Kinda rubbish Laura look aside, we got the NYX solicit! I'm glad to see where Laura ends up, and that Kamala is going to stay part of the X-Roster for the future. Hopefully we get some more good Gabby stuff out of it too.

X-Men: From the Ashes #22-25

I'm really appreciating this series shining a spotlight on mutants beyond the X-Men, showing what their lives are like outside of heroics. Sometimes it's very mundane, and unfortunately very human.

I had not remembered Barnell Bohusk AKA Beak. He's one of those mutants whose mutation is quite extreme, even more than someone like Beast, who can be drawn into the background to show the range of human mutations. But I sure as shit am not going to forget him now.

Over the course of Thanksgiving, Barnell and his wife Angel travel to see the X-Men, ostensibly to share their vegan turkey (with gravy!) but we come to realize they have a much more serious task at hand, one which Beak is bearing on his back without showing how tired he is, and how much it's hurting him.

It's hard to read. Thanksgiving brings out all kinds of emotions, and with the stuff the Bohusk family is going through those emotions are heightened. We don't know in the end if they'll succeed before time runs out, but there's at least a little hope and humanity before it's too late.

Forge led X-Force with Betsy and Rachel! This actually looks and sounds alright, and it looks like it'll have the occasional guest star, which is fun. Just have to hope a screenwriter can write comic books well I guess.
