For The People Who Are Still Alive...

Hey Portal Friends and Followers,

I hope you're all doing well! Lately, I've had something on my mind that I think it's time to share with you all. Over the past year or so, my life has taken some significant turns! Major events have included graduating from college, starting my career in Design Engineering, and getting married! Life has been an exciting roller coaster, and I'm enjoying all the fun new things.

However, among all the changes, I've also been contemplating my relationship with the Portal games and the Portal Fandom. Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been active on this blog for quite a while. The Testing Queue still goes out daily but, beyond that, I haven't been sharing new artwork or engaging as much. My YouTube channel, where I used to make Portal videos and build robots and props, has been on a long hiatus too. Everything Portal-related in my life just doesn’t seem as captivating as it used to be.

These days, when I think about Portal and all the things I used to do in the fandom, it conjures a strange feeling in me. On one hand, I still hold the story and characters dear, and I fondly remember all the fantastic fanart, interactions, and stories that I’ve seen as part of the fandom. But on the other hand, the fervor and eagerness I once had seem to have softened. It's like my passion has transformed from being a passionate superfan to a calmer and more passive enthusiast.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of transition in their fandom journey? If so, I'd love to hear how you dealt with it and any insights or suggestions you might have for me. Feel free to reply or DM.

These feelings have left me with a dilemma: what to do with my blog. I don't want to abandon it or delete it, but even refilling my queue is starting to feel tiresome. Plus, without active effort I'll eventually run out of posts to queue from my archive, so maintaining the queue alone is only a temporary solution. I've been toying with the idea of inviting someone who’s more active in the fandom to become a Moderator for the blog and keep it alive with fresh content, but I'm still uncertain about this option. If you have any feedback on that idea, please reply or DM.

So that's where I stand now. My life has taken me in a new direction and, while I still love Portal, I don't have the same time and energy to invest in the fandom as before. I'm eager to find a way to keep this blog alive in a way that feels authentic and will keep the content you all followed for going for the foreseeable future.

I’m a 20s something trans-girl who's only been on tumblr for over a year

I mostly just do reblogs, and just random stuff but I'll also post links to my fanfics so keep an eye for that! (Only been one so far, but lots of folks seem to enjoy it xD) Jesus Christ why didn't I notice this outdated section in my intro page after so many edits!

I've so far made two separate oneshots and one on-going overly ambitious snowgrave fic. (Currently on hiatus. Not canceled though, I'll continue it in the future. Check it out.)

Expect my fics to mostly be UT and DR fics... Same with posts.... Just a lot of UT/DR related reblogs and post, but you'll also see a few posts related to other games I like or things that catch my fancy. (E.G, I've reentered the doctor who fandom after like 4-5 years)

Aiming for the blog to be SFW but y'know, I'm still an adult and stuff. Might reblog stuff with swearing. May also reblog SFW posts from NSFW blogs/"Minors DNI or do not follow" blogs, but I don't usually follow these blogs and will likely not touch their risky stuff. TL;DR this blog be safe, can't guarantee the same from those I reblogged.

Also, I have a youtube channel. I made the pronouns essay and spent a lot of time researching for it.

I’m a trans-girl lesbian who goes by she/her pronouns.

I'm also neurodivergent (autistic specifically) so if I act differently/misunderstand things that's why. I'm sorry my brain just be running differently.

I've had to rewrite this section as my UTDR brain rot has changed and I'm less obsessed with Asriel getting a happy ending in Undertale. I still headcanon Noelle as a trans women though. Shipping discourse can be dumb at times and I don't hate on people for their ships (though that doesn't mean I'm not made uncomfortable by "problematic" ships see DNI.)

Mainly just ship Suselle. I think it's neat. Whatever specifics beyond that are in flux though. Also opened asks! (but don't really know what I'll do with them, and don't expect quick responses, especially bc I’m the shy type of trans-femme. Also, keep the discourse crap away from me.)

Haven't gotten a lot of asks so I just opened the anonymous ones. (Note: This is on thin ice. I may turn off anonymous asks if I change my mind and realize it's a mistake. I already turned off messaging from people I don't follow because I kept getting incomprehensible bot messages.)

If I ever reblog something that's "WIP "a mess of the original post's tags" it means I f--ked up and forgot to remove the wip tags when the post was in my drafts. Please let me know so I can fix it.

Standard DNI: (note realize it got too long with my explanations so I put the longer ones in a separate footnote post. You can find it at the bottom of the DNI list. TL;DR the footnotes are for nuance and crap.)

I: Don't be a bigot. E.G racist, xenophobic, Islamophobic, ableist, transphobic/a TERF, (that includes being exclusionary towards transmascs/femmes, enbys, or being some gatekeeping/invalidating transmed/truscum or whatever.) Same with aro/acephobia, intersex phobia, ect. TL:DR if you're bigoted towards a minority stay away and crap. I.1: This includes not denying Kris, Chara, Mettaton, Mad Mew Mew, or any other characters' trans identity if it's canonically in the text. (As in the pronouns that character is referred to.) If you accidentally slip up with pronouns every once in awhile you live. Headcanoning is cool as long as it doesn't erase any identities "Straight Tale/Rune" style.

