, and astronomically better than my clickthrough rate on Google and other search engines.)
Gmail and Yahoo both changed how they handle bulk emails such as newsletters in February. Here’s what you need to know on the basics, including authenticating yourself so your email gets through.
Find out how to get people to read all the way to the end of your content.
Get ready for April marketing with 5 topical ideas. National Handmade Day is April 6.
We should all think twice before deciding to use AI to create content. “Circa 2024, generative AI does not produce new ideas or even develop its own conclusions. Rather, it regurgitates information that it has indexed.” Not convinced? Here’s another article. “AI-generated content represents the literal “average of everything online.”
ONLINE ADVERTISING (EXCEPT INDIVIDUAL SOCIAL MEDIA AND ECOMMERCE SITES)
Google Ads can now be tracked in Google Analytics 4.
Both Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising were up in the 4th quarter of 2023.
STATS, DATA, TRACKING
Google Analytics 4 tracks organic traffic differently than the previous version. Here’s how to figure it out.
BUSINESS & CONSUMER TRENDS, STATS & REPORTS; SOCIOLOGY & PSYCHOLOGY, CUSTOMER SERVICE
I’ve probably posted this specific article before, but it is worth another read: how to communicate with customers. For example, “Mirroring your customer’s tone lets them know you’re on their side. If a customer is formal, for example, hold back on the LOLs. If they’re more casual, relax your tone.”
According to a US study, Generation Z is skewing the traditional marketing funnel. “Per Archrival’s data, 77 per cent of Gen Zs and 79 per cent of millennials in the US are actively seeking style inspiration at least monthly, with almost half of those looking for style inspiration on social media. When asked where they learn about new brands, products and experiences, video reigns supreme: YouTube is the most popular platform with Gen Zs, followed by TikTok, then Instagram.”
Trend alert: bag charms are back.
IMAGES, VIDEO, GRAPHIC DESIGN, & FREE ONLINE TOOLS

hi i wrote a song
Invisible Girl Walking
Vocals: either miku or rei idfk
LYRICS:
[SPOKEN] Hello, my name is Christine Matthews at Troupe [BLEEP], and I will be performing Invisible Girl Walking from [BLEEP], book by [BLEEP] and music by Jade Webmaster.
[INSTRUMENTAL]
I just got unplugged from the experience machine
Guess that life just wasn't for me!
Experiencing loneliness at rates unbound
If someone dies unknown, were they ever around?
I've always been this way, since middle school began
Always making plans, with my short attention span
Begging for validation, all I get is alienation
But maybe, someday, I'll be the starring role
That this pain from my head to my toes
Will cease, I'll finally be complete
But I know that's just a silly pipe dream
All I'll ever be is obsolete!
[INSTRUMENTAL + ACAPELLA(???)]
It's like I'm Mary in her room
Learning about the real world from a vacuum
I'll never be a part of their world, no matter how much I try
Sometimes I just wanna curl up and die!
1 2 3 4!
[CHORUS]
Can someone just tell me what I'm doing wrong?
What harmonies am I fumbling in this great big song?
Because everyone around me seems to immediately click, get along
But it's been years and I can't seem to find anywhere where I belong
I can see your glares of scorn
And while I don't want to signal the alarm
I can't spend all this time being tricked by your charm!
A Boltzmann girl floating through space
My mind is struck in twain
[ANOTHER INSTRUMENTAL, THIS TIME TO SIGNAL THE LIKE. END OF THE CHORUS]
Whenever I ever make a comment, I always get met with a "who cares"
My character work is one not to share
Forever stuck as the ensemble of this pointless play
My happiness is something of yesterday
If just for once, I get a morsel of your attention
Would you realize how much I've been used to your rejection?
How deserving I am of your apprehension?
Do you think I can't read between the kicklines?
Do you genuinely think I'd sit by and let you toss me aside
Well you're right
I'm sick and tired of this harmony
This self-pitying soliloquy
It's time to come clean
You all hate me
It's all a big conspiracy!
