Arai Tour Cross V

Okay, to satisfy my own curiosity/keep a log going forward:
🛵 Every Motorbike I've Ever Ridden 🏍️
1. Yamaha YBR125 - borrowed. Training school's bike for my CBT. Did another of these up for sale a year or so ago and rode it around a few times before it went.
2. Yamaha YBR125 Custom - owned in 2013. My first bike! So red, so chrome.

3. Kawasaki ER6N - borrowed. Training school's bike for my full bike licence.
4. Honda CBR500R - owned 2014–2016. My most important road bike, probably, as it got me into doing long trips. I rode some 1200 miles around Scotland on this bike; across to Belgium to watch the Grand Prix at Spa; along the Way of the Roses, C2C, Dales Cycleway and Hadrian's Cycleway routes for work; and covered a decent distance commuting on it over two years.

5. Yamaha MT-07 - demo bike. Made me both regret the CBR500R (as this was much quicker) and appreciate its Honda sturdiness + fairing.
6. Kawasaki KLX125 - borrowed from some guy I'd met twice before (it was Jim). I rented another one of these in Gran Canaria a few months later.

7. Beta Alp 200 - borrowed, crashed into a river 😌
8. Suzuki DR12SM - rental. I rode this around Tenerife and La Palma. The Leo Vince can was great most of the time but so damn loud when I was trying to creep to our hotel from the ferry at like 2am.

9. Honda Varadero 125 - borrowed rental. This was Jim's bike for Gran Canaria.
10. Yamaha KLE500 - borrowed rental. Jim's bike in La Palma.
11. Kawasaki Versys 650 - borrowed rental in Tenerife. Also once rode pillion on my sibling's banana yellow one while my CBR was out of action after being knocked over in a car park.
12. Honda CB650F - insurance loaner. I dropped it after forgetting I had a disc lock on and trying to drive away 💀
13. Aprilia Dorsaduro 750 - borrowed. Jim's bike when we rode to Belgium to watch the F1 at Spa.
14. Honda XR250 Tornado - owned 2015–2016. My first dirt bike. Took this to Iceland aaaand later shredded my knee crashing it on the way into work. For a while it had bicycle tassel bar ends. It's a cool model with adjustable-height suspension (read: two bolt holes drilled through the bracket).

15. KTM 300EXC - rental. I had this for about 3 hours in the desert outside Dubai. It was immense. I'd have another one of these if I could afford it.
16. Honda XR230 - rental. I rode this for three weeks in Sri Lanka. Cute, low, reliable.
17. Honda XR250 Baja - borrowed rental. Jim's bike for Sri Lanka. Source of the infamous spode face.
18. TVS BS6 - rental. We each had one of these in the Andaman Islands. Loved them.
19. Sym Titus 250 - rental. I rode this around South Korea and loved it to bits. Tiny little perfect motorbike.

20. Honda Grom - rental. Had this for a few days in Japan. Did not live up to the hype.
21. Yamaha Serow 250 - borrowed rental. Jim's bike while I was on the Grom. Absolutely lived up to the hype.

22. Kawasaki Ninja 250 - rental. Rode this for the rest of our Japan trip, including Mount Akagi. 😌👌

23. Yamaha R3 - borrowed rental. Jim's bike for Akagi.
24. A scrappy 125 scooter - rental for Taiwan. No idea what brand this thing was, but it cost like £2.50 a day to rent and proved invincible. At one point I took it off road and realised I had no idea how to ride a scooter off road and hit a giant rock and somehow wheelie-jumped over it and landed on the beach. Scooter was fine.
25. A nicer 250 scooter - rental. My ride for Big Island, Hawaii. So smooth. Took Jim on the back of this to the shops and he was mocked by some dim American man. Boo.
26. Honda NM4 - borrowed rental. Jim was meant to get the same scooter as me, but we arrived late and the shop had already rented his out to someone else, so he got this sick upgrade. I hated it, ahaha. The cruiser style is not for short legged losers like me.

27. Honda CBR600RR (the monobrow model) - rental for Oahu. I loved this bike.

28. Triumph Thruxton 900 - borrowed rental. Jim's bike for Oahu. Not as cool as my CBR. I rode this for approx five minutes so it barely counts, but I'm never getting on one again because it was boring.
29. BMW F650GS - rental. Horrible bike. Meant to be a good adventure bike on the road but it shook its head like crazy whenever I went over 50mph. Broke down on the side of the road in Alaska and had to be rescued by some squaddies going salmon fishing.
30. BMW G650GS - rental. My replacement bike in Alaska! Excellent. Massive upgrade. Overexcited, the first thing I did with this was wheelie massively and almost crash it.
31. Kawasaki KLR650 - borrowed rental. Jim's dependable towbike in Alaska.