II: If you're a Religious fundamentalist, Militant Atheists, or anyone who can't respect other people's religious/areligious beliefs. DNI. (Its ok to criticize bigoted/harmful religious people, or parasitic and abusive cults. Just don't interact if you say stuff like "All religious people of "X" religion are mentally ill/bigots/terrible.")

III: Look, I don't do the proship/antiship discourse/labels. At their worse, proshippers can be bunch of creeps, antishippers can be bunch of witch hunters, and the worse of both can be media illiterate harassers. I rather just call them as I see then instead of using the terminology of the terminally online. That being said, DNI if you ship "incest/pedophilia" as if nothings wrong with the situation. (E.G, Fontcest, Chasriel, Frans, Lancer/Susie,) (Once again fucking nuance and shit in the footnotes even if I feel like I need to rewrite them sometime.) III.1: This DNI (in most cases) does not cover Friskriel or Charisk, (as they are only incestuous under certain conditions.) Similar thing with Kralsei. Without spoilers, I feel like Ralsei's resemblance to Asriel is less related to him literally being some clone of Asriel or manifestation of Kris's familial feelings towards him. (For more elaboration/nuance, look at Footnotes 01 and 02) IIII.2: I'm allergic to discourse. Keep that shit away from me! This includes asks regarding "hey did you know individual X is problematic because [callout post]" at best and "citation needed" at worse because guess what I don't like having my day derailed due to the compulsive need to see if individual X is actually a terrible person or just a victim of a slanderous hit-piece. I try to vet blogs but I have my limits and can't search an entire blog's bibliography. Keep me away from drama it's like the plague I hate it and think it's stupid.

IV: Please tag your anti-ship or anti-character posts as anti-[shipname]/anti-[charactername], or I will likely block you, especially if you just tag the ship/character name. Dislike whatever characters or ships you want, but when I look at the Suselle tag I'm looking for everything but Anti-Suselle posts. (Footnote 03) IV.1: At the same time, I don't like seeing toxic entitled shipper behavior on my own dash, even if it's relating to ships I like. Continue this behavior and I'll consider blocking you because I don't like seeing that shit EITHER on my dash.

V: If your posts look like that of a porn bot I'll likely block you. If your blog looks like a bot in general (blank/empty blog, no pfp or title, acts like a bot) I will likely assume you are and block you.

updates [03/13/2023];

hello everyone!

apologies from the get go, for my silence. i know that this blog is pretty much run on a queue of various quotes / prompts / writing things / etc., and not even many people following... but to those that are here, following because you enjoy my work, i wanted to provide an update on what's going on with everything:

the update is much, much later than i had previously promised. this is due to some things that happened offline, and threw my mind [and - generally - everything] into a bit of chaos. it's been hard to find inspiration, so i was giving myself some breathing space. my hope and goal is to get the chapter done this week, since the following one is already completed. i had considered posting that, but i don't want to time-skip quite yet. i don't think it's fair to all of you who have stuck with me for... 8 years, if my math is semi correct. in the interim, i actually made this fun page for it [link also in the sidebar/drop down titled "check the page"]! my hope is to make one for every work i've posted / am working on [aka, WIPs and completed]. feel free to check it out! i hope you all like it [it's dark mode, and should be mobile friendly-ish].

untitled gd fic ⇨

if you check this blog's homepage much [i will not blame you if you don't], you will have noticed a new work was put under the right sidebar [dropdown menu on mobile]. this was titled "untitled gd fic," and i am happy to announce that i am ready to reveal some first insights! as with cdtg, a WIP page has been made. as much as I would love to share it, due to a title being... not there, the url is a bit choppy. so, to make it up a bit, here's a photo so you all can have a sneak preview:

this will be close to complete / mostly completed prior to uploading beginning

current ETA for uploads starting is may 2023 [forgoing more unforeseen life issues]

none of the bigger "archive warnings" for AO3 will apply [i.e. no non-con / major character death / etc.]* * only exception might be gore, but the plan is to not have extreme graphic details. think more criminal minds prior to it going to paramount+ and thus being able to show more.

when we are in april, my hope is to have the page itself available for everyone to check out. i am hoping to use these across the board

as said, these pages will be made for every fic. so, that includes mending bones and packed lunches and misplaced mistletoes. i will be putting links to these... somewhere. i have not gotten that far in my thought process. but, this allots a bit of time to actually work on things for this blog / towards my muse and writing inspiration, rather than just sitting and waiting.

one more thing [almost posted without mentioning this]: i will be linking to my main blog for a fic rec list. there, you'll find fics i've read and recommend for various fandoms. they were basically all wlw, but i don't know what else anyone would expect from me here. i will link both the mobile friendly edition, and the desktop version. i tend to prefer the desktop, but i know that tumblr mobile has become a lot more popular than when i first started here. i will note: i need to update it [has not been updated since... early february, i believe], but if you want something to read, check it out! my blog will also have a book rec page up eventually. that one takes a lot longer since that library is also expansive. if you want to go ahead and see recs now in the interim, here's the link to my blog's page with the direct links to said pages.
