_Art Book of Naruto Uzumaki_ Part-5

This one was fun simply because I got to draw in a different style. It was great to depict Naruto and Sasuke, or I should say, toad and hawk.

I wanted to express the concept of the main storyline, where Naruto and Sasuke come into conflict, in a single image. Since they know each other so well, they aren't showing hostility even as they cross knives. They look rather calm. I thought that if I gave them obviously antagonistic expressions, it would come off as too deliberate. By hiding their feelings, I hoped the calm atmosphere would seem chilling. I put the two motifs of sky and sea in the background in order to express a sense of the characters' conflict and contrast. The green and red, and the sky and sea, represent things that never mix.

I wanted a sense of symmetry in this picture with Naruto rolling over Sasuke's back. I positioned these two with their arms and legs in similar stances, then I balanced the overall composition by putting two crossing scrolls in the background. Also, the scroll Naruto is holding forms a circle...yep, it's an X and an O (laugh). Basically, it was symmetry that kept me focused on the overall balance in this one. Looking at this picture now, it appears that my drawing style has changed a bit since then. Maybe I've been influenced by the anime? This is one I like a lot.

This is one of my favorites. I focused on making a symmetrical composition here too. The symmetrical elements include the chain and the cord, and Naruto and Sasuke's arms. To keep the picture from looking cramped and static, I added the cloaks blowing in the wind. I think Naruto's and Sasuke's tangled limbs turned out nicely.

This was on the front cover of Jump. I got a request to draw something like a superhero team for kids. Those heroes really strike great poses, don't they? This is Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura in hero poses. I wondered if Sasuke's personality would allow him to pose like that. But I knew Naruto would be willing to pose for sure, and so would Sakura, so I thought it'd be okay for Sasuke to strike a pose, if somewhat bashfully.

The Rules
1: unless tagged #spoilers, any novel I post will not contain plot spoilers but may contain vibe spoilers or allusion to events; I may talk about what the story is About that the dust jacket or my own synopsis may not make obvious but I won't tell you who killed somebody or a cool twist
2: I'd I post a book here it is because I finished it and liked it, OR I finished it and need to untangle why I didn't. Novels I simply don't enjoy I don't finish anymore, as a rule, but I may break it if something about it compels me to finish it. I've only had to do it twice in the last year, but both novels were so antithetical to my enjoyment that it made me actually feel mad about trying to read them.
3: I'm not gonna rate them. I don't like ratings systems, I'm not gonna try to hammer something into a number, and forcing it is just going to be dumb. I did think about making a 7 point criteria list that if a novel met it I would declare perfect, but that's too much work. Maybe in a lull of books or something I'll hammer one out. If I do, one point will be "did it contain a character wielding a sword flicking the blood from their blade before sheathing it?"
4: no rereads. I have a bad habit of returning to old books series when I have so many books that interest me that I'd like to break, so for 2024 unless I need to for something wild like a series entry I'm not expecting, no rereads.
5: There's gonna be some nonfiction in here. I've got a couple of things at the top of my to-read list that are political or social in nature, but if you're following me or reading these you probably can attune yourself to my political stances to know what's up pretty quickly. That said, I'm gonna talk about social shit occasionally even outside of those, so idk if that's a big deal but, yknow.
6: fuck it, we ball

🚨 BREAKING NEWS! 🚨
Hunter x hunter "disappeared" by shonen jump's site

5 hours ago the HxH part has been removes from the weekly shonen jump site. The best case scenario is that is moving to a monthly serialization, probably on JUMP +. Before panico starts spreading, i like to remember to all of you that this comunication made by shonen jump exist.

We must hope and REMEMBER that this is all for Togashi sensei's wellbeing. There's no official news yet.

How the Chainsaw Man Anime Adaptation Grounded Itself in Filmic Realism
Editor: Masha Zhdanova In our current era, it is difficult to imagine that Tatsuki Fujimoto is anything less than a household name. His landmark work, Chainsaw Man, enchants millions in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump every week, and characters like Makima, Power, and Denji are icons among anime and manga fans. In 2011, though, Fujimoto was just an upstart, whose debut one-shot, Niwa ni wa Niwa…

Oh hey it was over a decade ago that Tsukishima showed up in Bleach and I got real weirded out because at the time I was still a scraggly weirdo, wearing suspenders and button downs on the regular(top two undone), my hair was that exact horrible neck length center part but with one hand run back thru it. I even have a forehead scar, though not exactly like Tsukishima's. Only difference was I wear glasses.

Weekly Shonen Jump - March 2011, Bleach chapter 438. I think at the time we had some retail insider feeding us early scans and leaks, because it looks like the official street date on this was March 14th, but my old fb memories thing pitched me this the other day.

BASTARD!!

Scioccati? Lo sono anche io. A quanto pare, l’adattamento targato studio LIDEN FILMS (Cells at Work! Black, Blade of the Immortal) esiste davvero e sarà diretto Takaharu Ozaki (Goblin Slayer, Girls' Last Tour) e sceneggiato da Yousuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia, Hellsing Ultimate).

Yoko Tia Noto: Tomori Kusunoki (Futaba in My Senpai is Annoying)

Gara: Hiroki Yasumoto (Apeas in Ranking of Kings)
