there's a lot of talk about what's canon and what can be discredited on pitttwt coming from people who have convinced themselves that l*ngdon is thee main character and interpret scenes where he would rather talk to his arch nemesis over having to listen to mel talk about her sister as him being "head over heels for her"

#i agree that actor input isn't necessarily canon but my thing is you have to apply this line consistently #even to interpretations that you agree with #if it's not on the screen then it's not canon #at the same time i think the pitt kind of deviates from this because we know the actors have gotten a whole run down on their characters #and they know things that didn't and maybe won't ever come up in the show but still informs their performance #like is santos canonically a lesbian because isa said so? i agree with the lesbian reading of her but how's this different #from taylor hcing mel as asexual?#we know the writers are also v receptive so chances are this is what isa has discussed with them. or they have told her santos is a lesbian #so perhaps taylor has learned this from the writers as well (or suggested it)#it bothers me how hostile people are to mel being ace. i like her as ace and i also like her as allo. imo she doesn't like men either way #and accusing taylor of being ableist for thinking of mel as ace when she has put so much of herself into mel is a bit funny!#she's the reason mel is so autistic coded! she made the character you all love so much #you can disagree with the take and write smut fics about her i don't care. even if she's canonically ace bc it's fiction #people are just mad she's not fucking with the vision of their ship #there's also not a crazy abundance of characters like mel or asexual characters soooooo. just very weird behavior altogether #the greatest injustice that can be done to a female character is her not fucking a man i guess #also don't get me started on people implying mel is ugly and it'd be a win for her to get the hot guy. lol. lmfao
