“What does it feel like?” You blurted out the thought before you could stop it and Alec hummed as he looked down at you, frowning in confusion.You lifted your head from where it rested on his chest, unlacing your hands from the absentminded fiddling with his fingers you had been entertaining yourself with.

“When you bite someone… what does it feel like?” He watched you for a moment, taking in the way your head tilted in curiosity and how your eyes searched his own. He sucked in a breath before moving to take your hand in his once again, reinterlacing your fingers together.

“Well, I can’t say I really remember what it felt like-”

“That’s not a good answer.” You cut him off with a grumble. Playfully glaring at you for the interruption, he attempted to brush your pout away with the thumb of his free hand, smiling at you teasingly. Cupping your cheek softly he scolded you. “Stop sulking and allow me to finish what I was about to say.”

“Fine...” You playfully turned to nip at the palm of his hand. Alec let out a soft chuckle, the sound rumbling through his chest whilst pressing a kiss to your interlocked fingers before he continued.

“Initially it hurts- a sharp sting at the very least…” He paused to take in your reaction, and you raised your eyebrow. “However I have heard before that it can be rather… arousing?”

“Arousing?”

“ As in for you or-?” He thought over your question before he answered.

“I was just curious. I want to be prepared for when I have to be… bitten.” You stumbled over your words for a moment making him frown.

“There isn’t a need to be worried, sweetface. I’ll be right there with you the entire time.”

You beamed at him happily though your nerves did not dissipate. He smirked, moving his hand from your face and removing his other hand from your grip to push your shoulder gently, forcing you to lay back on the bed as he moved to hover over you. “Perhaps I should give you a demonstration to get rid of those nerves”

You giggled loudly as he began pressing kisses down the side of your face, along your jaw, across your neck, before stopping and sucking lightly on the soft spot where your neck met your shoulder. A wave of embarrassment flooded over you, blinking them closed for a moment of composure whilst pressing the palms of your hands against them. Alec’s hand brushed across your forehead absentmindedly, moving away the hair which had strayed across.

“You really want me to?” The surprise was clearly evident in his voice. Almost nervously, he shuffled to hover fully above you, using his thigh to push your legs apart so he could slot himself between them, both hands now planted firmly on your waist. Your eyes opened fully, bopping your head enthusiastically and wrapping your own arms back around his neck. A low groan echoed through the room, and he tightened his hold on you. Goosebumps rose on your arms, a small wave of arousal washing through you before it went away just as quick. Only for a moment.

“You are certain?” The vampire buried his head back into your neck to continue the kisses he had stopped, only this time they were directly below your pulse point where your scent was much more potent.

A loud gasp followed, and he just barely pulled away to hush you softly, using his thumb to brush soft circles on your lower back in comfort. He returned to the bite, sucking some blood from the wound and groaning as it hit his tongue.

“Amore.” The husky way he spoke, paired with the way his lips brushed against your neck and the soft circles he traced across your back drew a lust filled moan from you and you moved to tug the hair at the nape of his neck, releasing another moan from him, softer this time. His eyes caught sight of the blood escaping your neck, leaning down and using his tongue to clean the droplets which attempted to drip down to your collarbone. You whimpered - much louder than you had previously - and made an attempt to pull him even closer than he already was. You felt your hips move on their own accord, desperately seeking some friction as he lapped at your throat. Teeth pierced through the bite one last time, taking a few more mouthfuls, followed by a larger gulp before he forced himself to pull away, sealing the wound shut with his tongue.

He moved himself off of you and onto his back, pulling you onto your side. You were still as you rested next to him, seeking to regulate your breathing before you tried to say anything. Your own eyes were closed as he watched you intently, frowning as he watched you shakily inhale. After a moment you opened your eyes, meeting his own with a lopsided smile on your lips.

“Hi…” You spoke shyly, making him laugh - properly laugh.

“Hello to you too, beautiful girl.” You shuffled and buried yourself into him, breathing him in and he smiled, still stroking your back with his head resting against your hair. Another moment of silence fell upon the both of you before he spoke again.

“Felt good?” He mumbled, kissing your forehead. You hummed in response, body still trembling irregularly and a petulant look upon your face as you looked up at him.

“Mhmm… but now I need help.”

He smirked at you, leaning down to press his lips against yours. The remnant taste of your own blood sent a fresh wave of arousal through you, moving so you were now on top of him, straddling his waist.

Taking a trip to Italy was a last minute decision, firstly needing a break from my boring life and for some reason Italy always just called to me, like there was something waiting there for me

After a long tire some flight I finally landed in Italy, stepping out into the hot heat, waving down a taxi before anyone else could cut infront of me, only traveling with my backpack for easy travel, I told the driver to take me to Volterra, only an hour drive from the airport, seeing pictures of it on a guide and thought it would be a beautiful start to my trip

Finally we arrived in volterra, I paid and now standing infront of this beautiful castle, the town was fully stone built, it was beautiful unlike anything I’ve ever seen before, as I was walking down the street I got stopped by a woman, her hair luscious, he skin was flawless, her eyes so beautiful even though they must be contacts since they were such a rich red, her smile enticing

“Hi there you seem like a girl who’d love a good tour and I just so happen to be showing the castle right now for free! Does that interest you at all?” Her voice was so melodic like she was a siren I was pulled in nodding immediately watching as her smile grew, I followed her to the castle like a puppy meeting up with a group of other tourists

She led us through the castle not stopping to tell us about anything interesting we passed, finally we got to a set of big wooden door that looked like they weighed a ton but she pushed them open with ease, there beyond the doors was a huge room, marble and tile covered every inch, three thrones sat on the pedestal further back in the room, where three men sat seemingly looming over us all, others stood around the room watching us like they were ready to pounce, the doors behind us slammed soon hearing the first scream of many, it was a blood bath as the people dressed in black went from person to person until I was the only one standing

“It seems we missed one brothers and sisters”

“I’ve got her” a tall man said as he started right for me before he was stopped by the older man that sat on the throne

“WAIT” his voice boomed through the chamber, everyone stopping to look at him

He got up off the throne seemingly weak as he glided over to me

“Dear child it seems someone here has been waiting for you for a long long time” he smiled as he turned to a guy who was the most ethereal beautiful person I’ve ever seen, everything about him lured me in, he eyed me the same way and in an instant he was infront of me

I ditched my journey to get a new book and headed back to Alec’s and I’s room hoping to just clear my head and try and forget about this gut wrenching feeling

I threw myself down on the bed when a voice shocked me out of my fleeting moment of peace

“What seems to trouble you amore?” I shot up in the bed looking across the room to where the voice came from seeing Alec sat on the couch looking beautiful as ever

Not knowing where I was, I decided to approach the boy. That's when I noticed his eyes. His hazel-coloured eyes seemed to reflect the brightness of the moon. Ever since then, as much as I want to deny it, I've been looking forward to sleep. Because through sleeping, I get to escape this reality.

"Morning, __. Come and eat. I made breakfast" Sue said, smiling and placing a plate of bacon on the table. "Hey, kid. Good sleep?" Charlie asked, fixing his tie, and preparing to go down to the station. __ smiled, taking a bite out of her bacon. "Yep. I slept early. Didn't wanna be late" Said __. "By the way, Bella and Edward might drop off later along with Ness," Charlie said while heading to his cruiser. "Oh, nice. I'll make sure to come home early then. I miss my niece" __ said hurriedly, dropping off her plate by the sink. She quickly gave her step-aunt a quick hug before heading out of the house.

Saddling herself atop her BMW R18 bike, she fixed her helmet, making sure it securely buckled, before lighting a quick smoke, making sure Charlie was already out of sight before starting her engine.

Time goes by slowly for __. All she wanted to do was to go home, take a quick refreshing shower, and snuggle on her fluffy bed, hoping to see her brown-eyed boy. But alas, here she is, sitting in English class, bored out of her wits. Without knowing, __ dozed off.