So let me die!
4 3 2 1!
[CHORUS]
A melody floats through the air
When silence falls, does no one care?
You ask me "what do you want?"
But in the end that question is only up to me and Kant
They're singing, they're dancing
You're telling me I should be prancing
So I apologize and close my eyes
I don't know what to say
I shouldn't have it my way
[INSTRUMENTAL]
[RAP]
a hivemind, a happy life
these ideals make me feel dead inside
they tell me with their help that they can make me happy
that they'll help me out of this rut
but this peer pressure is just driving me nuts
so please, tell me why you hate me
what am i doing wrong?
cause it's misery as far as i can see
THAT'S WHY IM SINGING THIS DAMN SONG
[INSTRUMENTAL AGAIN]
to be honest, i'll do anything to be a part of you lot
even if it's just for your sick plot
my happiness is a sham
so i'll gladly fall for your scam
i've already been criminalized, antagonized, and dehumanized
what's the harm with being deindividualized?
[CHORUS]
(ahhh) A final bow, A curtain vow
To end my useless life!
I can't pretend
That I can mend
These scars across my face
SAY, if this closing night
Can end my strife
This blight I call my life
I'll let it be
My final story
The bellhop's rendered obsolete
MY LAST LAMENT COMPLETE!
SAY GOODBYE TO EASY STREET!
[END]

The Google SEO Starter Guide is a fundamental resource for anyone looking to understand and implement Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for their website. With the digital landscape continually evolving, staying updated with the latest SEO practices is crucial for maintaining visibility and relevance in search engine results. Recently, Google announced a major update to its SEO Starter Guide, which is set to bring significant changes to how SEO is approached in 2024 and beyond.
The Evolution of Google’s SEO Starter Guide
The original version of Google’s SEO Starter Guide was a comprehensive manual that provided website owners and webmasters with essential information on optimizing their sites for better search engine rankings. This guide covered a range of topics, from site structure and content creation to mobile optimization and analytics.
Key Features of the Original Guide
Site Structure and Navigation: Emphasized the importance of a well-organized website for both user experience and search engine crawling.
Content Quality: Stressed the need for original, valuable content tailored to the target audience.
Mobile Optimization: Addressed the growing importance of mobile-friendly websites.
Use of Keywords: Offered advice on using keywords effectively within the content.
Analytics and Monitoring: Guided on using tools like Google Analytics to track performance and user engagement.
Anticipated Changes in the 2024 Update
According to recent announcements, the updated Google SEO Starter Guide is set to introduce new best practices and remove outdated advice, reflecting the evolving nature of search engines and user behavior. Here are some expected changes:
Enhanced Focus on User Experience (UX): As search algorithms become more sophisticated, UX is likely to play a more central role in SEO. The update might provide in-depth insights on creating user-centric designs and content.
Increased Emphasis on Mobile-First Indexing: With mobile searches dominating, the updated guide will probably place more stress on mobile-first indexing, ensuring sites are optimized for mobile users first.
Greater Importance on Page Speed and Performance: Site speed and performance have become crucial ranking factors. The new guide may offer advanced tips on improving site speed and overall performance.
Content Relevance and Quality: Given the advancements in natural language processing, the guide is expected to delve deeper into creating content that’s not just keyword-rich but also contextually relevant and of high quality.
Voice Search Optimization: With the rise of voice-assisted devices, the updated guide might include strategies for optimizing content for voice search.
Data Privacy and Security: In light of increasing concerns over data privacy and security, the guide may incorporate best practices for maintaining site security and user privacy.
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: The guide might touch upon the growing influence of AI and machine learning in SEO and how to adapt strategies accordingly.
