hi! happy holidays :) I've read ACOTAR last month & I was surprised to see this shipwar is so brutual. I don't get effected by spoilers when i read so I saw so many tiktoks, & just based on all the edits, I throught Gwyn & Azriel were a couple. Then I'm alsmost about to finish ACOSF, and there's still no Gwyn&Azriel? I commented on a tiktok of Gwynriel like did i miss something? And this lady (super condescending) was like yes! his BC. I say I read it. She asked me DID I READ THE 2ND HALF?

But I asked my bestie (sjm fanatic) if this happened in HOFAS? Bc i know ab the crossover. She looks at me like i'm crazy. I go back to this gwynriel on tiktok and explicitly ask like "where does it say Gwyn and Azriel are a couple or mates" and she tells me "oh it's foreshadowing" SmH

I'm sorry this Gwynriel literally asked you if you read the second half of the bonus chapter ?? LOOOOL that's so funny. They think anyone who doesn't understand where gwynriel comes from just steadfast is an elriel or hates gwyn. When most casual readers literally have no clue what they're talking about either.

Idk why they think SJM was only speaking to them when she was leaving these so called "Gwynriel crumbs and foreshadowing" like?? They are so condescending, acting like only they are capable of picking up on "subtle hints" like first of all....

SJM ain't subtle. She is cheesy and cliche and a firm believer in love and happily ever after. Nothing she has ever written has surprised me. Not once. She does have good plots and intricate world building, but when it comes to her couples, they are predictable because of how she sets the story up.

When I read TOG did I know Aelin was going to end up with Rowan? No. But I had a pretty good idea once Rowan was introduced that OH I see where she's going with this because SJM did plenty of buildup, she didn't just write Aelin skipping from Dorian to Chaol to Rowan in 3 pages in a bonus chapter.

When I read CC, I knew immediately that Bryce and Hunt were endgame. I did think Hypaxia and Ruhn were gonna be a thing, but by book 2 when they introduced Lydia, I knew Night/Day would prevail. Wasn't surprising to me in the slightest.

When I read ACOTAR, I thought Tamlin was the one - until we were introduced to Rhys. Immediately after their first meeting, I knew he would be endgame,

It's not hard to grasp. SJM is again, not subtle with it.

Gwynriels are always barking at people like they think they're prophets of SJM or something because they strung together 3 different "clues" from 16 different books. They always cite SJMs other romance switchups, forgetting the fact that we know endgames basically as soon as a character has been introduced.

Gwyn HAS already been introduced. And yet, nothing. No chemistry no conversations no interactions that are even borderline romantic with Azriel. This is while they ignore the straight up in your face Elriel scenes that are happening btw.

It's always "there is foreshadowing" while ignoring the black and white text stating a different thing on the page. Do they not understand elriel have tons of foreshadowing too? It's just why would we cite that when we have actual romantic moments?

Just another day,another reader led astray by the fandom lmao. You don't need to take a magnifying glass and go Sherlock Holmes on acotar to figure out the next couple. Unfortunately, that's the only way people claim Gwynriel exists, so they have developed this "I'm just a better reader" attitude when really it's like are you actually OUR LORD AND SAVIOR SJMS chosen one, or are you just dreaming?

Lyric by lyric it calls to me that it is a song about him and his relationship with Rhysand and Feyre [Intro] "I wanted you to know, I've learned to live without it And even though it's colder now, I no longer feel surrounded And you never listened to me, and that's the thing I tell the others You were my harlequin bride, I was your undercover lover, but no"

This describes how Tamlin and Feyre's relationship was both genuine but also built on the false pretense of breaking the curse. Feyre is the "harlequin bride" here, and the "undercover lover" bit feels like it can fit both Rhys and Feyre in regards to Tamlin being one for them.

[Verse] "I'm caught up on the person I tried to turn myself into for you Someone who didn't mind the push-pull parlour games Someone who wasn't always cryin' on the journey back Someone who didn't feel the low blows either way Thought I was waitin' for you, when all along It was you with the countdown kill switch And it was me with the blindfold on" This reflects how both Tamlin and Feyre tried to change and couldn't, their inability to communicate and deal with their trauma causing their relationship to fracture. They changed. Feyre lost her humanity and became fae, whereas Tamlin became more overbearing, protective, and desperate to not let Prythian see him as weak, resulting in him locking Feyre up for what he percieved was her own good.

