Work was good. Steady. Really good, actually. Alrik had expanded before Progress Day but now - well - he had humbler beginnings than most, laced with the sort of tragedy that left him discontent. Lysara wasn't his home, it would never be his home, but he couldn't deny that in the time since he'd arrived things had improved for him. Love. Purpose. Destiny - they'd all integrated into one, tethering itself to his inherent curiosity and sure-footed pursuit of moving ever forward. It was in his nature to continue to tinkering, his father was a blacksmith so where runed iron were where his origins began, he'd managed to bridge that to his hammer, his body - and now the witch questioned: what was next?

Obsidian eyes flickered from the forge, the midday sun beating down on him as the embered flames glint across his hues. "Adrian." Alrik greeted, it had been a long time since their road from Iskaldrik to Lysara, now with those robes there was no denying where the other had landed. "I didn't know you were an Accepted, my sister joined the Tower too."

They all had their thing apparently and after Adrian's public disclaimer, Adam had been meaning to run into the demigod again. Helped that the son of Zeus was presently - and quite actively - seeking distractions in all shapes and sizes. "Joe Exotic must be quaking right now-" Adam lifted his hand, expectantly and waited for the certifiable bro shake to complete the greeting. "My guy, all hail the new Tiger King."

"We were basically neighbours then." Vancouver to Seattle was an easy drive, Adam had made it a few times with friends or for a fight - part of him wondered if they'd ever crossed paths but he suspected he'd have remembered Adrian if they had.

"That's what most people say about me, yeah." The laughter that bubbled was short but genuine, half-jokingly inflating his own ego before it settled a bit. "I'm fully planning on pushing everyone into watching them, when it comes out in July we can go see it together as like a quest for a good time or something."

“Seattle ended up being my home base, actually.” It didn’t hold a candle to where he’d called home the first part of his life but it gave access to connections while also keeping him within arms reach of some nature. He wouldn’t miss it. Well, not much.

He gave a low whistle and a nod of appreciation. “A man who knew how to fight enough to make fake-fighting look believable? That’s impressive.” Adrian couldn’t even remember the last time he’d gotten into a physical altercation with another human but Adam was getting paid to stage them. It brought up a lot of questions about bloodlines and intention but he kept that to himself to ponder over when alone. Instead, he gave a very honest answer. “I bounced off the series after number four… but I guess I should go give it another chance, get caught up, and then go see your work in action.”

Nocturne Season 2 has officially confirmed that Alucard did, in fact, spending at least six generations as the Belmonts' "favorite uncle" and I might curl up and die of cuteness from that statement.

Apparently Juste knew him from meeting him "a total of three days" when he was fourteen, and Juste's father and grandfather "went on and on" about Alucard like he was "some sort of favorite uncle."

Hearing Juste say all of that turned me onto a puddle.

Alucard teasingly/jokingly apologizing for not being around to "bring toys" and "give fishing lessons" while Juste was little was amusing as banter, but I love the implication that Alucard probably did just that for Juste's dad, granddad, and so on.

Alucard's reason for becoming distant with the Belmont family broke my heart 😢

He was "tired of seeing Belmonts die," y'all 😭

Also the line "It's been so long since I was young, I'd forgotten what it was like."