Implications for Website Owners and SEO Professionals
The updated Google SEO Starter Guide will be more than just a manual; it will be a comprehensive roadmap to navigating the complexities of modern SEO. Website owners and SEO professionals must adapt strategies to align with these changes. Understanding Schema Markup and Its Role in SEO
Schema markup is a crucial element in modern SEO (Search Engine Optimization). It’s a form of structured data—microdata added to your website's HTML—that helps search engines better understand the content of your web pages. By doing so, it enhances how your site appears in search results, increasing your chances of attracting clicks and improving visibility.
At Sinfolix Technologies Nagpur, we specialize in integrating schema markup as part of our advanced SEO services in Nagpur, helping businesses stand out in competitive search landscapes.
Why Schema Markup Matters for SEO
1. Enhanced Search Appearance (Rich Snippets)
Schema markup enables rich snippets—enhanced search result displays that may include star ratings, reviews, prices, event times, product information, and more. These visual enhancements make your listing more eye-catching and informative. At Sinfolix Technologies, we implement schema markup to maximize your presence on SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages).
2. Increased Click-Through Rates (CTR)
Listings that use schema markup often attract more clicks. For instance, a recipe with prep time and star ratings in search results is more likely to be clicked than one without. Our SEO services in Nagpur focus on using structured data to improve CTR and drive quality traffic to your website.
3. Better Content Interpretation by Search Engines
Structured data helps search engines understand the context of your content—whether it's an event, product, article, or local business. This clarity allows for more accurate indexing and more relevant search results. Sinfolix Technologies, recognized as the Best Digital Marketing Agency in Nagpur, ensures your website content is both human-friendly and machine-readable.
4. Variety of Structured Data Types
Through Schema.org, webmasters can use a wide range of data types to describe different types of content—from products and services to articles, videos, and local business information. We select and implement the most relevant schema types to align with your business goals, ensuring higher relevance and targeting.
5. Indirect SEO Benefits
While schema markup isn’t a direct ranking factor, it indirectly influences SEO by improving user engagement through better visibility and higher CTRs. Increased traffic signals can ultimately enhance your site’s authority and rankings. With our proven SEO strategies in Nagpur, we help you tap into these advantages effectively.
6. Easy Implementation and Testing
Schema markup can be added manually or through tools and plugins, especially on platforms like WordPress. Google offers tools like the Rich Results Test and Schema Markup Validator to ensure correct implementation. Our team at Sinfolix Technologies Nagpur handles schema implementation with precision—ensuring accurate, efficient integration that aligns with Google’s best practices.
Conclusion
Incorporating schema markup into your SEO strategy can significantly boost your website’s visibility, click-through rate, and overall performance in search results. Whether you're an e-commerce business, service provider, or local brand, schema markup adds value by helping search engines—and users—understand your content more effectively.
Trust Sinfolix Technologies Nagpur, the best SEO service provider in Nagpur, to implement schema markup and elevate your digital presence. Let us help your website not just rank—but stand out.

The Evolution of SEO: From Keyword Stuffing to User Experience
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has undergone a dramatic transformation since its early days. What started as a game of cramming keywords into content has evolved into a sophisticated strategy focused on delivering value, relevance, and seamless user experiences. Today, the best SEO practices go far beyond keywords—they prioritize the user. Let’s explore how SEO has evolved and why working with the Best Search Engine Optimization Services can make all the difference in staying ahead.
The Early Days: Keyword Stuffing and Manipulation
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, search engines like Yahoo and AltaVista used relatively basic algorithms. At the time, SEO was all about visibility through keyword repetition. The more times you mentioned a keyword on a page, the higher your chances of ranking.
Webmasters quickly caught on, leading to the infamous practice of "keyword stuffing"—cramming target terms into every sentence, meta tag, and image alt attribute. Pages were often unreadable, created more for algorithms than actual humans.
Search engines responded with updates to penalize these tactics, leading to the first big SEO evolution.
The Rise of Google and Smarter Algorithms
Google revolutionized search with the introduction of PageRank, which evaluated the quantity and quality of links pointing to a page. Suddenly, backlinks became the gold standard. However, this also led to another wave of manipulation, with link farms and paid backlink schemes gaining popularity.
