As a Monty Python fan there was no way i was going to miss this exhibition of photos and other memorabilia from the archive of Terry Jones. The Life of Terry event at Oriel Colwyn is part of the A Python on the Prom campaign to raise funds for a statue of the comic genius on the prom in his hometown of Colwyn Bay.

It was interesting to see some behind the scenes snaps from The Meaning of Life as well as some fan letters, along with the Mr Jones' humorous replies.

Oriel Colwyn opened in 2012 and works with local and international photographers. It is situated above the historic Theatr Colwyn.

(fan game) life is strange: lost and found!!!!!

hey guys!

so i've been planning a sort of visual novel game recently which will build on a python game that i made that allows you to go to blackwell and meet a bunch of characters :) it would include a lot of choices and consequences -- a bit like Love is Strange! i love that game but i wanted to avoid something too similar, so here's the general idea for mine:

play as a student in blackwell at the start of the new school year -- everyone else is new, so you can make friends and meet a bunch of people!

the core characters you could meet would be max, chloe, rachel, kate, warren and victoria, though if i finish, i might add more people! :) [such as steph and dana]

the first week is composed of a few different subjects which you get to try out, and work with a partner (of your choice!!!) to complete your lesson tasks

there's a prom coming up in a couple of days! you get to ask a character if they'd like to go with you :)

since it's just me working on it as a fun project, it's a little less ambitious than Love is Strange, haha :D but i hope it'll be fun to play when complete! also your choices totally impact your outcome ^^ the next couple of months are unfortunately horrendously busy but i hope i can find time to work on it, and i'll post updates!

lo and behold, the game so far. it looks like a mess because it is! i'm just using images from google (the text box is from animal crossing) for now to figure out the story haha :D

Terry J’s statue is going to be made, they raised the money!

I just saw a post by the python on the prom Instagram that they have finally raised the money to make the statue… yay!

Apparently it’s going to be finished in Spring 2026. Long long way away but this is so exciting hopefully I can go see it when it is finished.

Bradley and Jake are childhood friends and they're going to the same highschool. Bradley is having a migraine thinking about how he would ask Jake to prom. While him and his friends were watching Monty Python. Mickey had an idea.

Bradley, Bob, Mickey, and Reuben executes the plan while Natasha waits in the car. Jake along with dads stands at the door to watch Bradley makes a fool of himself. As Bradly asks for Jake to be his date, Ice shuts the door on their hopeful grins.

"Get off my lawn Bradshaw!" Ice yells, as the door shuts behind them.

The next night, Goose tags along to help his son.

Catching Up at the Reunion

I don’t know why I even came here.

The gym was packed. It isn’t exactly how I remembered it 10 years ago, but then again, there were decorations, and drinks, and adults here now, instead of the teenagers that graduated with me. I saw Miss Homecoming Julia, and she hadn’t lost her beauty. Mark, the football quarterback was pudgier now, but it just made him even more rugged looking. And there was Connor, my deep dark crush, whose dark hair and swimmer body had only become even more perfect since graduation ten years ago.

I took another slug of my drink as I felt my face growing red. I felt like I was the only one that hadn’t grown up eat all since high school, my wiry frame was still scrawny, and my face still lopsided. So I did what I did in high school nd jut stood and watched.

“Jake?”

‘Hi, oh, Melissa, right?” I said, mostly just seeking out the name on her chest.

“Yeah. Smooth reading.” She had caught me. “So, Jake, do you actually remember me, your only friend, or is the name tag the only thing helping you out?”

“Melissa, yeah I remember you.” Who could forget her, the spooky Wiccan girl who had been my only friend during high school.

“Yeah? How much do you remember?”

All of a sudden I wasn’t sure. I had id it with such immediate confidence. But as I racked my brains, I couldn’t think of a single memory. 

“Why about Chem lab?” 

What about chem lab, I thought? Nd then remembered sitting next to her, seeking glances and laughing when the teacher said something silly. How could I have forgotten that?

“Sorry, Mel. Yeah, Dr. Avery’s lab. What a time! You used to make those little doodles that you did in the corner of my pages that you always said would bring me luck. Guess that never turned out my way?” I said the last bit gesturing to my lanky body. A wistful glance across the room to Connor might have been too obvious.

“What? The muscle stud never got lucky? You must be kidding?”

“Muscle stud? I mean. Sure, I was strong, and good looking in the right light, but stud?”

“Oh, come on, you told me how you were trying to make yourself the strongest boy in the school. And clearly you never gave up on the bodybuilding.” She said poking me in by pecs. While her fingers prodded solid flesh, I paused. My clothes were tight. I definitely needed a new wardrobe, as clearly my latest clothes were already reaching their limit. I flexed a bit, and tore the sleeves.

“There they are. I was worried those guns of yours had gotten smaller. I used to admire them sitting next to you. Not as much as Julia obviously. I mean, you got her pregnant with what, triples on prom night?”

“Don’t remind me. But god look at her now” I admired the voluptuous form of Julia across the room. She had definitely filled out since high-school, my triple sons had stretched her out for sure. But she was prime MILF material now, and she clearly had several more on the way.

“What number are you on with her now? 23?”

I really wanted to study Korean again this week, but I know that my brain tries to find anything to procrastinate learning Finnish right now, so I studied Finnish instead of Korean... (I am so excited for my January break because then I can learn more Korean and brush up on my English)

started journaling a few sentences every day in Finnish - works surprisingly well

today is the first time in weeks that I am using the Korean keyboard on my laptop while writing this post and I surprisingly remember the letter placements almost intuitively (kinda shocked tbh)

Health

showing up for yoga and workouts even though the motivation is not there...

the constant darkness is making me so sleepy but contrary to that I slept way too little this week, I gotta prioritize sleep this coming week

did the Afrotrendy Dance Workout again and I managed to do a bit more than last week (it was still sooo exhausting, but also so much fun!)

“In re-reading Dracula, we were surprised and intrigued by the boldness with which Stoker, a closeted gay man in Victorian England, plays with sexuality and gender norms,” says director/co-writer Gordon Greenberg. Co-writer Steve Rosen adds “we wanted to celebrate him and, at the same time, send up his moody, broody melodrama in the spirit of some of our comedic heroes like Charles Ludlam, Monty Python and Mel Brooks.” In regards to the New World Stages production, Greenberg continues, “We are so fortunate to have assembled an extraordinary company of top-notch comedic actors whose fearlessness and hilarity make the whole experience feel like a party. We hope our Dracula gives audiences of all ages the chance to forget about their troubles and just laugh their heads off for a while.”

Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors was commissioned and originally produced by Maltz Jupiter Theatre (Andrew Kato, Producing Artistic Director/Chief Executive) in 2019. In 2020, it was adapted as a radio play for The Broadway Podcast Network with an all-star cast including Annaleigh Ashford, Laura Benanti, Alex Brightman, James Monroe Iglehart, Richard Kind, Rob McClure, Ashley Park, Christopher Sieber, and John Stamos. Productions followed at Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany and Segal Centre for Performing Arts in Montreal. When Atlas dies in the battle against Python, for a moment, no one notices.

Until Prom falls at the exact same moment.

Theyre the same person. Of course their lives were connected. Of course Than would have to lose two of his brothers at once.

They're laid side by side for the family to say goodbye, and for a moment, all the blood makes it seem as if they were twins with the same face, as if Atlas died twice. The only difference between them being the young man with teal hair clinging to one of the bodies like maybe by loving hard enough, he could bring him back.
