You laid wide awake in the cramped tent, glaring at the ceiling like it had personally offended you. Beside you, Jiyong snored loud enough to scare off any wildlife within a five-mile radius. You turned your head, watching him sleep with growing irritation. His limbs were splayed out across the ground, mouth open, a thin trail of drool creeping down his cheek onto the shared pillow. You let out a quiet scoff. This entire trip had been his idea. “We never get sibling time anymore,” he said. “It’ll be fun,” he promised. And yet here you were—freezing your ass off, stuck in a tent with your overprotective older brother who insisted on bunking together because “I need to protect my baby sister.” You were only a year and a half younger than him. You could survive a weekend in the woods without supervision, thank you very much.

Still… you had to admit, it wasn’t all terrible. Seunghyun was here. And that made everything a little more bearable.

You waited until Jiyong let out a particularly loud snore before slowly inching your way toward the entrance. Every crinkle of the sleeping bag made you wince, but he didn’t stir. Just flopped onto his back, oblivious as ever. He’d always been a heavy sleeper.

Rolling your eyes, you carefully unzipped the tent and slipped outside into the cool embrace of the night.

The air was crisp and you instinctively hugged your hoodie tighter around your body. Most of the camp had gone quiet—just the occasional crackle from a dying fire and the distant hum of crickets. A few stragglers were still awake, laughing softly around a dim lantern, but no one paid you any mind as you stepped into the shadows of the trees.

That’s when you saw it—a tiny orange ember glowing in the distance by the creek. A cigarette. Seunghyun.

You made your way toward it, careful to avoid snapping twigs beneath your feet. As you drew closer, you found him perched on a smooth boulder, cigarette nestled between his fingers, his other hand resting on his knee. He exhaled slowly, the smoke curling around him like mist.

“Hi, Oppa,” you whispered.

Seunghyun flinched slightly, surprised, but when he turned and saw it was you, his features softened. The corners of his lips pulled into a quiet smile, and the moonlight painted his face in silver.

“Can’t sleep?” you asked as you lowered yourself beside him, your shoulder brushing his.

He shook his head, flicking ash off the edge of the rock. “Too quiet,” he muttered. 

“Sounds nice. I can’t sleep with Jiyong’s snoring.” You scoffed, taking the cigarette from him and taking a long drag.

“Yeah, I don’t miss living with him.” Seunghyun chuckled.

You smiled to yourself, eyes drifting to the water as it shimmered under the moon. The silence that settled between you was comfortable, like this moment had been waiting for you all day. Just you, him, and the quiet pull of something unspoken.

You stubbed the cigarette out on the edge of the rock, the embers dying with a soft hiss. Without a word, you shifted, sliding into Seunghyun’s lap, your knees framing his thighs. Your arms looped around his neck, fingers tangling in his hair. You leaned in, capturing his mouth in a deep, desperate kiss.

He groaned low against your lips, his hands instantly roaming—rough palms finding the swell of your ass beneath your shorts. He squeezed, pulling you closer like he couldn’t get enough. But just when you started to lose yourself in the kiss, he broke it—his breath brushing against your cheek.

“We can’t keep doing this…” he murmured, voice barely above the rustling of the trees.

“Why not?” you whispered, lips ghosting over his jaw. Your hand slid between you, fingers brushing against the hard length straining beneath his pajama pants. “You like it. I like it. So what’s the problem?”

You kissed a slow trail up his throat, your breath warm against his skin. “That just makes it even hotter,” you teased, voice soft and wicked.

He growled at your words, the last of his restraint snapping. His hands gripped your hips firmly, lifting you just enough to tug your shorts and panties aside. You helped him, impatiently fumbling to free him from his pants. The second he lined himself up at your entrance, you sank down onto him with a slow, breathy moan.

Jiyong burst through the brush a moment later, hair sticking up in wild directions, eyes squinting from the sudden light of the moon. “What are you doing out here?” he asked suspiciously.

You blew out a slow drag from your cigarette, shrugging. “Can’t sleep when you sound like a fucking jet engine.”

Jiyong grumbled, settling beside you on the rock with a huff. “Should’ve just woken me up. I wouldn’t’ve minded company.”

Seunghyun forced a tight-lipped smile, offering the pack and a lighter. Jiyong took one without a second thought.

The three of you sat there in a tense silence, the smoke from your cigarettes curling up into the stars. You could still feel Seunghyun’s touch lingering on your skin. Your thighs ached from how quickly it had ended.

Jiyong, luckily, was as clueless as ever—especially when he was half-asleep. But Seunghyun’s hand brushing yours beneath the rock was enough to remind you just how close you’d come to being caught.

As you let yourself be engulfed in his big arms, you inhale his perfume. Never have you ever been this close to him, but you quickly get used to the scent of this manly man.

A hug so warm, his hands hanging loosely over the small of your back. A little bit lower, and those would meet your ass.

