Week 1 is about arrivals: landing in THAV, knowing each other’s landscape of practice, laying foundation for an artist community, arriving on the surface and initially engaging with communities, and so on. Initial questions of ethics, agency, range of processes, entry points, reflexivity, contexts arise over coffee, snacks, karaoke, drinking and walking around un/charted space with/in in/visible communities. 

“The invitation as important as the process of creation.” “Inter-human instead of inter-national”. “Care-based practice and spaciousness in processes” Been reflecting on these thoughts.  “Who is seen and being seen? Who is observing and who is being observed?”.  “Community beyond being provider of content for form generated by artists.”. “Songs memorialising collective history and personal narratives.” “Performance in time of shared political unrest.” “Given socio and political-economic realities, how can institutions create a mode of production supporting development of rigorous socially-engaged performances?.”  With openness and generosity, forging ahead.