To counteract this, Google rolled out algorithm updates like Panda (2011), Penguin (2012), and Hummingbird (2013), targeting low-quality content and unnatural links. These updates signaled a shift toward quality over quantity.
SEO was no longer just about keywords or backlinks—it became about relevance, trust, and user intent.
The Age of Content and Intent
With Hummingbird and later RankBrain, Google began focusing on semantic search. This meant understanding what users meant, not just what they typed. Content that answered specific questions or matched the searcher’s intent started ranking higher.
This era introduced the importance of long-form content, structured data, and voice search optimization. Suddenly, SEO was not just technical—it was creative. Brands had to think like publishers, creating helpful, engaging, and authoritative content.
To meet these new demands, businesses started turning to the Best Search Engine Optimization Services that offered full-spectrum strategies—covering everything from technical audits to content marketing.
Mobile-First and Core Web Vitals: UX Takes Center Stage
Fast forward to the 2020s, and SEO is now heavily influenced by user experience (UX). Google's mobile-first indexing means your mobile site is what counts most. Page speed, mobile usability, and safe browsing are all ranking factors.
In 2021, Google introduced Core Web Vitals—metrics that measure page loading performance, interactivity, and visual stability. These are clear signals that the user experience directly impacts your rankings.
Today, if your site is slow, hard to navigate, or poorly designed, no amount of keyword optimization will help. That’s why investing in the Best Search Engine Optimization Services is essential. These services combine UX design, technical SEO, and content optimization to deliver results that align with modern search algorithms.
What’s Next for SEO?
As AI and machine learning continue to evolve, so will SEO. Search engines are getting better at understanding context, sentiment, and even visual content. Voice and visual search are growing. Personalization is increasing. And with the rise of generative AI, the way people search—and the results they expect—are shifting.
Staying ahead means staying agile. Whether it’s optimizing for voice queries or integrating AI into your content strategy, the future of SEO is about adapting quickly and always prioritizing the user.
Final Thoughts
SEO has come a long way—from robotic keyword stuffing to creating human-centric, user-friendly experiences. Today, succeeding in search means understanding both the technical and human sides of the internet.
Partnering with the Best Search Engine Optimization Services ensures your strategy is future-proof, ethical, and effective. In a world where algorithms constantly evolve, having expert guidance can be the difference between visibility and obscurity.

3 Key Reasons You Need SEO This Year to Boost Your Business Sales
It is time to reconsider your choice to reduce your SEO spend for several reasons. You ought to hire a certified SEO consulting expert to direct your strategy. In 2025, you should still engage an SEO specialist for the following reasons: The Position of Search Engines The significance of search engine result pages (SERPs) is highlighted by the fact that the majority of internet users begin their experience with a search engine. You are almost nonexistent if your website does not rank highly for the target keywords in search engine results pages.
You should have a strong presence for your target term here because the majority of internet users utilize Google, Yahoo, and Bing to locate what they're looking for online. Behind the scenes, an SEO consulting expert will utilize white hat tactics to improve your ranking and ensure faster load times for a more satisfying user experience. Acquiring Knowledge of Trends The majority of your time as a business owner is spent on your primary operations, leaving SEO to your internal IT staff or a webmaster. In actuality, none of these experts are yet in a position to comprehend the SEO trends that they may use to raise your site's rating in search engine results pages and enhance the user experience.
Voice search, long-tail keywords, lengthy content, machine, and deep learning, responsive site design, and local search are some of the trends that will be most significant in 2025. These developments all require technical know-how that can only be provided by an SEO consulting specialist.
Cost-effectiveness Online advertising may be done in a variety of methods, such as lead purchase, social media, Facebook advertisements, and PPC. However, when compared to all of these tactics, SEO consulting is more economical and efficient. As a startup in Canada, you may lack the resources to advertise your company, but with a thorough SEO plan, your expert in Canada will help you rank higher in search engine results.