Once again, she finds herself in the middle of a clearing near a small cabin. Happiness and relief filled her heart. She'd get to see Alec again for sure. "Brother, help me with this, please. I can't reach it" she heard what sounded like a girl calling out. "Just a moment, sister. Let me finish feeding the last chicken. I'll be there" Excitement filled the girl when she heard the voice. It's Alec. I have to hurry. The girl hurriedly followed the voice, pinning her outside of a small cabin. It was a simple cabin made of wood. Outside it has a small garden of what looked like an assortment of flowers and even vegetables.  A bit farther to the east, she saw a girl not that much older than her, trying to hang the newly washed clothes. From a short distance, she was met with a familiar build walking towards them. Alec. She quickly approached the twins, excited to see Alec. Shortly, the twins notice her. Alec beamed when his eyes landed on the familiar girl. "__! You're early today" He said, waving at the girl. "Hey, Alec" __ smiled at the duo. "Oh, this is my twin, Jane, by the way. I told you she was real, sister". Alec said. The blonde girl turned to __. "Hello, I'm Jane. I'm Alec's twin. Ever since the other night, he's been talking about you nonstop. I and Mother thought he was making it up" Jane said, walking up to __. "It's nice meeting you too, Jane. I've heard so much about you from Alec. He loves his sister dearly", __ said, turning her head towards Alec, who just snorted. "I do not. Jane's annoying", Alec said, playfully pushing his fuming sister. "Ugh, Alec. I'll tell Mother" Jane said, running towards the house.

Laughing, Alec turned towards the girl, still holding the basket of chicken feed. "So, you're early today" He asked, motioning the girl to follow him to the small shed by their cabin. "Well, I had nothing better to do at home, so why not?" __ said, following suit, watching Alec work on a rusty farming tool. The said boy paused for a while, his brown eyes looking straight at the girl's __ colored ones, sending chills down her spine. As crazy as it sounds, the same brown eyes that sent her to not wanting to wake up. The same brown eyes she came to love in just a few nights. "Answer me honestly, __. You're not from here. I get it now. You're literally not from here. The way you talk, the way you dress. Everything about you. You're not even supposed to be here are you?" Alec asked, still staring at the bewildered girl. "Honestly, Alec. I don't know. I don't know how to answer you because I don't know how I do it. I don't even know why I'm here. It sounds crazy, Alec. I know. The only thing I know is this is the only time in my life that I look forward to. Even though I know it's wrong. I'm not from here. I don't even know if this is all real. But after meeting you, you've become an escape for me. An escape from the reality I live in. The reality of losing my mother, being forced to live across states, being forced to smile despite everything. So to answer your question, I don't know. But what I do know is that I don't want to leave. I don't want to wake up and go back to my dull life without you." __ said, not knowing that tears were slowly pouring. The boy, quickly dropping his tools, enfulged the girl in a hug, slowly wiping her tears. "I apologize for asking, __. But I have to say that you've also become an escape for me. After that night, I've been looking forward to your arrival. You're one of a kind. While the whole village avoids us and treats us badly, like we're the devil's spawns, you're the only one who is willing to talk to us, more so to befriend us. As selfish as it sounds, part of me is also wishing for you to stay here with me" Alec said, hugging the girl tightly as if their lives both depended on it. They both stayed like that for a while. Both enjoying each other's embrace. That is until they heard a woman's voice calling. "Alec!" Said the voice. "That's my mother. I better go. Why don't you come with me?" Alec said, letting go of the girl. "I'm ok, Alec. I'll wait for you here" said the girl.

I don't want to wake up. Please don't wake me up.- The girl heard loud banging. She looked around, not knowing where the sound was coming from until another loud bang came.

The professor banged loudly on the sleeping girl's desk, waking her up from her deep slumber. "Ms. Swan, you might wanna wake up now. You're the only one left here. All the others already went home" __ looked up to the source of the voice only to see her professor glaring down at her. The said professor only left a piece of paper on her desk before walking out of the room, shaking his head in disappointment. Great. A detention slip.

__ sat in the detention room, bored out of her wits thinking about the brown-eyed boy. I have to go back. He told me himself. He feels the same way. I have to go back to him. Nothing's waiting for me in this world anyway. Mom and Dad are gone. Uncle Charlie and Aunt Sue probably think of me as a nuisance to have around. Bella's off living her married life. Nothing is left for me in this world. In the other world, I have my Alec.

__ walked along the path to the seemingly empty parking lot. Finally securing her helmet, she saddled herself on her motorbike. Ready to drive along the familiar path, her mind made up of what she's decided to do.

Walking out of the drugstore, sleeping pills in her bag, she hurried home to see her cousin Bella her husband, and child in the living room. Putting down her stuff, she ran to her cousin and niece giving them a tight hug. Edward gave Bella a knowing look. Unbeknownst to the girl her cousin's husband can read all her thoughts.

"__! I missed you. C'mon, let's go to your room. I've been meaning to talk to you" Bella said, practically dragging her cousin up the stairs, leaving her daughter and her husband downstairs. "How are you holding up?" Bella asked, sitting down on the bed while __ sat on her computer desk. "Holding up just fine, Bells. Don't worry about me. I'm feeling amazing. I've never felt this good in a while" __ said smiling up to her cousin. "By the way, Bells, I know Ness wanted to have her gaming console and you guys are still thinking about buying one for her. Well, I've been thinking. I haven't been using my Switch lately so why not just give it to her? Don't worry about the games. I have tons. You can filter out the games if you'd like" __ said, happily. Bella watched her cousin sadly as she went around the room gathering the said games, packing it all in a bag before offering it to Bella. Instead of accepting the bag, Bella held her cousin's hand. "Cous, I appreciate the gesture but we can't accept that just yet. Look, why don't we go hang out with Ed's brothers later at our house? You can bring the Switch. I'm sure Ness will enjoy a game night later" Bella asked. "Sorry, Bells, I have to catch up on school wor-" The girl was not able to finish her sentence as her cousin was quick to cut off her. "Please? This is a favor. I owe you. Just come with us later. I promise you'll enjoy it. Besides, you need a break" As Bella pleaded, she heard her husband calling for her from below. Bella once again looked at her, smiling. "Fine. Let me grab my stuff then let's go" said __. Well, this is the least I could do for what I'm about to do later. They deserve this much. __ thought to herself not knowing the sad look Edward had downstairs.

Edward watched her wife and child play with Charlie in the living room when he heard a faint thought probably from miles away. "This is it. Almost home. I hope these pills work. Please work. I need to see him. I need to go back to my Alec. Nothing is waiting for me in this world. Mom and Dad are dead. I'm just a bother, a nuisance to everyone. To Uncle Charlie, Aunt Sue, Bella, Edward, Ness. I'm sure they'll be better off without another responsibility. I have to do this". If vampires still had blood in their system, Edward would have probably paled. That was __. She can't be thinking about that. And what does she mean by seeing Alec? She doesn't even know about the existence of vampires, much less, the existence of the Volturi. "Can't this bike go a bit faster? I'm so excited to see my brown-eyed boy". Maybe I'll agree to Alec's offer to meet his Mother later." Edward was shocked by what he heard. Brown-eyes? Mother? With that, Edward excused his wife to the kitchen to tell her what he discovered and the possible reason for the occurrence.

__ entered Edward's Volvo, sitting down beside her niece, her plans delayed. In no time they were on the road heading to the Cullen house. Without knowing, the girl drifted off to a long-wanted slumber.

It was dark. Screaming was heard from the distance. __, realizing where she was, quickly ran towards her beloved's cabin. There she saw the villagers dragging the struggling twins out the door, pitchforks and torch on hand. Once the twins were out, they took out their screaming mother as well. Horrified, she ran towards the group of villagers to try to stop the scene. "BURN THE WITCHES!!!" One of the villagers screamed followed by the others. "NO PLEASE, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. THEY'RE NOT WITCHES! LET THEM GO. ALEC!!!" __ screamed, holding on to one of the villagers holding a struggling Alec. "__! Run. Please. Don't get caught up on this. PLEASE, EVERYONE, DON'T HURT HER. SHE'S NOT A PART OF THIS. __! GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FOR. PLEASE" Alec pleaded while being dragged. Before __ reached the boy, she was held back by a gruff-looking villager. "NO PLEASE, SIR, LET THEM GO!" The girl pleaded. "Stay back, madam. You've already been enchanted by the witches. Once they're gone, the spell will be broken" The villager said. __ kicked and screamed to be let go as she watched her beloved and his family get tied to the stake, ready to be burned while hearing the other villagers chanting to burn the witches. "PLEASE NO! BURN ME. BURN ME INSTEAD, PLEASE, ALEC!" __ screamed helplessly. "NO! DON'T. DON'T TOUCH HER. SHE'S SAYING THAT BECAUSE OF MY SPELL. I CURSED HER. DON'T HURT HER" Alec pleaded. __ only watched helplessly, crying to all the Gods to help her beloved brown-eyed boy. The last thing she remembered from that night was Alec mouthing one last "I love you" before closing his eyes and accepting his fate.

