Still here!

Lots going on recently, in between long stretches of Being a Bum.

The job I interviewed for that I wasn’t sure about?  THE NEXT DAY, someone else from the company spilled the beans to a former coworker of mine (who had been looking at a similar position) that they’d selected me.  Because I’m socially retarded, my first reaction was “OH FUCK... but I’m taking this with a grain of salt.”  By the end of that week they formally offered me the position.  After thinking about it and talking things over with the husband unit, I decided to go for it.  They’re offering even more money than I asked for and the job is almost exactly what I wanted.  More $$$ will help when I go looking for a new car for my new, longer commute.  :-)  I start in a week and a half.

Getting dicked around with unemployment - if you worked in Illinois and your employer pays out remaining vacation time, you cannot get unemployment for that pay period.  By the time this shit is straightened out I’ll probably be employed again anyway.

Almost all of my guildies on Shadowlands resubscribed to SWTOR recently, so we’ve been doing Ops and PVP a lot recently.  And that “progression raiding group” I was in for like a week?  Crashed and burned in spectacular fashion.  Endless drama, ignore lists, blocking, etc.  But the band is back together - so to speak - and I’m much happier with a casual group anyway.

Clearing out my DVR!  It’s down to <90% full for the first time in ages - I even went SWTOR-less for 3 whole days! Together, the husband unit and I continue our catch-up on Flash, Arrow, Anthony Bourdain, and now Legion (HOLY HELL THAT SHOW IS SO GOOD EVEN IF I’M CONFUSED 80% OF THE TIME.)  On my own, I’m also working on Agents of SHIELD, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Conviction, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Whose Line is it Anyway, and season 2 of Fargo.  Tore through Emerald City - I enjoyed it but a second season is apparently a long shot.  Still have lots and lots to go: The Expanse (both seasons), Dark Matter (season 2), Better Call Saul (seasons 1 & 2), Halt and Catch Fire (seasons 2 & 3), 12 Monkeys (season 2), Taboo, Victoria, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, probably more I’m forgetting.  I am a digital hoarder.

On the subject of digital hoarding: my Big-Ass Makeb Project is still in the pipeline.  Along with covering chapters 10-16 of KOTFE with appropriate love-interest reunions (and Gault!).  I tend to go in fits and starts with my tumblr posts and I’ve been in an “off” period lately.  But the adventures of my toons are continuing!
