Disney Branded Television Unwraps "Dasher" A Original Holiday Special From Disney Television Animation Coming To Disney Jr. In 2026.

The Annecy International Animation Film Festival to begin tomorrow, June 8th, in France. In honor of that Disney Branded Television has unveiled a slate of new and returning animated content for Disney+, Disney Jr., and Disney Channel.

Disney Jr. had a big focus in this PR, one of the announcements was "DASHER" a original animated special from Disney Television Animation slated for a 2026 holiday release on Disney Jr. and Disney+.

"Dasher" is a full-length CG holiday special inspired by Candlewick Press’ New York Times bestselling picture book “Dasher: How a Brave Little Doe Changed Christmas Forever” from author and illustrator Matt Tavares. This new special brings to life the magical story of Santa’s flying reindeer and how a brave little doe, Dasher, seizes her destiny.

Damien O’Connor (AppleTV+ "Eva the Owlet") serves as writter and director for the special, Bob Higgins ("Danger Mouse 2015", "Dino Ranch"), Kim Howitt, Natalie Osborne and Alix Wiseman serve as Executive Producers.

"Dasher" is produced by Trustbridge Entertainment, 9 Story Media Group, and Brown Bag Films in association with Disney Branded Television and Disney Television Animation.

First ship: oh wow. I mean way in the way back machine it was probably Eliza Doolittle and Henry Higgins (which says A LOT) but for what first brought me to fics and fandom it was Josh and Donna from the West Wing (which also says a lot)

Currently reading: Pulling Heartbreak Out of Hats (https://archiveofourown.org/series/3694795) which is Winnix + Tab which I NEVER would have thought I would go for (@lewis-winters did you rec this?) but I LOVE IT) and Starling House by Alix Harrow (technically but I haven't really started bc fanfic)

Currently watching: Homeland bc Damian Lewis but dear God that show is trash I'm watching it through my fingers and yet I can't look away what is going ON

Currently up to: I did actually do actual work for my work job for a hot second there, going to shower in a minute, then back to my WIP because it has taken over my whole life and that's fine by me