__ woke up screaming in an unfamiliar environment. Tears streaming down her face. She quickly hopped down the white bed, ran to her bag, and rummaged for the sleeping pills only to be stopped by her cousin, her husband by the door. Bella lightly shook the girl. "__! You're ok. Please, you're ok" Bella pleaded while hugging her struggling cousin both because of reassurance and for her not to be able to reach the pills. "LET ME GO, BELLA!" __ screamed and struggled to no avail. Human against a vampire after all. Bella only loosened her grip when she felt her cousin stop fighting. "You don't understand, Bella. I have to go back. I have to save my Alec. He's being burned, Bells. Please let me help him. There's nothing left for me here, please" __ pleaded. Although no tears can be produced, Bella felt her cousin's pain. "We're here, __. You may think there's nothing left for you but we're here. You can't leave us just yet. Ness can't lose her Aunty yet. There's also nothing you can do about Alec. You can't change anything. What's done is done, __". __ snapped her head up to her cousin, staring at her unbelievingly. "What do you mean?" __ whispered. As if on cue, Edward called them both. "It's time, Bells. They're here."

Running across the forest towards the Cullen's residence, Alec felt different. He felt a pull towards the said residence causing him to hurry. "Brother!" He was snapped out of his thoughts by his twin. "Sister, I apologize. I didn't hear you. What were you saying?" He turned to his sister. "I was asking if you're ok. As soon as we stepped foot in Washington, you started to act dazed" Jane asked his brother worriedly. "I'm fine, sister. I just feel weird. It's like something is pulling me towards the Cullens" He stated. "You're talking like you're about to find your mate with the Cullens" Jane said to her brother jokingly with a small smile. This side of her only shows her brother. Alec internally cringed at the thought.

As they near the Cullen's house, the stronger the pull. Until a certain smell reached his nose. A smell so intoxicating, a smell so sweet that it makes his throat burn despite just feeding on a couple of humans on the way to their destination. With that, the duo hurried to the residence to finish the mission Aro entrusted them: To check on the hybrid.

The pair arrived at the residence. Carlisle, the family's patriarch, standing by the doorstep. "Alec, Jane. It's nice to see the both of you. Come join us inside. Renesmee is with Edward". Carlisle said, stepping out of the way for the duo to enter. The scent ever so worsening, piercing Alec's whole being, causing further burning on his throat. Edward being able to hear his thoughts already had an idea of what was causing the burn, having experienced what the twin is experiencing before with Bella when she was a human. He may not be fond of the thought that the cousin-in-law he came to love as his sister will be mated with a Volturi, he does not say anything as he knows he's not one to talk knowing how blood-singer works.

Hearing new voices downstairs, __ can't help but feel a pull. "I'm sure Aro will be delighted to hear that the hybrid is not a threat. If we're correct, she's already reached her full maturity" Hearing those words, __ instantly felt her heart leap. That voice. Can it be? My Alec. My dear Alec is here. But how? I don't understand what's happening. Despite the confusion, she hurried downstairs to confirm her assumptions.

Heart full of hope, she hurried down the stairs. There she saw two people in black. Then she was splashed with cold water, she was met with a sight that gave her hope. Standing by the piano was her beloved with his twin. I don't understand. He's from my dream. I watched them both burn. What is happening?

As the twins are watching Renesmee play on the Piano, Alec once again, is hit with the intoxicating scent. Desperate to find the source, he snapped his head up towards the staircase where a familiar __-haired girl was standing. She seemed familiar. Everything about her feels familiar, feels like home however, no matter how much Alec wracked his brain, he can't seem to pinpoint how and where he met the girl. The moment he locked eyes with the girl, everything went flying out of the window. Nothing ever mattered. Not Aro, not his reputation, not the Volturi. All that matters is this familiar girl. Everything clicked. The scent. Her blood sings to him. Jane was right after all. He will find his mate with the Cullens.

Despite not liking the situation, Edward can't help but smile. This is better for his mate's cousin. She finally found her other half.

In an instant, Alec was in front of __, shocking the girl. She didn't have any idea about the vampire world after all. Nevertheless, she still touched the boy's cheek with her palm, caressing it softly, not minding the cold temperature in contrast to her fairly warm hand. "Alec. You're ok. But your eyes?" she said. Shocked that she knew his name, he finally found his voice. "You know my name?" This seems to strike something within the young girl. "You don't remember" she said, all hope leaving her. Sensing the pain in the girl seemed to hurt him as well. The exchange was cut off by the other twin. "Brother, if I understood correctly, it seemed that you have found your mate in this human. Although Caius will be thrilled to know that the Cullens are yet again endangering our species by telling another human of our existence" said Jane. That statement seemed to anger the male vampire and for the first time in centuries, that anger was towards his dear sister. "Yes, I have found my mate. However, you will not interfere, sister. This will not reach the masters. __ shall remain unharmed" Alec said, black mist slowly seeping from his palms, ready to protect his dear mate. Sensing the anger radiating from her brother, Jane was quick to reassure her brother. As much as she hated the fact that her dearest brother was mated to a human, one associated with the Cullens nonetheless, her priority is still her brother's happiness and if accepting the human is required then she's willing to adjust. "Understood, brother. We shall tell them once you're ready. It pains me that you think I'll hurt your mate" Jane said, slowly approaching the two. "Jane? It's you. You're also safe. Oh, thank God. But your eyes though. And, Alec, you're so cold. Are you ok? Are you sick?" __ said, relief turning to worry in seconds.

"Sorry to break the moment but Alec, Jane, she's not aware of our existence. If I'm not mistaken, she's also been having visions about you even before now, Alec" Edward said. "I see. Brother, I believe it's best to explain the situation to her" Jane said, turning to her twin. "Yes. Jane, can we excuse you outside? We need I have to tell you something about those visions" Bella whispered so low as to not let the human girl hear. Everyone left the two mates together.

"What happened to you Alec?" __ asked sitting down. Before he could respond, he saw tears slowly pouring from the girl's eyes. Quickly, he wiped away the tears. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to do anything, I wasn't able to stop the villagers, Alec" said the girl, tears streaming down her cheeks. That statement seemed to bring all the memories of that night to Alec. That's why she's familiar. She's the girl who only appears at night. The girl who insists she's not from there. It all makes sense now. Alec thought to himself. "__. It makes sense now. You are not from that era, are you? That's why you keep on disappearing" He unknowingly said, voicing out his thoughts. "Yes, and I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I did try going back but I can't-" Before she finished, she was cut off by Alec. "Cara Mia, it's not your fault. Even if you come back, there's nothing you can do. And even if you do go back, please don't change anything. Don't save us. If you do, we won't be able to meet here" Alec said, holding both of __'s hands. "I don't understand, Alec. What's happening?" __ said, gripping Alec's hand. "Don't worry, __. Let me explain everything but you have to relax. Ok, Cara Mia?" Alec said, gently brushing his thumb across her face. With that, the boy opened the world of the supernatural to the girl.

Jane sat in Bella and Edward's small forest cabin along with the other Cullens, trying to understand the situation. "__ has been having visions of both you and Alec even before. Much like Alice but with her, it's the past and it only happens when she's asleep" Bella tried to explain the best she could. "I heard her thoughts before going here. She said it started when she moved here to Forks a day after her family's accident" Edward added. "Wait. So time travel?" Jane asked, confusion evident in her voice. "Kind of? In the form of astral projection. I'm sorry, Jane. That's all we know. We only learned about this earlier this afternoon" Alice piped in.

"I want to become a vampire" This statement shocked the vampires walking in from Edward and Bella's. "Alec, turn me now. C'mon, bite me. I'm ready." __ said happily, turning to Alec while exposing her neck which shocked the boy even more. "Love, let's slow down a bit, ok? I know you want to be with me which I'm very happy about but as I explained earlier, once you become like us, there won't be any turn backs" Alec said gently holding her hands. "I know and I'm ready. C'mon let's do it now" She retorted which caused the twins to smile. "How about this? We set a date. How about on your 18th birthday? It will be set a month from now. This way, you'll have enough time to enjoy your mortality and bid your farewells to your human friends. Deal?" Alec said, putting his hands on her waist, and pulling her closer. The newly found mates don't seem to mind the other vampires watching. "Fine. But you have to stay here with me, ok? For a month. Please" She said, putting her forehead against his cold ones. "Of course, that can be arranged, right, sister?" He said, smiling and not bothering to turn his head towards his twin. Jane smiled. Happy that her brother finally found his other half after centuries of waiting. "Of course, brother. I'll give Aro a call" She said happily.

