I keep forgetting that these are reblogs now and getting confused when they don't show up in the notes . . . despite being the one to suggest the reblogs.
Yeahhh, Corvus is going to be doing his best, but he really has very little context for what exactly Skor's upset about.
At this point, Corvus is traveling with them for the foreseeable future. They can't foresee how fast that's going to change >.>
Everyone is so concerned about the kids. The worst thing that happened down there happened to Ram! The kids are fine! They didn't have much luck finding help for the egg, but they still heard about the miracle healer, so that's something. They're fine!
wait hang on I have the perfect image to go with that statement about Corvus being trustworthy

Look at that face. Why would you distrust that face. Never mind that he's using that face to lend credence to his fifth lie in like three days.
Skor is right to some degree about small enough kids, but yeah, none of THESE kids are quite young enough to be at that level. He doesn't know as much about human kids as Runaan does.
I know these are typos, and normally I wouldn't comment unless I had to for clarity, but this particular set of typos looks like maybe a phone fucked you over on top of that and I adore it- "they really are catting he faye of the world here". They're catching the fae of the world here? Well . . . stares at the human kids recruiting elves to their cause I mean KINDA YEAH. But realistically I think you meant something along the lines of battling for the fate of the world here, and yeah. I also agree the kids didn't fully realize the implications of what they were doing until well into the quest.
Skor doesn't have a lot of faith in anybody, unfortunately.
I did say he's a vicious bitch with his words sometimes. All that quiet means he hears things, and he knows enough to really hit people where it hurts when he snaps at them.
Corvus hasn't even managed to get as far as FIGHTING them, they keep stopping him before he can get there lmao.
Not permanently! And yeah, if he betrays them at this point, they don't want a body left to be found.
I mean, to be fair, setting one's mental health aside for the sake of a job is . . . kind of necessary in jobs like theirs.
Yeah, he lost his planned future, and he'll never get quite the dream he had before. But he and Callisto will manage to forge a new one by the end of all this.
I think he actually has, honestly. He won't get the future he planned, but he's okay with the one that he has - he hasn't quite realized there's hope for something more just yet.
Yeah, everyone's feelings about the Dragonguard are going to be complex, but I think Skor, Runaan, and Ethari will be holding the strongest grudges. If they didn't run, then the other elves will likely be mostly feeling guilty for blaming them for a mistake. But those three will be judging them harshly for their parenting choices in the seven years prior, too.
Skor never got the chance to have his own kids early in life but he has opinions about others' parenting, and he's been increasingly annoyed by those two every year since they left Moonshadow Forest.
He's not subtle, but it did almost work by hitting Runaan right where it hurts the most.
Runaan does believe in freedom of speech - for Everyone, lmao.
How Skor responds to Corvus saying the wrong thing will depend heavily on which of the kids can hear him. Also though, Corvus is going to be making an active effort not to say much at all around Skor, wary of the consequences, so yk. There's that.
They are back! And Runaan is just sort of slowly resigned to the fact that he's feeling dadly towards all of them now.
Thank you! It's growing on me after giving it some time to sit and rereading it later fully finished. There's always space for minor edits in anything, no matter how good it is, so I'm getting less worried about it.
I'm still exhausted, but I took a nap and I'm on my way out for one more day before I can get some good catch-up rest in. I'll be okay. ;)
Different Path Taken Ch19 P1: Runaan and Skor's Discussion
I'm not as happy with this section as I have been with some of the other tough ones, and I haven't quite isolated what the problem is. It might end up going through some bigger edits? I don't know, I kinda wanna just be done with it, since while it feels clumsy, it did go over what I wanted it to do.
Skor wasnât far away when Runaan found him. He didnât even need to track prints through the snow, as the other swordsman was sitting on an outcropping of rock within sight of the cave entrance, eyes fixed on the human village below. Runaan made sure to crunch a bit of snow on his approach, and saw Skor glance at him, so he wasnât startled when Runaan sat down on the rock beside him.Â
âHow stable are you?â Runaan asked softly, without looking directly at him, just looking out of the corner of his eye.
