Unlocking Perpetual Futures Contracts: Essential 2024 Guide for Beginners
Tumblr media
Are you ready to take your trading to the next level with a financial instrument that offers endless opportunities and flexibility?
Perpetual futures contracts have emerged as a revolutionary tool in the trading arena, particularly for cryptocurrency enthusiasts. These contracts, unlike traditional futures, do not have an expiration date, allowing traders to hold positions indefinitely. This feature provides a significant advantage, enabling continuous trading and the ability to take advantage of long-term market trends. The funding rate mechanism, which periodically adjusts to keep contract prices in line with the spot prices of the underlying assets, ensures a balanced and fair trading environment.
Leverage is a key feature of perpetual futures contracts, allowing traders to control larger positions with a smaller capital investment. This can significantly amplify profits, but also poses a risk of larger losses, making risk management a crucial aspect of trading these contracts. The real-time mark-to-market settlement process adjusts traders' margin balances continuously, ensuring that gains and losses are promptly accounted for. This mechanism helps prevent sudden liquidations and keeps traders informed about their margin requirements.
Despite the numerous benefits, perpetual futures come with their own set of risks, including market volatility and fluctuating funding rates. Traders must have a solid understanding of these risks and employ effective strategies to mitigate them.
Intelisync, a pioneer in blockchain technology and exchange development, offers advanced solutions to enhance the security and functionality of perpetual futures trading. Hey Tracy! Have you heard about the new Ai called Sora? Apparently it can now create 2D and 3D animations as well as hyper realistic videos. I’ve been getting into animation and trying to improve my art for years since I was 7, but now seeing that anyone can create animation/works in just a mare seconds by typing in a couple words, it’s such a huge slap in the face to people who actually put the time and effort into their works and it’s so discouraging! And it has me worried about what’s going to happen next for artists and many others, as-well. There’s already generated voices, generated works stolen from actual artists, generated music, and now this! It’s just so scary that it’s coming this far.
Yeah, I've seen it. And yeah, it feels like the universe has taken on a 'fuck you in particular' attitude toward artists the past few years. A lot of damage has already been done, and there are plenty of reasons for concern, but bear in mind that we don't know how this will play out yet. Be astute, be justifiably angry, but don't let despair take over. --------
One would expect that the promo clips that have been dropping lately represent some of the best of the best-looking stuff they've been able to produce. And it's only good-looking on an extremely superficial level. It's still riddled with problems if you spend even a moment observing. And I rather suspect, prior to a whole lot of frustrated iteration, most prompts are still going to get you camera-sickness inducing, wibbly-wobbly nonsense with a side of body horror.
Will the tech ultimately get 'smarter' than that and address the array of typical AI giveaways? Maybe. Probably, even. Does that mean it'll be viable in quite the way it's being marketed, more or less as a human-replacer? Well…
A lot of this is hype, and hype is meant to drive up the perceived value of the tech. Executives will rush to be early adopters without a lot of due diligence or forethought because grabbing it first like a dazzled chimp and holding up like a prize ape-rock makes them look like bleeding-edge tech geniuses in their particular ecosystem. They do this because, in turn, that perceived value may make their company profile and valuations go up too, which makes shareholders short-term happy (the only kind of happy they know). The problem is how much actual functional value will it have? And how long does it last? Much of it is the same routine we were seeing with blockchain a few years ago: number go up. Number go up always! Unrealistic, unsustainable forever-growth must be guaranteed in this economic clime. If you can lay off all of your people and replace them with AI, number goes up big and never stops, right?
I have some doubts. ----------------------
The chips also haven't landed yet with regards to the legality of all of this. Will these adopters ultimately be able to copyright any of this output trained on datasets comprised of stolen work? Can computer-made art even be copyrighted at all? How much of a human touch will be required to make something copyright-able? I don't know yet. Neither do the hype team or the early adopters.
Does that mean the tech will be used but will have to be retrained on the adopter's proprietary data? Yeah, maybe. That'd be a somewhat better outcome, at least. It still means human artists make specific things for the machine to learn from. (Watch out for businesses that use 'ethical' as a buzzword to gloss over how many people they've let go from their jobs, though.)
Will it become industry standard practice to do things this way? Maybe. Will it still require an artist's sensbilities and oversignt to plan and curate and fix the results so that it doesn't come across like pure AI trash? Yeah, I think that's pretty likely.
