I almost wanna say that Hua Cheng’s title is a misnomer in the same way Wei Wuxian’s is in the title of mdzs. The people who do not know and absolutely do not like him consider him as the “blood rain” that’s reaching for the flower, but Hua Cheng in the event that earns him that name isn’t the rain, he’s the umbrella. He’s always been the umbrella shielding the flower, just as the blood rain has always been the corruption of the heavens and earth trying to stain the flower with their filth. (And just in case this needs to be said, obviously Xie Lian is the flower 🤗)
