9S's darling is life itself. 9S is incredibly curious and once he met his darling he just got carried away by his curiousity, he has never felt something so intense for anything else in his life and he decided to believe that this was something good, 9S decided to devote his live and existance to his darling, to find more things and feed his curiosity with his darling at his side

Adam's darling is a whole new experience. For Adam everything is knowledge and oportunities, as an android he never expect to feel something so burning and deep as what he feels for his darling, and he absolutely love it, he wants to just bask on his new feeling at its fullest, he will keep his darling at his side to get all that knowledge and feelings he crave for so bad

Eve

Eve's darling is family. Eve never needed anyone else, he was fine having only Adam in his life and yet his darling found his way to his heart, without even noticing Eve grew to love his darling and because of that love he had swear to himself that he will protect them, he has born to protect and he will do it with everything he is and owns, nothing will ever hurt his darling and he rather be destroyed than letting anything take his darling away from him

have i ever spoken about devola oc in detail. hi

they & their popola were kind of an odd pair? a bit defective but functional enough that they weren't recalled & reprogrammed, devola was the younger twin, otherwise look identical to other devolas/popolas

shades completely wrecked the area they were overseeing in an unprecedented, unpredictable way. they could do nothing, popola died & devola's connection to project gestalt was severed (one of them died so they as a pair stopped being "processed" as alive together. legally devola is deemed dead & unrecoverable) hence their not being reprogrammed after the events of replicant

obviously devola did not cope well with that but instead of going batshit bonkers like popola does in replicant they just. started wearing popola's identity. to the point they convinced themself they Are popola & it's devola who died. because it's easier to roleplay as someone else coping with grief than to deal with their own

wanders for a very long time. very very long time. about 12 thousand years LOL! it's a long time to deny your grief & be completely alone but i think they may actually have crossed paths with emil or absinthe/weiss. way after all replicants passed on though so they didn't meet kainé & nier

background element in automata. encountered eve's corpse &... restored him to a state of functionality through a mix of magic & tinkering. this was kind of bad for everyone involved & led to a near instant codependency situation that would never get resolved & eve is of course very antagonistic about it

eventually gets to a point where he confronts them about not actually being a popola model & just straightup lying (which is info he gets from having a weird. lingering connection to 9s. he doesn't really fully get the stakes of what that Means he just knows devola is fucking lying to him about his very identity while forcibly dragging him around & keeping him alive despite him having "nothing to live for" (he's found more to live for but isn't even close to being capable of processing that as being the case)) & like. engages in a fight with them because #betrayal. he's not as strong as he used to be though so he kind of loses pretty quickly

devola is defective though & parts of them start breaking down a little. they're too emotionally fucked by the Realisation Of That Being The Case (since. to them they Were popola. they'd blocked out the memory of losing popola entirely.) & kinda just. flee

takes some time for eve to find them but it's his turn to tinker with them so they don't die badly. well they do die but it's fine everyone can come back to life a little as a treat

it does.. sort of give them a "logic virus" but eve isn't exactly connected to the machine network or anything. it's mostly just there to keep them alive & doesn't control them into getting Worse or anything. could eve use that for evil in a toxic yaoi way? yeah but lbr hes not thinking about that. thats a very adam thing to do if you ask me

also devola is trans but with the whole obfuscating their identity to even themself they haven't exactly had time to work that out. kinda comes post-everything

they never get to a point of a properly functional dynamic but honestly i don't think either of them could have a properly functional dynamic with Anyone anyway so might as well be with each other

devola's "real" personality is kinda like if automata devola was ruder & far more emotionally unstable. doesn't have the inherent guilt baked into all other remaining twins so instead he's got a shit ton of grief & resentment for project gestalt doing that to him & popola. what is "that"? well (gestures vaguely) everything. he & eve absolutely fight physically regularly

Aot and Nier automata have the same vibe

Okay I know that most of you must be like ''Girl, the fuck are you saying?" But I have had that recent thoughts lately and I came to the conclusion that Aot (Attack on Titan) and Nier automata have the same vibes and a lot of things similar that they both share.

(BIG ASS SPOILS AHEAD.)

There's a lot of things that seems alike in both of the works :

-1) The enemies that first Introduced as heartless beast and cruel creatures only to reveal later that they actually are way more complex and have a disturbing truth to them.

-2) One of the mains protagonist is a male that slowly fall into madness and commit a lot of crime and horrible things.

In they last moments both find themselves have some clearty to their actions.

-3) Both of the works have a mains female protagonist that have strong attachments to the male protagonist and doesn't show much emotions and somehow end up killing the male protagonist.

Both scenes are both a really sad and bittersweet moment.

-4) Both works introduce us to something that us (reader/gamer) and the characters believe only to be revealed later to be a lie.

In Aot it's first showed and implied that the whole humanity is behind the walls that's are protecting them.Only to be revealed later that the whole humanity isn't the whole humanity and that all of them were only a small part of the rest of the world.

That's explained Eren reaction and that's mean that the really first scene of the show is a lie.

For Nier automata it's basically the same things, the humanity is on the moon to protect themselves from the machines only to be revealed later by 9S that's a lie and that's the humanity is completely extinct and that YoRHa is there to be destroyed to perpetuate the lie.

(I couldn't find a image to illustrate my saying but I have that quote of 9S before fighting A2 in the end of the route C/D)

"The Commander? Me? 2B? Sacrificial lambs. All of us. Isn't that HILARIOUS!? Doesn't it make you LAUGH!?"