Finally, the two souls seemingly unreachable to each other have met and reunited. Indeed love moves in mysterious ways.

Chapter Five • Chapter Four Here •

Demetri Volturi x Fem!(cullen)Reader

Chapter Warnings : Google translated Italian & French, brief mention of traumatic events, description of killing animals, this has not been proof read and is adapted from one of my Wattpad drafts so pls ignore any slip ups 🫶

Jane had shown her into a large suite, a mixture of warm grey and peacock blue decorating the walls and furniture. A sweet scent of citrus suffocated her as soon as the door opened, her dead heart awakening into palpitations for some obscure reason. The witch twin clearly didn't notice anything as she just left the newest member of the guard by herself, a scowl sent her way before she vanished.

A large bed sat in the centre of the room, Y/N grimaced slightly at the thought of why that was needed. She'd never had a bed since she was turned, but the rest of her family did. Edward had only gotten one recently, as a place for 'the human' to sleep. She preferred her sofas.

Her eyes found one in the corner of the room, infront of a large arched window looking onto the fields surrounding the town. The dark grey, velvet fabric was worn at points, clearly having been treated well but ageing naturally as time passed. She began to wonder how much older some of the objects in the room were compared to her.

On the same side of the room was a relatively large bookcase, similar to the size of her own in Forks but a shade of pine rather than the dark oak she adored. It held an array of coloured spines, most of the worn with age and use. Her body urged to go and see what collection 'Demetri' held over the years. She wondered how old he was, she'd never heard Carlisle mention him. Was he here when her adoptive father was all those century's ago ?

Her head clouded with questions as she strolled through the rest of the room. She wondered into the open doorway on the opposite side of the room to the sofa and bookcase, eyes glowing with mesmer as she caught sight of the vast array of suits hung in what was obviously this guy's walk-in wardrobe.

She ran her hand over the closest outfit ; a grey rayon challis suit jacket-coat and trouser set with shades of navy, cyan, cobalt and peacock embroidering the waistcoat. The one beside it was slightly more modern ; a midnight black cotton blend blazer and trousers and a matching waistcoat with water coloured burgundy red and burnt orange buttons. Though simple, it was clearly an expensive set. The material was richer than what was in most shops and it was most likely tailor fitted.

She carried on through the suits, not a single set of modern clothes on the hooks. She became more and more astonished at the mixture of rich clothing. Each suit was unique to anything she'd ever seen before.

Every second she was in the room her heart seemed to race with a speed she'd never felt. The scent of lemons and limes overtaking her brain.

Suddenly, there was a heavy knock against the door.

Y/N gave a panicked blink to the entrance from within the closet, rushing with all her speed to the main room in an attempt to not look nosey.

She launched herself on the nearest seat as the door began to open, a squeal leaving her lips as she noticed herself on the bed that had been used with who knows.

Alec walked into the room with a bored expression, it was quickly replaced when he found the new girl falling off of Demetri's bed and onto the half oak floor.

"I see you're making yourself comfortable."

The old English accent that came from the youthful boy brought Y/N's attention back. A bashful smile falling on her as she found him holding a hand out to help her up, his other folded behind his back.

The second twin was slightly taller than his sister, still at least half a foot shorter than herself thought. His cheeks still held their childish rounding even after the hollowing the change brought anyone who went through it.

"Don't worry, the sheets get washed."

She sent Alec an unamused look as she patted her clothed down, fixing her jeans from their crinkled appearance.

"Funny. Won't his mate be annoyed I'm in his room ?"

"Demetri doesn't have a mate."

The answer drew Y/N's brows together, her eyes darting to look back to the bed and then to the taller figure infront of her, a few blinks of question being sent to the clearly more likeable twin.

It only took a smirk and the two words to make her feel like gagging.

"Signor Casanova."

The older boy gave a chuckle in response, his arm from behind his back coming toward her with a black duffle bag, her black duffle bag.

"You left this in the reception area, I assumed you would want to get changed out of those god-awful clothes."

Y/N gave him a gawp at the insult, snatching the bag out of his hands and zooming over to the grey sofa to place it down, unzipping the top and letting out a smile when she noticed the photo and its frame still in tact.

"I'll have you know these jeans are Armani."

"Am I supposed to be impressed ?"

She sent him an eye-roll, placing the photo delicately on the seat, beside her bag, and taking out one of her dresses from the bottom of the bag.

"Anyways, thank you."

"No problem."

She sent an awkward smile back to the brunette as she stood with a relaxed smirk. Y/N assumed that it was just his resting face with how often he wore that exact look in the few minutes she'd seen him.

"Urm, I was going to get changed."

"Oh, right."

Alec gave a curt nod, she assuming that he'd take the que to leave the room. He didn't. The millenniums old pre-teen simply turned his body around to face the curve of the door and wall. She knew that it was the most privacy she was going to get so started removing her dust tainted sweater and jeans, slipping the black cotton-blend dress over her head and fixing it down her body. The clothing had soft tulip sleeves and a sweetheart neckline, clinging to her torso's shape before flowing down loosely towards her mid-calf. She finally slipped her adidas back on over her white, scrunched ankle socks, a mutter to Alec that he could turn back around - which he was more than happy to.

"I was wondering if you wanted the castle and gardens tour ?"

"You really don't have to-"

"It's my job, and Jane's - but she hates you so that's not going to happen."

Y/N just gave a small laugh, pushing herself the sofa with a kind nod.

"That would be lovely then."

"Great. We can leave now if you have nothing else planned ?"

She gave a nod in response, lightly lifting her photo back into  her bag and leaving the duffle open on the chair. She assumed no one was going to use the room whilst she was gone.

Alec started the tour from the room she was staying in, seeing how 'Demetri' was one of the 'most treasured guards' so his room was one of the highest in the castle. Alec followed that sentence with 'my room's just next door' so she wasn't sure if there was a bit of biases in the order of guard appreciation.

"The masters' rooms are on the floor above but you won't need to go there unless summoned."

As he went to carry on down the hall, Alec noticed the figure beside him having disappeared. He was about to curse how he'd managed to loose her with a minute but quickly turned to find the girl staring at one of the framed canvas hung on the brick walls.

"These paintings are magnificent !"

Alec retraced his steps, standing beside the girl with a nod.

"Master Caius created most of them, he's quite talented."

"100 percent."

They carried on through the corridors with comfortable conversation, Y/N honestly not paying attention to where they were. She was definitely going to get lost a few times before she knew where anything was.

"So what's everyone's gifts ? If you're 'the most treasured guards' there's got to be something special about you."

Alec gave a laugh at the quotations she made with her fingers. He simply pointed to his face, the smirk on his lips growing as he gave her a wink.

"Well obviously mine is my outrageous good looks."

"Oh course, what else could it be (?!)"

The duo shared a laugh. They were clearly becoming good friends quickly, a few stray guards sending amused looks to the two as Alec gave an occasion fact about where they strolled.

"I take away senses, Jane caused fire-like pain."

"Ying and Yan then." She received a questioning brow off the younger twin, quickly explaining herself. "You mute someone's senses whilst Jane awakens them ?"

"I guess, I've never thought of that."

"See, I'm not just a pretty face, the brain works too."

"Felix and Demetri are away on a mission at the moment so you'll meet them next week if everything goes to plan. Felix doesn't hold an exact gift but he's very powerful strength wise and Demetri is the strongest tracker in history."

"That's quite a pedestal."

"Trust me, it sucks when you're playing nascondino."

"You play hide and seek ?"

The new arrival held back a snort of laughter, Alec just becoming more exasperated.

"Not anymore ! He won too easily."

They turned a corner, more brick wall directing them as Alec fully forgot he was supposed to be giving a tour.

"What's your gift ? Master Aro mentioned one."

"Well it's two I guess, I have the gifts of charm and persuasion."

Alec just gave her a look which stated he didn't believe her. Y/N rolled her eyes in return, grabbing onto his arm to stop him before fluttering her lashes.

"Inginocchiarsi, per favore." [kneel, please]

Alec suddenly dropped to his suited knees in the hallway, Y/N checking that there were no other guards around them before lifting her illusion with a quick 'grazie'.

A glaze lifted from his eyes as he started looking around, confusion evident as he looked up to the smirking girl holding her hand out to him. He reluctantly took it with a soft scowl sent her way, dusting his knees of the stay dust before he carried on walking. Y/N followed, a bright grin on her lips.

