The 'Leader in Me' Phenomenon: Leadership Elixir or Educational Mirage?
Introduction The “Leader in Me” program, inspired by Stephen Covey’s renowned book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” has been widely adopted by many American schools with the aim of nurturing leadership qualities and character development in students. However, its rapid adoption has sparked a spectrum of critiques, challenging its efficacy and potential implications on student growth.…

My favorite part of fafsa is where it doesn’t even ask you if your family is going to contribute, it just assumes they will, and then spits out a total bullshit number based on that 🙄
#sis somehow convinced me to try to do college again#and each and every time I have to log into the school websites I truly wonder if I made the right choice because Oh my god#not only are the instructions given lackluster#the website(s) themselves are a fucking nightmare to navigate#part of the issue is that things ARE NOT LABELED as they’ll tell you they are in the instructions#so they’ll tell you to go to. like. my academic history or something#but that’s NOT what the tab is called#nor is it found where they said it would be. also that part is mislabeled too#so seeing the financial aid part be so absolutely bullshit after finally FINDING IT is uh. infuriating:)#also it’s saying I’m missing a portion of some kind of verification I’m real#EXCEPT that every way to verify it IVE ALREADY DONE#that shouldn’t even be an issue?!?!?#*screams*

man red and shade make me Insane because first of all. the age stuff. red is the version of diluc right after the whole shit w his 18th birthday while shade is current-day kaeya, so it'd be reasonable to assume that shade is most likely "older" than red bc of timeline stuff, BUT ALSO. like you cannot tell me that they don't completely ignore that and still go by the older-younger dynamic that both of them remember. you simply cannot. add on how apparently diluc was a Bastard Of A Kid, and boom. full dynamic right there.
so anyways what i'm saying is that if you leave them alone together red will absolutely rope shade into whatever scheme he has. like i imagine that they still have to be led into reconciliation with each other at first, but your god personally asking you to talk out your problems and try to reform your relationship with your (technically kind of) estranged brother is a really good motivator it turns out! it makes it easier to leave them alone together, but give it a week and shade is also glaring at diluc whenever he's nearby and oh no red what did you tell him.
i keep on picturing you coming home after a long day of meetings and walking in on red and shade coming up with an elaborate murder scheme (shade is the one making it elaborate. red would rather just go in and Fuck Shit Up) - teddy anon
you understand my vision
putting shade and red together in a room is. one of the ideas you’ve had.
they’re very different from their base selves, but red still holds a strange animosity. he’s diluc with all the anger and none of the time for it to cool, and shade has a permanent guilt lingering in his chest he never can place. he just feels… off around red, and doesn’t really know why.
it takes quite a bit of work to get red to adjust to shade, but the process only burns shade more. it’s complicated, to put it simply, and takes time.
but that time passes. with enough quiet interactions without you there, with enough trust that the other truly has your best interest in mind.. they can connect. red shares the fire that drives him, shade chipping at the ice digging into his heart. they talk around the ashes of your campfire, slowly coming to a conclusion.
once shade and red fully reconcile, it’s… dangerous. shade’s constant need for your attention mixed with red’s need for your safety and immense distrust of anyone but nikki or the other reflections makes for a startlingly effective team. you’re happy they’ve made up, really, but shade seems to be pulling you away from your obligations more often, and red sticks closer to your side than ever. on one hand it’s nice to see them get along, and you do appreciate the affection, but on the other, it’s more than a little concerning. you just hope that nothing bad comes of it..
(you’re a bit too late for that)
#m1d : [chats]#teddy anon#teddy anon back with the takes ripped straight from my own psyche#the shining nikki saga#should i even tag nikki anymore lmao#sailwind shadow#the dark side of dawn#writing this like ‘i will sprinkle in my headcanons liberally and freely’#autism be damned my boy can work a grill (<- i cringefailed an assignment)#(the ONE time i think i’m being smart no. i just can’t read. a tragedy)#(you can’t handle the uber instincts of my uber autism. observe: [entirely misinterprets instructions and fails the assignment] /ref)#(today is. not a good day academically. my brain refused to work in my english class augh)#(i am unmedicated and unsupported and good lord is it a problem)

getting distracted from writing seen and not heard's 2nd sequel (ignore the fact that i haven't finished the 1st one yet) by considering headcanons for which of the PTs is the best at building flatpack furniture
#talking#p5 posting#i feel like people would assume makoto and i feel strongly that this is incorrect#do you know what the inherent chaos of bad flatpack instructions does to the academic mind. heinous

the only thing getting me through is the thought that i don't have physics lab next week
#i actually enjoy the work honestly#but the time constraint for getting things done is so anxiety inducing#it always makes me feel so inferior to everyone else#it's just always new stuff to me#and i take longer than everyone else to work through stuff#and it's hard for me to get stuff done#especially when it's new material#and because we're always given such broad and confusing directions#it makes me feel so stupid but i just wish that instructors could give more in depth and specific instructions#because otherwise it'll take me like five times as long as everyone else to figure out what we're actually supposed to be doing#and even then i'll be extra worried that i haven't got the right idea#even when i'm listening to or reading instructions i have to go over it several times before i understand#i need time for the words to become more than just symbols and sounds#and then i need time to connect their meaning to the context of what i'm doing#it's incredibly frustrating and demoralizing#and i know i'm smart and capable#i always end up doing well#i'm at an 'academically challenging institution' and i know i got in here on my own merit#hell i graduated as a valedictorian with the highest test scores in my high school#but still somehow every time i sit in a space next to other people#i feel infinitely small and worthless

You see the bad part about living in a world where good writing is dismissed is that even technical documents are shit
#like. people think confusing writing is somehow synonym of good writing#in the sense that for a text to be technically and academically good it must be confusing#so its filled with connectives that don't make sense and weird phrase construction#and don't even get me started at how english being the default language makes the local texts all weird#false-friends. weird order. incomplete words. wrong conjugation.#and doesn't matter if i try to fix it or point out#people will ignore it#i'm not even in a language field i'm in a health field#i just trying to make sure the instructions for use are easily understandable#why do i have to explain why the comma is in the wrong place even of the subject is really fucking long#'well i think it looks better this way ' well its wrong. grammatically wrong.

Something I noticed in the Dungeon Meshi anime that passed me by in the manga is how Marcille's instructions to Laios in using magic are exactly what you'd expect from someone who has been studying it academically for god knows how long.
Her preparations for teaching him were coming up with/remembering the speech about feeling the mana flowing through your body, and picking out the right spell. But she glossed over the things that wouldn't concern someone who is extremely experienced in healing magic:

How awkward it is to lay hands on someone in order to cast a healing spell

MANA SICKNESS, which apparently happens to everyone when they first cast a spell
And it's not like she completely forgot that they're a thing, but it wasn't part of what she was planning on teaching, because everyone already knows that, right? So Marcille just brushes past it, like "oh yeah duh, that's a thing, anyway-".
I love it, perfectly in-character. She's an academic!
