the most difficult thing about growing as a person socially, as in getting out of your shell and noticing that you are, is that there will still be times when it doesn’t feel like you’ve grown at all! times when you can’t really connect with anyone around you, times when you fail to enter into an existing conversation, times when you say the wrong thing (or nothing at all when in hindsight you probably should’ve). but that’s also kind of the best thing, because that’s the thing that helps you realize that sometimes, it’s not you or your lack of skills or any shortcoming. sometimes certain environments just aren’t for you and certain people aren’t your people, and that’s okay. that’s human. it’s okay to not feel the progress you have made all the time.

I have recently been made aware that Swedish people make up weird words and claim they are Norwegian or that we use them in Norway??

Gulebøy (Yellow bend) is supposedly the Norwegian word for banana. Panglys (Bang light) is the word for fireworks and Tallefjant (???) is squirrel.

Looking into it, it seems like it started as a joke the Swedes made about how Norway creates new words for new concepts instead of using a foreign word. An example is snøbrett instead of "snowboard" - though a lot of Norwegians will still use the foreign word in daily talk.

Still, it seems like a lot of Swedes are not aware that this is a joke and genuinely believes these are Norwegian words 😭 I know this is probably lost on people who don't speak Norwegian or Swedish, but these words just sound ridiculous

It's always funny to me when in an lu fic the chain is offered bananas and don't accept them. Like, you're offering these high energy adventures free food?? Fruit they'll have never even heard of before??? A ridiculously expensive imported good at best?? AND it boosts your attack?

Which Cabin Pressure episodes do you play when you're breaking down and you need to turn off your brain and make yourself feel better?

I probably turn most frequently to (in order) Paris, St Petersburg, Limerick, Zurich, and Wokingham- though I haven't been able to listen to Wokingham recently because some of the themes about caring for aging relatives have been a smidge too close to the reasons why I need to be cheered up in the first place...

Honestly I think each episode provides something different- when I did an advent listen-through I identified St Petersburg as something I listen to when I'm feeling defeated and Limerick as something I listen to when I'm feeling lonely (about which more here) so I'm wondering- for the episode you picked, what itch does it scratch?