If it becomes standard practice, will it become samey, and self-referential and ultimately an emblem of doing things the cookie-cutter way instead of enlisting real, human artists? Quite possibly.
If it becomes standard industry practice, will there still be an audience or a demand or a desire for art made by human artists? Yes, almost certainly. With every leap of technology, that has remained the case. ------------------ TL;DR Version:
I'm not saying with any certainty that this AI blitz is a passing fad. I think we're likely to experience a torrential amount of generative art, video, voice, music, programming, and text in the coming years, in fact, and it will probably irrevocably change the layout of the career terrain. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was being overhyped as a business strategy right now. And I don't think the immensity of its volume will ever overcome its inherent emptiness.
What I am certain of is that it will not eliminate the innate human impulse to create. Nor the desire to experience art made by a fellow soul. Keep doing your thing, Anon. It's precious. It's authentic. It will be all the more special because it will have come from you, a human.

would you be interested in doing a post on crypto? Such as your experience with it and how it works. And why it is important ? it still confusing for me to fully grasp. Thank you :)
Crypto is digital money that exists only electronically. It’s not controlled by central banks or governments. It uses blockchain technology—a ledger enforced by a network of computers.
You store your crypto in digital wallets and can use it for purchases and investments. Just like stock market you can convert to real dollars and withdrawal.
For the last couple of years, large financial companies have been testing a quantum financial system (ISO 20022) which would be an international standard for exchanging electronic messages in the financial industry. This is estimated to be rolled out on a large scale in about a decade.
XRP for example is a digital currency created by Ripple to enable quick money transfers. Some believe it could play a key role in a future global financial system, often referred to as the Quantum Financial System (QFS), by acting as a bridge currency that facilitates value exchange between different currencies and networks.
In plain words, cryptocurrency is a new form of currency and we are still in the beginning stages of it all. Which means the ability to make a ton of money easier than ever before :) Bitcoin is a perfect example, was at 40k I believe beginning of the year and now 100k, this means that if you invested $5,000 USD in January, you would now have made 13,000 USD letting it just sit there. If you are actively trading in crypto and meme coins you have the ability to 100x your returns. For example when people buy in to a coin that’s trending/ new/ getting hype, like XRP recently, there is a significant surge.
To trade crypto you can use centralized exchanges like Binance, Fidelity Investments, Robinhood Crypto, OANDA etc. These platforms allow you to buy, sell and trade various cryptos. This is basically what the general population does. There are other ways like using bots, staking, futures and options, margins and leverage etc.
With meme coins, as they trend you have the ability to make a lot of money overnight. This ofcourse depends on your ability to study the trends and the communities built around those coins. It is always a risk!!!!
Here’s an example for meme coins:
$330k to $34M (100x) in less than 2h for a meme coin created for Luigi Mangione last week. So if you had put in $3,000 in the coin when it was at 330k, in 2 hours you would have made $300,000.
I can’t say enough that this involves you being on top of trends and markets.
Tumblr media
THIS IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE!!! The market is very volatile and you are basically gambling your money! Staying informed is crucial!!!! :)

Tim Stokely, founder of the adult content platform OnlyFans, has submitted an eleventh-hour proposal to buy TikTok’s US operations from its Chinese owner, ByteDance.
The “intent to bid” was made by Zoop—a social media startup Stokely cofounded with RJ Phillips, who serves as CEO and has a background in influencer marketing strategy—and cryptocurrency company The Hbar Foundation. For Zoop, the bid “represents a David vs. Goliath moment against traditional social media giants by endorsing a creator-first revolution,” according to a statement the company shared with WIRED. They said they want to put power back in the hands of creators through better revenue sharing.
ByteDance is up against the clock. If the company does not agree to a proposal from a US buyer by April 5, TikTok will be banned in the US under a law that went into effect in January citing national security concerns.
“The process is actually very unique; it’s being run by the White House and not by ByteDance,” Phillips tells WIRED, declining to comment further on the particulars of how the Zoop bid came about. “Our external council found the right person for us to initiate conversations with and that's what we've done.” Stokely did not respond to a request for comment.
On Wednesday, President Donald Trump was scheduled to consider multiple offers during a closed-door Oval Office meeting with vice president JD Vance and US secretary of commerce Howard Lutnick, who are spearheading the sale. His plan to keep TikTok operating in the US was reportedly going to be announced late that day, according to The Information.
