How do you think Les would act toward Floyd older? After the third movie, I mean.

Calmer, and stable Floyd, who I'm guessing actually got some help in the village. Maybe Floyd got help by talking things out there with someone, like therapy-ish. Or, just his brothers helping him through it all, because that's probably what he needed.

Seeing him happier than when he last saw him.

And, his new hair! I mean, him learning of everything that happened.

Would they get together again, or rekindle whatever reasonship (staying just friends?)

Ohh my story has gone through so many changes and updates that I haven't really talked about on here so it's hard to answer this ask straightforwardly now. 😅

Here's an updated version of this old post:

The timeline right now is more or less the same with them having a nasty breakup when Floyd is 22. The cause for it is that until that point Floyd only has hypomanic episodes which raise some eyebrows but they aren't that concerning to anyone, not with the kind of lifestyle they are having anyway. But at the time of the breakup he suffers from full-blown mania with psychosis for the first time which hurts both him as well as Les and the other bandmates.

Then there's the 2 year period where they are apart and Floyd falls hard into substance abuse and bad habits. Then Les bumps into him at a party and gets them to talk outside. It's clear to both that they feel incredibly sorry about what happened when they broke up. Floyd quickly after coming down from his mania realized that what he believed was going was all a delusion his brain convinced him of. And Les feels responsible for the addicted and mentally unwell state Floyd has ended up in.

There's still love there but so much hurt and the trust they had is damaged to the point they're unsure if it's fixable. Neither of them knows how to even address what went down in those days leading up to the breakup.

Les decides to help Floyd get back on his feet but he doesn't want him near the band anymore. He's convinced that the band isn't good for him anyway. He finds him a place to stay and a job in a remote town where not much goes on so he has a chance to sober up. The band at this point is still trying to make it work by doing gigs, so Les visits him little by little in between to check on him during this time period.

They go back to being friends gradually and Floyd shows interest in getting back together romantically from early on while Les has trust issues he can't get past. Les is very reserved and non-confrontational when it comes to addressing his hurt so he doesn't bring it up. Floyd is usually the one who would make those conversations happen, but Floyd at this point isn't aware that he has bipolar and doesn't understand what happened (is happening) to him, and he is very uncomfortable addressing it too.

But eventually they can no longer tiptoe around the topic of their breakup. Les wants to know what happened and why Floyd accused him of the things he did - which to Les it felt like Floyd took everything Les had confided in him regarding his childhood abuse and throwing it back in his face. Floyd feels awful because the only explanation he has is that at the time he really thought they were true. He tells him that he knows they aren't true but that something was really really wrong with him. He tries to explain what he was going through the best he can and he also tells him that whenever he tried to address it back then he was accused of constantly getting high on worms behind their backs which is what caused his paranoia to spiral.

The conversation doesn't answer everything but it makes it clear to both that neither of them wanted to hurt the other person, especially not intentionally. Which is what allows them to make the step into getting back together.

But not long after this Floyd suffers another strong manic episode and messes up at his job and books it out of that town. Once Les finds him and sees him in that hyper and erratic state again but now with more understanding, he tries his hardest to bring it down and help, and he finally firmly tells him that he needs to get professional help. Floyd doesn't like the idea of going to therapy so he says he'll go only if Les goes too to work out his own trauma. Around this point it's also when the band officially breaks up (they just couldn't ever recover after losing Floyd and Liv) so Les has no excuses to give why he can't go and he eventually agrees.

Floyd finally gets his bipolar diagnosis (yay!) and gets "meds" for it, and this revelation also helps both of them to really put the breakup incident behind them.

After this point they're more or less together. I say "more or less" because they're not in a conventional relationship and they're not following the classic rules of being a couple. They know each other inside out and are both deeply and unconditionally in love with each other but whatever they have looks more like casual dating that's been going on for more than a decade. Sometimes they live together like an old married couple and sometimes they don't and they keep in touch through letters and scheduled calls in phone booths.

One day during their "apart time" Floyd stops answering those scheduled calls and Les gets worried and sets out to look for him, which turns into a desperate months-long search while tensions in the country are high, non Rock Trolls are getting arrested and disappearing left and right, and the Rock Kingdom is secretly planning their invasion of the other kingdoms.

I'm not the biggest Eddie Knows truther but that scene gave Eddie Knows vibes. I've always loved it as a concept though and would be happy if they went in that direction.

