A few weeks ago we posted some sketches by Archibald Thorburn, a Scottish wildlife illustrator from the late 19th and early 20th century. Today we have drawings from 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐫 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐬 (London, 1883). Archibald Thorburn FZS, was a noted Scottish artist known primarily for his wildlife illustrations. While his finished work often included dramatic backgrounds, here we have watercolors made in the field across 30 years of work.