Skor sighed through his nose. âHeâs coming with us, isnât he.â
âI asked first.â
âThatâs a yes.â Skor rubbed his forehead tiredly, and when Runaan looked a little closer, he winced internally at the exhausted lines around his eyes and the tight pupils. He wasnât panicked anymore, but this was taking a toll on him.Â
Runaan sighed, not bothering to contradict him, and cast his own eyes down to the village. He spared a moment to hope Rayla - and those he had sent with her - were doing well, and the humans had found some help for the egg. âIt seems the most viable option going forward.â
âWe canât trust him.â Skor growled. âYou know better than anyone, Runaan. Humans canât be trusted and that one works for her.â
Runaan tilted his head at him. âAnd what makes the princes so different?â
Skor pressed his lips into a thin line and shook his head. âNothinâ. Small children donât have higher morals, they have needs and people who fill them, and human children grow up slower than ours in that way. Right now, thatâs us, so of course Ezran wants to help. It might even work for a few years. But once he goes home, is surrounded by adults that hate us the way they do for enough years? I doubt it will last. Callum is old enough tâ have his own values, but he wonât be the one on the throne that could actually harm us.â
Runaan frowned a bit and looked back down to the village, where he had sent them, entrusting the future of the world to the boys Skor now spoke of with such skepticism. âI donât think either of them are young enough to be in that state of mind,â He said carefully. âWhile itâs true that human children mature . . . slower, Ezran should be around the same mindset as Rayla was when I took her in. She was more than capable of this kind of planning and reason - as you well know.â
Skor shook his head. âDoes it matter? Weâll do this, and itâll be a reprieve for a few years, if it works. Itâll save our home from Zubeia, at least. I donât doubt their intentions now. I just . . . donât trust them to keep them. Especially back in Katolis once itâs over, with her counsel.â
âPerhaps,â Runaan conceded, reluctantly, after a moment. âBut while she is vicious to us, she is a general in a war. We have never been given a reason to believe she would turn on her own people, and these are her own nephews. I do not believe she would give Corvus orders that would lead to their harm.â
âLike your friends would never have abandoned their posts or their daughter?â Skor asked, and the words struck Runaan so close to the heart that he couldnât even process the tone that they came with. He flinched involuntarily.
He didnât grit his teeth, but it was a near thing, and he groaned softly into his hands as he rubbed the stress lines from his own face. âThat was different.â
âYes, it was,â Skor growled. âWe knew them better than we know her. What makes ye think we can trust her more than we trusted them?â
Runaan growled right back at him. âI am not saying we should trust him, and certainly not her. Even if she would turn on her nephews, the tracker may not be willing to harm them. He knows he canât fight us. We keep him with us, keep him close, to keep an eye on him. If he stays true to his word, he may be an asset.â
âAnd when he doesnât?â
âWe put him to sleep, and drop him as far off our trail as we can, and leave.â Runaan said, meeting his burning golden eyes again. âIf he continues to chase after that, you and Ram may deal with him as viciously as you choose.â
Skor held his gaze for a long minute, searching, before finally giving a huff and looking back down at the village, his shoulders dropping in concession.
Runaan kept looking at his profile, and sighed again, softly. He placed a gentle hand on his friendâs shoulder, and Skor leaned away from it for a moment before settling, pushing back against the weight of it instead. âI know how difficult this is.â He said. âBelieve me, I understand what I am asking of you.â
Skor shook his head. âItâs whatâs best for the mission.â He replied, voice brittle. âWhat it does to us is secondary.â He looked over at Runaan through his hair and acknowledged, softer, âI lost my voice, but you lost four lives to her. Thatâs far worse.â
Closing his eyes at the memory of the elves he had been forced to abandon inside the caves, Runaan took a deep, even breath, and shook his head. âI will not quantify suffering.â He said after a moment. âYou lost a life, too, in a way. The life you should have had.â
The thought hung in the air between them for a moment, both well aware that if things had turned out differently - if Skor had not lost his voice, and his pride had not been killed under Runaanâs command - he would likely have retired several years ago. He would not be in Katolis at all.