"Okay, I believe you. My time for questions, when did you get turned ?"

"1943."

"Oh so you're a proper baby ?"

"I am not ! You look like you've just left kindergarten. "

"I'm over two thousand, so you are a baby."

"You're just ancient."

"And you're an infant."

They looked at each other with their smirks strong, Y/N rolling her eyes as a que for the next question.

"Where are you from, your Italian is eccellente [excellent]."

"New Jersey."

The answer sent Alec into confusion, she gesturing for him to wait for the answer to the Italian remark.

"My family were Italian immigrants, moved over after the First World War. My father made sure I knew the language perfectly. I barely spoke English until I was with the Cullens."

"That explains it then."

"Si. What about you ?"

"England, Aro rescued me and Jane from being burnt in the witch trials."

"Why would you get burnt before you were turned ?"

Lines decorated between Y/N's brows, Alec just gave a shrug.

"We were twins, back then people thought it was a mark of the devil."

"I think I read about that in history class." The boy gave a nod with a few laughs, Y/N giving him a nudge to the arm and a smile in return. "I did !"

"I'm not disputing it !"

They finally reach the end of one of the corridors, a large brown oak door pausing their path. Alec gave it a light push, Y/N trailing behind him. Her eyes squinted when a sudden burst of light hit them.

"And these are the gardens."

They walked in silence for a while, Y/N getting distracted by the amount of species of plant surrounding them.

As they were walking through the different shades of roses, a soft mew was heard a few meters away. The girl of the duo's starved eyes shot open, darting at the area the sound echoed from. A shuffle of leaves was heard and before Alec could look to the tabby cat strolling the gardens, the girl beside him launched at it.

Alec walked over to her as she drained the animal before him, eyes wide in amusement as the taste melted in Y/N's mouth. It took her a minute for her to drain the body, discarding it in the middle of the rose bush, it was then that her eyes zoned back in to her surroundings. A bashful and bloody look gazing up at the muffled laughs of Alec.

"I'm hungry."

"I've never seen someone drain a cat."

She gave a scowl at the pathetic animal, remembering her feeds in Forks and Denali.

"Stag are much better."

"We feed off humans here."

She paused for a moment, eyes in thought as they shifted to a softer gold than the brown topaz they'd been over the last day. She gave a shrug, if she was going to remain there there was no point arguing their meal choice. Carlisle had gave her the whole 'more humane' peach once she'd turned, but he also thought her gift was inhumane and here they appreciated it.

"Oh yeah ! I'll have to get used to that, I've never had human blood before."

"Did Carlisle turn you then ?"

Y/N practically froze, her mind trying to not run over the vicious scene playing from her point of view. She blinked out of it eventually, Alec having noticed the sudden mood change and also noticing not to bring it up with her. It was clearly not something she wanted to talk about.

"Edward found me mid-change. I was bit by a nomad."

She kept her answer short, quickly trying to change conversation topic.

"Do you have clothes shops near here ? I think I'm a bit underdressed."

She'd took note of the gowns and suits the other guards wore around the corridors and in the throne room, starting to feel bare even in one of the most formal dresses she owned. She clearly hadn't thought anything through when she was packing - then again, she was in a slight rush.

"We have a covern tailoress, Madeline. I can take you to her to get your measurements and she'll drop some dresses off in Demetri's room for you ?"

"That would be fabulous, thank you."

Alec linked her arm this time as he lead her back into the castle, only a few doors past before he gave a singular knock on a white varnished door. Not a millisecond later, a caramel brown haired woman appeared before them, a bright smile on her lips as she greeted them, ushering them into the room.

"Alec, darling ! Lovely to see you again. And who do we have here ?"

She sent a smirk to the young boy, Alec just giving her a smirk in reply at the suggestive tone of the clearly kindhearted woman. If Y/N could blush, she would definatly be beet red.

"This is Y/N Y/L/N, she'll be joining us here. I was hopeing that you would be kind enough to take her measurements."

A smile reached Y/N's lips as she noticed how Alec had introduced her, golden eyes looking down to his crimson ones with a shine in them. She was trying to ditch the prejudices the covern clearly held to her previous family, using her birth surname helped alot.

"Oh course I can ! I always have time for my favourite guard's friends."

Madeline gave a kind smile to the new member of the guard, directing her over to the small metal pedestal in-front of a span of mirrors. A blur of the woman whipped around her with a white tape and within the minute her sizes were jotted into a small notebook on the other side of the room.

"When where you born darling."

Y/N gave a blink as the woman returned with swatches of coloured fabric, eyes looking in the mirror's reflections to Alec as if to ask permission to answer. He gave her a nod in return.

"1924 ?"

"Aw, you're just a baby then. Don't worry, I'll make you the most fabulous dresses my hands can muster."

Madeline gave a toothy smile, directing the girl back to Alec, the boy stood with a humorous smirk at the infant comment.

"Oh you pop children, I'll bring the dresses to your room tomorrow. Will you be wanting a cloak ?"

"Oui, merci Madeline."

Alec answered for her, Y/N turning to him at the language change. She guess she should've picked up on the slight French tilt in the woman's accent.

"Elle est dans Demetri's chambre." [she's in Demetri's room]

Y/N looked between the smirking pair nervously before the woman gave a sharp toned comment.

"Je voids. J'espère qu'il agit monsieur comme." [I see. I hope he is acting gentleman-like]

Alec just gave a frightened nod in reply, Y/N turning to him with confused eyes. She was wondering if she should be running for the hills with how the boy reacted.

"Bien, maintenant laisse-moi travailler. Faites ce que vous faites, les jeunes." [good, now let me work. Go do whatever you do, youths]

Alec quickly turned, linking his arm with Y/N again and dragging her out of the room, not letting her say thanks to the lovely but clearly terrifying woman.

They ended up back in the gardens, Alec wondering further into the foliage with the confused girl on his arm. The sun had lowered slightly compared to the blared light before.

"What did she say ? What did you tell her ?"

"I told her you were staying in Demetri's room... she may have got the wrong idea."

Y/N’s jaw dropped, her right palm coming up to slap the boy's shoulder in horror.

"And you didn't correct her because ?!"

"She scares me !"

Her eyes widened, upper lip turning as she shrugged her shoulders slightly.

"She's scary ! She hit Felix once."

"I guess I'll forgive you then (!)"

The sarcastic reply came sharp, Y/N holding her expression.

"You haven't been on her bad side !"

Her mind was distracted by a rustling nearby, the scent of rabbit filling the younger girl's senses before she took off in the wooded area's direction, a confused Alec hot on her tail. The boy paused his speed when he noticed her launching herself to the grown, a large rabbit in her mouth whilst her hands snapped the necks of the other two animals with practiced ease.

Another bundle of laughs were released from above her as Y/N sat cross-legged on the floor, draining each animal before throwing them into a nearby bush.

"What ?"

"I think you've got a hare in your mouth."

The boy's smirk simply grew as he relayed the terrible joke, just earning an eye roll for a reaction.

I was sitting in the library with Felix and Demetri just talking about our latest mission that the three of us had recently.

“You know the satisfaction I had when I sunk my teeth into that human, she was such a pain in the ass, and it made it better that her vampire mate was watching, but….. I got to say Felix the amount of times I have seen you rip heads off, it's always more satisfying than the last one”

Felix smirks “Thanks y/n, you know it never gets old either and you are right that human girl was annoying, glad she got what she deserve”

Demetri spoke up “I never understood how a human and a vampire can be mates, it's just how can that be you know, like I feel if they ever had intimacy or something that poor human would be dead in a minute”.

We burst out laughing at his comment, “Dem you never fail to make me laugh” 

He shrug his shoulders “What can I say it's a talent”

I roll my eyes at his comment and Felix says “Where’s your mate and Jane, I thought you were going to spend the day with him anyway or something”

I said casually with a hint of sadness“I was suppose to be with him today, but he canceled last minute, he said he had to do something important”

Both guys looked at me and Demetri was the first to talk

“More important than you? y/n that's been like the 10th time he has canceled on you this past month, how in the world are you not pissed at him, when was the last time you two spent quality time together?”

I thought about it for a minute trying to remember but then I realized it's been a very long time, maybe a half a decade already. We haven't even had sex in that time either. I looked at the boys

“Um…maybe a couple of years?”

I nod hesitantly “I didn't even realize it's been that long, son of a bitch, has he been avoiding me or something?”

