Every time I tell people about my strategy of just going for a shakeout run any time my joints get too tight, they act like I have completely lost the plot and yet!! Every time! It works!!
#my theory on this is that#(a) it’s a quick way to warm up basically all of my muscles#(b) it moves through more of my ROM than walking#(also uses more of my jumpy/fast twitch muscles which I’m naturally better with)#and (c) it doesn’t use any of my external hip rotation rlly and doesn’t go anywhere near my internal rotation end range#so my hip muscles can basically just work as stabilizers and not have to either#rotate my hip or get overstretched#also bc I basically end my workout at home#I’m much more likely to actually rehydrate + stretch/roll out#I was going to stay for stretch/roll out class tonight but honestly#this was my first class back that didn’t feel like *total* shit#and was still like#a lot of thinking abt basics 💀#and I rlly wanna go home eat food lay on the floor and go to sleep#maybe I will get a little writing in#perhaps#curio dances#janky ass bones#personal