You keep your nose buried on the very centre of his chest, and your hands shyly around his waist. Even if you wish to hug his whole frame, you wouldn’t be able to.

so when he sat in the back row of your shared public speaking class and saw your jaw clench for the first time ever, he straightened in his seat. and when kenji, the leech of your group, strode to the front with his iced coffee, five minutes late, zero shame on his face, hyoma got a weird feeling in his chest.

still, you presented like usual, your voice was calm and controlled. your portion was flawless, like always. the rest of your team spoke, stumbling through the slides you'd clearly prepared on their behalf. and then kenji stepped up, hands in his hoodie pockets.

"so yeah, i gues, like... we wanted to show how group collaboration can be stressful but rewarding y'know?" he said, not looking at the class, let alone the slides. "we really pulled it off last minute. like, i even stayed up till, what- 2 a.m.? yeah-"

you didn't move, but hyoma caught it, the way your shoulders tightened and your grip on the remote whitened your knuckles.

kenji grinned. "shoutout to y/n, she's kind of intense with this stuff, but like, i guess it paid off, huh?"

and that was it. you turned slowly, smile gone. "pardon?"

the whole class went quiet, kenji blinked. "uh... what?"

"you didn't show up to a single meeting," you said, voice sharp and cold. "you ghosted our group chat for three weeks. you didn't open the document. you didn't send a single email."

kenji let out a little laugh. "chill. i'm here now."

"oh! you're here now?" you echoed, voice rising. "congrats on gracing us with your presence. what do you want, a medal? you skipped the slides five seconds ago and gave a ted talk about 'grinding' while the rest of us did everything."

someone in the back gasped. kenji looked around like you were joking. you weren't. "you didn't contribute, didn't even try. and now you're standing here trying to pretend you had something to do with this project? nope. not happening."

chigiri sat frozen, eyes wide. he'd seen you frustrated before, tiny sighs and quiet frowns, but this? not once since you got together. and oddly enough? his heart was pounding. not in fear, but in awe. you looked glorious.

"sit down, kenji," you finished, calm again but chillingly final. "you're not answering the q&a." kenji opened his mouth, you didn't even look at him.

he sat.

when the teacher finally spoke, something about "strong delivery" and "passionate engagement", the class gave polite applause. you kept your chin high as you walked off stage and sat beside chigiri. you stared straight ahead, but then..

"oh my God," you whispered, burying your face in your hands. "hyoma, i snapped. i yelled. i yelled in class. i'm gonna cry-"

chigiri blinked. "you're crying because you yelled?"

"i don't yell!" you groaned. "that's like, my whole thing! i never yelled!"

he chuckled softly and reached for your hand, interlacing your fingers under the desk. "honestly?"

you peeked at him through your fingers.

"that was kinda hot." your jaw dropped. "what?"

"i mean, you looked really annoyed. like you were the final boss or something."

you stared. "that is not what i was going for."

chigiri shrugged, leaning in to press a kiss to your temple. "well, maybe next time he'll think twice. you were amazing."

you groaned again, dropping your head to the desk. "this is so humiliating."

"i'm dating someone who could destroy someone's ego with a five-sentence monologue. that's not humiliating, that's a flex."

The diner is crowded as you try your hardest to keep up with your section. There’s a lot on your mind already so having to remember what order goes where as everything that happened the night before replays in your brain is getting a little tricky. You’re still not sure what to make of it and not having the time to sort out your thoughts is not helping.

You set a plate in front of one of the customers as the bell dings above the door, signaling that another customer has entered. You make the mistake of looking up to see who it is and a gasp falls from your lips as your eyes lock on the dark brown eyes you know so well.

You immediately turn away and hurry towards the kitchen to fetch the other orders that are waiting in the window. Eddie is hot on your heels and you can hear his shoes hitting the tile loudly as he tries to catch up with you.

You don’t want to talk to him, though. You don’t even want to see him right now, especially since you’ve got your hands full, literally. You turn and there he is, standing right where you need to get to, completely blocking your path.

“Eddie,” you say with a warning tone, but he just crosses his arms over my chest. “You’ve already shown up to my job and now you won’t let me work?”

“You didn’t answer my calls.” He’s offended and you feel like he has every right to be considering the circumstances. You screwed everything up and now you’re paying for it.

“I’ve been busy.” That’s not technically a lie but you’ve had plenty of time to answer him when the phone has rung. You just don’t want to talk about that night, especially not when you’re on the clock and you think he’s gone too far now by showing up at your place of work.

“Yeah, busy ignoring me.”

“I’m not ignoring you, Eddie. Now will you please just get out of my way?” You’re getting even more angry now, feeling your blood practically boiling as he stands there, preventing you from doing your job and being an ass while he does it.

“Oh, okay,” he steps to the side and lets you through only to follow closely behind you again as you’re handing out more plates to your customers. “Then let’s just ignore what you said to me the other night.”

“Yes, let’s.” That’s what you’ve been trying to do since it happened and he just won’t let it go.

“You told me that you loved me.” That’s it. That’s your breaking point. You serve the last plate then point towards the door, anger building up inside you like you’re a pot that’s boiling over.

“Outside.” Eddie sighs and heads towards the door and you follow, marching behind him, not even giving a second glance to the annoyed customers on your way out.

As soon as you’re out of the diner, you cross your arms over your chest as a way to warm yourself up because of the gust of wind that’s crossing the parking lot. Eddie seems toasty in his nice jacket that you want nothing more than to wrap yourself up in.