âIâve made my peace with that.â Skor said softly. âHave you?â
Runaan blinked at him. âHave I made my peace with what?â
Skor glanced at him through his hair. âLosinâ the life you should have had.â
âWhat are you . . .â the question died in Runaanâs throat as Skor tilted his head towards the village below, the implication from before pressing in like blades around his ears. He laid them back a little defensively.
âYou set all your plans aside for two elves whoâve gone on tâ betray you.â Skor pointed out softly.Â
Runaan rubbed the marks across his nose, closing his eyes against the darkness pressing in from his sides. âYou know as well as I do the Dragonguard had no choice in leaving,â He said slowly. âWhat was I supposed to do? I had been a part of Raylaâs life since she was born. Was I to leave her with someone else?â
âThatâs not what I mean.â Skor said, tilting his head to look at Runaan around the hair that fell over his face. âThat was seven years ago, anâ sheâs only fifteen. They didnât have a choice about leavinâ? They left tâ protect her? They threw her life away along with the rest of us when they ran. Saved their own skins instead.â
âSkor-â
âWeâve all a right tâ be angry with them for that,â Skor pressed. âBut even before that, Raylaâs only fifteen. Sheâll remember more of her life with you than with them. Sheâs practically grown, and they did what, sent letters? Thatâs not parenting, and you know it. They dropped that on you, anâ never let ye take the title ye deserve for the responsibility ye took, too selfish to let her have a family they werenât a part of.â
Runaan flinched, hand dropping from Skorâs shoulder and covering his own face as he grimaced. âThat doesnât - Skor, I canât deal with this right now,â He said desperately. âShe is their daughter, she is the one who suffers the most from what theyâve done. Her feelings on the matter come first.â
âThatâs my point.â Skor shifted his weight onto his opposite hip to turn a little more towards Runaan, arching his brows pointedly. âYouâre the only adult in her life that always puts her first, except Ethari, and honestly, my friend, Iâm not as sure as you are that heâd choose her over you.â
He would. Runaan was more than confident of that. He grimaced at the very thought of making him choose, though, and shook his head.
âIâm not sayinâ ye should talk to Rayla about it.â Skor said. âItâs not her job tae take care of you. But I knew them, too. Ye do have other friends, not all of us willinâ to fuck you over for seven years and end it with a stab in the back.â
Runaan flinched again and snapped. âAlright, yes, I am angry! I am confused, and frustrated. I do not understand what changed, I trusted - I loved them as my brother and sister, and I canât - I donât understand why they would betray us like this. But I cannot deal with this right now. I must do what I can to minimize the damage from what theyâve done, to Rayla and to our peopleâs reputation in the eyes of the dragons.â
âYouâve been cleaninâ up after those two your whole life.â Skor observed softly.
Runaan grimaced. âThat will no longer be an issue after this, will it?â He said bitterly, and then narrowed his eyes at Skor. âAnd you are deflecting.â
Skor wrinkled his nose at him and lifted his lip to show one chipped fang in halfhearted spite. âI donât wanna talk about it.â
Runaan showed his own fangs right back, heart aching at the memory of when that fang had been chipped, but appeased when Skorâs mouth closed again under his show of dominance. âI will not force you,â He said anyway, a little wry after Skor had done exactly that to him. âBut know that I am here if you need it. I know, better than anyone, why this is difficult for you, and I share your concerns.â
âItâs whatâs best for the mission.â Skor repeated reluctantly, and groaned softly as he leaned back on his hands, raising his face to the sunâs heat and closing his eyes against its light. âRunaan, if he says anythinâ else about that womanâs honor -â
âI will not restrict his right to speak,â Runaan said, but shrugged when Skor scowled. âBut I will not restrict yours, either. If he offends you, respond as you wish, just - verbally. We donât resort to violence until he does.â
Skorâs eyes remained shut but he nodded slowly. âFine.â
He would not have returned to the field, and Runaan would not have allowed him to stay there, if he werenât capable of stabilizing even under circumstances that brought up plagues from his past. Runaan accepted this answer and looked back down to the village below. He took note of a small group of people - four - one smaller than the other three - leaving the well-trodden path towards where he and Skor sat up on the slope. âThe children are returning.â
âThen we should do the same.â Skor said, sounding far calmer than he had when Runaan first approached him, at least, and nodded with eyes open when Runaan looked at him again. They both stood up and dusted the bits of snow off of themselves, and took a few breaths to clear their minds after the discussion theyâd had. Skor returned to the cave, ducking inside with only a glance at Runaan. Runaan remained by the entrance, waiting for the children to return.
