feel like this is a good time to mention cotard's solution has always been soulcore to me. he wants to make his murder look like a suicide because it's not him he's killing. it's not his life, he's not the victim. and he's forsaken the comparisons to the face that he's stolen, he's dirtied the hands that don't belong to him.

somebody's got to go, to be the sacrifice in this endless war. somebody's got to stay, to be the one to try and make the peace treaty. what a contradictory existence, an existence that isn't his at all.
