please help support my walk for breast cancer!

my name is Elle Badilla. and in honor of breast cancer awareness month, my whole family and I are participating in the American Cancer Association's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in chicago on October 24, 2015. we’ve decided to do this walk in order to raise awareness of breast cancer as well as collect support and donations.

most importantly, my family and I are doing this walk in honor of my mother, Ingrid, who passed away earlier this year at the age of 59 after two long years fighting breast cancer. This year has been one of the hardest in my life. that’s why this is so important to me, to raise awareness and to support research. I cannot express how close to my heart this walk is. 

I was 18 when my mother passed. I was a freshman in college and I was the one who had the time to care for my mother and who took care of my mother the most. I was her youngest, her baby. I was there through it all, and words cannot express how much i deeply miss her. This whole experience has also brought my family closer together. I have cousins flying in from new york and connecticut in order to participate in our walk. so far about 14 friends and family have decided to walk with us and it would mean the world to get to our goal of $2,000 before October 24th.