He’s lighting up a cigarette so you know he’s angry, trying his hardest to light up, but the flame keeps going out from the wind. He needs something to take the edge off because no contact from you has been driving him absolutely crazy.

He can’t believe that you just left after telling him that you loved him. You just panicked and ran, not even giving him a chance to respond. Don’t you see how unfair that it is? It’s hurting him, almost as if you reached into his chest and pulled out his heart.

He’s wondering if you even meant it since you’ve been going out of your way to ignore him. If it was just something said because of how you were feeling and not even because you meant it. Because those three words hold so much meaning and he doesn’t even want to accept them if you only said them on a whim because of how good he made you feel.

“You wanted to talk so talk,” you demand, rubbing your hands up and down your arms.

“I’ve done all my talking so it’s all on you.” Fuck. You don’t even smoke but that cigarette sounds so inviting. Anything to keep your mouth occupied so you don’t have to actually say anything to him. You don’t want to tell him the truth, for your arrangement to change permanently and you just can’t bear the thought of losing him.

“Did you even mean it?” His voice is small now and all you want is to wrap him up in your arms and tell him the truth.

“Did I mean it when I said I loved you when I orgasmed?” You did, you really did and you don’t know why you can’t just get yourself to say it. If he didn’t love you back then why else would he be so upset that you’ve been ignoring him?

“Did you?” Oh, he’s infuriated now, just wanting you to spit your answer out right now before he loses his goddamn mind.

“Of course I did!” You yell back and his big eyes widen at your outburst but it’s quickly replaced with a wide grin that he can’t seem to wipe off of his face. “I’ve loved you for a while now but was afraid to tell you. And now I don’t know where we stand. Everything’s gonna change-“

Your rant is cut off by Eddie pulling you into his arms and pressing his lips to yours. You gasp into his mouth but eventually melt into him, wrapping your arms around his neck as his rest on your waist.

You’ve kissed before but it’s never been like this. It’s filled with something that’s so much more than the need to get each other into bed. It’s filled with love and you’re smiling into it as he pulls away reluctantly.

“I love you too. Now get back in there before you get fired. I’ll see you at home okay?” You pull away from him and turn on your heel, feeling his eyes on you as you walk away, trying your hardest to not giggle as you head inside, your thoughts filling with Eddie for a completely different reason.

And oh friend, that sounds rough and I hope you're doing well making it through yours this week! 💕 I definitely have some thoughts on how Frank would take care of his significant other when they are on their period--especially if it was a particularly rough one (or if they were always rough and painful). Frank is just a big softy under his hard exterior, and I feel like his caregiving side (that isn't seen often but definitely exists) would certainly come out seeing his partner struggling and in pain. He would make it his personal mission to make them as comfortable as he could. But I'll throw all my thoughts below the cut for this one!

Frank would know exactly when you were on your period just by looking at the pain etched across your face because of the cramps. You wouldn't even have to ask, he'd already be up grabbing you your preferred painkillers and bringing them straight to you without a word.

He'd get you a nice warm shower started first thing and demand you take it to help with the pain while he fixed you breakfast/coffee/tea. And he would absolutely refuse to hear you tell him not to worry about you. "That's what I do," he'd say. "I worry 'bout you 'cause I care. I'm always gonna worry 'bout you. Now don't argue with me and get in the shower."

On the worst days of your period he'd be telling you that you should be taking it easy for the day. And if you had to go into work? You can bet he'd be grumbling to himself about how "that’s a buncha bullshit" and you deserve a sick day because you're clearly not feeling alright.

At the beginning of your period, he'd make a special stop after work at the store to pick up all your favorite comfort snacks to help cheer you up for the week. Because he knows the smile he'd get from you when he walked through the door with your favorites in hand and he could never pass up an opportunity to see it. And if you were low on painkillers, pads, or tampons? You can bet he'd have no issue picking those up, too.

Before bed at night, he'd sit down with you on the couch and let you choose to watch whatever you wanted, even if it was some ridiculous romantic comedy you've seen a hundred times or a reality show he absolutely hated. Sure, you might get his occasional commentary on it ("Who honestly thought up the idea for this?" "That ain't how that works in real life"), but you wouldn't hear a single complaint to turn it off. Though he'd certainly give you a very specific look if you joked about telling your friends that he'd been watching it with you.

Frank would absolutely be cuddling you while you relaxed, too. Maybe your legs would be draped over his, or maybe you'd be laying atop him on the couch. However you felt most comfortable, he wouldn't complain. And you could always guarantee that his fingers would absently trace patterns over you as you lay there, offering comfort he wasn't even aware he was giving.

At some point while you both relaxed you'd hear him say, "C'mere, let me help, sweetheart." And you'd know you were about to get the most relaxing back massage that would just about put you to sleep from his large hands that somehow always knew the right level of pressure to use.

When it was time for bed, Frank wouldn't mind being your personal heating pad. You want to lay curled around him? Use him as the big spoon to your little spoon? He'd happily comply because he remembered how you'd once told him that his body heat helped to dull some of your cramps so you could fall asleep.