For all they werenât all his children, he couldnât help his growing concern for the human boys, and he had known Ram since he was quite young as well. They were all his responsibility.
He shoved Skorâs words from earlier out of his mind. Raylaâs needs came first. He knew what he had to do about his friendsâ betrayal, and processing his reaction to it could come later, when he had less on his plate and could justify devoting precious energy to doing so.

Hey dear! I hope that you have a good time! I want to make a request, but please delete it if you don't feel like doing it.
I saved that request in the notes and been waiting for you to open them đ
For request
First fight with brother (any of your choice) and one of them (I mean MC or that brother) thinks that it's end of relationship (because never had anything serious), but they reconciled in the end. I want some heavy angst with happy ending. MC can be GN if that is OK.
If you don't mind you can do for Mammon, but feel free to choose another one if you don't feel like write for him. Or if that would be better to write as headcanons for all the brothers. That's up to you!
I haven't been doing requests for ages. Please don't hate me if there is something wrong! I've read the rules, and I hope I haven't missed anything.
Anyway, sorry for long ask. And thank you for your writings!
(I forgot to look if you did anything similar, and remembered it at the end of writing that ask. Sorry if you already did something like that!)
Hey babes †I did end up doing HCs for all of them because I thought it would be cooler (or more like I know someone is gonna request separate fics for all of them if I dont and I'm saving myself that trouble lol) I still hope you like it ! †also this got SUPER LONG so its under a cut
Warning: angst -> happy ending-ish
THE BROTHERS in a fight with MC and thinking that theyâre over (yikes)
Lucifer:
Everyone always says Lucifer is quick to lose his cool but heâs honestly been nothing but patient with you. He may have hinted at several things he doesnât condone and he definitely has that âlookâ, you know the disappointed dad look, but he has held back a lot so as to not ruin the beautiful relationship you have with him. Everyone snaps, though, and when he finally did, it was ugly. He did NOT call you names, but oh he didnât. He went straight for your feelings and pointed out every mistake you ever made for as long as heâs known you. Ouch. In his defense, you werenât nice either. The argument ended nasty and âI hate youâs!â were definitely thrown around, but none of them were meant, right? Goodness, he doesnât know. After you left, he threw himself on his bed, literally, and just stared at the ceiling. His anger slowly fled away and he began to feel⊠guilty. Not necessarily because of the argument itself, but because he delivered some low blows and he knows that. Are you over? Done with him? You havenât texted or called or talked⊠youâve been actively avoiding him and he doesnât like that, but his pride is such an issue, goodness. He canât straight up apologize, that dickhead, but heâs sending you flowers and standing in front of your door with a sad face that says it all.Â
âForgive me? I made reservations at your favoriteâs? We can talk over a nice dinner?âÂ
Mammon:
Mammon is known to get mildly agitated over the silliest things, letâs be real. Heâs also quick to revert to the âare you dumb?!â argument, which is never effective. But he loves you and he would do anything for you so even if you do do something that he deems âdumbâ, he usually bites his tongue. Doesnât mean that doesnât get on his nerves, though, and he definitely has a short temper, although people tend to overlook that. You just managed to push his buttons today and he used the âare ya stupid?!â argument, to which you obviously defended yourself, and rightfully so. This ended in a massive screaming match and him saying âThen leave! Ainât nobody keepinâ ya with me!â He regretted it the minute those words left his mouth and you could see his eyes grow wide in shock at his own words, but that didnât mean you stayed. âMC!â he tried running after you immediately but you were faster and honestly, who can blame you? He fucked up, and he knows it, and he feels terrible about it. Honestly, heâs crying just at the mere thought of you taking his words seriously and he canât⊠he canât bear to lose you, you know? Whatâs he gonna do? Youâre the light of his life, as pathetic as that may sound to someâŠ. So he wonât let you run away. Homie will hunt you down and beg for forgiveness.Â