Felix shook his head in disapproval “You know that's not fair for you y/n, have you even brought that up to him”

I shook my head “I mean I just….You know your right Felix, this cant be going on like this, maybe I should I give him a piece of my own medicine”

Demetri eyes widen like a child who was given a treat“Oooo I like the sound of that”

I smile slightly but then I sense Alec entering the library which causes me to internally panic. I ignored him sitting next to me and instead I went to the bookshelves and looked for a book to read. In the corner of my eye I see that Alec looks at me with a bit of a confused look but then an idea pops up. My power is being able to move things with my mind but I could also telepathically talk to others. I use my power and send a message to Felix to improvise with the upcoming plan I'm about to do.

“Felix? Can you help me get that book that's up there?”

I look at the mountain of a vampire who is instantly by my side. “Of course cara, which one do you want?” 

I could see that Alec’s eyes have narrowed at the sudden interaction “That one called Philosophy of Athens”

Felix nods and reaches over me to grab the book and I just look up into his face when he is reaching up, he looks down to me with a devilish smirk and I just wink in return. I knew Alec will be fuming with anger but he deserves payback. Felix hands me the book and he slightly brushes his lips on my jawline which catches me off guard for a minute but I fake an innocent look at him while he just winks and walks back to his previous spot. I stand there for a minute and I see that Alec has disappeared. I look around the library and Demetri speaks up

“He left after Felix gave you the kiss, you should of seen his face, if looks could kill, Felix would of been six feet under”

I roll my eyes and ask “Should I go after him or…?”

Demetri shakes his head “Y/n you got a reaction out of him, you need to keep going so he is the one that comes up to you, he is the one that has been pushing you aside, now it's your turn”

I nod “Your right Dem, this is the start of a new era”. They both smiled mischievously.

1 week later..

It's been a week since the library incident and Alec still has not come up to me, I know the game I am playing is dangerous. I mean come on he's one of the infamous twins who are the most intimidating and ruthless and yet here I am ignoring and pushing him away. It has been so hard to be this way with him, I love him so much that just being like this is torture, I think I would rather have Jane use her power on me then have to be like this with Alec and that is saying something.

On Alec’s part he still is acting the same, he has not even dared to look me in the eye or even been in the same room as me for long. I also noticed that recently I have been aching for Alec more than usual, I literally want him to be with me again, at this point I would take anything from him even if he just looks at me. 

I miss his piercing burgundy eyes that always leave me in a trance or how his jawline tightens when I would brush against him slightly. Even to how he stands so elegantly when we are at our guard meetings with the Kings. Or how his smirk can literally make me feel weak in the knees but I would never give him the satisfaction in telling him the effect his smirk gives me because I know he would tease me for years to come. I miss how we cuddle either in our shared chamber or under the willow tree I am currently laying down, it was our spot that we would spend hours at.

I was so lost in thought I didn't even notice someone was calling my name until someone slightly kicked my foot and I finally sat up and snapped my gaze to the person. It was Jane and she had that emotionless look as usual, she was the one to speak first 

“Why are you here alone, I thought you were going to train the newborns with Felix and Demetri?”

I was going to do that today but the guys knew I was not feeling it and noticed I am not in a right mindset so they gave me the day off

“They gave me the day off”

She nods slightly “Still does not answer my question”

I look down defeated “He doesn't want me anymore, he won't even look at me anymore or even leave those little love notes in my favorite books”

There was a silence and I thought she left but she talked again “You think my brother does not want you anymore?”

I nodded and if I could cry I would at that moment “He doesn't even come into our private chambers as often”

There was that tense silence again “Have you spoken to him about this?”

I shook my head “How can I when I don't even know where he is half of the time and he wont even come to me anymore, he keeps canceling our date nights also”

At that point I wanted to shake Jane to get her to tell me anything about Alec, I was that desperate but I used my telekinesis to hold me down so I didn't actually jump her.

She spoke up again “I don't know what is up with my brother, he won't say but I can tell there is something wrong, I would assume you would have an idea because when we part ways i thought he would always go to you”

When she said that my gaze snapped up to her again in shock “So not even you know what is up with him then?”

She shook her head and I said “Jane, if I asked you to do something for me would you do it?”

“Of course, you are my sister-in-law after all, your the second person I genuinely like, first being my brother”

I nod “Can you use your power on me?”

I saw her eyes widen at that and she instantly shook her head “No I will never do that to you, why would you ask such a request from me?”

I let an unnecessary sigh out “I don't feel anything Jane, Alec has been distant for a couple of years already, I can feel that sudden small rip in our bond, it hurts Jane, it really does, and at this point I don't think I can even go on in life without him, even when I spend time with Felix and Demetri, I just fake it so they don't question me to much”

She got down on her knees and what she did next would shock others but not to me, she hugged me tightly. I just let her hug me while I just sat there dully, she soon pulled away and said “Y/n I can't bare to see you like this, I haven't even realized that you and Alec have been like this for so long, I don't want to see the two most important people in my life like this anymore”

I don't respond but nod along mindlessly

“Wait here, I will be back”

She left before I can look at her, I decided to lay down again and closed my eyes as I felt my eyes burn with venom, the thing that sucked of being a vampire is not being able to let real tears out, I just feel this burning sensation in my eyes but I haven't felt like this in centuries already. Alec has always made me feel loved and happy, the way that man with only just a touch has me melting for him or when he did those rare smiles I love so much. If I had a heart it would be beating out of my chest every time we are together.

When me and Alec were told we were mates by Marcus, we absolutely loathe each other, we could barely be in the same room without one of us getting annoyed by the other. It took us a good year until we started to tolerate each other. Soon after that year I started to feel the bond with him, I couldn't stand to be away from him for long and I knew he felt the same way because the minute we were apart he or I would go search for the other.

One day he decided to take me on a walk in the gardens, and as cliche as this might sound he kissed me under the moonlight. The moonlight was literally on us when we were kissing, at that moment me and him accepted each other completely as mates. We were inseparable, we started to share a room together and the Kings were more accepting of me and Alec going on missions together without the fear we might rip each other's throats out. 

It felt like we were in wonderland or in cloud 9, when he moved I moved, or when I moved he followed along. We also had a very long honeymoon phase where we couldn't keep our hands to ourselves, every time when we were hanging with the other guards, me and Alec would sneak away and have our intimacy or when we were in the hallways he would give me kisses out of nowhere against the wall, we been caught various times but that didn't stop us from doing it again.

We have been mated for centuries, and not a day goes by that I don't fall in love with him all over again or feel tired of him. He really is my other half but with the lack of Alec in my life it has taken a toll on me, it almost feels like HE is sick and tired of me.

Just that thought could break my non-existent heart, I would end up like Marcus in a way. If Alec were to leave me it's way worse than him being dead. I would still have to see him and be in his presence but not be able to actually be with him.

My mind must have wondered again because I didn't realize a certain someone was sitting next to me. I opened my eyes when I realized it was Alec from the pull of the bond. From that I sat up and he looked right at me, watching me carefully and intensely. He still has that stone face that makes him look so gorgeous, he really is the reincarnation of some Greek god. We stayed quiet watching each other for a while when he finally spoke, hearing his voice again would have made me shiver if I could.

“So you and Felix, huh?”

Even though it feels amazing to hear him talking to me, that question threw me off and made me change moods in an instant.

“Seriously? After months and months of not having full conversations or paying attention to me, you have the audacity of asking a question like that?”

He stayed quiet and I could tell his mind was blank because I couldn't hear his thoughts.

“Why would I ever get with Felix when I have a mate that I love deeply? words cannot describe the love I have for you”

That for sure caught him off guard because he blinked a bit from shock and he spoke up

“Just wanted to hear you say that and get a reaction out of you” and then he winks.

That bastard winked and it was so smooth that I didn't even give what he said a second thought, he left me flabbergasted.

“You really are bipolar, you never fail to surprise me after centuries of being together”

He smiles slightly at my comment 

“And you don’t fail to amuse me with your words”

“Don't think with your wink and smile will make me forgive you that easily”

The way he genuinely looked surprises at my accusation really did set my mood off

“Are you really asking me that? Have you not heard what I said earlier or noticed the lack of us?”

I saw his facial expression shift to tense “So I was ignoring you then?”

 “Obviously, do you remember the last time we went on a date?”

He stayed silent and I knew he was trying to remember and at that moment I can also tell everything that what has been happening these past few years was hitting him.

“Too long ago…”

I nodded “And even then when we made plans you would cancel or say you forgot or are to busy”

He looked down in what I could assume was shame.