The US government’s concerns around TikTok purportedly stem from fears that the Chinese government could access Americans’ data. But partnering with Hbar could potentially work in Zoop's favor; the company’s statement says Hbar operates the Hedera network, “a secure, transparent, and enterprise-grade public ledger” blockchain technology based in the US.
Stokely and Phillips are perhaps the most surprising of the suitors gunning for control of the popular video app.
“We’ve been looking at social for a long time, given our past. We want to restructure the industry in a way that we think is equitable,” Phillips tells WIRED, brushing away speculation that Zoop’s offer came together at the last minute. “Creators bring eyeballs to the pages, and therefore they should be the ones sharing in the lion’s share of the ad revenue. Users that are engaging with that content should also be the ones benefiting.”
Amazon also put in a last-minute offer to buy TikTok this week, joining four other groups that the White House was considering for the sale of TikTok’s US operations, Reuters reported. According to the The New York Times, the Amazon bid is not being taken seriously. One of the other possible deals floating around, per the Times, includes bringing on a team of US investors that includes Larry Ellison’s Oracle and private equity firm Blackstone.
There is also the possibility that an American investment team purchases TikTok while ByteDance retains ownership of TikTok’s algorithm and leases it to the prospective buyer. China has given no indication that it would be willing to sell the app’s algorithm, and exporting that type of technology would require its sign-off as part of a host of restrictions introduced in 2020.
Phillips says they are invested in building platforms that truly prioritize creators.
“Tech platforms for businesses like this should merely be the facilitator for creators. Creators have a hard enough time making steady income,” he says. “For us it's always going to focus on creators first, and not on shareholders first.”
We will soon know whether or not the Trump administration aligns with that vision.

Tumblr media
What is VR and AR?
Virtual Reality (VR) is a technology that enables users to interact within a computer-simulated environment.
Augmented Reality (AR), on the other hand, combines elements of VR by merging the real world with computer-generated simulations. A well-known example of AR is the popular game Pokémon Go, where virtual objects are integrated into real-world surroundings.
Tumblr media
Tang LiCi's universe
The Shui Long Yin film crew has digitally modeled the core art assets, 50 000 square meters.
Tumblr media
What technologies does China Mobile & Migu bring to the table?
China Mobile served as the lead organizer for the 2023 World VR Industry Conference. Its subsidiary, Migu, has also been dedicated to advancing projects in this area.
Shui Long Yin is their first priority this summer 2025.

The United States and China are world pioneers in the development of TV drama integration VR Metaverse. Notably, Shui Long Yin is the sixth TV drama map worldwide to be merged into the Metaverse.
How can we enjoy these technologies?
-- First we need 5G -- According to a report by the Global Mobile Suppliers Association (GSA), by June 2022:
》There are 70 countries around the world had active 5G networks, you can fully experience all the technology featured in Shui Long Yin.
Example: South Korea, China, and the United States have been at the forefront. Follow after are Japan, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Viet Nam...
》No worries—even in countries without 5G, you can still watch the drama and enjoy AIGC and 3D technology through the streaming platforms Migu Video and Mango.
•Mango available on IOS and Android, Harmony OS
•Migu (Mobile HD) soon availabe on IOS and Android, Harmony OS
-- Second, we need VR devices --
In country where VR is already commonplace, such as the United States, owning a VR device is considered entirely normal. Users can select devices that best suit their preferred forms of home entertainment.
European countries have also become fairly familiar with VR technology.
However, it is still relatively new to many parts of Asia. When choosing a VR device, it’s important to select one that is most compatible with your intended activities, whether that’s gaming, watching movies, or working.
Tumblr media
It's no surprise to us that the drama Shui Long Yin will be released in the summer 2025, but it will also be coinciding with offline tourism to Long Yin Town in Chengdu, online VR Metaverse travel, and 3D experiences on the new streaming platforms Migu and Mango. Stay tuned!