This one is self-explanatory.

Teferences to how Tamlin desperately tried to keep hold of Feyre, and how in the end both Feyre and Rhys weren't right for him because extenuating circumstances (Amarantha, their parents, Hybern) caused them to break apart.

This one is to both Rhys and Feyre, Rhysand for what happened between him and Tamlin and their parents which resulted in them becoming High Lords, and Feyre for burning Tamlin's court to the ground and manipulating him through Lucien in ACOWAR.

Also self explanatory, Tamlin's court in ashes, him still ruminating over Feyre and Rhys even in ACOFAS and ACOSF.

Like, the nesta/Azriel/Bryce one was kinda silly tbh but it... Fitted to the characters still, even made me feel nesta and Azriel friendship is real since acosf barely managed that!

based on the information in ACOSF, Nesta and Elain would go through the same complications Feyre had when she was pregnant with Nyx. they don't have the womb structure to push out babies with wings unless they have a magic fanny which of course because "fave" 😒

Well, there are 3 major issues with this whole Illyrian baby premise.

(and that's why, kids, if you retcon on book 5 on something important, make sure that it makes a little bit of sense)

If the Cauldron/Mother/The Cauldron's Swirling Eddies paired Feysand, Nessian and potentially Elriel and gave them mate bonds then perhaps it should've considered all the issues with inter-species breeding. What is the purpose of pairing incompatible species?

(Also, may I add something that isnt discussed, but it's kind of gross to imply that the Illyrians and their children literally tear apart their non-Illyrian mothers because Illyrians are supposed to reproduce exclusively with Illyrians? I am sorry, but it's a very WEIRD concept. It's even weirder because Drakon who is winged can have children with Miryam, who is in fact HUMAN still, and have no issues (gimmie a break with 'soft wings'), but the Illyrians are forever forced to only breed amongst themselves).

The other issue of course is Nyx is 75% Illyrian. So he is basically Illyrian, and of course the ridiculousness of the injunction that Feyre cannot have him in a natural environment in which he is supposed to be born--aka from her when she is Illyrian--is also crazy. 'It can hurt the baby' if she turns back into an Illyrian? I am sorry, Madja. What about killing the baby and the mother?

(Another side note--no Illyrian healers/doulas were consulted in the birthing of this kid? If I was gonna have a winged kid, you better believe that I'd want to talk to EVERYONE who's had a winged kid before me.

Hell, ask Azriel, because apparently he can just stuff Cassian's organs back in his body and 'hold' them in there, while Cassian is like commanding armies and smiting enemies.

Azriel would have a better idea of what to do in this case, than Madja)

Lastly, there is no guarantee that a 50/50 kid would be born with wings. Rhys wasn't. He can conjure them, but he doesn't naturally have them at all times. What is to say that a Nessian/Elriel babies would be different?

Another gross thing about this whole thing is that Feyre, yet again, was completely sidelined. She is so dim, she couldn't bother to pick up a book? Talk to a couple of healers? Do some research on what she might be carrying? Her only comment was 'But the Bone Carver didn't show me a winged baby". GIrl, you really gonna believe a Death God who's been willingly sitting in Prison for 5K years as your primary source of baby info? He is your OBGYN? You couldn't bother going and meeting with some Illyrian women? Talk about--what it's like to have a baby like freakin' Cassian?

I swear this fucking book makes my brain hurt.

Anyway--bottom line is this. We ain't ever gonna hear about Illyrian baby birthing again. That so-called storyline was done and over with, because you know, 2 sisters can't possibly resolve their issues with a good conversation and working together, nooooo, it has to be some ridiculous life and death thing. But it's been done, and just like Tamlin's stone heart and a bunch of other weird things, it will be forever forgotten.

PS Also, did anyone congratulate Nesta on becoming an Oristian and killing Queen B? Didn't think so.
