Anyways I finished A Complicated Kindness by Miriam Toews a few days ago and one thing that I appreciated as someone of partial Mennonite heritage is that Nomi/the protagonist bakes a One Two Three Four cake which is also the staple cake recipe in our house sofor all we know we could own the same Edna Staebler cookbook, this book in general has made me personally realize more of how much Mennonite culture is linked to my upbringing which is cool :)