Like imagine being Eddie Diaz and it's your first day at work and there's this big beefy guy puffing his chest at you, and you assume it's a toxic masculinity thing because you've met guys like that before so you try to diffuse with the situation but nothing's really working. But then you pay the guy a compliment and he just melts, like actual blushing, so you drop your voice an octave and do it again and next thing you know he's permanently attached himself to your hip.

And maybe Eddie's not consciously aware because he's not ready to accept himself yet but he knows that there's Something between them, something that's crossed his mind but it's better to not think too hard about. And Buck has never asked anything from him or put any pressure on him, so he just lives with it in the back of his head.

Season 7 gave me that vibe too when Eddie seemed to be enjoying Buck's frenzy over him and T. He didn't seem at all surprised when Buck came out. He only seemed surprised/ disturbed at the thought of Buck and T. But he tried to act fine because Buck was nervous and what mattered in that moment was Buck feeling accepted.

And now we have this episode where Eddie's biting back his words in the car and he clearly wants to reassure Buck but he can't do it without revealing too much. He can't even let himself think about it right now. So he tells Buck that it's not nothing, lets him know this is hard for him too, and leaves it at that. It's the same way he acted when he told Buck about the will. He'd wanted to hold that secret close to his chest because he knew it was revealing, but Buck needed to know that he mattered so he gave it away.

I think Buck is genuinely oblivious and doesn't recognize the feeling of being in love because he's never felt it before. Buck finding the idea ludicrous feels right. But with Eddie... I think there could be something more there.

Ooh, I think the Guild would still be around, yeah! Clementine would definitely continue helping out the Guild as much as she could, even once she got older and retired. She'd always be super happy to see new apprentices, and she'd help mentor them! :]

I could even imagine Wigglytuff offering up the position of Guildmaster to her, but she'd politely decline the offer. She would've been a great Guildmaster, but she just wants to take it easy for the last remaining part of her life. And plus, she'd grieve Piper for a long time, so she wouldn't be in the right headspace for a position like that.

And yeah, I think she'd definitely end up meeting Celebi again, and the rest of Future Trio too! Celebi would offer to take Clementine back into the past to see Piper again if she ever wanted to.

There is a question I have in mind. I read a lot of posts arguing whether "Itachi is a good guy" was planned from the very beginning or the whole plot was just rectonned. I read your tumblr, and know your opinion about it. But later on I found this:

Crispin Freeman (itachi's VA) said, “When I saw Itachi dealing with Sasuke and being so mean to him, I said, ‘I think he loves his brother.’ Everyone thought I was crazy. This was early in the series and everyone thought, ‘No, he’s just a bad, bad guy.’ I went, ‘No, no, no, you don’t understand. You don’t hate someone if you don’t care about them. If someone you don’t care about calls you, you just go, ‘Whatever, that’s annoying.’ The way Itachi was dealing with Sasuke, the only thing I could come up with was that Itachi loved him so much he was pushing him to do better.  Three years later I was vindicated.”

I’m impressed by his ability to perceive the hidden intentions behind Itachi’s behavior. I feel that approaching the character from a psychological perspective allows for a deeper understanding, which in turn opens up new ways to explore the issue more effectively. But it seems that very few people approach the issue this way.

Similarly, I’ve also heard many people say they can’t understand why Sasuke forgave Itachi so quickly—why he would even place his brother’s importance above that of their parents. After all, even if it was under duress, Itachi did kill their parents, and Sasuke loved them deeply. I believe it’s because Sasuke was the only one who could have a glimpse of what his brother had been through and begin to understand him. 

Even though he was deceived into killing Itachi—and even though, in a sense, Itachi died more from illness than by Sasuke’s hand—none of that erases the guilt and remorse Sasuke feels for killing his own brother.

Just imagine: killing even one family member under deception has caused Sasuke such pain. Then what kind of hell must his brother have endured all these years, having to make the decision to annihilate their whole clan—fully aware of the consequences, sacrifices, and weight of that choice? That’s why Sasuke understands Itachi’s suffering—and why he harbors such deep hatred for those who caused that suffering.

To understand Itachi, it's important to grasp the minute details of his psychology. He acts in a certain way, not because he just feels like it, but because he was honed and shaped by his circumstances and the way those circumstances affected him made him who he was.

When you see war and violence at an age that's undoubtedly the age of a toddler, it will damage you. Itachi is said to be a sensitive child. And that sensitivity was targeted when he saw violence of such intensity. Then, we know he never finds the support of anyone in his life. His parents are mostly clueless and Shisui and Itachi are closer in the fanon version. We don't know much about them in canon.

When you are that lonely and you have the burden of the entire world on your shoulders, it's not easy.