I have no one levelheaded to discuss this stupid band with so I'm directing this to you but. Oh my god the way he constantly complains about having no hits is making me crazy. I get some of the frustration w fbr I guess but I feel like he's focused so hard on that and is scrambling to blame someone for them not being in arenas as if funeral grey radio play would have propelled them into household name superstars. They're not the world's biggest band but he genuinely seems so bitter they're not 21p or fob when they're doing well considering how the music industry is. It honestly puts a weirder taste in my mouth than the favoritism idgaf about that
Tumblr media
here's what anon is referring to for context but wow still bitter as he was in 2022 when he was realizing they were going nowhere even with a label that famously fucks people over unless they're marketable enough but hey at least instead of lashing out at his own fans that provide for him he identified at least on source of his failures can't say that about every man's problems. too bad he didn't realize one of the problems was himself so that's another loss for self realization.
(can i also point out how he's clearly trying to play victim in a situation he brought attention to like yes this label is bad but are you trying to get them on your ass by saying the quiet part out loud????)
this pursuit shouldn't be surprising honestly, awsten always talks about wanting to be a pop star and is the worst with labels and fbr is one of the most draining alternative labels out there for trying to make every one of their artists a pop star and dump them if they're not marketable enough.
if you wanted to go deeper, i guess you could also root some of awsten's own obsession over business and metrics affecting the quality and reception to his works back to the people he looks up to/has boosted parx's career and him naturally adopting those habits in his own way. big example right now is finn mckenty aka the punk rock mba. parx got their start posting their music videos on his old music site, stuffyouwillhate.com which was a blog that covered alternative music and awsten has hung out with him irl on a tour stop in the past couple of years. and despite all this music stuff, finn has retired from his youtube channel because he says he actually hates music and only cares about money and essentially does a wiki read on all the bands he covers because he only cares about marketing. yeah sure okay dickbag at least you're being honest now but spewing out slop and blaming the market instead of going against your own interests is stupid lol.
don't even get me started on the maddens and their fucking outputs and crypto bro isms bleeding into everything they do. they had good songs i'll admit but that was like over ten years ago and even since they reunited, they haven't put out a new album since then to focus on stuff like buying altpress and attempting to cater to their decidedly alternative fanbase by shoehorning joel madden's podcasts (usually with mddn artists, most of which have dropped them as management at this point including parx) every fucking week and trying to make web3 stuff a thing on there for a couple years when PEOPLE ONLY FUCKING CARE ABOUT MUSIC AND NOT STUPID ATTEMPTS TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF BLOCKCHAIN DOLL MAKERS
ugh anyways you can already see some of these patterns and habits in awsten the real big difference is he genuinely does love music and making things and producing and being insane with thousands of demos but sometimes the business side gets the best of him thinking it must be transactional that because of the amount of insane work he can put into making even just one mixed and mastered song warrants success and if they don't get it, he will beg and barter his way with fans into getting enough streams for him to get one taco in houston or lash out when someone points out a flaw in that thinking because obviously he can't possibly be part of the reason waterparks isn't getting any bigger but just gaining a small portion of more insane fans who want to tear him to pieces and fuck the wounds all while he goes more insane with them because if he doesn't have the success he wants, he at least wants the consistent attention and affection he can get from fans that don't turn on him.
but yeah, sure funeral grey could've been a pop radio hit but maybe other things that led him to now could've changed too. - iz

maybe a silly question, but what does the term “izzy canyon” mean? it conjures up a mental image of “the metaphorical place where izzy hands enjoyers hang out/got kicked into” but I dunno if it’s a hashtag or a group chat or a state of mind or why it’s a canyon specifically (I guess con sounds like can?) the mastodon con makes it seem pretty organized!
not a dumb question at all!
"metaphorical place where izzy hands enjoyers hang out/got kicked into" might actually be the most succinct and on the nose description i've heard of it lmao
it is really mostly just a way to refer to izzy hands fans who tend to interact in the same corner of fandom.
the idea started sometime last year when an izzy fan got doxxed after receiving hate mail for a few months. a burner account posted the person's city and possible locations for the chain they worked at, along with a list of other users they said they would target next (seemed to just loosely be people in the same circle as them? weirdly enough my handle was on there too despite not knowing each other)
nothing further developed from that situation and the person was okay, but understandably it kicked off a wave of izzy fans blocking anyone who had a habit of harassing izzy fans, along with running blockchains on the most vocal ones who'd start dogpiles. around the same time, someone made an "izzy haters" twitter and izzy haters group chat which just intensified "okay just block all of them because that is a huge red flag for incoming networked harassment"
tldr izzy fans grew a reputation for being very heavy blockers. it became an in joke within the community that izzy fans didn't ever know what was going on when the general fandom had new memes, or more likely, new discourse because of the huge block wall between the groups.
