5 Company Event Ideas You Can Do In an Axe Throwing Venue
Step aside from the ordinary and step into an unforgettable corporate holiday party experience! This year, why not transform your traditional office festivities into something truly extraordinary? Pick an Axe Throwing Holiday Tournament for these amazing Corporate Event Ideas or for a birthday party for your loved ones.
Whether it's themed costume parties, ugly sweater contests with a twist, holiday-themed team-building challenges, or even a White Elephant Axe Exchange, you're in for a memorable and unconventional celebration that will undoubtedly stand out and leave your colleagues talking about it for years to come. So, sharpen your axes and get ready for a holiday party like no other!
5 Axe Throwing Themed Party Ideas for your Next Company Event
Themed Costume Party
Encourage your colleagues to get into the holiday spirit by hosting a themed costume party at the axe throwing venue. Ask participants to dress up as their favorite holiday characters, be it Santa Claus, elves, reindeer, or even characters from classic holiday movies. The venue's rustic ambiance can be transformed with festive decorations, making it a cozy and memorable backdrop for your holiday costumes and celebrations.

Ugly Sweater Contest and Axe Throwing
Ugly sweater contests are a holiday tradition, and combining this with axe throwing can be a fantastic idea. Have everyone wear their most outlandish, festive, and 'ugly' holiday sweaters, and then engage in axe throwing near Denver. Participants can compete to see who can keep their cool while wearing the most outrageous holiday-themed sweaters. Prizes can be awarded to the best (or worst) sweaters and the most accurate throwers.
Holiday Team Building Challenges
Leverage the axe throwing venue for holiday-themed team building activities. Design a series of challenges or games that require collaboration and communication among team members. For example, you can have teams work together to hit specific holiday targets or solve holiday-themed puzzles while throwing axes. It's an entertaining way to strengthen team bonds during the festive season.
White Elephant Axe Exchange
Put a unique twist on the traditional white elephant gift exchange by incorporating axe throwing. Participants can bring a wrapped gift and take turns throwing axes to determine the order in which they get to choose a gift. This adds an element of surprise and excitement to the gift exchange. Make sure the gifts are creative, funny, or useful, and watch as your colleagues enjoy a memorable and laughter-filled exchange.
Be Careful of the Landmines
Landmines Axe Throwing Game is the wild child of outdoor fun, mashing up bullseye-axe throwing with a sassy twist. It's a game where you aim your throwing axes at a massive wooden target board, painted with all sorts of high-point targets and sneaky "landmines" lurking around.
The deal? Players take turns stepping up to the plate, or, well, the throwing line, and boldly declare their target of choice before they sling that axe. Bullseyes mean a nice bump in the score. But, watch out! These landmines are total party-poopers. If you hit one, you're in for some point deduction action.
The game keeps rolling for a set number of rounds or until someone totally rocks it and scores a pre-set point threshold. The one with the fanciest score at the end is crowned the axe-slinging champ.
Conclusion
These Corporate event ideas in an axe throwing venue offer a fun and adventurous way to celebrate the season while fostering team camaraderie and creating lasting memories. It's an unconventional yet exciting way to make your holiday party stand out and leave a lasting impression on your colleagues.
If you are looking for a great corporate party venue for axe throwing near Denver, make sure to check out Propel Axe. Activity PSA: Sept. to Dec. 2022
OOC: Hey everyone! As you all may or may not know, I the mun have several jobs (one part-time mainly taking place on weekends, one freelance, and one that was supposed to be a temp. full-time job during this summer) outside of RP and so I can get pretty busy at times.
However, I just got the offer from my employers for my temp full-time job to continue working with them from September to the end of Dec. 2022, instead of mid-August as originally planned when I was first hired, in a new position similar to the one I was initially hired for—and I said yes!
The new role is a little different from what I had when initially working with them but either way I’m excited to continue working with them beyond the summer. My hours have also been increased slightly as well (40 instead of 35 a week!).
This means, however, that you can expect acitivity to continue to be slow at times from me, and all replies will be queued (unless I’m replying in the evening, which in that case they might not be queued). I may need to put a couple blogs on hiatus if neeeded as well but I really hope I don’t have to resort to this. This will especially be the case when the Christmas season rolls around, since my part-time job requires me to work during the Christmas holidays (which happen to also fall on a weekend this year, aaaaaaa).
Thanks for your patience and understanding! I really appreciate it a lot. <3
#ooc#mun speaks#activity psa#rp psa#psa#will reblog several times to let you all know as needed#both on this blog and other blogs

