It’s easy to see why Louies are so fiercely devoted to him. Louis has been having a banner year between the long-awaited release of his documentary All of These Voices and the North American and UK/European legs of the Faith in the Future World Tour. And he’s done it all whilst looking the best he’s ever looked. Seriously. I look at him and immediately start singing that line from “Juice” about being not a snack but the whole damn meal."

Charles has always left Edwin little notes slipped between the pages of his favorite books, in his science equipment, places he knows Edwin loves. Just silly things—post its that say “hi Edwin :)”. doodles of Edwin with his nose stuck in a book. reminders to stock up on wolfsbane. but.

Then, post canon, Edwin tentatively starts dating people. And it’s ridiculous, because Edwin’s right there, all the time, but Charles..misses him a bit. And his heads a mess, and he can’t sort out what the hell he’s feeling most of the time, and whenever he tries to say any of it out loud it comes out rubbish.

So. He writes down some of the shit he can’t say right, and because he’s a coward, hides them so he doesn’t have to see Edwin’s face when he reads them.

then Edwin starts writing back.

Neat lilac blue little envelopes appear in Charles coat pockets. In his bag. Once, in his shoe? Some nights, Edwin will clear his throat and mention something from a letter, offhand, like they’re just picking up conversation, and Charles can pretend they are. That they always have talked about the basement, the belt, the nameless fear that chokes him every time Edwin walks out the door with someone else on his arm.

Sometimes he can’t. The words get stuck in his throat. Edwin’s not mad, he’s maddeningly, stubbornly kind about it, which is worse.

Some nights they trade. A secret for a secret. Charles learns about the novels Edwin used to hide under his mattress, about all the lonely years before Charles got there. About Simon.

Meanwhile, Edwin is losing his mind, because Charles has accidentally stumbled onto what was a fucking courting ritual in his time. Love letters were something engaged couples treasured for years, kept and reread over and over. (Edwin does. keep them in a special box, will take one out and trace the words, tuck it in his breast pocket for courage).

Edwin would rather have to reattach a limb again than lose Charles trust, all the dark and beautiful things he shares with Edwin only. He knows—knows Charles doesn’t mean to make him fall more in love with him.

Truly one of the most subtly hilarious moments of the season was when Colin saw ink all over Penelope's hands and went 'oh, what's this about?' and she went 'uh. . .I was writing letters?'

Miss Ma'am, to whomst? You don't have any friends you'd have to write to?? You don't like your family????

You know Colin was a smitten kitten indeed because he just went 'huh, makes sense, okay' instead of going 'but your only friend lives across the street and now I'm right here?'

while I expected lots of cute moments with bb-8 and pew-pew adventures in Poe Dameron: Flight Log (which, don’t get me wrong, I definitely did get and was very happy about!!) along with lots of cool ship specs and tech details—

what I wasn’t expecting (a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one) was several instances of incredibly heartfelt, evocative, and sweet introspections from Poe on his family, upbringing, philosophy / ethics, the resistance, and love 🥺 so many sweet characterization tidbits in this book, I really enjoyed reading it ♡

if you’re interested in reading it as well, I borrowed it (for free!) on internet archive which I highly highly recommend, it was such a fun read and it’s very easy & user-friendly to borrow books from them!

It’s giving, “Best believe I’m still bejeweled, when I walk in the room, I can still make the whole place shimmer, and when I meet the band they ask ‘do you have a man’ and I can still say ‘I don’t remember.’” It also gives, “I bent the truth too far tonight, I was dancing around it.” It’s, “Do you really want to know where I was April 29th?”

But. BUT. BUT!!!!!

it also gives: “I washed my hands of us at the club, you made a mess of me. I pictured you with other girls in love and threw up on the street.” It’s “I slur your name 'til someone puts me in a car, I stopped receiving invitations.”

it’s “don’t you ignore me, I’m the best thing at this party.”

On these nights, you know that there are facets of you that only glow in the dark.

I uh. I’m blushin. My eyes burn. I didn’t consider myself a ‘writer’ until a few months back. Reading this—from you? Meltin. I line tile. now one with grout.

I’ve always written! Always. But you’re only a writer if published right? See I am also dumb. and a coward. And writing a character I didn’t create terrifies me. Because then you can get it wrong? I didn’t make that voice how could I write it?! Fanfic?!! Never. Sacrilege. I’m not even a writer I wouldn’t defile…

BUT EMMRICH. I had to see him. I had to see more. And I wanted to show what I thought HAPPENED. I didn’t have an AO3 account. I worked on that for weeks. The hours would be embarrassing. But that was my first post on tumblr.com. Bless those first likes. I was seconds from deleting. And I would’ve missed all the friendship and community being a WRITER of fanfic of all things brought!! I love you all.

And it’s been so fun to share that and get to see other takes. I worried for nothing. There are no rules. We are all writers if we’re writing and it’s a glorious thing. I don’t know how to put it…but hmm. I love the writing and Emmrook community, sincerely. Earlier hangups scared me off fanfic when it’s all fun.

For the sake of possibly getting 🍀 going through a crisis, he wears it for the sake of being able to see. He struggles a lot because (correct me if I'm wrong cause its been a WHILE) he's actually far-sighted! However, when he doesn't have his glasses, he just wears contacts instead.

Jessamine. Jessamine. Friend! Darling would have somewhat of those rights but heaven forbid you pull that away for an hour, he will hold you on a death grip. This man wouldn't mind if they do it though, because he doesnt really need it and has his contacts, but... Well.
