simon seeing price and nik and immediately seeing how perfect they are for each other; it’s right there in their scent and how perfectly they meld together- they smell like a dream. they support each other in a way he’s only seen in relationships from movies. they’re even an alpha/omega pair but they’re not held back by traditionalist prejudice. they compliment and complete each other so fully it’s a wonder they’ve let him into their nest all

simon with his traumatised scent, letting everyone who comes near him know just how damaged he is (as if looking at him wouldn’t give it away). simon the alpha who craves an omega’s orders; who longs to submit to an alpha

simon who wishes the sweet words they whisper to him were real

wishes their scenting would extend outside the nest, that they didn’t make him wash them it off afterwards. (they just want to give him aftercare, something he’s never been offered.) that the hickeys and sweet bites left oh so gently would drift that much closer to his mating gland. (he never got the proper schooling, was never taught that marks left near a mating gland were an offer as much as a question.) that they wouldn’t see him as just some pup hauled in from the rain when they press him tight between their chests

(he is their pup and they have taken him in. they just don’t know what they’re doing wrong that he won’t stay.)

imagining the first time simon was brought into their nest was the first time he’s been in any nest and it’s bc he’s so disregulated that he’s having a breakdown; maybe gaz or soap got hurt under his watch and his inner alpha can’t handle having failed them so spectacularly and nothing they say, no platitude or reassurance, can reach him

so price does what any pack leading omega would do

he scruffs simon, waits for his eyelids to droop and knees to go weak, and drags him into his nest; pushing him into the deepest well of it with the highest buildup of safe-sleep-pack-happy scent until simon’s inner alpha calms itself enough that he falls into a stress induced sleep

price watches over him the entire time, vigilant against any threat both internal and external, and it’s in his diligence that he notices how perfectly simon’s scent blends with his and nik’s; notices how happy his omega is at having the alpha in his nest

and how much he wants to keep him there

(simon wakes up disoriented; more than a little worried about nik’s reaction to another alpha in his mate’s nest and is quick to leave the second price lets him. he misses the quiet rumble of contentment nik gives when he smells their combined scent, when he hears how long simon slept and the safety he must’ve felt with price. he misses the conversation about how right it felt and the agreement that he should stay there)

not sure if you've already seen but episode 2 of s17 now has an actor listed on imdb! he's cast as "judge," which could possibly mean that the episode will be set in court? there's also a stunt double listed for kaitlin so I'm guessing she's gonna get hit with the ambulance lol. would love to hear your thoughts!

Funnily, Hugh Holub seems to have quite a few prior Judge credits, so I think it's safe to assume he is playing a court Judge of some kind. So, does that imply Mac and Dennis get caught and face actual consequences? Or is there a B-plot in EMTs which involves court? Hmm... another item to stick on the wall while we wait for more info..

(As of right now we're operating under the assumption that #1702 is Mac and Dennis Become EMTs based on production order as well as stunt credits for this episode including a stunt driver:

And another credit for Lauren Danielle Pugh as Kaitlin's stunt double this Season (she's also credited for #1704, Thought Leadership) plus Kimberly Shannon Murphy is credited for Kaitlin's stunt double for Episode 1 of S17 (it seems kinda weird they would have used a different stunt performer for her in one season, but I do not know a lot about stunt work, tbh) so it looks like they're definitely putting Dee through the ringer this season lmfaoo...

also Heath Cullens did like this comment on his post about the episode (but then again, he liked all (5) comments):

So that's always been a little theory.. and the gag of them destroying her car is a classic to me, so I am personally gunning for them ramming that ambulance right into her parked car (that, based on her having a stunt double this episode, she might be inside..). Or maybe she tries to be a part of Mac and Dennis' scheme and ends up going out the back of the ambulance mid-run.. many. many possibilities here.. how fun

What's a shadowshard you say? Why yes, you're right, I probably should have explained that earlier in the comic. Live and learn. The short answer is that they're broken pieces of shadow crystals that can be used to help phones and other technology work in the dark world.

[The comic might take a short break for the upcoming winter holidays. The next pages are pretty complicated and I've got some other work to do as well, so I'll let you know next monday if I need a break.]