Over the weekend I got hold of acitate and I decided to create an original pattern based on fences and couches. I took elements of both. I decided to drew a basic stripped back sillohette of a couch repeated multiple times like the fence pattern is.

About Kathy renting a house near Camp Toccoa and how disconnected people state-side from people at war
Source: Biggest Brother; Conversations with Major Dick Winters; Social notes in Pinehurst North Carolina newspaper “The Charlotte Observer” 1943-1945
Biggest Brother: “Winters knew her somewhat. She had taken a house near Camp Toccoa while the 506th was in training, and Nixon had often invited Winters to the house for meals or conversation.”
Conversations with Major Dick Winters: “Nixon had been married, but he had no love at home. I went to his house many times. He would invite, not just me, but he would invite a group of officers and company to his home on weekends.“
This house was actually near Camp Mackall & Fort Bragg in North Carolina (or, it’s possible that Kathy rented houses in both Toccoa and NC)----but the place discussed here is the one in North Carolina.
The house was called “Primrose Cottage” in a neighbourhood named “Cottage Colony” (somewhere near Cherokee Rd, Pinehurst, North Carolina)----20min by car to Camp Mackall; 40min by car to Fort Bragg.
Miss Paola de Janze (who later became the Countess de Rougemount) was living at Primrose Cottage with Kathy and Lewis Nixon. She was a grandniece of Simeon Brooks Chapin (a famous financier and philanthropist who founded the Pinehurst Soldiers’ Lounge). She was an ethusiast of equestrian and Polo match. She was also a socialite and quite acitive in high society, and that’s why we can find Lewis Nixon’s name in the social notes of North Carolina.
Kathy was living in Pinehurst from March 1943 to March 1945 (Lewis Nixon was shipped to England in Sep 1943 but she was 8-month pregnant back then so she can’t travel back to Arizona. Michael was born in Pinehurt NC in Oct 1943. She lived in Pinehurst until March 1945, then she moved to CA to live with Mrs Stanhope Nixon (only for a brief time before the divorce).
I was thinking the cottage was like a modest 2-bedroom townhouse, but now I think I might be very WRONG. and prob it’s not only Kathy that Dick didn’t like. It’s probable that Dick didn’t like the whole neighborhood. Here is why:
Dick mentioned that he was invited to Nixon’s place along with other officers. I was thinking it’s Harry and Hester and other officers from 101. But probably not only them. Here in the social notes showed whom Mrs Lewis Nixon dined with: 12 Dec 1943 "Following cocktails in the Pine Room at The Carolina, Miss Paola de Jonze gave a dinner in honor of her sister...Her other guests were Mrs Lewis Nixon, Lt. Nicholas Biddle......” This Lt. Nicholas Biddle was the son of renowned Anthony Drexel Biddle, who was a US ambassador, from the famous Biddle family of Philadelphia (Norman Dike’s mother pretended to be from this Biddle family but she was actually not).
Also living in the “Cottage Colony” neighborhood was Liet Col. J. Stillman Rockefeller (James Stillman Rockefeller) from the Rockefeller family.
On 17th December 1944, German invaded Bastogne, and on the same day these activities were going on in Pinehurst: "Christmas is in every Pinehurst plan. The hotels and cottages alike look to a gala holiday, with many servicemen on leave...For Christmas Day an equestrian afternoon is schedules, with a horse show in the Carolina ring...The Golf club's annual turkey shoot will be held on Saturday...Miss Paola de Janze, who lives at Primrose cottage with Capt. and Mrs Lewis Nixon, shot the goal which made the difference between win and tie when she played at the Pinehurst polo match."
In summary, at the Pinehurst Soldiers' lounge and Country Club there was endless bridge games, dinner parties, golf tournaments, polo matches, horseback ridings (all the prominent horse owners are “wintering their horses” here) There were equestrian matches and polo games between Camp Mackall and Fort Bragg, in 1944! On 1st Jan 1944 “a soldier escaped prison in Camp Mackall on a thoroughbred mare”, and on 16 Jan 1944: "Pinehusrt's servicemen's lounge seemed "a bit o' Heaven" last week to the airborne troops completing their maneuvers in this vicinity and coming in from the "battle" area after a bout with sleet and snow, as well as a four-day fight with an imaginary enemy. All day Saturday and during part of Sunday, busy hostesses served sandwiches, cookies, cakes and hot coffee to the boys.”
I mean, when I read Dick’s book about Fort Bragg “You would think that after two months of not sleeping on a bed, dirty clothes, and trudging up and down the Tennessee hills, one would relish the peaceful surroundings of Fort Bragg.”----I was like “OK, so Fort Bragg has clean beds and hot shower” but then when I read about social activities at Pinehusrt's servicemen's lounge in old newspapers I was like “IS THERE A WAR???OR IT’S IN A PARALLELE WORLD???” From the social notes of Pinehurst locals, the life in Camp Mackall was like a holiday resort! No suprise Kathy thought her husband abandoned her to have all the fun in war games

