Lelouch out here playing 4D chess with these Nightmares. He went from board games to real life. Talk about a step-up as far as skill goes. His mind is something else. All it took was the power he got last episode to get this far.
Lelouch really just played those Nightmares like chumps. The Resistance went from having no chance to making a comeback. This also might explain why a certain friend of mine is crushing on Lelouch.
The OST for this show is pretty nice. I know they don’t usually get talked about, but I like how Code Geass uses music to set the tone. The piece that plays when Suzaku first launches is probably my favorite piece from the anime.
Speaking of Suzaku, in his Nightmare, he wrecked the Resistance. Took them down like it was nothing at all. It was very impressive to say the least. He almost got Lelouch but Kallen stepped in last minute and saved his ass.
And we end on Lelouch meeting Clovis. I already know what happens, but when first watching this, this moment actually had me on the edge of my seat. Wondering what Lelouch had planned for his older brother.

What an introduction to Cornelia we’ve gotten. Her first scene and she’s already brought Area 18 to its knees. She’s a step up from what we’ve from Britannia so far to be sure. Lelouch will be up a most considerable opponent.
And C.C. has revealed not only her name and that she was talking about her and Lelouch’s agreement. There’s an air of cheekiness to C.C. that I really like. She just shuts Lelouch down when he presses for questions. He can’t quite manipulate her like he’s down with others.
Fucking Pizza Hut is all over this anime. Oh my God. Also, a girl just fucking jumped into Suzaku’s arms. Wish that was me. And it looks like Viletta (don’t know or care if her name was officially revealed yet) is suspicious of Lelouch.
It looks like Suzaku and the girl, Euphie, are having a time roaming town. They seem to have hit it off between one another. I kind of like the look of them together. And why do I suddenly have a very bad feeling about this? She wants to go to Shinjuku. Dear Lord...
C.C. is so freaking playful. She knows she can get away with what she’s pulling because Lelouch needs her. It almost feels like a game to her. How far can she go before she goes too far. Lelouch is at least learning how his power works. He’s good.
Jeremiah really gotten team attacked by four other Britannians due to last episode. And Suzaku has stepped in to try and stop the in-fighting. How Britannia gets anything done is beyond me.
Euphemia really just will not tolerate anyone trying to harm Suzaku in any way. He brings out a fiery side that’s been contrasted by how gentle she has been outside of that. It seems she wants to help him though.
And Cornelia has made her way into Area 11. And she’s out for blood. She wants Zero. Oh yeah, Suzaku has joined Ashford Academy. That seems rather minor compared to everything else.

It looks like Suzaku really has been framed for what Lelouch did last episode. Even though he’s telling the truth about being innocent, his status as an Eleven is his undoing. How tragic. Jeremiah is kind of a dick for this.
Lelouch is one for the dramatic. I swear. His first appearance to the Resistance is all so extra. So much flair. I’m kind of impressed by how he’s been doing so far. All this to save his friend. Who is willing to die because the truth isn’t important to Britannia. Wild.
And Jeremiah has put himself right in the middle of Lelouch’s plan. The fact he’s using Jeremiah’s lack of info on what was in the container from episode 1 to his advantage. He thought this through. Even fooled them into thinking they had Clovis’s convoy.
And that plan was wild as hell. The fact they were able to pull it off and save Suzaku like that while also making Jeremiah look like a complete fool. And that cameraman. He was loving every bit of it. A whole ass mood.
Suzaku seems to have a higher opinion on Britannia than Lelouch does. He really doesn’t want to give up hope they can change. I do agree with him that the ends don’t justify the means, but like... Look at what Britannia has done. Please. I beg of you. Also just giving himself up to the court for his fate. Why?
So, the girl has met Nunnally. Wonder what that’s about. Yes, I already know. Again, the con of liveblogging a show you’ve already seen a lot of.

And Clovis is dead. I would say I’d miss him, but I’d be lying. Still, this does set up Lelouch finding out how his mother died nicely. I supposethat’s something he will investigate in the future.
And we get the first clue that Lelouch has a terribly weak stomach. I don’t think this will be the last time we’ll see him lose his lunch due to seeing dead bodies or having to kill people.
We now know that Lelouch can only use his power once on people. His interrogation on Kallen ended up backfiring and now she’s suspicious of him. Side note, I like that this came up naturally in a place with low stakes rather than a critical moment.
Nunnally is way to sweet and innocent for the cruel world she is in. I can see why Lelouch wants to do all of this for her. That being said, I hope he doesn’t go too far in his pursuit of creating a better world for her. She wouldn’t like it if he did.
I forgot how chaotic Kallen’s induction to the student counsel was. Poor girl gets champagne spilled over her and has to clean herself up afterwards. And this leads to her almost catching Lelouch. Of course, he had a plan around this and set up an automated message and used his maid to clear suspicion of him. Big brain plays.
“I was wrong.” No, Kallen, you were dead-on. You were just tricked into thinking you were wrong.
Suzaku got framed for what Lelouch did. What a twist. I’m sure Lelouch didn’t plan for that when he killed Clovis. I guess is next plan would be to save his friend because if he doesn’t, Suzaku’s done for. lol

I like the backstory that we get for this. It’s informative, but it doesn’t feel overwhelming. Enough to know what’s going on, but we can learn more intricate details later. Japan really fell to its knees after Britannia took over.
“I’ve seen her before.” I forgot Lelouch said this and it makes the reveal for the person he said this to all the more interesting. This episode overall has a lot of foreshadowing, but this was the line that stuck out the most.
I’m not gonna lie. If I watched this show as a teen, I would have had the biggest thing for Suzaku in the world. You wouldn’t have been able to stop me. For just the first episode, I would have been hooked.
They really are just going to kill everyone in Shinjuku. Damn, this is some mass murder shit. How cruel to do to a bunch of innocent civilians.
And a contract has been made! This mysterious girl and Lelouch have made some kind of deal and it has given him a power. I suppose he can make people do what he wishes. What a first test run of said power.