32. Suzuki DR200 - owned in Canada. My beloved. I rode Telkwa Pass and Mt Molybdenite on this bike
33. Kawasaki KLX250 - borrowed. Jim's bike in Canada. So modified that no-one knew wtf we'd built. I leap-frog rode this and the DR200 down a mountain while Jim hiked the descent with a concussion. GOOD TIMES.

34. Rieju MRT125 - owned 2016–2020. Also so modified that no-one knew wtf it was underneath.

35. Honda CBR600F2 - owned 2016–2020. Purchased for £600 to do a 5am commute from Malvern to Derbyshire twice a week. Tank.

36. Scorpa T-Ride - borrowed. Jim's off-roader while I had the Rieju MRT. Annihilated my leg when I ditched it at ABR Fest. Hematoma for weeks.
37. Suzuki TW125 - borrowed. Jim's brother's bike. Fun in fields.
38. Kawasaki Z1200SX - borrowed. My sibling's current road bike. Very very nice motorcycle.
39. Ducati Panigale 899 - borrowed, rode quite a lot in Ireland because the riding position caused Jim significant discomfort. Loved, would have kept if it was mine/if I had £6,000 to make it mine.

40. Honda CB500F - rental. Ridden around the Azores. Proof you shouldn't go back to your early bikes — this has the same engine as my old CBR500R and my god it felt gutless.
41. Honda CB500X - borrowed rental. Jim's bike for the Azores.
42. Suzuki DRZ125 - owned. Our field bike. Should have kept this but it wasn't road-registered and that was limiting.

43. Honda CRF250L - rental in Crete, also briefly owned for like one weekend so my sibling could try the Welsh lanes.
(I keep seeing people recommending these bikes to women as approachable first trail bikes, but I disagree unless you're unusually tall and strong. They're tall and heavy. If you want one of fuel-injected 250s, the KLX is lighter and better sprung. Beta Alps, DR200s and Scorpa TY125s are so much better if you want real confidence-inspiring steeds.)

44. Kawasaki Versys 300 - rental in Crete. Perfectly nice, but I don't really understand the attraction of these slow versions of road-oriented adventure bikes.
45. BMW G310GS - borrowed rental. Jim's bike in Crete. Slightly nicer than the Versys, but still. Why??
46. Scorpa TY125 Classic - owned 2020–present. Perfect lazy off-roader.

47. Honda CT125 - borrowed rental in Thailand. This was going to be my bike for a circuit around Chiang Mai, but Jim ended up too big for the Yamaha we were renting alongside it and then I adored the Yamaha so we swapped permanently.
48. Yamaha PG-1 - rental. SO COOL. They should release these in the UK. I had too much fun on this bike; it's everything I'd been told the Grom would be.

49. Honda XR150L - rental. Rode this around Vietnam. It was okay. A little taller than I prefer and lacking pep, but by the end of the trip I enjoyed it a lot.

50. Honda FTR223 - borrowed rental in Cambodia. Like with the CT, this was going to be my bike, but we ended up swapping because the other bike was just too small for Jim. Honestly, both bikes were incredibly cool. I'd never driven anything with a riding position like the FTR's before - a real cruise-around-town kind of pose that I'm embarrassed to say made me feel cool by association, lmfao. The engine was great too, which was good because...
51. Honda Degree - rental. The shop had swapped the old 250 engine out of this and replaced it with the 223 out of an FTR, and the pegs had been welded onto the modified frame in a weird position, so I'm not entirely sure how my experience compares to the True Degree, but I loved it. Plenty of power for the roads in Cambodia, really well-sprung for all the off-road stuff, huge fuel tank. Shame the peg position made my stance look completely insane throughout the trip :')

Kamen Rider 45th Anniversary File: Rider Machines

Every respected superhero has some mode of transport: The Batmobile, the Invisible Jet, web-shooters, The Dolphin, The God Phoenix etc.
For Kamen Riders, the mode of transport goes by one umbrella term: Rider Machines.