Collecting chestnuts!
Name of activity: Collecting chestnuts
Date: 31.10.2020.
Approximate number of hours: 3 hours
Type of activity: service, activity
Learning outcomes:
Demonstrated how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.
Showed commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.
Demonstrated the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.
As you have probably noticed, I have spent my Halloween collecting chestnuts. What can I say, it was in the spirit of Spooktober! My family, that is, my mom, dad and brother decided to go to a forest nearby our weekend home. It is a small forest on a hill in Riječani nearby a small Italian church. We have decided to go collecting because chestnuts in the city are quite expensive and you never know what they use for treating them (chemicals), so an option directly from nature is not such a bad idea. Also - what a way to spend an autumn afternoon!
When we arrived with our car, we got on foot and started going into the forest. There are many chestnut trees there thus finding chestnuts was not a problem. Each of us got a bag and started searching for them. I have to say, the fact that chestnuts have these “spiky shields” often made it hard to come to a chestnut itself thus I have been hurt a number of times. Also, going up the hill in the river of dry leaves makes you feel like you’re playing Russian roulette: you never know if you’ll step into something! However, all the perks aside, it was fun. I brought my analog Nikon camera to capture my family in this autumn forest Idilla and even got some photos on film. We managed to collect 3-4 kilos of chestnuts which is not bad at all! Since I have been sick at the moment, I was glad I could celebrate Halloween in an autumn and Octobery spirit with my family.
What surprised me the most is the fresh air. Living in the city can make you feel as if you are choked due to all of the smog and gases produced by cars. Also, the amount of mushrooms I have seen made me really wonder how polluted my city really is. However, I was kinda dissapointed when I saw the alarming quantities of trash concentrated at certain areas. People really don’t value their treasures sometimes.
What did we do with those chestnuts? Some of them were invaded by worms, which we did not know. Those worms ate our baggies when we got home in the city. Our neighbour in Riječani fried the chestnuts for us because he had the equipment for it, thus we spent our Halloween night inside a warm, small house eating fried chestnuts. Oh, what a time to be alive!
Reflection:
I am really happy I got this kind of experience since I rarely go in the nature due to my obligations. I would do it again, for sure. I am mostly glad because I got some time to spend with my family outside of our home and doing a fun acitivity. And, most importantly, I ate a lot of fried chestnuts, which I a d o r e!!! I sure hope we go to that forest again or even visit that Italian church.