âPlease, MC! Forgive me! Iâm dumb, not you!!! Donât leave meâŠâ Donât leave him. He will continue crying.Â
Leviathan:
His constant need to put himself down is frankly, quite annoying. To you anyway. But you put up with it and just reassure him that, at least to you, heâs the most amazing demon that ever existed. Itâs just facts. But a person only has so much patience, right? You canât always spend your days trying to lift him up when all he does is dig himself a bigger hole. Who has the emotional time for that? You sure donât. âOh my God, Levi! Shut up! I canât take it anymore!â Followed by âSee! Youâre just like everyone else! Leaving me!â and then you slamming the door to his room shut. Itâs frustrating and understandably so. It makes you feel awful that you canât even make your own boyfriend feel good about himself and get at least a little bit of self confidence and itâs so, so, so very draining to have to constantly listen to that. At this point, itâs affecting your own mental health and you just⊠you just canâtâŠ. But Levi canât lose you because he knows youâre right. He has to work on himself if he wants to keep someone as amazing as you with him and thatâs why heâs crawling back to you now.Â
âLook I⊠I know youâre right⊠Iâm sorry. I promise Iâll ⊠Iâll try. For you.â
Satan:
For being the Avatar of Wrath, you always admired Satan for his ability to keep cool. He prefers the relaxed and easy going life much more than the type of life people expect him to live, and you respect that. That doesnât mean his constant need to one up Lucifer, through whatever means necessary, didnât bother the hell out of you, though. You tried talking to him about it once or twice in a calm manner, but you always got the same answer âPfft.. itâs Lucifer. Who cares?â And it never sat right with you. Just today he decided to pull a prank on the eldest and you had enough, standing in front of Lucifer and letting the bucket of cursed green slime land on you instead, to everyoneâs shock. âWhat are you doing?!â Now that youâre thoroughly green from head to toe, you were also beyond pissed. âWhat am I doing?! What are YOU doing?!â But Satan matched your anger tenfold, accusing you of favoring Lucifer over him and oh! âYou probably got an affair with him, too!â Which was a stupid thing on his part, but it looked like it the way you defended him. Anger doesnât even begin to describe the emotion you felt running through you and had it not been for Lucifer, you probably wouldâve physically fought Satan for such a dumb accusation. Lucifer took you to get cleaned up and lifted the course, giving you your natural skin and hair color back within a few days and plenty of scrubbing, and Satan felt like shit. Youâve always been there for him and, rationally speaking, he didnât have a reason to doubt your loyalty to him, but he just canât help but feel insecure beside LuciferâŠ. He decides to come apologize anyway, a deep blush on his face and guilt in his eyesÂ
âIâm⊠sorry for accusing you. It wasnât my right to speak out of anger and jealousyâŠâÂ
Asmodeus:
How can anyone fight with the Avatar of Lust? Seriously, the guy is super easy going and he loves pretty much everyone. Not as much as himself, but almost. You on the other hand⊠you didnât. Well you didnât NOT love him or yourself, but you were just⊠you. You didnât spend 4+ hours in the bathroom trying to get ready when you knew you were only going to the kitchen down the stairs. Like?? Although you never brought it up to Asmodeus, he constantly bothered you about skincare and what foods to eat and what not to eat, etc⊠Itâs quite annoying, honestly, and at some point you just gave him a passive aggressive âOkay, whatever. Can we move on now?