i have my first day of work at my seasonal job tomorrow and i'm SO nervous. we've been given minimal and incredibly vague instructions and are expected to just. know how to do everything all alone immediately. like i genuinely don't understand why you wouldn't let a newbie do their first shift with a more experienced colleague instead of just putting them in a sales stall on their own with no one nearby to answer questions or assist if needed. this seems like a recipe for disaster.