“Even if we didn't go on dates, you have been avoiding me like the plague, you don't even look at me as much or even hug me, you can't even bare to be in the same room as me for long, it's as if we are back to when we hated each other before accepting each other as mates all over again but worse”

His mind was still blank 

“I have been miserable without you, I even asked Jane earlier to use her power on me because I don't even feel anything anymore”

He looked at me with shock “You really asked her to do that? But…”

“I did, but she refused of course”

He nodded “Cara mia, I been so stupid, I never meant to hurt you in anyway”

I looked at him “If you really never meant to hurt me what made you act like this toward me for so long?”

He took an unnecessary breath “I don't know, I felt like these past years I was feeling…..off, I felt like being away from everyone but I didn't even realize its been going on for a while until Jane came up to me and smack me and ordered me to come to you”

 “You could of just came up to me and talked or let me into your mind if you can't form words, I have always been there for you Alec”

He looked at me with remorse and in a soft voice he confessed

“I didn't want to be a burden to you or bring you down with me”

I reached reach for his hand

"Alec you will never be a burden to me, we go together in our darkest or lightest days as we always did in the past, there's no I in us”

He squeezed my hand “I never wanted to make you feel unwanted, I just wanted to figure this out alone but I realize I can't without you”

I nodded, “How could you let so much time go by like that without trying to get help from me or saying anything?”

He shrug his shoulders “We been immortals for so long that time kind of blurs for us in a way but that still does not make up for what I done to you, you are my whole reason for being here, my center and life, mi amore ti amo, I will never to this to you again, and if I do then I give you permission to slap me or something because then I would of broken my promise to you”

“Oh Alec come here” I reached for him and he instantly wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into his laps to deepen the hug.

Just being in his arms again was the best feeling. I fell in love with him all over again at that moment, he is my reason for being and I would not want it any other way.

Silent footsteps drew closer, going completely unbeknownst to you as you slept soundly, snuggled up in the silky sheets of your bed. A moment later you felt cool hand gliding down your back, coming to rest at the base of your spine and massaging a soft rhythm into the skin.

“Sweetface?”

You groaned at the loudness of his voice, the feel of his coldness seeping through your sleep shirt and attempted to snuggle deeper into your own warmth, though he immediately pulled you onto your back to admire your face. Alec frowned when you let out another noise - this one more akin to a whine. He shifted to sit against the headboard, pulling you over onto his lap and cradling you bridal style against his chest.

“What’s the matter, baby?” Squinting up at him, you noted the soft look in his eyes, the little pout of his lips as he spoke to you, dropping an octave in favour of your little warning noises. Hearing his soft voice managed to settle you a little, a deep pout working its way onto your face as you lifted your hands to drag across your eyes and tugging at the sensitive skin rather roughly. Alec cupped your hands in his own, pulling them away with a deeper frown.

“I just had a bad day…” You whimpered rather pathetically, feeling a tad dramatic despite the impact of stress building inside of you and making your head hurt. “and now my head hurts.”

You felt one of Alec’s hands release your own, his touch drifting up to brush the hair away from your forehead lovingly. Pressing a kiss to your forehead, he rested a hand against your skin, feeling the way your body had begun to burn up in response your hectic thoughts. His touch created the illusion of an ice pack on your pulsing headache, and you immediately moved closer to hold it there with a sigh of relief. He chuckled, pressing a kiss to your nose. “My sweet girl.”

He kept his hand resting against your forehead, though he had now subtly began to rock you back and fourth. With a sleepy mumble, your hands came up to play with the crest which dangled elegantly around his neck, tracing the delicate lines and little details with complete tranquility. Alec spoke again after a moment of silence.

“Is this okay?” You hum in response, opening your eyes to watch him softly. “Do you need anything else?”

“I’m okay- I just want you to hold me…”

He smiled down at you, leaning forward and pressing a soft kiss to your lips, then your nose. A sweet little giggle left your lips, and Alec’s smile widened completely as he zoned in on it. It was music to his ears every time he managed to pull one from you and he happily basked in the noise.

He pulled you even closer (if that were even possible) and you immediately snuggled your head into his collarbone. Completely content surrounded by the soft scent of your mate - that paired with the strong hold he had you in and the soft rocking motion, you barely felt the pent up emotion of the day wash away, mind finally at ease and ready for sleep to overcome you. It had all happened too fast. Had you not been in the throne room, you'd have assumed you were hut by a truck or train. You were on the ground before you knew. Your only warning was a snarl, and everything happened so quickly you didn't get the reaction time. You felt the pain of the slam to marble ground, back muscles seizing and locking from impact.

Second came an icy grip stronger than steel...some hair. It brushed your face. Two needles forced their way through the skin if your neck and then more little needles followed in a circle. It felt like a sting that turned into a burn, a draining burn. A crunch and more pain, a numbness deep in her bones. A cold slick tongue lap at the skin.

The concept of time fading the nervendings in your body snapping like tiny fireworks, brain cells sparking, sending out colours, lights, images of memories, and dreams. All as quickly beginning to fade when the show is halted, they fall away to show the ceiling once more. The light of the torches dancing along the ceiling. Someone moved into sight.

Alec looked down at you passively, almost like he was looking through you until he cupped your face. He straddled your body, and you felt his weight on your stomach. "You're alright. I'll fix this. You'll be alright." He said softly. He leaned closer, his face looming over your own.

Red eyes coming into focus brighter than before. Red staining around the perfect curve of his mouth. Staining pale, unblemished skin. Alec looked as perfect as always, yet nothing short of monstrous.

Suddenly, he twisted your neck with his hands, and you felt your neck crunch under the force. A gurgled groan ripped through your throat. It wasn't right. The sharp piercing pain of your bones.

"Ah ah ah, it's okay. I know. Listen to me. I know, but physical pain is temporary. Let me tell you a story, hm? My sister and I used to play in the woods outside our home. I suppose to you, it'd look like a little hut made of wood, sticks, and mud. Very little of us had something with such stability as concrete. One day, Jane fell. The woodland has so many dips and bulges in the ground. Humans didn't have an impact on the greenery back then. Humans were like fawns back then, trying to find their legs-"

He suddenly yanked again, and their was another crunch and more sticking sensations into the vulnerable flesh deep in your neck. You cried out again and he hushed you before continuing.

"Twisted her leg. It wasn't broken, but she couldn't put her weight on it. My heart would flutter and jump in horror at that sound. Just another time the world was out to get us. I had the ability to make it all go away, if I tried hard enough. It wasn't easy but it was as strong as I allowed my will to be. With the touch of my hand, the pain would leave her. Not forever. But in that moment, I gave her time. I was special, but the story didn't end yet, not with me getting her help." He smiled. "An angel came to us. A guardian angel that had been watching us for a long time. I could see he wasn't like us. Too perfect. To ethereal. Like we were all tiny ants that he analysed for years and decided to reveal himself. He spoke with us and soothed us. Told us that one day, he'd give us a gift, but we had to be patient. That all of our pain and suffering would be worthwhile because something greater was in the cards for us. We just had to keep each other safe, and it'd be set in stone as good as. That our pain was gruelling but temporary." He paused. "Our gift was given a little premature from planned...but he was right, (Y/N)."

He yanked again. A crunch, more pain and then immediate relief, the pain fading. Your neck back in place. You let out a breath."I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bite you." His apology didn't sound entirely genuine. "Control is...a little difficult for me sometimes. Even at my age." He playfully smirked. "Lucky for you, you're gifted with cell regeneration, hm? You don't have to worry about death. Or maybe not so much lucky... you're still human. You don't know what it is to be free of humanity." He said. "You ought to stay still for a few hours until you're back to normal. Blood loss is a longer fix than a broken neck."

"Get out"

Though your voice was hoarse, it didn't lessen the impact. Not one bit. Jane didn't think it was possible to vampires to have panic attacks, yet what else could this be. Why was her chest so tight? She doesn't need to breathe. And though she can't sweat he skin feels clammy behind all her layers. She's a vampire, their brains go fast - she could finish a novel in five minutes, but this feels too fast. It's making her dizzy. It's making her sick.

"Please-" her mouth feels dry. Is she panting? Why does it feel like Felix is cracking her chest again? You two can get through this. You can move past this. The thought is the only thing keeping her semi-rational right now. "I can't even look at you right now. Please leave, Jane. I can't see you anymore" and god you look so broken. And she did it. Your skin looks sickly, at least seven shades yellower. And your eyes - so dull - are dragged down by the bags she gave you. Are you thinner? You look thinner, you look malnourished. Definitely unhealthy.