â To which he didnât take lightly. He was still nice and sweet, trying to convince you that at least one of these things will make your skin glow brighter than a unicornâs ass but you just had enough. âCan you stop?! Youâre indirectly saying Iâm ugly without that shit ton of product in my face and a diet that would make me starve before it helped me! If you want a skinny VS angel that barely holds onto their skeleton, get one!â It was more hurt and frustration speaking than anything, but your outburst still shocked him and he was taken aback for a moment. And then you ignored him for a week straight and as someone who thrives off of attention, especially the kind he gets from you, he canât handle that! So he showed up in your room in sweats and a tshirt and messy hair and no product on his skin.Â
âYouâre right⊠weâre all naturally beautifulâŠ. Wow that⊠that really hurts to say MC but can you forgive me?âÂ
Beelzebub:
Oh the sweet, sweet angel. Heâs far from innocent and you know that. We all know that. But for this story, I will give him the benefit of the doubt. His reliance on Belphegor is just really⊠annoying. Belphegor this, Belphegor that. âBelphie used toâŠâ or âBelphie saidâŠ.â or âone day when Belphie and IâŠ.â Like why does everything have to include his twin? Itâs so annoying and so rude when your significant other is right here !!! and planning their own future with you, Beel, thanks. It makes you feel less than and like Belphegor will always come before you. It makes you feel like shit, quite frankly, and who is to blame you? âHey MC did I tell you what Belphie---!â âNo! Shut up! I donât care! Itâs always about Belphie! The day you come to me and donât let that name drip from your tongue is the day Jesus comes back to save me and we both know that will be never! Iâm tired of always being stuck with Belphegor! We are not equals!â Granted, you shouldnât have yelled and Beel was more than confused at your outburst, but you wouldnât talk to him anymore after that so he left you alone. He thought you may need an hour or two, maybe a day tops, but that day turned into a full week and he even lost his appetite just because he knows youâre angry with him. Itâs been a week, does that mean youâre over? His heart aches just at the thoughtâŠÂ
âIâm sorry for bringing Belphie up⊠I donât want you to feel less than, MC. You mean a lot to me and so does Belphie, but youâre not Belphie and I need to learn thatâŠâ
Belphegor:
Honestly itâs a miracle he hasnât lost his temper at you yet. Well, he partially blames it on his own laziness because if being angry or getting upset didnât take so much energy out of him, maybe he wouldâve snapped by now lol, but he tries really hard not to because he thinks your relationship with him after everything is pretty good, considering yall kiss and snuggle and fuck on a regular basis. But anyway, thatâs exactly the issue. Considering everything, youâre still holding *that* against him. Itâs never direct either, which makes it worse. Itâs always said in a joking manner and something like âhaha look itâs just like that one time you killed meâ or âBeelâs grabbing that ham like you grabbed my throatâ or âI remember seeing jesus for a moment thereâ and it agitates him. It makes him so angry, and he finally snapped. âI know I fucked up MC! Stop holding it against me! What do you want? A medal of honor? A survivor's certificate? Maybe a pat on the back for developing some sort of Stockholm syndrome that made you come back to your abuser?!â And then he left. And you may have cried both from confusion and your own anger, he isnât quite sure. Itâs just soâŠ. Aggravating. He canât deal with it. He knows it was a mistake spurted by his own insecurities and survivorâs guilt which ultimately led to his hatred but please, stop holding it against him.. He canât keep putting up with it from the person heâs grown to love. Heâs the one ignoring you and he wonât budge either because heâs a stubborn ass, but maybe if you come up firstâŠÂ
âIâm sorry for yelling at you⊠Iâm just so tired for it being held against me⊠I love you, and you should know that, and I do feel guilty about what happened.âÂ