almost as if they were at the bottom of a canyon, doing their own thing, and not paying attention to whatever was going on outside. hence the izzy canyon. i think it's also at least 30% a joke about izzy's genitals as well.
so yeah, just generally people who like the same character and hang out in the same social circles. i think because it's the part of fandom most vocally anti harassment, it also has a funny habit of absorbing in fans who don't necessarily like izzy, but had been targeted as part of a harassment campaign or in general just tired from fandom in general.
it pretty much functions like its own mini fandom within fandom? and as a group is very enthusiastic and also freakishly well organized so they end up more likely to do things like make regular fanweeks, set up a blog for doing fandom research and polls, organize a boat tour for a convention, or laying out detail instructions for test running mastodon for week to see how viable it is as a platform.

This dual benefit of earning staking rewards and maintaining liquidity makes liquid staking an appealing option for investors, particularly those involved with major cryptocurrencies like Ethereum and Solana.
The process of liquid staking involves depositing cryptocurrency into a staking contract, which then issues a liquid staking token representing the staked assets. These tokens can be utilized in decentralized exchanges, lending platforms, and yield farming protocols, providing users with the flexibility to optimize their investment strategies. This increased liquidity and flexibility allow users to respond quickly to market changes and new investment opportunities, making liquid staking a valuable tool in the crypto ecosystem.
Despite its benefits, liquid staking presents certain challenges, including the risk of validator penalties and smart contract vulnerabilities. Additionally, the regulatory environment for cryptocurrencies is continuously changing, which may impact staking practices. Nonetheless, liquid staking is poised to play a pivotal role in the future of blockchain finance, enhancing the value of crypto assets through improved accessibility and liquidity. "Explaining Bitcoin to a 12-Year-Old: ChatGPT's Simplified Insights"
Intro
Hey there, fellow finance explorers! Have you ever heard of Bitcoin and thought, "Why does it sound like something out of a sci-fi movie?" Don’t worry, you're not alone. Bitcoin is a fascinating topic that's shaking up the world of finance, and today, we're going to break it down into simple terms—just like ChatGPT did for a curious 12-year-old.
What it is
Bitcoin is a type of digital currency. Imagine money that exists only in your computer or smartphone. Unlike the dollars or euros in your wallet, you can't see or touch these bitcoins. They live entirely online and move between digital wallets, similar to how you might send an email.
Why it matters
Understanding Bitcoin is important because it changes how we think about money. It's accepted globally, and people use it to buy things, invest, and even save for the future. Bitcoin operates independently of banks, using a system called Blockchain to keep things running smoothly and securely. With cryptocurrencies on the rise, having a basic grasp of Bitcoin can give you a leg up in understanding future technologies and investments.
Examples or breakdown
Digital Money: Think of Bitcoin as a virtual version of the money you use to buy games or apps. But unlike play money, Bitcoin is real and can be spent in various stores worldwide.
Online Gift Cards: Imagine having a gift card that you can use almost anywhere. That's how Bitcoin works, but instead of a card limit, it's how much Bitcoin you own.
No Middleman Needed: Usually, banks track your money's comings and goings but with Bitcoin, a digital ledger called the Blockchain takes care of that. This ledger is checked by many computers to make sure everything is legitimate.
International Acceptance: Unlike traditional currencies tied to a country (like the U.S. Dollar to the USA), Bitcoin can be used and accepted globally, making international transactions a breeze.
Investment Fluctuations: While Bitcoin is an exciting investment, its value can swing wildly. It’s a bit like fishing: sometimes you catch something amazing, and sometimes, nothing at all!
Tips or how-to
If you're thinking about dipping your toes into the Bitcoin world:
Start Small: Begin with a small amount that you can afford to lose, as Bitcoin's value can change.
Research: Learn from multiple sources. ChatGPT is great for simplified explanations, but check out forums, educational sites, or talk to a finance expert.
Use Caution: Only invest through safe and reputable platforms. Look for ones with good reviews and security measures.
Stay Informed: Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies change rapidly. Stay updated with the latest news and trends.
Summary
In essence, Bitcoin is digital money that's rewriting the rules. Its global nature and bank-free operations offer exciting new ways to think about and use money. Like any big innovation, though, it takes time to grasp. So, educate yourself, take it slow, and be open to learning more about this digital frontier!