{{ Now that we’ve addressed that, it’s time to get on with my day. I’ll be doing a LOT of packing this week. It’s sorta up to me to get it all done before this weekend so I gotta get to it. I’ll try and be around more, but like I’ve said before, my acitivity won’t be 100% normal until after August. I’ll reply to what I can and have the muse/energy for, but please be patient with this stressed bean. }}

"Into the Woods" with Off Broad Street Players at the Levoy Theater in Millville, NJ
By: Ricky Young-Howze
I wish more than anything, more than life that I could totally watch Off Broad Street Player's Production of "Into the Woods" at the Levoy Theatre again. This musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine co-directed by Domonic Barnes and Walter A. Webster brought us on a journey to many moments in the woods and a lifetime in our hearts!

These are the stories you've all seen before, or have you? Do you really know the story of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and Jack and the Bean Stalk? Do you really think you have Prince Charming down pat? Into the Woods tells us what happens after "Ever After"? What happens after the fairy tale is done?
Directors Domonic Barnes and Walter A. Webster direction seemed to bend time that made us feel like we spent three midnights ourselves in this rich world of the stage but also seemed to make us feel that we had spent hardly any time in the theatre. This also meant that there were moments that seemed to drag on stage and I felt that pacing was off. Of course this was the Sunday Matinee after a powerhouse opening weekend so I'm sure that everyone was dragging a bit this afternoon. The great news is that when everyone was singing you never even dared to look away

Andrew Jarema as the Baker was toxic masculinity at its best. I don't always like the Baker because I don't get him. Then I saw the confusion and longing in his performance and I got it.
April Lindley as the Baker's Wife really made my day. I come to this show just to see her story sometimes because there's a lot of meat on the bone in Sondheim's lyrics. But what she does with them and how deftly she turns a phrase and lives in her moments really touched my heart. Great job!

Gabriella Prato as Little Red Riding Hood showed me things oh some beautiful things (I'm sorry I just had to) with her powerful voice that had my ears ringing all the way in the back row. If this is her as a Sophomore at ACIT I only see a very happy life in the theatre ahead of her.
They say a slotted spoon can catch the potato but Alex Manzo as Jack really served it up thick! I didn't know about him at first and then I heard him open up in "Giants in the Sky". And now I know a thing now that I never knew before (this is one of my favorite musicals I'm not going to stop) and that is that this young man has a voice like honey! I want to see and hear more from him!
Katie Hughes as the Witch is both icky and fascinating. She had such a sweet voice and a biting wit that made me smile.
David Fuzco as the Narrator gave us a balance to this fanciful world we are thrust into. His dry humor really made me and my wife laugh.

Shaun Laurencio as Rapunzel's Prince had a voice a smooth as velvet that made me melt. Then as the wolf he had a voice that made me cringe. Kudos to becoming a character that made me so happy when he got skinned but then a Prince that made me hate when he got blinded. Now if you want me I have to go home and take a shower to get that wolf voice off my skin.

My wife was a fan of a curvy and full voiced Cinderella! Krissy Joe Slough's Cinderella really gave me lots of joy with her power and vivaciousness.
Cheyenne Shaud as Rapunzel had a voice that was as free from imperfection as her hair was free from split ends and tangles. This is her first time with OBSP and I hope she really puts down roots (I know bad pun) on the Levoy Stage.

Can I just say that seeing April Johnson as shrewish Lucinda in that gawdy pink dress made my day! I miss her face so much and loved seeing her playing such a "heel".
Also a huge shout-out to the performance of Milky White who played herself. It's hard to give milk on command but that's just a sign of a bovine that's dedicated to her craft. Would really love to see her in future productions. A big shout out to her owner, Gabriel Productions, for letting OBSP rent her for the production. A special shout out to Cara May and all the wonderful work she did making the other props like beanstalks that grow to the clouds and golden harps from the sky.

Lighting Design by Tyler Daddario turned the woods into a primeval mystery full of shadows and beams of light that pierced the air.
Jason D. Smith's Scenic Design was a perfect counterpart to this lighting with dark greens and browns and tall gnarly trees. When these two designs merge we get a dark and spooky world forvourvshow to live in. Great job.