Starting with the nuclear powered and rocket propelled Cyclone in the original show, Toei and Ishimori Pro always tried to add a unique flair to each vehicle.
From being able to fly and move underwater, going into space, changing into a robot or hoverboard or simply using the Rider’s powers to enhance its abilities or vice versa by turning into armor to give a Rider a new form. There is no limit to the imagination of what a Rider Machine can do with the right creative team guiding its design. Cars can be done for the series as well as air and watercaft, but tried and true tradition dictates that if a Rider must...well, Ride...its go hog or go home!
The most common models are Hondas and Suzukis, as you’d expect from a Japanese show wanting to support local businesses, but we have had the occasional oddity like a Harley for Super-1 or a Ducati for Kamen Rider Accel (though he never uses it in hero mode because he is the bike).

(Honda! Maximum Drive!)
The most popular model used in the early Showa era was the 250 two-stroke engine Suzuki, as those had a champion racing pedigree to back up the belief they could be superhero bikes.
The models used most often for the base template of Rider Machines in the Heisei era thus far are the Honda Shadow family of bikes, the Honda XR250 and the Honda CBR1000RR. While gas prices, filming rules and a stricter budget have limited the Rider Machines use, they are still a part of the franchise as much as the belts with a few minor exceptions.
Here is the list of bike models used in the show for all you motorcycle enthusiasts and KR fans who want to pull off a scary accurate cosplay!
Suzuki T20 (The original!)
Honda SLK350K1 (First Honda in the franchise)
Suzuki Hustler TS250III
Suzuki TM250
Suzuki Hustler TS250
Suzuki GT550 (first three cylinder engine bike)
Suzuki Hustler TS125 (Tackles the competition!)
Suzuki SP370 (First four cylinder bike)
Harley-Davidson FLH-80 Classic (First and only American brand bike in the franchise.)
Suzuki RM250
Suzuki DR250S
Suzuki RA125
Suzuki RH250
Suzuki Bandit 250 (Shin’s Bike!)
Suzuki GSX-R400
Suzuki DR250S (Eco-Friendly!)
Gas Gas Pampera 250
Yamaha V-Max (For Ultimate Power!)
Honda VTR1000F Firestorm (Get ON!)
Honda X4
Honda XR250
Suzuki RMX250
Honda Shadow Slasher (Moves like a Bat out of a Mirror!)
Honda CB1300 (9-1-3)
Honda Valkyrie Rune (coated in glorious Maziora!)
Honda Shadow 750cc
Honda CBR1000RR
Honda DN-01 (Drive into another world!)
Honda VT 750 C2B Shadow Black Spirit (With this Ride, Anything Goes!)
Honda XR230 (Blast off!)
Honda CRF250L
Honda NM4-01 (Don’t Fear the Reaper and Move at Mach Speed!)
Honda CBR650F (A haunting specter on any road!)
Honda GoldWing F6C (A Legend Reborn!)
In addition to the bikes, we have had for various characters, in no particular order:
A Kawasaki jetski, a witch’s broom, a modified Honda NSX with Knight Rider inspriation, a Honda Element (poor Todoroki got gipped), a flying speeder bike, a Mercedes truck, a few completely CGI rides, a Douglas A-1 Skyraider, Shinkansen trains, an iguana pirate ship, a robot mammoth (though that one was sadly short lived), a walker mech, 2 hovering go-karts, a revolving vehicle carrier, jetpacks, a Mazda RX-7, a Mercedes AMG GT, a Mazda MX-5 and a BMX bicycle in loud 80s neon colors.

So yeah, anything is possible for a Rider Machine as long as it is a device that gets the hero from point A to point B and look cool doing it.
Of course, they are not just for show and transport, some of the better ones have weapons or cool finishers, such as the famous Rider Break attack.
Or fire HUGE lasers...
Or attach itself onto a giant dragon boot and smash whatever its master is planning to kick...
And when all the heroic Kamen Riders get together, the machines can participate in what is arguably one of the most powerful attacks in the Kamen Rider arsenal: the All Rider Break.

By combining the power of every Rider’s energy into a golden aura with the speed and force of their machines, not even the Great Leader stands a chance against the forces of justice!
Now that you know a little about the trusty “steeds” of these valiant heroes and a few vile villains you cannot help but wonder..what will the Rider Machine of the future be?
Only time will tell, but rest assured, it will keep the time honored tradition of being over-the-top, unique and exciting us with a few daring thrills every now and then!
Until then, enjoy your video games on motorcycles!*
(*Warning: The staff of Tokupedia do not actually condone the use of video games while piloting a moving vehicle in real life)

We rented two motorcycles in Negombo for our three-week tour around Sri Lanka, one of which was pretty different from what we’d originally ordered. PSA: all 230cc motorbikes are interchangeable!

HONDA XR230 MD36(2005)

#rally #honda #xr230 (惠那峽) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGKncdSjoRI/?igshid=ol6s2lrc3ggs