-5) Both of the works LOVES killing their characters.

I refuse to elaborate.(Sasha is one example in a few but I found her death so impactful that I putted this example here but any other Aot dead character would fit.)

-6) The importance of the concept of "Hate" in both work.

Hate is something that been talk about in both works.In Nier automata, its Adam (and Eve to so extent) that showed us the concept of Hate In the game and it's importance in it.Just for example the Hate that Eve felt when Adam got killed by 2B is something important because it's one of the few reasons that killed him in the end.(If we forget that 2B head-stabbed him)

But why do I'm talking about this ? Because it's somehow a foreshadowing to what happened to 9S in the route C/D.Our boy is already traumatised by the death of 2B but for those saying that "He BeCamE eViL bEcAuSe A2 kILleD HiS GiRl." It's way more complicated than that.

One of the few reasons of his breakdown is when he finds the truth about humanity extinction and later the main goal of YoRHa and that everyone was supposed to die, are the few reasons that lead him to lose it, but the main thing, it's the real purpose of 2B whose to kill him when he knows too much.

It's implied in the game (but also in the novel) that 9S hate and love 2B in the same time, but I think that the thing he hate isn't directly 2B. 9S hate the fact that they both stuck in this cycle (''this never ending spiral of life and death''), he hate that they both won't ever have a chance in love together.He hate that in the end not only he had and have die several times (it's implied in a concert that 2B killed him 48 times) but also getting killed by his loved one.All that Hate that been there is what lead him to lose his bananas and so to get destroyed by it.(If we forget that A2 stabbed him in ending D, it's not really clear to know what exactly happened to 9S after the ending C) JUST LIKE EVE DURING THE ENDING A AND B.

Now concerning Aot, the concept of hate is explained by the humanity.Since the beginning of the manga there's hate everywhere.Hate towards the titans, towards the rest of the world, hate by being a prisoner of some wall...

And especially Hate towards those that we can't understand.The world is stuck in this neverending spiral of hate, and Eren understood it just as well.

This is the real goal of Eren, to stop this cycle of hate and then offering his friends and people a peaceful and long life.(Something he managed to do in end even if he didn't killed everyone)

But he did also knew that this peaceful state won't last and that's why we see in the last panel everything getting destroyed.In the end the spiral of hate keep going despite everything. (Explaining the sentence "to you in 2000...or maybe 20 000 later" implying he knows that the cycle, despite his efforts will one day start all over again.)

I feel like Aot is actually the Hate existing in humanity, and Nier Automata (and the others games, don't worry i know they exist too) love talking about humanity and their dark side.

-7) A lot of shitty events happen and despite the trauma in there, the both works are actually talking about a tragic love story.

Take it or leave it.But both work are actually about a love story.

(9S2B in Automata and Eremika in Aot)

You've might have seen this point coming if you read the earlier point but yeah.Both are talking about a tragic love story in a cruel but beautiful world.

Even if in the whole story, a lot of struggle happened but in the end they still find a way to be toghether.(Somehow.)

So yeah there's a loooot of things that ties Automata and Snk/Aot together and this is just a few exemple to explain my points.I hope this isn't too annoying, my sorry ass love talking about this i'm passionate about.

hi it’s me your stalker but if you like nier you should glance at the creator’s shitty same-universe storyline drakengard because it has some of the freakiest characters ever including a one-sided incestious relationship between a princess and her sociopathic brother who does not gaf, and in 3 there is this guy who is really child-like in physical appearance but lowkey a pedophile because he’s revolted by adult qualities (large breasts on women, very muscular men, etc), literally just gets raped by his sexy boss for a while until he murders her brutally, and never shuts the fuck up about how badly he wants to fuck corpses. Adam and Eve's relationship in the anime was hella sus AND Adam was SUPER weird towards 9S who we all know looks like a total twink. Hearing this dosen't surprise me. NieR Automata: a review

I want to preface this review with the fact that I am super bias towards it. but I will try to be as upfront with it as possible.

(I will so be spoiling it kind of.)

the whole point of this game is to question everything your doing in it, so if I were to review this game as a fun toy to play with then it would probably end up being like a 7/10 for me.

the main gameplay isn't fun enough to call it a toy like other games. it feels to me when they were making this game they wanted to use every bit of room that a video game could do. like they wanted to fill this game as a artform, which alienates some players.

(also this video says stuff better than i ever could.)

i kinda love how this game gives you plenty of exit points, if you dont want to see the whole story, then you dont have to, you still get an ending, which i like. i hate it when games have a "bad ending" but then tell you that its actually not an ending at all. you get an ending.

i love the little character interactions. its probably why i love this game so much. also the way that the lines sometimes are talking about you the player.

though, a lot of the characters are oversexualized though all of them are, adam and eve are never wearing shirts (they are both men) and tight pants, 2B is quite clearly overly sexualized. if that bothers you then you def wouldnt like this. though i didnt notice it when i was playing.

Adam and Eve are my top favorites, I knew they would as soon as I saw them in the alien spaceship lol

I actually have a side blog (@glorytodroidkind) where I focus on writing Nier: Automata (and even Replicant!) oneshots and headcanons if you're ever in need to see some other nier content (heaven knows its hard to find sometimes).

One thing i dislike about having the brothers as my favorites is that I????? have to deal with people shipping them??? I once saw a comment that said "with the way adam was holding eve there's no way that they're just brothers" and I wanted to bleach my eyes.

(this is also kind of why i started writing more fanfiction bc if i couldn't find the content i wanted i was gonna make it myself)
