What are your favorite things to watch on Twitch?

I mostly find people I like and stick with them! I check out the pokemon and art tags if I’m looking for someone to hang with in the background.

My streamers are

JickNonsense: pokemon and shiny hunting streamer, absolute sweetheart, one of my best friends now because we’ve been hanging out p much daily for like three and a half years (and yes he’d call me a friend too, I’m not being that flavor of weird)

A_Couple_Streams: music streamers, their band name is Aeseaes (pronounced like the letters A-C-S) and I adore their music, I used some of their songs for my Year of Lyrics project, overall one of my favorite bands, they also have a cat cam where one of their cats is featured during stream which is primo

ArtbyTrishaHall: art streamer, super bubbly and fun but also gets serious sometimes, she mostly does watercolor on stream and is currently doing Stream Ink prompts on stream, I have two of her prints hanging in my house and she’s one of the main forces in me trying any sort of realism with watercolor, I knit a hat for her for her birthday and made a matching one for her bearded dragon Matisse

@ayeforscotland : variety game streamer, funny guy but also a super thoughtful and well-spoken political person, does a lot of really great charity streams which is how I found him in the first place, generally just a great ally to people who need one, and has really great hair

@skye-blacke : variety gamer, film student, general neato goth, I watched them play through the whole Life is Strange catalogue and it was a hoot, they always have some fun facts and interesting perspectives that make me think

Also I’m realizing a trend now that I’m typing this out. All of my streamers except for Skye have at least one cat 🤣 so that’s a nice bonus

A year of song lyrics, week 5: Tongues by Aeseaes

First off Aeseaes is amazing and one of my favorite bands so you should check them out on Spotify, YouTube, or their twitch channel A_Couple_Streams (the band name is pronounced A-C-S it’s just spelled phonetically)

If you talk to me regularly you heard me complain at length about trying to find coarse grain salt all last week to do the watercolor effect on this piece and I think it was worth the trouble because this turned out exactly how I wanted. I used three different salts and a wax crayon to create the “boiling” effect in the paint and the spatter effect in the lettering.

I added lines of red around the upper letters that get increasingly frantic to try and get that crescendo of inner turmoil across before the bubbling emotion just completely takes over.

A lot of times it’s easier to keep quiet to keep the peace and let your thoughts and emotions eat you up from the inside because that way it only affects you. You’re more used to your own antagonism than what could happen if you spoke. I had a pretty poignant example of that happen to me week before last where I tried to speak up and it blew up in my face. I had to just stomach all my thoughts and emotions and move on to keep from exacerbating the situation.
