I've never talked about my ocs, and rarely have Ninjago stuff on here despite loving it. So…

Falin/Kendra, she can drive motorcycles and cars. Legally? No, there hasn't been anything legal for years.

Cars, because whenever her fellow errands/messenger kids would mess up an assignment they’d have to run, one of them would usually know how to hot wire a car, another would be too scared to drive, so she took it upon herself to drive. She had the general idea but in practice had to teach herself on the fly. Motorcycles because it’s easier to get through the city on them.

Cealum can drive, but he isn't the designated driver when they get 911 calls. His dad owns a car that he borrows only if he really needs it. Other than that he just take public transport or rides a bike.

Eleanor can drive, she just really doesn't want to. Which is fine by her because her roommate needs the car they share more anyway.

Besides it’s really hard to communicate with officers when she gets pulled over because she has to write out her sentences instead of signing them.

Mira? Probably not. She hasn't been around to learn these new ways to transportation. But once she does, she will be a menace, don't let her drive.

Toni can drive, but doesn’t on account if not owning a car (car insurance in Ninjago City has to be CRAZYYYYYY) and it’s easier to stop and interview ppl if he’s on a bike or on foot.

Charlie never properly learned how to drive (didn’t go to high school bc she was legally regarded as dead by that point) but does know how to and does do so.

Kit can’t drive bc they grew up in a society where it. Wasn’t needed.

What's the origin of your blog title? i didn’t want to use my usual username bc i didn’t want to be found (my friends have found my previous fanfics) so i used a combination of things i thought of in the moment = ven(om) +(ae)mond+ iese (i didn't know what else to ass so i put random words that sounded good)

I actually love this. Nyn in the books had this attitude or idea that she was the older, more mature one of the gang, but rarely showed it in her actions or behaviour. Show Nyn definitely brings a more mature presence. Not saying she is as together as eg the Aes Sedai. But something a little more knowing herself than Egwene or the boys. And it does come out particularly in the very mature way her and Lan are dealing with all their shit. And there's a lot of shit. Like. Elayne/Avi is the only ship on easy setting right now? And that's surely only to provide contrast for all the hard setting stuff that will come later. The show is deffo enjoying its complicated relationship plotlines. Anyway I get a very Eleanor Dashwood vibe but like. Slightly less repressed.

The serious tone caught Ifalna by surprise. Perhaps it was her exhaustion, but she barely could muster any argument. She knew it could completely turn his life upside down. If they were caught. "You know this could bring you trouble?" she half-cautioned. Though she knew without help from people like him, and people like Elmyra, that their freedom would already stolen.

Aerith shook her head in a childish way, full of enthusiasm, and the kind of energy that would give some adults a headache. "Nope!" Then she held her finger up. "But today I saw a train! We even got to ride it!" When he knelt down she stared at his fist long enough for it to be awkward. But then she reached and clasped both her hands around it with a big grin of her own, so it looked like she was praying. "Hello Mister Glenn! I'm Ae—rthh."

Mid-introduction, Ifalna managed to cover her daughter's mouth, even suppressed some of her name. Her eyes were wide as she realised how little prepared they actually were. "I'm sorry sweetheart, we can't use those names right now."

Understandably Aerith looked to her mother with furrowed brows. At least she removed her hand quickly but this adventure was very, very confusing. "Because of the bad men?" she asked bluntly.

Ifalna's lips pursed and she offered a nod.

Aerith's frown deepened. "I can't call you mum?"

That stole a sudden breath from Ifalna, who managed a quiet laugh. "You can call me mum. But everyone else will have to call me something else. Just like we'll have to call you... Veronica." Ah, there. Gast's suggestion of his mother's name finally won.

Just like that Aerith perked back up again, enough so that she jabbed Glenn on his chest with one of her bony little fingers. "And you can call me Ron!" She thought she was a very clever girl. "So when are you buying your motorbike? Can I ride on it?"

Ifalna merely offered Glenn a sympathetic smile. He had a good heart, and no doubt he was reeling from this chance encounter, but her little Aerith was too. She had a whole world to learn about, one that wasn't a metal cage. "Thankyou, Glenn..." then, a very small spark of her own humour came to surface. "You almost look young enough to call me mum, but Eleanor will do just fine."

They looked... awful. And the way that woman spoke, it gave Glenn a nasty prickle down his spine. She looked sick. Frail. Her face was sunken in and she didn't hold herself up well. He had felt just how light and fragile she seemed when he had held her against that wall. That little girl beside her looked a bit better, but not healthy either.

They couldn't go back? Glenn had grown up in the slums of Midgar. He knew the darkest corners of the undercity, too. At least he had heard of them. People in the shadows that made Don Corneo seem like a saint. The woman had a pretty face beneath all that paleness. She would fit into the prey-lists of some assholes around... as did the little one.

Who knew who had kept them chained up in some fucked basement and what had happened to them...

The little girl's question tore Glenn out of his stupor. Raising an eyebrow, he glanced down to her. She didn't know what motorbikes were...? What the...

Okay. This was way darker than anticipated.

"I can help.", he blurted out looking at the woman with absolute seriousness, as if he was the one caught in the headlights. It wasn't even a question or offer. He simply stated it. Because no way would he find any sleep tonight, if he left these two to their own devices, running from some human traffickers.

There was no plan yet. Not really. But he'd make one up as he went.

They couldn't go back inside of Midgar. So they had to leave. The wastelands around Midgar were no place to be in their state. They needed transportation. And luckily he was here to get just that. Would he be able to make it back to his morning shift in time? Maybe. Maybe not. He'd see about it then.

"Hah! Those are just the coolest things ever invented. You never saw a motorbike?", he grinned to the little girl, catching his natural pace again, "I'll show you - I was just about to buy one! Hey, I'm Glenn by the way."

Kneeling down, he offered the kid a fistbump. Whatever fucked up hell she and her mother had escaped from... he would help them get further away from it. It was the right thing to do.

Ae-Cha didn’t have a lot of money after rationing out her babysitting pay into bills and groceries—which mostly consisted of staple foods like beans, rice, tofu and chicken. Affording the finer things in life wasn’t something she’d ever really known, but especially not now that she’d moved to the city. She would have thought working at NASA might have given her at least something, but apparently being an intern meant she was supposed to kiss the ground all the paid scholars walked on, while she struggled to pay for a bottle of water. 

So finding a twenty dollar bill on the ground really was like heaven-sent. At first she’d picked it up and stared at it, and then stared around to make sure this wasn’t some joke or trafficking attempt. And when nobody came to rip the cash from her hands, Ae-Cha immediately walked over to the closest food cart and ordered a hot dog with everything on it. A hotdog really shouldn’t have made her as excited as it did, but she was full on grinning and halfway through her bite when she realized someone was looking at her. Her expression fell into something closer resembling doom, and she glanced down at the hotdog, and then back up at the woman. “Oh no,” she started, one cheek full of food. “That wasn’t your twenty, was it?” She had a look like a deer in headlights, because if it was, there wasn’t any way for her to pay back the $7 hotdog she’d just ordered. Unless the stranger wanted her to cough it back up like an owl regurgitating its dinner, she’d probably have to book it down the road and hope she could outrun her. Her gaze quickly glanced down at each other’s shoes. Heels versus tattered sneakers? You got this, she told herself, even if she really wasn’t in the mood to run through this ever-moving tide of people. It’d be better than having to explain how she stole some stranger’s money for a hotdog.