Itachi displays this very well when he tries to communicate with his father. Not for a single moment does he seem happy or excited around his father. His opinions don't get accepted by his family. He's either on their side or the village's. Even Shisui's death leaves him alone.

These things are enough to mess anyone. If not, he's an Anbu, an assassin, and he doesn't like what he does.

Literally everything he does messes him up and inevitably pushes him towards violence. When he takes the mission of the massacre, that's the worst. Because, he has to kill people, and take lives. And since he doesn't like it, it would be have been painful.

There's a reason he spent God knows how long in the prison of his guilt while his illness ate him away.

I find all these aspects of Itachi very interesting to explore. It doesn't automatically absolve him of his crimes but it adds so many more layers to him that he's just tragic. Because he's carrying the additional burden and pain of taking the lives. He wants his death to happen at Sasuke's hands. And as selfish as that desire was, even worse that he pushes Sasuke towards the path of hate and revenge, it displays the extent of his guilt that it blinded his sense of righteousness and justice. He loved Sasuke way too much, but his guilt of killing the people was also so strong.

He would have been a better brother to Sasuke if he wasn't so heavily driven by his guilt. He might as well have left Sasuke to live his life and ensured Sasuke had friends and family after he was gone. But the fact that he chooses such a destructive path suggests he didn't really have a sense of that in himself. It had been destroyed, little by little, over the years.

Sasuke loves him too much, and his forgiveness is due to many reasons. The guilt was one of the biggest reasons for sure, and yes, no one other than Sasuke could have understood how painful it was for Itachi to do what he did.

The guilt of taking the lives of someone who loves you is brutal. Sasuke's guilt was multilayered too. He didn't get to save his family, his clan, and he felt responsible them. He directed all his rage towards Itachi, who was the main perpetrator in his world. But then he learns Itachi wasn't the bad guy here, it was Konoha. And they even made him kill their parents.

When Sasuke's talking to Team 7, he singles out Itachi and says "Konoha made Itachi kill his parents" because he understands the pain of taking his parents' lives must've been devastating.

He was angry with the world on Itachi's behalf. He didn't care about his own pain, because he just wanted Itachi to get justice somehow, no matter it killed him eventually. If he died avenging Itachi, it would be a better death than living in the world that lived in ignorance.

Both Itachi and Sasuke are quite similar. Their lives were parallel and so were their trauma. Despite the differences, they were like the mirror images of each other.

It's all fascinating.

As to the topic of Crispin Freeman getting Itachi right from the beginning, that's one of the reasons he managed to give Itachi some tenderness and fragility. Although it happens more in Shippuden, but the transition from one side to the other is still smooth.

So, I just read a posts about how some male anime/manga characters that are loved will be hated if they were female. And it got me thinking. What do you think will happen if Gojo or Sukuna were female characters (with the same power and same personality), will they be hated? For me, yes they will be hated. But, the same can't be said for Yuuji. Like, for me, even if Yuuji's character were female, somehow, I think will be loved... But what do you think?

I think they're right, female characters (specially in shonen animes) experience undeserving amount of hate. They don't have to be necessarily "annoying" or "useless" or the villain to experience this. Part of it is because of sexism and how mangaka's handle them, they mostly serve as a medium for setting up the male leads for greatness or for fan service.

If gojo was a female character he'd get hated for being annoying, too powerful, cocky and careless, not to say he doesn't get hate for this already but it'd be hundred fold than what it's now. Same goes for sukuna, oh and definitely that no way a female character can be such a powerful villain. Notice how people hated yuuji for being the "useless mc"? now pair that with misogyny, he'd get ripped to shreds each time. Again this is not me saying that they don't get unnecessary hate already but it'd definitely be worse if they were women.

We do have maki, nobara and kirara lovers but when you compare the number of accounts dedicated to/constantly talking about male characters vs the female characters you'll notice the large number disparity. This isn't just a jjk fandom problem, this is a anime fandom and on wider perspective many tv shows problem too.

Not to push societal issues in here but in general I've noticed it's easier to hate the female characters for even the most miniscule reasons. Also this is why jjk as anime pisses off a good amount of male watchers, gege might not be good at handling his female characters but there's no unnecessary fan service catering to men rather it's vice versa here and I have seen the amount of lengths the dudebros go to shit on female watchers for it.

Okay getting back to your question, yeah, no matter how great a female character there will always be certain amount of hate reserved for them, it does not have anything to do with their personality or strengths, this is the fate of female characters in shonen. Rather that or they get boiled down to big boobies mommy who is useful from time to time with no other appreciation towards their personality or emotions.
