sometimes being an octopath traveler fan means ill find myself randomly researching medieval art history. as you do
#im currently looking at interlace borders on like 11th century manuscripts and stuff#and really appreciating how they managed to work it into the games. and like other art periods too...#like theres the borders for travel banters chapter narration and the game over screens#and also like in the actual sprites... in in-game artwork architecture clothing etc...#really makes the games feel like they're actually taking place in medieval* times/the early 1800's#*of course ot1 supposedly takes place in the early 1600's even though everything is based off the middle ages#such a weird bit of lore lol. anyway 8path loves being both anachronistic and historically accurate at the same time. and that's beautiful#op