Music Direction by Walter A. Webster with Conductor Dominic Scalfero deserves a real loud shout-out! You have warm strings and horns with a dulcet reed section rounded out by lilting strings. This creates a dark sound that keeps the pace moving.
Movement Direction by Domonic Barnes gave me choreography so good that I had no clue I was looking at choreography. Let me explain. Everything was so seamless that I was just like "and this is the world now. This is how the universe moves now." It's the choreography that hacks your brain that's the best.
Costume Design by Shaun Laurencio is my life right now! There are beautiful flowing dresses and doublets and tunics. There are rich colors and vibrant hues! One thing I know about Shaun is that I couldn't think of anyone better to clothe these demented Disney princesses and princes.

Hair and Makeup Design by John Rattacasa just made me squeal with glee! You have wigs and curls and tresses by the plenty for him to work his magic! And then you have the sea of pretty made up faces. Each one of them is a masterpiece!
Now it's time to leave the Woods but I hope that you get to make your own journey this next weekend. This show has some great moments full of laughs, tears, and love. Just know that you're never the same coming out as you were coming in. But you just have to make the journey.

On We Go
I’m happy with this new year, so far...haha. It’s the fifth day of the new year and so far I’m in love with it. I feel like it’s going to be a year of focus, putting things together, getting things done, cut the procrastination out! I love all of the above. It’s Winter in California, there’s been a virus running around in Los Angeles that’s turned out to be a pest...so some of us are a bit slow into the action... but it’s there. My New Year’s Eve was the best I had in some time. It was really something. It was a surprise. How I ended up in this magnificent Buddhist Temple up in the hills, with views of Downtown and surrounded by nice, warm, good looking people is a fantastic story on its own. Add to that an amazing meditation technique, good food and music and you get the feeling. I hadn’t meditate for the turn of the year in quite sometime. And even when I did it, back in New York, it was not nearly as charming as this time. So hurray NYE! Hurray Buddhist! Hurray meditation!
Right off the new year gate we have the NFL playoffs which are a favorite. We also have the Golden Globes, another favorite with the brilliant Ricky Gervais hosting it. I’m carless this weekend , fitting for the game watching and I’m enjoying it. No no Ubers, which I hate- I know I’m the only person that hates Uber- but besides watching a lot of games, there’s lots of walking. Walking does it to me. Science proves it, as it’s one of the few acitivities that equally uses both sides of our brain. The Patriots lost to the Titans yesterday and the Titans had a serious boring game including a hideous delay of game that ate almost 2 min of clock time. They won it but it was ugly. I wish we win in 2020. But beautifully, playing the game, without phony waste of precious game time.

Sunday 24/03/2019
Interesting start of the day: Thai brunch. Thanks to MeetUp of course. Next to a Buddhist temple, ten or more stands were selling Thai food - fresh and very tasty. I enjoyed great company and great food. It’s not that clear in the pictures but the sun was burning (28°C)!

After brunch I went for a hike with a friend. It’s surprising how many parks and hiking places Dallas (and America in general!) has. You can find some really beautiful spots over here. I wasn’t aware of that before I moved here.
Last stop of the day: iFly: indoor skydiven! Bucket list item: check! I was super excited for this acitivity and it did not disappoint! Thanks to our MeetUp organizer we each had 2 flights of 90 seconds, which is more than usual. I had a lot of fun. First flight was about learning how to control your body, perfecting the technique. Apparently I was a good student and at the end of my first flight my instructor taught me how to turn around on my own, using me hands. That was interesting! At the end of our second flight, the instructor would hold you and take you up to a high flight. Too bad I can’t share a video here.

This was amazing! You don’t have a butterfly feeling like you would expect. This experience gave me more courage to jump out of a plane and do a real skydive!
After skydiving, we went out for dinner together. Delicious pizza to end this amazing weekend, awesome! Weekends like this remind me why I am here again. Really living and enjoying my life. I’m very greatful for this year in Dallas.