Egypt Episode after Teams are formed pt 2. — Team Phoenix

They still do the same thing they do in canon when it comes to the goat. Eva and Noah would sit on the goat, Bridgette on Eva’s shoulder (there's some tension hinted there), and Izzy on Noah's.

Eva would make a joke about how she's surprised Noah could hold up Izzy, and be met with a snarky (but lighthearted) comment on response. Izzy ends up laughing along and pokes Noah on his cheek, which he merely rolls his eyes at.

This'll be the moment Alejandro realizes he can't just befriend Bridgette, and that maintaining a positive relationship with the rest of his team is a need. He'd notice the tension between Eva and Bridgette and make a mental note of it as he continues portraying this leadership facade. (He was so gonna confront Bridgette about this later).

When Alejandro is on top, Noah would make his "Wow, I'm impressed" followed by a confessional from Eva (after Alejandro's confessional) saying "Noah isn't impressed by Alejandro using basic weight distribution. He's surprised pretty boy is smart." (What could Team Escope say? He looked like a Justin 2.0). Someone charming and smart? That raises some flags for this trio.

Anyway, Alejandro would wish the other teams some luck before the group leaves. And they'd be the first to arrive.

(I forgot to add, but Bridgette would make a confessional saying she felt out of place, but knows she's not alone cause Alejandro was there with her. So, at least she wasn't a total outcast!)

The tricky part is when they get to the river and have to weave. With no Sierra, they'd struggle, but then again, Eva is a wildcard. We don't have much on her, but we know she's been working on her anger and she has been a stunt double. So it would be reasonable for her to know (at least) the basics or weaving, right? She may not know how to explain it, but she could show her teammates how to do it, in hopes they'd understand. She's not Sierra-level weaving, but it's better than the average person!

This is when Alejandro would take Bridgette aside to inquire about her relationship with Eva, and the surfer girl would explain what happened in season 1. He'd offer to talk things out with Eva, but Bridgette refuses, saying this is something she needs to do on her own. Alejandro backs off, he knows he shouldn't be pushy with his only ally. Especially so early in the game. However, he can use her empathy against her.

Alejandro apologized to Bridgette and explained how he wanted to help her because he was new and wanted his teams approval. Bridgette then agrees for him to help her, which Alejandro smiled "sincerely" at before Noah called them over. Alejandro immediately makes his way to Eva while Bridgette hangs by Noah.

There'd be a mini scene between Eva and Alejandro, where he's learning how to weave and would try and bring up Bridgette, only for Eva to glance at him. Effectively shutting him up. (Eva's confessional: Am I doing something wrong?) Then it goes to Noah and Bridgette, who are watching the two; the former with an amused gaze, while Bridgette looks defeated. Noah takes note and asks her about it, Bridgette confesses but stops midway remembering Eva is Noah's friend. Noah reassures her before saying Eva’s been trying to make herself seem more approachable cause she wanted Bridgette to make a move. So it didn't feel forced.

And then cut to another team! (They're on a budget, not everything can be explained on screen!!)

A clever publicity stunt that somehow didn't get much publicity

To celebrate the launch of "Doom: The Dark Ages," ad agency Yrs Truly commissioned a tapestry that was exhibited last week in the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.

As a Yorkshire tourism site explains, "If you’ve ever seen the Bayeux Tapestry, you’ll get the vibe straight away. It’s that long cloth covered in stitched scenes from the 1066 Norman Conquest, full of knights, horses, and a bit of old-school drama. The 'Slayeux Tapestry' takes that idea and runs with it — right into the fiery chaos of DOOM. Created by French artist Simon De Thuillières, the new tapestry is 11 metres long (basically the length of a double-decker bus) and tells the story of the DOOM Slayer battling across a medieval-inspired nightmare."

Cool idea. But publicity stunts are only as good as the amount of free publicity they earn. It's always a bit of a gamble. And a quick Google News search shows this one didn't get much. Certainly far less that the arguably less clever Velveeta nail polish. That's how it goes with earned media.
