I'm on my TMA relistening nonsense and only just noticed on the third run through the artistry of Tim and Jon's confrontation being in the episode called Binary. The episode with the message that nothing in humanity is that clear cut and that the edges will hurt if you try to cram yourself into dichotomies, pitting the two most frictioned characters against each other and having them realize that they may be something more complicated than either a resentful employee of a lunatic boss or the scheming potential murderer and his fearful victim. That, and the feeling of being trapped, jumping out of the statement and into the afterward as they realize definitively that no one can quit or be fired. It's just...a very, very good episode, in spite of being deeply unpleasant to listen to.

I will definitely be relistening to it a fourth time at some point #also I've finally realized that it's Spiral #Sergei's painting of his situation as a sharp maze his mind is trapped in + the narrator's constant doubts about going mad #it's an extremely ugly side of the spiral that we rarely get to see because most of the Spiral stuff is Michael and he's funky #don't get me wrong I love Michael but #madness and losing control is such a visceral type of fear #also though Tim and Jon. ough. oughh #they're so. they both deserved to just snipe at each other for a decade as colleagues #and be mildly annoyed with each other #not....All Of That #oueueueue