It's the shakey movement of your hand accompanied by a wince that pulls her from her intense observation. And she remembers what you want. She wants to stay - absolutely has to - but she can't ruin this even more. She needs to save this and even now she recognises that her being here will be detrimental to that. So she does leave.

Out the door, she sits on the floor and stares at the ceiling. Not that her eyes are recognising anything though. No. Her head is leaned back against the big double door to your shared chambers and all she can bring herself to do is listen intently to your heartbeat. You're still here. You're still safe.

You, on the other side of the door, can no longer bring yourself to stifle your own sobs at the betrayal. Your mate, your love, the one who promised to always protect you, had actually been the only vampire to hurt you. The only one you ever truly trusted. Though her gift is mental, the rough treatment had still hared you. But it was hard to tell what hurt more - the mental scar on the one on your heart.

That night you packed, leaving through the window. Were you as strong as them? No. But could trust Jane and be in the same place as her? Also no.

It was killing you just to be in that room, with all of them memories. All of them were now tainted, and now you could see all the similarities between her room and the dungeons.

Bag at your side mainly just filled with your previous belongings you couldn't part with, you climbed out the window only to be face to face with Alec. For fucks sake.

"You shouldn't be here," his tone was more concerned than accusing. Was he actually worried for you, though, or was he more bothered about his sister? that seemed like the more likely answer. "come. Ill walk you back" he takes the bag for you and begins to guide you gently back, hand delicately on your arm as if you were made of porcelain. He looked guilty. Remorseful even.

He led you back the longer way round as if he was giving you time. He even sat with you in the garden for a few minutes - until Jane cane storming through.

"There you are! Your heartbeat grew faint and the window was open and I-" and her hand are on your face. She stops speaking when you flinch back, heart dropping to her feet, until she feels you lean into her.

Damn mate bond and damn exhaustion because you let yourself fall into her. She can feel your heart rate speed up in fear but feels frozen when you make no effort to move away.

"Let's- let's get you to bed, yeah?" she turns her head, face frightened as she mouths a 'thank you' to Alec for keeping you here and safe. He just nods, head down as he shares part of her shame. A drop in the bucket compared to hers, though.

It was a few hours before the fight, and we were all standing in the clearing, well besides Edward who was with Bella. The wolves would be here soon. I was struggling, I could smell Bella's blood, it was making me thirsty. Jasper knew too, he was close to me, ready to hold me back from making another mistake. 

I was ready though, ready to kill some newborns, plus I'd be able to see Paul. As a wolf, I miss his face, and his eyes and his smile. Wow, I sounded like a love sick teenager. Brilliant. I'd come to the realisation, that our time apart had made me realise I was so in love with him. I hated to admit it, since I had never felt it. 

When the fight began I stopped caring about all that and focused on killing. It felt good actually, I liked punching something until it broke. Fighting the new borns was difficult though, I was struggling a little, I think they noticed I was the weakest. Due to my slip up a few months ago, I was still weak from drinking the animal blood. 

The wolves were here now, and new borns was shocked, they had never seen them before. It was great to see them fight. 

Soon there were only a few left, we were punching our way through the last when suddenly, one of the new borns knocked me, hard into a huge bolder. I was knocked to the floor, and everything hurt. I felt my skin crack along my limbs. I cried out in agony. 

The pain was so intense I had never felt my skin crack before, I had seen it happen to other vampires of course, but never felt it myself. Rosalie was by my side in seconds. 

"It's okay Y/N, it'll heal you'll be okay" She whispered stroking my hair. I noticed there was a wolf next to me too, I looked up and smiled, it was Paul. I reached over and he nuzzled into my hair. It made me feel calm. 

"The wolves need to leave" Carlisle suddenly yelled. Rosalie helped me up, and I hobbled towards my family. And one young vampire. 

"The Volturi are coming" Alice told me, I nodded, falling to the ground again, leaning my head against Esme. I lifted my top to see the damage, it was healing but there were obvious cracks starting from my hips going up to my shoulders. 

Jane, Alec, Felix and Demetri walk from the forest into the clearing. I smile at them, I also got along with them besides Jane. That little vamp was annoying. 

Carlisle was speaking to them, they were impressed we killed all of the new borns, of course they don't know of our alliance. Jane was surprised we did kill them, also she was annoying Bella was still human. 

Bella announced the date had been set which I didn't know. And then Jane noticed the young vampire. 

"She didn't know what she was doing" Esme yelled. I slowly felt my strength coming back. I could feel Alec feeling worried if I was okay. I smiled at him and nodded. 

Felix stepped forward to kill the little vampire. I could tell Esme was upset. I held her hand as I was still leaning against his leg. And the volturi left. 

"Y/N come with me" Carlisle spoke, holding his hand out to me.

"Where are we going?" I asked. 

"To Jacob Black's house, he was hurt. But Paul will be there" He smiled. 

"Think he wants to see me?" I asked. 

Edward piped in at that moment 

"He does, he was really scared when you were hurt"

I nodded and followed Carlisle, we sped to Jacob's house and he went into to treat Jacob. I noticed Paul standing with the others, there were so many more wolves now. 

He didn't smile at me, but he held his hand out, I smiled and took his hand. The warmth feeling so familiar. Before I knew it, his arms were around me, and I was resting my head on his shoulder.

"I thought I lost you for a moment" He whispered. I held on tighter, not too tight because I could probably hurt him. 

We pulled away from each other, and our eyes met. I missed him so much.

"I missed you too" He whispered. Did I say that out loud?

"I'm sorry, I was so spooked when I saw your red eyes, I won't lie this won't work if you hurt people" He said. I nodded completely understanding. 

"I'm so sorry I did hurt someone, I never want to feel without you again Paul, I won't hurt anyone" I say, smiling when I felt his hand tighten around mine. 

He smiled at me, and moved forward, I smiled back and closed the gap in between our lips.

Now this felt like magic.

"A wedding?" I repeated, Alice giggled bouncing up and down. 

"Yes a wedding!" She squealed and then bounced away. 

I had to admit I was excited, I had been to Carlisle and Esme's wedding, Jasper and Alice's and Rosalie and Emmett's. And now I get to go to Edward's and Bella's. I was excited and looking forward to it, I was also looking forward to not wanting to kill Bella all the time. 

I would be able to ask Paul if he would attend too! Once my eyes had gone back to normal, I had been using contacts while the red faded, it was fun, because I could use different colour contacts. Which Edward said was silly, but I liked having green and blue or brown eyes for a short while before I went back to amber. 

Paul was a bit hesitant around me at the moment, I don't think he quite understands how difficult it was for me to be around blood, crave it with every fibre of my being. I wish I could stop for him. Become human for him. I knew eventually it would become a problem, Esme suggested adopting one day so we could have a family. But the only way it would work, would be to have a child who becomes a vampire, other wise Paul and I would watch them die. And I knew Paul could only just about handle me being a vampire, let alone anyone else he cared for. 

I felt so sorry for him. And for me in a way. We couldn't have a normal life together. I still don't quite understand how I'm his imprint if I was born 100 odd years before he was born. Fate is weird. 

Suddenly. I was pulled from my thoughts, to see Bella smiling up at me. 

"Hey, Paul is outside" She smiled. I nodded, and stood up. Quickly, I put in my contact lenses. Blue this time, and rushed outside to see him, standing there. Handsome as ever in his scruffy shorts and sweat shirt.

"Hey" I smiled, leaning forward to kiss him cheek. He chuckled, and took my hand.

"Let's go for a walk love" I gripped his hand lightly, and let him take the lead. 

"Bella and Edward are engaged" I said, stepping over a small log. He nodded. 

"I know, Jacob told us. He isn't very happy" 

I frowned, of course Jacob wasn't happy. He was probably feeling heart broken. Poor kid. 

"Would you go with me? I mean, as my date, obviously" I giggled nervously. Paul smirked, but then frowned. 

"I don't know Y/N, there will probably be tons of blood suc- vampires there, right?" He asked, I frowned a bit at his almost comment. 

"A few yes, probably our cousins. there is only four five of them" I smiled, swinging our arms together. He nodded. 

"Will I get to see you in a fancy dress?" He asked, I smiled and nodded. "Maybe underneath it if you're lucky" 

If I could blush I would, I was being ballsy.

Paul however, did blush. Result. 

"I might make an appearance" 

I smiled, and did a little jump for joy. 

I can't wait...
